An open letter to Rick Santorum and the rest of the GOP Presidential Candidates from a Gay American,

Mr Santorum, We are your children, your parents, your family, your teachers, your soldiers, your police, your firemen and we are even your doctors. We are everything you say we should not be but yet we are everywhere.

You spout your religious bigotry and moral beliefs as a reason to promote hate. You say that two men or two women can never understand or experience the same type of love and equality that heterosexual couples are entitled to. You say that being in the military is not a right but a privilege and that only straight men and women should be given that honor. You've also said that being gay is destroying the moral fabric of our society.

Yet every American citizen in this country (gay or straight) who oppose the use of religion and the excuse of having moral superiority over others as a way to oppress and persecute the citizens of this country will always out number you and those who support you. We will always be on the side of good and not on the side of hate. We will "always" be serving our country proudly and yes, as gay and lesbian parents we will always raise our children to be compassionate and to be productive citizens of this country and to maybe even be President of the United States one day.

Yes Mr. Santorum, we are everything you say we should not be and that is what makes us more of an American than you.

Hmmm...if Mr. Santorum is elected president and considering his position on gays, I wonder how he, as commander-in-chief, will be able to gain the trust of the gays who serve (and die) in our armed forces...?

Does Santorum have a race problem?
Look at his record he proclaims...
from about a year ago he says, "“I find it almost remarkable for a black man to say ‘now we are going to decide who are people and who are not people,” Oh.... in other words, we should let him, a white man decide!!
They are all "less government!" but then turn around and talk about who should decide which citizens should have relationships together... not same-sex couples that's for sure!!
These hypocritical positions would bring an American Brand of extremism to our country that would mirror the middle east deciding who deserves support and retribution from the government!
There it might be Sunnis vs. Shiites, here it would be Whites vs. Other races and Gays under Santorum
Is that the America we really want??

If Rick Santorum's response to gay marriage is "What about three men? If you think it’s okay for two, you have to differentiate for me why you’re not okay with three. Any two people, or any three, or four.", shouldn't he also be afraid of this happening with "traditional" (man/woman) marriage? What about mixed races? What about mixing religions? If we allow a black Christian man to marry a white Jewish woman, why can't he marry two, or three, or four?? They can still procreate.. which is what I gathered from the rest of his argument that he viewed as "harmful" to society. So if he is going to use completely illogical arguments against issues he doesn't agree with, shouldn't he also have to defend his point of view against the same sort of agrument?
