A Vermont man is fighting Chick-fil-A for rights to print “Eat more kale” t-shirts. This David vs. Goliath story lands on the RidicuList.
Funny, just saw a Chik-fil-a ad on a bus, "Stop, Drop and Eat Spicy Chikin"... Sound familiar? Thought that belonged to the Health and Safety Department.
I saw bumper stickers that say "Eat More Possum" long before Chick-Fil-A ever started their business. Who created those and can we get them to sue Chick-Fil-A for infringing on the possum slogan?
Chick-fil-a was started by a guy just like Bo who did invent the process for preassure cooking a boneless chicken breast and then placing that meat on a bun so people could take it to go. A true example of the American dream Truett Cathy grew up extremely poor in the 30s and 40s and built an empire out of a 10 seater reasturant in 1947.
Trademarks and copyrights exist in order to protect small time Americans like Bo who creates something unique and valuable that people desire to buy or use. These laws are in place so people's hard work doesnt go to waste by copycats and people who will capitalize off of other people's ideas and I would rather those laws be stricter for the actaul idea generator than the 2nd guy to come along.
Big doesnt always equal evil, and small doesnt always equal virtous.
The major flaw in Chick-fil-A's argument is that the T-Shirt guy's slogan "Eat More Kale" is spelled correctly. Only the quasi-illiterate would confuse it with CfA's "Eat Mor Chikin"
Anderson's criticism of Chick-Fil-A should be on the Ridiculist. Is there any confusion between kale and chicken sandwiches? No, but products don't need to be similar in order to dilute a succssful brand. "Got Milk?" used to be a great trademark for California dairy farmers. Then t-shirt shirts like Got Beer?, Got Democracy? and low-cut t-shirts that say "Got Cookies?" started to infiltrate the market. Now when I see the "Got Milk?" brand, I think more about the parodies than I do about milk. C-F-A should absolutely protect its brand and keep it from being diluted. Anderson seems to imply that because C-F-A holds itself out as having a moral foundation, it is less entitled to the protection of its brand. That is Ridiculist.
This company is so out of control. It is pretty hilarious from an outside viewpoint that the people/companies that claim to be so in tune with God and heaven do some of the most abusive and hateful things. Hypocrisy is truly the one unifying trait of the religious. I find it particularly funny that the religion these people claim to be puts forth a central prophet who was particularly opposed to the hypocrisy of the religious. I'm going to buy one of these kale t-shirts now. Screw Chick-fil-a. It is easier to jam a chicken through the eye of a needle than for this company ... -Adam

Anderson sided with the t-shirt guy (being that he was the little guy); however, a few months ago when IHOP was disgruntled over a fairly small Kansas City church (International House of Prayer) utilizing the acromym, I'm pretty sure there was no siding with the little guy at that time from any media. Double standard? Thank you for sharing Chick-fil-A's company motto. I'm sure more people will be willing to eat more chicken because of it.
It is amazing the backlash Chick-Fil-A's facebook site is getting. Leave the little guy alone.
T shirt guy? I almost thought I was going to see an Elmo T, then realized that was CARPOOL guy. Hope he sells lots of shirts due to this. Anderson needs Jaime Oliver to cook him up some kale, another food intervention?
