CNN's Anderson Cooper examines how Syracuse has managed sex abuse allegations against Bernie Fine.
City of Syracuse and Syracuse University, two different entities. Not clear at the beginning of this story.
On the other hand, what about ESPN and Post Journal in Syracuse, thay had the evidence since 2002!! Did they cover up?
Thus morning's edition [ 11.30.2011 ] of the NY Daily News boldly asserts their investigation of Accuser Tomaselli proved he is a liar about details of his sworn affidavit to police. It also confirms Tomaselli's father's assertion that his son was lying - is correct. A real circus of media flooding the airwaves with unsubstantiated accusations. Yellow Journalism. At least Anderson Cooper made clear the circumstances remains allegations. Tome it is interesting that 1st accuser, Mr. Davis, has admitted he "has over 100 hours of taped conversations with Bernie Fine's wife." A member of Bernie Fine's family told another reporter, Mr. Davis insisted his debt of $4000 be forgiven, or else." hmmm. Syracuse University twice before hired outside law firms to investigate the allegations and nothing was ever corroborated to a legal standard of proving guilt. This situation is a mess.
It might help if the accusers could get their stories straight and the reporters double checked the facts before reporting. From the NY Daily News: "The third accuser, 23-year-old Zach Tomaselli said in a sworn statement to Syracuse police that he rode the team bus from Syracuse to a game in Pittsburgh in 2002 and was molested by Fine in the team hotel when he was just 13 years old. But the Daily News checked the schedule for that season and discovered the team did not take a bus to Pittsburgh, but instead flew to Pittsburgh after a road game in Tennessee."
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.
