Michael Moore says the 'Occupiers' believe capitalism is broken and government only serves the interests of Wall Street. Anderson Cooper spoke with him about the future of the movement and the ultimate goal.
Why did Anderson let Michael Moore just promote his goals, without any kind of challenge to his statements.
Michael is again on the correct side of an issue! Thank you Michael for staying involved and sharing your thoughts with us!!! Together we stand…
Micheal Moore! A man worth 50 Million dollars selling movies at prices protected by the government. What a joke that anyone would listen to this guy seriously. The day he either gives away his movies or his money I'll listen.
Yes Michael and thanks! Now you're saying what has to be said. There's no "good" capitalism. "it´s an evil system". This definetely needs to be changed. When will the world wake up from this nightmare? .....
Sad that the so called regular people can't get their (our) message across. It's only until the famous and celebs show up that people start paying attention. And sometime (or a lot of times) those famous/celebs are protesting or at a rally for "show". And they don't really care about the struggling people of America or anywhere else. There are some famous/celebs that do care.
Then it becomes more about who's who at the protests/rallies on the 6 o'clock news.
Don't expect sympathy or even an open ear in the corporate owned media who in many cases have interlocking ownerships with Wall Street and big companies such as GE and Time Warner. Concentration of media and news sources needs to be addressed along with Wall Street in order for democracy and truth and justice to flourish.
Gee anderson, i was waiting for the question about all michael moore's millions of dollars he's made off of the capitalist system.....why wasn't that question asked?
Well said Michael........you are the voice that is needed to get the media attention that is needed! Hats off to you from here in Canada!
You like him so much, Maxine, PLEASE: take him to your country!
Michael Moore has it figured out ! The rich get richer...which is sad. Middle Americans are working 3-4 peoples jobs for less pay and every year their benefits at work get worse! Its sad. American Middle Class need to stand up and get treated better!!!!!
I would suggest that we all boycott 2012 elections as a mean of expressing our anger and frustration towards the system, electing a Republican or a Democrat will not really matter as long as Wall Street runs our politics. Politicians are no longer loyal to the people. Their only loyalty is for the big bucks that fund their campaigns....
I believe Mr. Moore is right. They "overplayed their hand" in a big way.
Yes! An economy based on clean energy and agriculture!
but how is the citizenry going to operate our financial system if our central bank is privately owned by corrupt criminal elements from the banks & large corporations? the Federal Reserve Bank needs to be dismantled & a central bank owned & operated by the gov't (the taxpayers) installed. the present central banking system is akin to assigning the mafia to own & operate the casino regulatory commision.
I am SO glad to see Michael Moore and other prominent voices joining this worthy movement!
Democracy 2.0 because it is still WE THE PEOPLE.
Thank you for covoring this story and please have more talks with Micheal Moore on this subject. Reporting like this could make history and pull this country back to where it needs to be.
Michael Moore is delusional. The person making millions off the system now tries to take this ridiculous position against that system. Those working in Flint and Detroit are fortunate to have a job. They make a good living. They have also chosen that job. A bit of reflection on how blessed we all are, particularly when compared to other countries, might provide some balance to the "poor me" attitude.
WOW! I just watched the interview with Michael Moore. I believe in the goals he is trying to accomplish but his approach couldn't be more off base. I am a small business entrepreneur, have employees, and we ARE the most competitive business out there. However, our business is barred from competing with the larger corporations that offshore jobs BECAUSE of government regulations. My approach: remove the barriers of small businesses to compete with the big boys and you will see a dramatic difference in YOUR finances. If we can't compete with the big boys, we can't keep them in check!!! DON'T leave it up to government favors with large corporations to determine your future ... leave it up to the many small businesses that are HUNGRY to take them down through CAPITALISM !!!
Are you kidding me!! Michael Moore is crazy and so is the entourage behind him in this video interview!!! Are these the people we want guiding us in a "change" in government and economics!! People need to get educated on the fact that the United States is wonderful and yes we have some work to do, but I feel sick to my stomach thinking about Michael's comments on creating a "new" economy/government..... he thinks Cuba is better than the US....and he is telling the cats behind him that and I am sure they are drinking it up like warm milk. Let them sit in on my social studies class that I teach and I'll tell them a few things about Cuba......Michael's "socialist" ideas won't work!!!!!!!!!
Michael Moore speaks the truth. Most of the workers in this country are doing the work of two for less pay than 30 years ago. Time for the American worker to stand up for themselves. How can a fat middle-aged white guy have so much courage? Michael Moore you Rock!
I take my hat off to CNN for telling the real story of the downward middle class American worker.
I agree with your comment and I believe that Michael Moore should run for president.
I am watching Michael Moore on the show as I write and I still don't know what they want to happen with this movement. It has taken years to create this mess supported by all parties and America was built on Capitalism and he knows better than anyone this can't be changed overnight or by this occupation. I listened to his rant on the bailouts but his Father collecting his pension and healthcare benefits are part of the reason car manufactures could no longer keep up . I agree on all sides that changes must be made to restore some of what is lost but deep in our hearts we all know the world is "different" and it will never again be what it was or what we wish it to be .
Oh ANDERSON...you should have CEO Schiff on your RIDICULIST. Let me get this straight. It is the GOVERNMENT's fault because they had lax regulations and low interest rates so Wall Street acted like drunken sailors but just give Wall Street the lax regulations BACK and they will be more responsible. HUH? That's like the people that worked on the Pipeline saying 'just give us ONE MORE pipeline and we promise we won't piss the money away!' Oh but that's THEIR fault, right? The housing crisis is the PEOPLE'S fault because they took out loans at low interest and no oversight and not the mortgage people people who took advantage of the lack of regulations that they sent lobbyists and money to affect laws in D.C. What's the common denominator? IT'S NEVER THEIR FAULT. WE MADE THEM DO IT. Please.
These are the viewpoints of a 32 y.o. adult w/ASD (not a lot of world experience). How can capitalism be bad when it encourages companies to compete, resulting in better products? As for Washington working for Wall St., isn't that Washington's fault? Doesn't the brunt of the problem lie with Washington? I wouldn't blame capitalism, I'd blame the current system that ruined it: mainly D.C.l greed/en-ablation.
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.
