Official: Iran Helping Syria: Join the Live Chat

We have breaking news on Syria. U.S. officials tell CNN that Iran is helping Syria slaughter its own people, by training security forces, sending in weapons, and even supplying riot gear. This comes as dictator Bashar Assad addresses his country today where he blamed the bloodshed on 'armed gangs.' We're Keeping Them Honest. Plus, Rep. Louie Gohmert of "terror babies" fame is making headlines again for some wild comments he made on the House floor. Plus, see who lands on our 'RidicuList.'

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

Truly ridiculous. The average successful long lasting relationship folks are just average people and would never probably meet the criteria to be on this site. Of course if you think you absolutely have to have a "beautiful" person then I guess you might as well look there and find the narcissist of your dreams.

The prosecution and the defense are in opposition, isn't that the point of the trial? I don't understand the judge's problem.

The trial lawyers with play around just to throw the jury off, but no one is going to sleep in the courtroom this time!

      "will play around"

It seems like there is always an "expert" witness that a defense can find to testify the way they want. Most of us think Casey did it but whether the prosecution can prove it beyond a reasonable doubt can be argued. I say there is a very strong circumstantial case to convict but who knows what a jury will do. The whole country is captivated by this case and I think Nancy Grace made that possible by making Caylee so real to everyone with all the pictures and videos and all the info as it unfolded. Has to be a movie at some point!

It certainly sounds like Syria will not be free anytime soon. They have a long fight ahead of them and at this time they don't have the means to defeat those in power.

    June 20, 2011 at 10:09 pm |
  37. Starr, formerly know as vincent

When did 10's of thousands of "thugs" enter Syria? Nonesense!

I would not believe a word he says. I hope his people do Not go home to get murdered.

May God please bless the Syrian people and help them gain their freedom.

    June 20, 2011 at 10:08 pm |
  38. Tanner

This raises the question in addition to Syria, where else are they trying to interveine to spark trouble. Get rid of Iran as a power!

    June 20, 2011 at 10:07 pm |
    • Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA

I agree with you, Tanner, Iranian leader must step down for sure as Syria leader too.

      June 20, 2011 at 10:11 pm |
    • Hossein

Maybe you guys should leave Iran affais to Iranians. It is not your business to decide whether Iranian leader should step down or not.

    Clearly Assad is not truthful!

Good evening everyone. These allegations about "bad people" being responsible for the uprisings is the same in all these countries and it doesn't hold water. These are not armed thugs, I suppose there could be a few, but the majority are certainly just everyday people trying to get out from under cruel dictators.
