Anderson, Excellent question to Paul. If this were a republican, there would be more talk and innuendo. I get truly tired of those that insist a democrat is being treated unfairly when it is certain those on the left would be all over this. Double standard – I think so.

  25. Starr, formerly know as vincent

I can't believe that this is the father and uncle of this child!

If they are, i believe that they were seriously threatened. What parent or close relative could endorse a regime that would do that to their son/nephew!

The Entire global community needs to do something meaningful to Syria. The world does not need a country that would do this kind of disrespect & injury to their Own people, children no less!

God bless the woman who remains willing to talk to Anderson. I pray that she remains safe, and i pray for the Syrian people who are suffering under this unspeakable regime.

    June 1, 2011 at 10:40 pm |
  27. Jennifer - Michigan

That's terrible! You'd never know that was the boy's dad and uncle – so weird.

I don't think that is the father also, if that was my child i would be devastated. There was no emotion on the man who was seen on tv.

      June 1, 2011 at 10:45 pm |
  28. Nina

omg, I only hope the child was deceased before they tortured him. I just cannot get my mind wrapped around human's inhumanity to mankind. I wonder what goes through these men's mind when they commit such heinous acts.

Your hope that Hamza was deceased before all of the physical damage is my prayer too. God, my heart aches for the brutality of it all. Not just the children, but all of the Syrian opposition, men & women too.

This is horrible treatment of a child.

    June 1, 2011 at 10:38 pm |
  31. Janis

Forcing the father of the poor child to do that is another horror of the Syrian regime. If any of these regimes that are so brutal to their citizins think they can hide these horrors any longer, they are in denial. World communication is open, it will get out, everyone will see and everyone will know. You can't hide any longer. Now it's up to the rest of the world what they are going to do with all this information.
