Welcome to our 3rd annual Golden Globes Live Blog. I'm your host and, in case you're wondering, my qualifications include once meeting Ricky Gervais at the Chateau Marmont and working for several years in a video store/tanning parlor.
I'll be with you from 8pm Eastern Time until the conclusion of the East Coast telecast. Now, to be clear, we're not advocating changing your channel from CNN. But if you're going to watch the Golden Globes anyway, you might as well watch them with us as your running commentary. And frankly, you don't even need to be watching the Golden Globes to enjoy the live blog.
Disclaimer: I'm sure some of these movies/TV shows are connected to CNN through our parent companies Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner. HBO, Warner Brothers and New Line Cinemas are just a few of our high-profile sister companies. But seeing as how another year has gone by and I've not gotten so much as a free hat or poster, I'm not in the tank for anyone. Except for Betty White. Not that she's even nominated. I'm just in the tank for her in general.

If you want to take part in our Live Blog (and we hope you do) keep in mind that you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.
Here are some of them:
1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst – and that includes $#&*)
Anderson Cooper goes beyond the headlines to tell stories from many points of view, so you can make up your own mind about the news. Tune in weeknights at 8 and 10 ET on CNN.

I guess this leaves me as the "Jaded" Brandon. I will go by Brandon S then
there we go...Glee was drinking it up!
For those keeping score, nobody has been "Played off" in the past hour+ as far as I've noticed
LOOK! There's Marky Mark! I used to have a crush on him a jillion years ago. he still looks great.
Kyra is like, "Kevin can we go home now"?
Kyra and Kevin looked so sweet and happy!
Melissa Leo was the bitter wife in 21 Grams for those who were wondering as much as I was
The former Mrs. Ted Turner looked pretty hot for an old broad. Nice going, Jane.
Christian Bale looks like he is about one beer away from Jeff Bridges circa Crazy Heart
oh, i wanted to see Helen's two toned shoes walking on that stage with Ricky
and the award goes to another movie I have no desire to see...
Jeremy Irons could read the ingredients from a box of Mac-N-Cheese and it would sound amazing.
For those unaware, there are two Brandons. I'm the less jaded one who remarks in paragraphs about ESL award winners and homosexual stuff
oh wait...he's not Pee Wee?
Maybe he's Pee Wee's kid
Love Jim parsons and the big bang theory!! Haley seemed so happy for him!
I will never understand why Big Bang Theory is even on TV. This is the worst win of the evening for sure.
wow.So many first nominations, first wins tonight!
I guess the lesser actors are seated in the back without lighting
doesn't Jim Parson kind of look like Pee Wee Herman?
English as a Second Language award winners?
Really? Is it a new category, Jack?
I wasnt sure about the The Big C when I first started to watch it, but really was a good show!
Jane is right up there with Helen Mirren – doesn't she gook fabulous!
yes, Jane Fonda! Who wants to do lines from On Golden Pond?
Come on – Ricky is just trying to make us laugh. I need a laugh!
Hurry up commercials! I am dying to find out what snoozer award will be handed out next
@Brandon....I second everything you just said
Well, whomever said they were wasting time on their DVR..you're right.
The Big C is so inspirational...I'm definitely having scratch-off lottery tickets at my funeral.
Gervais has crossed the line. He won't be back.
The King's Speech! Amazing film...
I love how all the English as a Second Language award winners receive polite applause and encouraging glances from the crowd as if they're 7.
The director of this show is failing badly given how many times an actor or actress is mentioned and they cut to Paul Giovanni or (insert random actor or actress who hasn't been in anything in 2-3 years)
On another note Helen Mirren just remarked how pretty the women are while mentioning a movie's insemination. I don't even know what to think anymore.
Ricky was right on there...Americans don't give a crap about Best Foreign Film. I use to try to like them....just never could.
@JackGray, she's on House
Olivia Wilde was in Tron and in House.
Of course Alicia Keys has some crazy thing in here hair
I literally have no idea who Olivia Wilde is. I'm getting old and lame.
sandra should have worn her hair up and eva longoria worn hers down. eva looks great but tonight she is wearing "School Marm"
Ricky Gervais is offensive. Doing a horrible job.
It's remarkable to think how far, publicly, open homosexuality and deserved acceptance has come. Whereas it used to be "brave" for a show to have Melissa Etheridge speak, now openly gay actors and actresses feel comfortable thanking their wives or husbands while taking jabs at those who aren't with it. America's coming along in some ways at least.
I keep thinking I am on Facebook and want to hit the "Like" tab under some of the comments!
well deserved win for Jane Lynch. If you've never seen her in Best in Show, go rent it now. Or do whatever people do to watch movies these days. Netflix, iTunes...that's what the cool kids do, right?
She is hystrical in "I Do and I Don't" as well.
hahahaa was that a dig at Lea Michele for brushing off that girl from True Grit?
There you go Jane L. That's how to make an acceptance speech.
best acceptance speech so far...Jane Lynch for GLEE!!! Funny lady!
"When I can be bothered, I give them a moment of my time". I LOVE Jane Lynch!
OMG, Sandra Bullock should have worn her hair up. She looks like she's in witness protection
was that Sandra Bullock with the bangs or is my eyesight going too
Ryan Seacrest says that celebrities "are eating. More are drinking.
" Hopefully theywill loosen up as the night goes on.
so glad Jane won
way to go Jane!!!!! I wish she would bust out some Best In Show!!!!
