Should the Mich. Asst. AG be fired?: Join the Live Chat

Tonight on 360, more on the strange case fo the Michigan Assistant Attorney General targeting a gay University of Michigan student. Also, Dr. Phil joins us to talk about cyberbullying and the Rutgers student who committed suicide this week after his roommate streamed live video online of him kissing another boy. And an update to our Dr. Detectives series. 360 MD Sanjay Gupta joins us along with patient Sally Massagee. That and more on AC360° tonight at 10pm ET.

Scroll down to join the live chat during the program. It's your chance to share your thoughts on tonight's headlines. Keep in mind, you have a better chance of having your comment get past our moderators if you follow our rules.

Here are some of them:

1) Keep it short (we don't have time to read a "book")
2) Don't write in ALL CAPS (there's no need to yell)
3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links
5) Watch your language (keep it G-rated; PG at worst - and that includes $#&*)

I applaud your courage after such a devastating loss. I honor and applaud your desire to be planted firmly in the solution. Yes, many do not want to address ugly situations.

@Emily The pts noted in the panel discussion need to attended to, is there an injunction against Shervill, did he not disclose that to the Michigan Attorney General. The attorney general also needs to determine how harrassing Andrew Shevills actions are, that is the AG's responsibility. You're right Shervill didn't deny doing the things Anderson asked him about as I recall but he did insist that he was making a political attack. I do think that calling a future employer to provide negative info about someone is bizarre and smacks of possible personal animus or mischief. But I don't know all the facts surrounding those incidents.

Are there federal hate crimes laws that would apply in these cases?

    September 30, 2010 at 10:54 pm |
  24. Kevin E

@ Shelby some state prosecutors have tried to charge students with acts of terroism related to planned school shootings and bomb threats.

There are distinct correlations between terroism and bullying both are based on power and control and fear.

@Kevin E., so sorry to hear about your son. I am sure it is difficult for a parent to watch their child go through this kind of thing and not know what to do about it.

i love sally's attitude – do NOT bathe your cells in adrenalin and fear – that is a "fight or flight" reaction which indeed causes stress on both the body and the mind

    September 30, 2010 at 10:53 pm |
  27. Brenda

Every state need to pass anitbullying laws. If they have, then they need to be more stringent.

@ Casey, thanks we were able to end the end of school year hazing rituals but we still have work to do.

BUllying is such a large problem, schools need to tackle sizable bits to get started.

    September 30, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  31. Heather - Spokane, WA

I am so happy for Sally. I just hope they can help the little girl now

    September 30, 2010 at 10:51 pm |
  32. Shelby

Couldn't the bullying also be considered "terrorist" acts, acts to terrorize someone, under the law? It's law in Calif & covers harassment & threats in phone calls, etc, but don't know about Mich.

As a society we need to get it out there that mistreatment of anyone anwhere for anyreason is apunishable offense.

We will only loose more kids if we do not talk about it.
I've spoken to over 5,000 kids here in MI and they are floored by the cybere statistics and the possibility of jail time
