Yes, it does. It could very well chip away at some of the abuse and mistreatment that homosexuals endure in this country.
More than that, the law(s) might possibly reduce some of the hostility, hatred, aggression, and physical and verbal abuse that are directed at children who are overweight, physically disabled, those afflicted with appearance-altering conditions, or those our society labels as plain "unattractive."
If that is the case, then what kind of nation will we be living in after the effects of such laws are realized? Goodness forbid we live in a country that requires individuals to respect each other's dignity and basic human rights.
