White House Vacation Controversy: Join the Live Chat

Tonight on 360°, the White House under fire for the First Lady's vacation in Spain. Plus, the testimony of supermodel Naomi Campbell in the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor is disputed by her agent and a famous actress. And, a flight attendant is under arrest after he allegedly got in a fight with a passenger, yelled insults over the plane's PA system and then made a dramatic exit on the plane's emergency slide. We can't make this stuff up.

3) Use your real name (first name only is fine)
4) No links

The AC360 report on the death of Pat Tillman was outstanding. I believe all Americans have a right to know the truth about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Is Campbell kidding? Someone gives her a sack of dirty diamonds and she just takes them and doesn't ask where they came from or question them in anyway? Incredible!

Joined late. The First Lady's trip is estimated to have pumped $1 billion into the economy where she's staying. It sure would have been nice top pump that into someplace in the US.

If they can prove that Naomi Campbell "lied", I really hope that she can be charged!

Inconvenient, because Campbell has people to attack.

If Ms. Campbell says her time there in court is a huge "inconvenience" for her then it wouldn't be that suprising if she purposely cut short her story and lied...

Naomi Campbell isn't the must trustworthy witness judging by her past. Maybe questions weren't posed specific enough.

Wow, this flight attendant had a mega meltdown. And he had 28 years in. Hope he still gets his pension. I guess if you're going to meltdown, might as well go out with a bang (or by emergency slide).

    @Jo Ann,

"Rumsfeld and that bunch are all criminals."

I wonder, because the Tillman family has all this proof against those Gov. officials, if they can sue them? (for slander, defamation, etc?)

@Casey Jones – Palm Springs, CA, "The general public, for the most part, is consistently being duped by major media organizations. Pay attention folks. Don't ignore the man behind the curtain."

Boy do I agree with that! I take everything the media tells me with a rather huge grain of salt. They can no longer be trusted. We as viewers need to inform ourselves.

Thank you to the Tillman's, you have and will make a difference for the best for all military personnel in the past, present, and future,

That was a wonderful & emotional interview, Anderson.

I hope I get a chance to see it. They did their son very proud.

Pat deserved better. What happened was awful, but why didn't people just come clean and admit it was a mistake? My only guesses? Because we are afraid to admit that we are helpless in our attempts to assume perfection, i.e admit we are imperfect, and absolutely denying gravity when it comes to thinking we can win the world's peace by conducting war.

Media organizations are disappearing left and right. This is leading us down the path of more and more "controlled" messages. The general public, for the most part, is consistently being duped by major media organizations. Pay attention folks. Don't ignore the man behind the curtain.

If Pat Tillman was really killed by friendly fire, then why hide it unless something else happened. Friendly fire is understandable, it is an accident

Good report tonight on Pat Tillman. Proud for you all for selecting this doc as a feature story.

No matter what, Pat Tillman is a hero. Anderson is right, the media was negligent in its coverage of this story. I only wish I could feel confident that they have learned from this mistake.

Rumsfeld and that bunch are all criminals.

I'd hate to be Mr. Tillman, Sr. & his family ...
When grieving for their son, family member, it was up to them to go over all these forms, etc. How awful! Talk about ripping a scab off of an open-wound. :(

What happenned to Pat Tillman is so sad. I can't imagine the hurt and anger his family has had to deal with for so many years.

Are the problems with private prisons country wide? Aren't Arizona prisons overcrowded?

If they shut down the adult services site, won't the ads move to other parts of the site? Even so, it's not a bad idea. Do the DC police follow up the many possible leads?

    August 9, 2010 at 10:37 pm |

Pat's story is so sad! It's terrible that the parents have been kept in the dark for so long.

Go get em Tillman family! Much respect and thanks Anderson for that media apology. Let the truth come to light and soon.

Best wishes to Mr. Tillman's family.

  36. Mike - Las Vegas

Pat Tillman's life was wasted by the military. He could have been a much more valuable recruitment tool while still playing for the Arizona Cardinals and having the weight of the NFL behind him. Instead he went off to Afghanistan to play Rambo and try to catch Osama all by himself and got killed by his own men. Such a tragic waste and just another element of the legacy of Bush & Cheney's war for oil.

Why do they tell these cover up stories? Tell the truth. War is hell. People are killed. Mistakes are made. They are tragic but they happen. If you have to drum up support for a war, maybe you shouldn't be there in the first place.

AC360 is such a beautifully produced news show. It doesn't overdo the machine gun type editing that I find so agitating and hard to watch sometimes. Lighting subdued and commentators don't disappear in a hail of crawlers. Good job AC360 team. It's worth watching in HD!

If you think Craigslist is unique, you're wrong. Deal with reality. Sex is not going away and if it's not listed on Craigslist it will be (and is) on some other site.

Mrs Obama and the president have accomplished so much in such a short time, under great stress. I’m glad if either of them have a rest, wherever they choose to go! Minor politicians who take paid working vacations are costing the public a thousand times more than Mrs Obama's trip.

You've yheard the comment "People are just no damn good? Well, I say, "People Suck!" Here we are complaining that Michelle took her girl to see some of the world. Are these folks just supposed to put their lives on hold while the rest of the world gets its act together? Like that will ever happen! People care about themselves! Wealthy could care less. Donate a little. Whoopie DOO! Unless you can keep your standard of living up to par and feel like you're better than the rest of the cast, unless you can have a good time, which seems to be what it is all about, even while you hold your conscience hostage or in a trance, what good are you really doing? Carpe diem, and to hell with the rest of it! Very few, if any, make America work to the best of its advantage. I ask you: "What is America for?" And what is government for but to keep us from eating ourselves alive?

This Craigslist story makes me sick. They should not say that they will take action and clean this up and then do nothing. They either don't screen or they do screen and don't care.

I watch from Bangkok as I start my day. Usually I appreciate your reporting, Anderson Cooper. Today, I am changing the channel. Michelle Obama in Spain to help her friend who's parent died - how bad it that? It is not! Today you join ranks with the right-wing media pros as they "distort and destroy" anyone who is not them. I am saddened. Even your attack on craigslist.com is over the top. Please stop being needlessly sensationalist. It's embarrassing being an American overseas, sometimes, and these stupid stories illustrate why.
