I traveled to Plaquemines Parish with General Honore to see parts of the Gulf Coast firsthand. We made it to the area's lowest point, where sea and land levels meet, and saw some cool things along the way.

Wonderful pictures especially of the marshland. I do hope the oil does NOT get to this place. You said you toured the place with General Honore – is there any chance he will be working on the oil spill mess and helping to get it completed more quickly, especially in the areas of wildlife rescue and spill cleanup? Its such a huge project that I'm sure Thad Allen could use the help.

Thanks for sharing this. It's a beautiful place! Hasn't the spill already reached some areas here? Maybe I'm mistaken. I HOPE I am.
Let's hope that it doesn't reach this area. It still astounds me, day after day, week after week, now month after month, that with all the brilliant minds on this planet, that BP will not enlist some of them to CAP or FIX this issue. When does it become at such a high level of a national security breach, that we take over this floating ticking time bomb? Really, it is a threat to National Security, because if this cannot be stopped the seafood industry and the ecological impact will send our country and economy back two years ago, right back where we were when the financial markets crashed! This is NOT good!
