Addiction and coping skills should be looked at individually to best help someone with substance abuse problems, I agree.

Texting: My students do that everyday and I have to get them to put their phones away.
I think it kills their brain cells because then they start speaking the same way in which they text and I spend most of my time correcting their English.

i think that addictions are quite personal – each person is different with a different background and set of personal circumstances and personal coping skills. treatment needs to be personalized as well (this should not depend on the non/celeb identity of the person).
They need to respect other religions and stop thinking its only their way or
they have to kill you.......jesus relax

Hi 5 year sentence for dealing is extremely light. Let's hope he can keep it to 5 years and not mess up in prison.

Gary Tuchmans reports on the volcano fully show it's fury and force and it's effects on those who live near it. It is breathtaking to see it hurling ash and debris and sparking lightning. How will farms where the lands are covered with ash recover? How do they go about removing the ash?
The pictures from iceland are beautiful.
Its sad to see all these children of celebrities having addiction issues. I think education is the key to reduction of addictions because once you learn about it and the effects they loose the appeal.
My degree is in neuropsych and I did a whole semester on drugs and addictions and its a scary world!
Everyone worships something. If he wasn't doing drugs, what would be the values he would focus on? What was he taught to value and worship.?
A rabbi addiction writer and counselor, said that we all have a God hole to fill, and if we don;t fill it with a higher power, then other things fill it.
If you have an addiction problem, there is an choice. Do you only harm yourself or do you als harm other, (innocent) people. Then you take a next step in your addiction, you become an criminal..
Boarding schools create huge abandonment issues is many children and teens. They are one step above old-fashioned orphanages. The only compromise is to let the kids go home every weekend. But still, it's just a way to have a 24-hour babysitter for your child.
I think all bulldogs are beautiful. How can you not like the smushed noses and the big jowels? Its the face anyone can find adorable

Being an addict is definitely NOT a defense against dealing drugs. My sister's in prison for smuggling cocaine into the U.S. from Mexico, and I don't want her to be there but i hate what she was doing, and there's no excuse for her. And forget "genetically prewired" ~ That's just an offensive excuse for bad behavior.
Douglas will be back on the streets before we know it!

He's an addict. He commited a crime. He's where he should be. It's clear daddy couldn't help him, or wouldn't...
