This situation with Tiger is very sad. Tiger has left such a legacy in the world of golf. He has also left a legacy for his children, however, not a good one. One day when they are grown up they will be able to read what their father has done. It's sad Tiger can buy a lot with his money but he will never have enough money to buy the respect of his children.

@Patricia Tutiven...I'm not being snarky or a smart ass about this but really, when you think about it, the difference between Tiger and other pro golfers (past and present) is that media scrutiny and public interest is much different now than ever before. This is NOT new by any stretch of the imagination. I fear if we knew every sordid detail of every public persona, there would be nobody left to like, don't you think?

The media along with everyone else put Tiger Woods on a pedestal and now that he has made mistakes and shown himself to be human all they know how to do is pull him down. He never said he was perfect, you did. He doesnt owe anyone an explanation other than his family

    Hi All,

It is probably time to admit a "secret" that we All know. Men, women and all those in between.
Fact: A man can love his family and cherish them above all else and still need the romance of other women. Sex in many cases is just collateral damage.
Fact: Successful men are conditioned to take what they want in life. Success mean accomplishing their goals, Wealth, Politics, achedemics etc. All men want to be admired and loved and valued.
What better way for a man to know he is valued than if a woman gives herself to him completely.
Fact: Men grow up supporting each other in these romantic interludes

It seems that Tiger is a honest man. Can you visulize him stealing or cheating someone? I cannot. He was just protecting his family by being descrete. However, now his basically clean nature is telling him come clean...

I cannot judge what is right for him, but i cannot judge his actions either. Can any man judge him badly?

Tex, I think it affects people strongly when there seems to be such hypocrisy....when someone has gone out of his way to pretend, promote and project himself in a way that turns out to be so false. It really does impact people, esp. those who were expected to buy the brand he was promoting of himself....not many people like a snake oil salesman I think.

We owe Tiger nothing, he has serious flaws, forget about golf. This is a big escape to get out of the line of fire – he doesn't want to be held accountable. If one or two woman OK – but this guy is a low life heartless no morals brother with hatred........why no african americans or asians affairs ? he only likes white woman ?

Could all the kettles stop calling the pot "black". It is your job as analysts, but do not beat him when he is down. Give the man a chance to heal; give his wife a chance to heal. He has asked for forgiveness, give it. Where he posts or admits his mistakes does not matter. the fact that he is sorry is what matters!

    @Megan,

I hope so for the sake of the kids...they are so young, however, if there is violence, etc, it's NO reason to stay!

(and if Tiger keeps cheating on her, that is not a good example for the kids to grow up with. Lets hope that they can 'clean up' their family!)

You're right Erica, this story must be one great Holiday present for all the journalists you know. It has all the elements: suspense, celebrity, sex, cheating, coverups, money, fall from grace.
He is of course a real live man, and no man is perfect.
That's the real story here, anyone who thought his golf playing made him perfect was wrong. No one is perfect.

Hi Mr Cooper, EH and ac360 casts,

Tiger has been committing extramarital adultery only god knows for how long. Had the whole car accident never happened,we as his fans would have been kept in the dark forever. He's coming out to announce indefinite break because of the embarrassment that he got caught. I don't believe he is really gonna work on the marriage.

Happy Chanukkah and everyone have a great weekend.

I say Yeah Tiger!!!!! You have enough money – they wanted to stick it to you – now you stick it to them! Leave golf – focus on your family – forget these crazy folks that seem to want you to suffer publicly – sort of like public lynching.

Ronland Martin is right! Most famous people are literally tackled down by "groupies" that make it hard for celebrities to resist them!! I hope this "tiger" issue would settle down soon!

Ohhh Nancy, thank you for bring that point!!! I also thought about the same thing. Under no circumstances is a man justified to attack a woman (rightfully so). But it's apparently fine (and even encouraged, according to blogs) for women to beat guys up under these circumstances.

All of those women knew this was a married man. Put some blame on them. Tiger has not killed anyone. That Steve Guy act as if he is jelous of Tiger.

Yes, I am a Black woman and my opinion of Tiger has not changed,

this media hype on tiger's infidelity is not doing good for the couple. come on he admitted it already, will that make him less of the greatest golfer? i dont think so, so let the couple deal with it. tiger is also human and make mistakes and humble to admit his missdeed thats a real man, and how about these people who pounce on his mistake like david letterman? wow! hypocracy at its best.......god bless you tiger may you overcome this trial, your still the best no matter what these hypocrites say.

To indicate that he has really failed people, he is only human with faults. People need to sweep their own front doors before going to sweep Tiger's.

how ironic that John Daly defended Tiger immediately and how the PGA tour officials are silent.

If Tiger wants to pull out from playing golf in order to deal with his personal issues it does make sense. I do believe when he is ready to play again; he must come back with an unprecedented dominating winning streak. Only Tiger knows the mind set he needs to do this. He has forever lost most of his good guy status and will certainly lose some endorsements. When he decides to compete again his endorsements and tour income will ultimately be weighed by his performance. No more easy income for Tiger.

I am a big PGA fan and as a fan of golf you have to be in awe of the talent and success that Tiger has had.

However, I have never been impressed with him as a person. I have to tell my 11 year-old son NOT to act like Tiger when we're golfing...slamming golf clubs, acting like a child after bad shots, etc.

Also, it's no secret that he acts like an elitist at times and doesn't treat other people with respect. I think that is why people are so quick to bring him down...because he has always acted as someone above everyone else.

On the other hand, of course, maybe he never would have achieved what he has without being this way?!?!

P.S. Where has Stephen A. Smith been hiding? I love everything he's saying...get him on more often...

I am just blown away by the fact that he did it so brazenly. I am even more amazed that he could keep it secret for so long. I am sure he has other issues, just not infidelity.

Smith is telling it like it is. There are plenty of women chasing these celebrities looking for their own "cash cow" and these celebrities are so full of themselves they fall for it every time.

I think everyone needs to leave him alone. Everyone makes mistakes and it's his own personal business. Why is everyone speaking as if they're perfect. Even his fellow golfers are speaking bad about him, What are we doing? These are his and his families issues to deal with not ours. The only thing I can say is that he sure did know how to pick them, all these women want is there 15 minutes and they don't care about what this is doing to his family. Leave him alone. Everyone has skeletons in the closet they just haven't been caught. People need to worry about their families and their problems, why is it any ones business what or who he does. His wife has to deal with it and ultimately it's her decision.

Tigerwoods is the best golfer in the world. He is not portrayed as the best husband in the world. Mind your own business.

Chris makes good remarks, but he needs to think much about what he is saying. He says that people look at him as trash. True Tiger commited a crime, but since people put him on a pedestal and they think he is trash, then why don't you do what you naturally do with trash; dump it and forget it. secondly the fact that Tiger was seen with his children in public does not mean he was alluding to the fact that he is a good father and was not. He was being a father to his children. he failed, but he was trying just as all people try different things and fail. He has only fallen, and he will definitely get up.

Do you think you can attribute some of this to the fact that he was a child star and maybe lack the real life moral development?
