As the United States and other countries plan to send more troops to Afghanistan, take a look at some of the other struggles in history where war and economic upheaval are nothing new.

November 11th, 2009 6:53 pm ET In modern history, for the past 30 years, the War in Afghanistan has been a PROXY war between Western Nations led principally by the United States against Russia. America created the Taliban and the ISA (Pakistan's CIA) in Pakistan to fight against the Russian troops in Afghanistan in the 1980's. Now it appears that during the tiny Bush Jr. administration when Opium production rose to 300% and Afghanistan produced over 90% of the worlds Opium, that the real goal was for the CIA to flood Russia with cheap Heroin. Recently the links and connections between the CIA and the Taliban have been made and confirmed in their covert involvement with flooding Russia and the rest of the world with cheap Heroin. Whatever noble cause or causes for fighting a proxy war in Afghanistan has long gone. A. Smith |
