October 7th, 2009 11:04 am ET It's really ridiculous that all of this violence is going on in Chicago yet no one will step up and turn anyone in who is doing it. Do these people have no morals or values what so ever? That's the real problem...they do not care about anyone and not even themselves. If they did no way would they sit by and let a killer of a child go free. Cindy..Ga. |

October 7th, 2009 1:09 pm ET Sue, you have the right idea. I have always wondered why we can't take 1% of all these majorly funded projects & use it to keep kids safe in our broken communities.so anderson if you can please challenge city of chicago to make a difference. They rallied together for the olympics, so rally together for the future leaders of our country. |

October 7th, 2009 1:12 pm ET for once i agree with Cindy. It is up to the individuals in these neighborhoods to turn their hoods around. They can't blame whitey, they can't blame the government. if they ALL stood TOGETHER against these thugs – it would work. it has been said they have no hope – well how can you have hope with you do NOTHING to get it back??? it's about time people start taking responsibility for their own actions or the actions of their family members or friends. To the City of Chicago – use that money you had for the olympics to put more police, undercover police/detectives...and clean up your backyard. I wish all the law-abiding citizens in these neighborhoods the best of luck and hope things turn around for you, but it has to start with each of you to do it. God Bless and good luck |

October 7th, 2009 1:45 pm ET I was surprised by the response of a 6-years old mother. If she is scared to step up and do something about the crime that happened to her own son, then who else would? She should be the first one to stand up for her son. |
