I read McChrystar's report and agreed with his basic premises on what should be concenrated on – protecting the Afghani people rather than fighting and helping them build back their homes and their own military and police. I'm glad that the Afghani President agrees with the report as well. I hope the plan can be carried out and when we leave, we leave a functioning country behind us with no need of the Taliban or al Queda.

I don't believe that sending more American troops to Afghanistan will help much because it's Taliban and Al qaeda country. They know it best and know how to use it to survive against any attack, and the Afghans can't really be counted on to go against them since they know that when the US and NATO forces leave, the natives will be at the mercy of the remaining Taliban and Al qaeda.
