Singer Michael Jackson took more than 10 Xanax pills a night, asking his employees to get the prescription medicine under their names and also personally traveling to doctors' offices in other states to obtain them, said a confidential document from 2004 that CNN obtained Thursday.

The document from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department contains confidential interviews conducted with two of Jackson's former security guards as officials prepared for Jackson's child molestation trial in 2005.

The singer was acquitted after the 14-week trial. But the information about the pills, and the lengths Jackson went to get them, adds to a growing mountain of claims tying the insomniac singer to drugs in recent days.

According to the drug's Web site, Xanax is for the treatment of panic disorder.

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton said Thursday detectives have spoken to a number of doctors who have treated Jackson over the years, and are looking into the singer's prescription drug history.

Why won't you people leave this alone until the coroner's report comes out, huh?

U know what its funny that now that he is gone and cant defend himself all these people want to start revealing things and what not. Its no ones business. If its like that they need to call out other artist and just leave Michael alone. He was the greatest entertainer ever period end of discussion thats all that matters

It is sad that we lost such a great icon, however now that the memorial is over, I wish the press would chill. His family need to still grieve and mourn, especially his children and how can they do that if every news show has something on michael

I find it very HARD to believe that this person took so many pills a night, for so many years and survived, as long as he did. I think the BS is flowing from somebodies mouth BIG TIME and as usual the news Hounds are plopping on it.......Let the man alone, he is dead and gone and I agree can't defend himself....plus his children deserve a life of happiness, even with the loss of their beloved father.....

Yes, the man should rest in peace – if he ever gets buried. This kind of drug abuse needs to be looked into. Maybe it will help stop a another senseless death.

i believe michael jackson lived a very sad lonely life. it is ironic concidering how much he was loved by his many world wide fans. the man,s life and death are a valuable spiritual lesson meant for us to understand for our own spiritual growth. michael jackson is our grand master teacher he touched so many lives with kindness and joy through his music and his giving nature, god bless michael jackson you will never be forgotten.

I'm beginning to think that MJ is alaive....no body is actually seen being buried, no hosptital workers actually confirm he was even there and dead, his death certificate still has no signature on it....there are too many loopholes here....are we seeing a "Tupac" move with MJ here..?

By the time the medical toxicology comes back with all the gossip and rumors that have been posted it will be hard to remember what is proven and what is not. We can wait to hear the official reports then – until then report on something else.

If all the accusations about his drug use are true, I wonder who actually raised his kids. It would have been impossible for him to maintain a steady relationship with his children if he was always 'out of it'.
