July 8th, 2009 3:13 pm ET God help us, since that is our only hope once they destroy our healthcare system. Change is not always for the better and this will be proof of that. Yes, we all want quality, affordable healthcare, but this disaster is not the answer. Too bad many here think healthcare for them should be free and don't seem to understand the importance of quality healthcare. |

July 8th, 2009 3:36 pm ET Healthcare is never free. Having the government pay is really we the people being taxed. We pay for the government care the people who we voted into office get. With record unemployment who is supposed to pay for it now. I think the only way we could improve the system is to allow anyone to be their own group and get a discount. Alter the existing system. Not force taxes on people who are out of a job. In Canada,France etc everybody pays for "free " health care through high taxes. |

July 8th, 2009 3:39 pm ET It's also too bad many here don't realize we are fast becoming a society sharply defined by wealth, a society of "haves" and "haves not". The quality of a person's health care in the United States is dependent on their wealth status, just like the quality of their legal defense. |

July 8th, 2009 4:32 pm ET I heard no applause, no giggling, no laughing and he looked like as if his cat had just died. Is Bidden under the heat for Credit Card bills? Is the White House? I think Biden ought to have is personalized coaster delivered to him free of cost right away “If that’s what he is after” but that he ought to leave the Deficit which is gravely hill and hopeless as it is without causing any further damages… |

July 8th, 2009 5:26 pm ET I hope Biden is right and that the time is now for a plan for health care for everyone and that it be quality health care and will improve our lives. Any kind of change is a bit daunting but hopefully this time change will be positive and will be helpful to those who need it. What we have doesn't work because not everyone can afford it; what we might have may benefit both the people who do not have current coverage and those that do. Its time to try a change. |

July 8th, 2009 6:03 pm ET Still waitin for that campaign promise by our fearless leader to offer us the same health care program he was receiving as a U.S. Senator; wonder if that included dental and pre-existing conditions? |

July 8th, 2009 6:47 pm ET Ooops! Did I say V.P. Biden hailed from Tennessee? I'm sorry, I meant Delaware. Give me break, I used to live there, I get confused. I still consider senility a factor though. Whatever! Donna Wood |

July 8th, 2009 7:23 pm ET I'm glad Obama said we could choose our own doctors; I'll go with the ones he recommends from the Mayo Clinic that he mentioned in his last town hall meeting. |

July 8th, 2009 8:03 pm ET Any health care plan based on insurance is doomed to fail. It will be more expensive, have longer wait times, more lawsuits, and lots of fraud. The military system controls labor and material costs, fraud, and lawsuits. and would be a much cheaper. |

July 8th, 2009 9:40 pm ET Do you actually think free healthcare is free? I've got some swamp land in Florida to sell you. I hope you will like going to the doctor when the Government says you can. You may want to look at buying a supplemental policy. This way you'll be ahead of the game. Maybe you can call someone in England or Canada to find out where they buy their supplemental policies. |

July 8th, 2009 9:45 pm ET You had better read these bills that are being rammed down our throats, because it's the fine print you are not going to like. This isn't just the Health Care Bill, it's everyone that is being passed. The Government is trying to get more and more control over us. You don't need to take my word on it, read the bills! This is why they don't want them read before they are signed! |
