July 7th, 2009 11:53 am ET Of course, Sarah, you're not a quitter. You did go to six different universities, in order to complete that 4 year degree. Who could forget that? You did say that staying on the job would be tantamount to quittting, so you quit, which I guess in your mind is tantamount to doing the right thing. WTF? Go fishing, ok? |

July 7th, 2009 1:11 pm ET Tell that to the people who have to work 40+ hrs a week and still struggle to get food on the table. Im pretty sure they cant quit a job during this recession no matter what the problem is are who's calling them names they still have to go. Once again proving how out of touch the republican party is. |

July 7th, 2009 1:30 pm ET Wonder if there is anything we can all do to let her "politicly die"; sounds like she's ready, how about we all (including the press) just let it happen by paying no attention. After all, she is not longer a politicial figure. |

July 7th, 2009 1:44 pm ET Oh, indeed, Sarah Palin is a quitter. If you need to validate yourself, perhaps you should choose your words more carefully. |

July 7th, 2009 1:47 pm ET Mrs. Palin, America wasn't ready for you when you ran for VP and we're not ready for you now, nor we will never be ready for you. |

July 7th, 2009 1:54 pm ET Please, her job was interfering with her being a celebrity. Having to stay in the state insteading of going on her world tour. The Republican party is good at Spin. But if she is their candidate in 2012 even they may have trouble spinning this. |

July 7th, 2009 1:59 pm ET Anderson Sarah Palin is not a quiter (as she stated) ,not a fighter but a TRAIN RECK CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW BIG OF A TRAIN RECK SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN AS THE VICE PRESIDENT? That also show you how good of a decision maker Mc Cain is. |

July 7th, 2009 2:13 pm ET How much money did she raise running for Governor of Alaska? Shouldn't everyone who contributed be refunded the prorated amount for the time left in her term? I'm pretty certain they believed she would at least fulfill her first term. Also, would it not be fair for one to assume that with the Democrats in control of Congress that she would quit as the VP? Finally, I'd like to know what Sen. McCain really thinks of her, hold the sugar coating please. |

July 7th, 2009 3:00 pm ET Questions for CNN journalists, other commenters: How many cases are still pending and which have merit? Now, I seriously dislike Sarah Palin and think there is something a bit "off" about her, but I have to admit that some of the charges did sound ridiculous, although some sounded like they had teeth. The problem is, Palin seems to have some kind of martyr complex and I am not sure if she can tell the difference. To wit, look at what she said during her 7/3 announcement where she compared herself to our troops who never quit. Seriously? Palin repeatedly claimed in this clip and others that "millions" of dollars and "thousands" of state workers' hours have gone to working on these cases. What are the exact numbers (I'm sure there's quite a bit of hyperbole) and what percentage covered the ridiculous stuff vs. serious ethics questions? Since Palin helped make it easier for people to file these lawsuits, what does she think now about what should be done? How much would she have been a "lame duck" (not that I think that that is an excuse for quitting here, because somebody has to govern)? Doesn't she just have to sign bills? And wasn't she having problems with the legislature because they–including many Republicans– just didn't like her? Also, has anyone brought charges/complaints based on the story that, when she was mayor, she made rape victims in the town pay for their "rape kits"? I believe there were thoughts that she was doing it because she is anti-choice. And what is the status of that ridiculous decision back in her hometown? |

July 7th, 2009 3:14 pm ET I'm so glad that she is not our vice-president. If she thinks she is in the hot seat as the governor of Alaska, imagine being vice-president of the United States. |

July 7th, 2009 3:37 pm ET Although I'm a democrat, I did agree with someone last fall who pointed out that Sarah Palin had zero time to prepare for being in the spotlight. Unlike the other candidates, she had not been campaigning for a year a half and, consequently, did not have the smoothest answers prepared. Reporters asked Obama fair questions - they did not ask him questions intended to get him to make a fool out of himself. No comedian has singled out Obama's children as fair game for jokes on national T.V. I wonder why no one asks whether Palin has been treated fairly as a woman. |

July 7th, 2009 4:08 pm ET She's not a quitter...... yet, she quit. If you can't stand the heat... |

July 7th, 2009 4:10 pm ET How exactly would she define a quitter? This is a bit like an airplane pilot announcing to the passengers that they've just reached comfortable cruising altitude and turned on the autopilot and so he's not quite sure what more he can offer to the passengers and if they all look out to the left side of the airplane at the parachute they'll see him waving and wishing them well. |

July 7th, 2009 4:53 pm ET I have a question for all of you who are calling her a "QUITTER." Do you all feel that Obama is a Quitter? Because he did the exact samething, he told the people of Chicago that if they elected him he would work hard for them and not run for POTUS. But, unless my memory fails me he did exactly what Gov. Palin did. He not only did not complete his tour as Senator, he took over 18 months of pay, from the people of Chicago, while he was campaigning for President. But, like Gav. Palin said other people can do the samething she does, and get no grief for it. Can one of you explain to me the double standards that you have? Because to be truthful I think you all have alot of nerve. |

July 7th, 2009 5:13 pm ET Sarah Palin is right when she says “You don’t need a title to affect change.” People treat Obama like a president because they want to treat him that way.. Not because of his job title. If the people of the world didn’t want to deal with Obama any longer, they could always ask/demand for Palin or another.. Like what would Obama say? No.. You can’t do that because I live in the White House and still got some years left in my first term? |

July 7th, 2009 6:56 pm ET Not a quitter? Not much of a maverick either. Just very self-oriented and attention loving. Glad she quit. |

July 7th, 2009 7:21 pm ET Wasn't Barrack Hussein Obama that quit his Senator job to run for president? Maybe we weren't supposed to remember that? |

July 7th, 2009 10:55 pm ET Why, when she only has 2 weeks left in her office as Governor of a State, is she out fishing? Is this something that's good for Alaska too? Is she writing it off as providing supper for a visiting VIP? I understand she's on a family fishing trip...who's paying? and why is she not finishing out her two week notice in helping with the transition> Is there a story here? Did they throw her out? |

July 7th, 2009 10:57 pm ET Sarah Palin has the same right as Obama did. It does not matter if it is for self growth as Obama or for the better of her state . I have great respect for her. |
