Paris is breaking my heart. Not a dry eye in the arena

12:37 p.m. PT

Touching moment: Paris hugging her little brother and making sure he is ok.

12:33 p.m. PT

Rev Jesse Jackson swaying along, next to Rev Al Sharpton.

12:32 p.m. PT

Spike Lee just jumped up on stage too. Paris is hugging Blanket. Just so cute

12:30 p.m. PT

Wait not her. Just a look alike
Lots of hugging on stage right now

12:29 p.m. PT

Britney on stage!!!

12:28 p.m. PT

Blanket is on stage with his program. Prince and Paris are singing along. Just adorable

12:19 p.m. PT

Kid from Britain's Got Talent on stage now. Amazing!!!

12:10 p.m. PT

Usher is standing just a few steps from Jackson's kids and mother. Really touching song

11:52 a.m. PT

Ok, I admit it. Jermaine made me cry. So touching Now Dr Martin Luther King's children are speaking

11:45 a.m. PT

It is evident that Brooke Shields cared dearly about Jackson. She is so genuine in her words.

11:39 a.m. PT

Anyone else pick up on the brothers wearing glitter gloves?

Crowd cheering Brooke Shields on. She is trying to keep it together.

11:31 a.m. PT

Rev Al Sharpton is preaching on in here. He has the crowd responding with cheers and tears, and we know it's sincere. He told me Friday night that he wants us to remember the legacy.

11:24 a.m. PT

How the heck did Jennifer Hudson not win American Idol? She is truly amazing and sounds even better in person than on tv!

11:21 a.m. PT

Magic and Kobe just hugged Michael's children

11:09 a.m. PT

I think the entire arena is feeling Stevie Wonder. Tears are starting to flow all around, and I hate to admit, I even teared up.

11:04 a.m. PT

Huge roar, loudest so far, for Berry Gordy. You can feel the electricity in the arena.

The big screens are showing the arena what you are seeing on TV as well.

10:58 a.m. PT

I'm sitting next to 4 of the rudest people...Talking on the phone, to each other. I can barely hear Berry Gordy speak!!!

10:51 a.m. PT

Main message from Latoya: Keep the magic going!

10:46 a.m. PT

Some woman is wearing a mask and white gloves. Can't figure out if it's to be like Mike or if she's a germaphobe Queen Latifah has the crowd laughing. You can tell she is emotional and doing her best to hold it together.

10:43 a.m. PT

There is a group of about 50 people in all white. Really a mix of people and fashions, so to speak

10:33 a.m. PT

Lil Kim just walked by my section. Amazingly, the crowd just waved a little and showed her some respect. She is in all black

A choir is is on the stage now. The celebration is beginning

10:27 a.m. PT

Family got a standing ovation when they walked in. Was very nice, and not raukus at all.

People are still filing in. There are a smattering of empty seats but it's mostly full.

10:16 a.m. PT

Complete silence when Smokey Robinson spoke, now waiting for what's next. Someone just yelled "We love you Michael". Some hoots but mostly shhhhs.

10:10 a.m. PT

I'm in! Gold 8×10 programs handed to all ticket holders. Special message from Latoya inside as well as pics throughout his career. Starting soon.

10:04 a.m. PT

The motorcade just arrived, so I am heading into the Staples Center. We aren't allowed to take photos but hoping to sneak some.

Hearing from credible sources to expect surprises. The fact that his casket will be there was one, so wondering what else is in store.

9:14 a.m. PT
After a week and a half, we are here...

The public memorial service will begin in an hour or so, and everyone outside Staples Center is gearing up for this celebration of Michael Jackson's life.

I'll be inside, hoping to update you on what you can't see on CNN during the service. Will check in later!

Michael Jackson will always be remembered as the King of Pop for years to come. It is hard to find another artist like him nowaday.

T-girl   July 7th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

we know on the news people did not talk about how much African people miss Michael Jackson.they only talking about all the other countris around the world. We African love Michael very much and we are going to miss him too. When Michael die our Mothers' Fathers' Sisters' Brothers'cry. Michael was an icon to the whole world. Michael wil forever be remember:)

Dee Black   July 7th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

What a long & sad day for the children of Michael Jackson. From living a sheltered life to being thrust in the midst of a child's nightmare. A nightmare that is being viewed worldwide. I pray that the courts will make the best decision for these children. Michael Jackson loved these children and they will need tremendous support. I hope the rest of their childhood is not lost as his was. They are human beings not commodities. I pray for their well being.

Wow king of pop Liberian girls love you, you will forever be in our heart.. we love you Michael Jackson

michael redmond   July 7th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

It is truely sad that the coverage of michael jackson has over-shadowed our troops who are giving there lives on the war front!! This is one of the many reasons why I do not use CNN for my media coverage!! You are infecting our already sickening society, god bless america, we are on a path of destruction!!

Danny Reed   July 7th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

Michael Jackson is not only the king of pop. He was an instrument for unity. Everything he did brought people together whether they were for him or against him. His life was like alot of our nightmares where you are speaking as loud as possible but no one seems to ever hear you.

Jo Ann Harris   July 7th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

He must of had so much anxiety...so much fear...such terrible dreams, that he would choose to sleep the sleep of the dead to rest the body but not the mind.
May he find the peacefulness of sleep that we all take so much for granted, in the bosom of the Lord.
Love Forever Michael

Trayson's great grandmother

Sherita Morgan   July 7th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

Michael Jackson is truly an Icon and what he has done around the world is an awesome thing and I feel we should honor him for the man, entertainer, and humanitarian that he is. His children, his will, and any debt there may be is his personal business and we should respect him and his family and the public and media should leave that area of his life alone. His deserved this honor while he was alive and it is a shame that he had to die to receive the honor he is getting from us. He had to be a very humble man. We can learn a lot from him. We the public must recognize the pressure we put on these artist when we demand production of the craft that they possess. We are partly responsible for the weirdness in him because we didn't allow him to have a normal childhood. May God keep his children, mother and family in their time of grief.
Michael rest in peace.

Sherita

SammyTT   July 7th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

When I think of MJ, I am touched by his reach - culturally, humanistically, artistically. He was a barrier breaker to say the least.

Then, I see that his family has totally disregarded MJ's teachings and message. Do they even notice that he wrote a song "Black or White", which implores that it doesn't matter if you are either. How disappointing that the family coordinated guestlist makes it a "black thang". Lest I humbly protest to the family that at least they could respect Michael (especially his father) for once after death by emphasizing what he stood for, not what they stand for. Michael stood for a post-racial world, not divisive racial politics as usual.

Shame on his family. Sad, sad, sad...

Monique Dever   July 7th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

I watched Michael Jackson's daughter lead her grandmother, Michael's mother, out of the service by the arm. What a loss for his children and family. I can see that she loves those children. All three children walked in with her to the service. I am so sorry for there loss.

Randy Heatherly   July 7th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

CNN is doing great job of showing the memorial today. One suggestion: as you fade in/out with MJ music, flash the name of the song on the screen. I don't recognize some of the songs but would like to know the titles.

shantelle   July 7th, 2009 12:46 pm ET

May he rest in peace.

PAT   July 7th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

I'm a long time CNN viewer, but after this, will take a look at other stations. I think CNN has lost control of the news, because Michael Jackson's death and funeral is not big news. He probably killed himself and is not worthy of this. Some kids who lost thier lives fighting for their Country, a fireman walking up the stairs at the Twin Towers, but MICHAEL JACKSON??? Come on?

Julie   July 7th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

You know what just kills me is that there are millions of people who live their lives humbly, doing good work and contributing positively to the world.

And what are you people choosing to focus on? A suspected pedophile who burned through hundreds of millions of dollars of cash for plastic surgeries and a high lifestyle.

Michael Jackson was a poor excuse for a human being. This is what you glorify? It makes me wonder if you're just as screwed up as he was.

Denise   July 7th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

I do not appreciate the comment Soledad made about Michael Jackson"s greatness that he was able to achieve....starting as "a little black kid"......What is her problem?...That was totally inappropriate!!! The less I hear from her the better for everybody today!!!

Renee Potts   July 7th, 2009 12:49 pm ET

Thanks for providing coverage to millions of viewers around
the world. Just a suggestion: Soledad needs to tone (too perky) the
comments down just alittle...she is not a reporter today. She
needs to not be such the "investigator" at this time....Let us
just enjoy the Memorial of the man we ALL remember in our own ways.

Martha Bellew-Smith, Ph.D.   July 7th, 2009 12:49 pm ET

I am praying this man will be allowed to get some rest after today's memorial service. I just hope and pray we eventually let the poor man alone and let him rest in peace.

alison in mo.   July 7th, 2009 12:50 pm ET

As a student of psychology-I don't understand why 'WE' the public "consume" some of our greatest human gifts..ie,Princess Diana,Elvis Presley and now,Michael Jackson just to name a few of the'entertainment' personas..there are other generes. We must learn to let them shine WITHOUT devouring them.RIP MJ

Mike   July 7th, 2009 12:51 pm ET

I feel that your reporters should know that the child's name is "blanket" because of the time when Michael Jackson place the baby over the balcony with a blanket covering his face. Come on CNN you all are better than that!!!

l j kelly   July 7th, 2009 12:52 pm ET

i am watching the coverage of the ceremony, and found myself thinking of the simalarities between micheal mand sammy davis jr..m i don't believe i have heard anything about this topic. they both grew up in show business, guarded from reality and predjudice, wanting so mush to be accepted in both black and white culture. it just seem so unreal almost how similar they really where.

MTK   July 7th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

He touched the tenderness, innocence and purity in each of us. That is why his death has caused such sadness. Those whom ridicule are unable to understand or believe that it is possible to be pure in thought and actions. Isn't it clear why he preferred the company of children and all his animals at Neverland? Children and animals are honest. They are the purest form of love. May you rest in peace Michael Jackson.

Tania Solci   July 7th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

It's surreal to watch what's happening right now... the memorial of a man that brought the world together by his music.
The best music entertainer ever and I am glad I got to see one of his concerts live.
(so many channels to watch but it's better on CNN – great coverage!)

Ruby Coria LA., CA.   July 7th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

It's so cool to see Anderson out here in LA., even though this has taken way to long, this should had been done over a wk.ago. I know you guys are getting a hard time for covering this service, but how can you Not?, the World is watching & they are watching one of our finest: Anderson & Soleda. good to see you AC.
R.I.P Michael Jackson.

Maria   July 7th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

To all the people talking about troop deaths, fireman deaths and all the other heroes who die day after day.....When is that ever reported in our news? It is not because Michael Jackson is in the news.

Michael Jackson was a figure that unified the world in Music. PEACEFULLY. A common factor between a person in Iran, Afganistan, Brooklyn, Tokyo, Somalia and Sydney is that they were Michael Jackson fans. He transcended racial, religious and cultural boundaries.

Let's celebrate this man as a wonderful AMERICAN who was LOVED worldwide. I know this coverage is on 24/7 in UK and other countries all over the world. We have had such a bad representation of America worldwide for many years. Embrace what he has achieved even if you do not understand it yourself. He is unifying many countries right now in a way you will never understand.

Barb   July 7th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

Michael has been my favorite entertainer since I first saw him on Ed Sullivan. I was in LA, close to UCLA when the news broke of his death. It's been an emotional roller coaster for me since that sad day. He was a dancer beyond comparison and sweetness beyond belief.

Carol Kennedy   July 7th, 2009 1:13 pm ET

Watching CNN in London -sad day for the world

I remember the Jackson 5 -watched Michael grow up

Bless him

RIP

Paul   July 7th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

Of course I am watching the live broadcast and it really saddens me to see this, He was ready to make his comeback and this happened and I still can't believe that he's gone, I have to say to that NY rep. it was'nt even worth remembering his name, remember this he was never convicted of the charges brought against him,you should be asamed of yourself for saying those things.REST IN PEACE MICHAEL

Paul   July 7th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

ashamed (correction)

Martine from Philadelphia   July 7th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

I have just heard on CNN a reporter say that she has received e-mails from people, saying that they love the old Michael, not the Michael from the last 10 years. What is that ? We are true Fans here we love Michael period. Unconditional love do you people know anything about that . Michael did and was crucified because of it. If you love him, you love him, but dont say you love him then but not now. We dont care to hear that. Not now. If it was any good left here on earth we have just lost a huge chunk of that good. I am really taking this his death hard. I can't stop crying. I will truly miss him. Michael Jackson R.I.P

Charlie Flen   July 7th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

This is a terrible day... one of the last vestiges of "Goodness" will be interred. The Peter Kings, Gloria Allreds and others who helped perpetuate the false accusations against Michael should listen to his music and ask themselves – where could those words and feelings have come from. Certainly not from the monster they would have us believe is Michael. They find it easy to believe such a thing of Michael but what if someone had made the accusation about... lets say their Mothers... no.. no... never could have happened. The only thing Michael is guilty of... is not taking his mother's advice. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DO CAUSE THE LIE BECOMES THE TRUTH! God Bless You Michael... we'll remember you always

Gina   July 7th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

Thank you for these updates. I appreciate the coverage by AC and CNN. During this difficult time, you've provided a moderate discourse about this tragedy and MJ's life. It has allowed me to rethink and refocus on his music. The last footage showed MJ at his best–he was the dance, he was the music. I loved his talent and now I can say his spirit, too. Michael was a precious jewel. He will always shine in our hearts.
Rest in peace, MJ.

Paul   July 7th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

I would like to respond to Michael Redmond " don't watch,it's your problem.

Susan   July 7th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

ty anderson for the updates...what a sad day...he was a gift to the world and will be missed by many...i love you michael and farewell...rest in peace and know that you were loved the world over...peace

Brendon Sturgeon   July 7th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

Micheal was not born into greatness, rather he was the greatness that was born in a small town, hardworking , common family , that spread his greatness and his star in his family and then the world.

R.I.P
MJ
Love from Canada

Helen Rigmaiden   July 7th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

I have a Victory tour program, a never used Life Magazine with Michael on the cover. Just remembering this talented young man. Thinking of the heart break of his family and the children. Love to the world on this day.

Marilza   July 7th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

The whole world will miss you Michael! God has a better place for you now. Rest in Peace. Lots of love!

Simone Issa   July 7th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

We here in Suriname are also watching Michael Jackson Memorial through CNN.
I have always been a great fan of Michael Jackson. Never missed anything from him.
A great singer,dancer, performer.
I will never forget the time that we saw the Victory Tour in Jacksonville.
We were so happy arriving in Miami from Suriname and ran to buy tickets not knowing that we will be sitting at the highest seating of the arena.Still, the greatest experience!!!

Paul   July 7th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

What is the name of the song Michael is singing in his final rehearsal?

Bud   July 7th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Michael needs to be put to rest at NEVERLAND!!! R.I.P. MICHAEL

Paul   July 7th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

I very much relate to "Man in the mirror" I had to look in the mirror many times myself.

chris sparkman   July 7th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Thank you Anderson Cooper for doing a excellent job during the funeral for MJ. And staying positive and respectful. This is my very first time sending a comment , cnn has a veiwer for life. Sending prayers to the Jackson family.

Alexandre From Brazil   July 7th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Watching Michael Jackson The Memorial on CNN International. Emotionally affecting.

Bud   July 7th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

He called Neverland home and home is where he needs to rest ,so Michael go in peace , rest in the deep sleep ,on one can hurt you anymore

chris sparkman   July 7th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

and to the millions of fans around the world play his music loud today and forever.

Ruth   July 7th, 2009 1:54 pm ET

As the world is waisting precious time mourning Michael Jackson who worked hard and made money which he he used to lead frugal and empty life, has anyone stopped and think about where he would spend eternity. He never professed that he accepted Christ as his Savior and therefore, not born again. EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN AGAIN, HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD. It is more than likely that Michael Jackson who is a pop king is spending his eternity in hell. No amount of eulogy will take him out from hell. Have you thought about here you will spend eternity.

CMR   July 7th, 2009 2:02 pm ET

Disappointed with CNN coverage.

John   July 7th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

Stop it already with the coverage!

MJ and OJ... two talented criminals. Enough said.

Melissa   July 7th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

Ugg... I can't stand the preacher crap.

Courtney Shackelford   July 7th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

I am so sorry to say this, but I really don't like Rev. Al Sharpton. He seems so FAKE & he seems to only support all things black and that isn't how your supposed to go through life. He needs to support multicultural things... On another note... RIP MJ :)

sharon-new mexico   July 7th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

"What you are may help others in ways you may never know. Your influence, like your shadow, extends to where you may never be." Michael's influence will live on...we miss him.

Reba Marr-Harrington   July 7th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

I grew up on the Jackson 5. I remember my family watching Michael Jackson on the Ed Sullivan Show. It seems I have loved him and his family forever. He is a star among stars, the greatest entertainer ever, and a loving person. Michael Jackson will be missed. I know I will miss him. Too soon, too soon. I find solace in knowing he is in the bosom of God. My prayers are with his family.

Brook Sheilds had the most beautiful things to say.

ALLEN GUTWIRTH   July 7th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

Who killed Michael Jackson...Michael Jackson killed Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson made up his mind to die. He couldn't stand getting older and being a shadow of his past self. He was a savvy enough businessman to understand that if he died at 60 or seventy the world's adoration wouldn't be their. He would just be an old entertainer that passed away. With death at fifty he would be frozen in time..a Global Icon. His fans would have memories for what he was and not what he has become.

karen mango   July 7th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

Brook Shields was the most sincere and emotional of the speakers. She spoke from her heart.

Julie   July 7th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

Why is the Local New Edition breaking in constantly with local news. So far I have missed most of Barry Gordy and of Martin Luther King II and his sister Bernice. This is absolutely ridiculous! Is the telecast going to be reshown for those of us who have local stations who are so inconsiderate as to break in to tell us about news that has now relavance or importance next to the service?

karen mango   July 7th, 2009 3:03 pm ET

Why did Al Sharpon make a comment about Jessie Jackson not being their today?

maggie   July 7th, 2009 3:04 pm ET

i am at work and do not have jave so i cant stream it in...sux! hopefully my bf has been recording this.. i luv u mj...

Gloria Valvasori   July 7th, 2009 3:06 pm ET

I thought this was supposed to be a memorial? Why is Sheilah Jackson Lee "preaching?" She is almost shouting at the audience!! as did Al Sharpton.... Uggg... stop the preaching !!!!

Aaron   July 7th, 2009 3:07 pm ET

This is the most incredible thing i have ever seen...I don't think Michael Jackson knew how much he was loved....but I am sure he does now

Aaron   July 7th, 2009 3:11 pm ET

To all those who take this time to speak badly of Michael Jackson I want you to know this...he was someones son someones father someones brother and there is a reason why millions of people are grieving over his passing...so those of you that have that hate in your heart ask yourself this how many people will grieve when you are gone?

karen mango   July 7th, 2009 3:14 pm ET

Did you notice that Jackson's daughter stood up and clapped when Al Sharpo stated her father was not a freak.

Evie   July 7th, 2009 3:23 pm ET

I watched the memorial today, and have to admit I cried like a baby.
I loved micheals music, he was one of a kind, a talent that has never been seen or will be seen again. Many of us never believed the stories we heard about child molesting, what parent would take money over justice if they truly believed he had molested their child.
I,t in my humble opinion was people out to make money off his kind innocent heart. And the media and people who pursued it with gusto for their own reasons, racism, jealousy whatever. They today will see their cruel behaviors haven't touched him and he is loved by those that matter his family and his fans and his children will grow up to know their father was the worlds greatest entertainer.
Micheal was above black or white, this is even more evident when you look at those he lovednmore than anyone, his children are white. Color isn't important, it is what is in the heart micheal didn't just believe that HE LIVED IT! a true innocent spirit!!!! He will be missed by so so many people.

Wayne H.   July 7th, 2009 3:30 pm ET

We were blessed to have Michael for the short time there he remained with us. God gave Michael great talents to see what Michael could do with them. God gave us Michael to see what we would do with him. Let us never forget the contribution that Michael Jackson gave to the entire world.

Monty   July 7th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

I am a midwesterner like Mike born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, he in Gary Indiana. I am six months older than Mike, I remember seeing the Jackson 5 in a talent show at a local High school. Mike and I were about 10 years old. needless to say I grew up with Mike. I named my brother after Mike., my father whom died when I was 14, he and I always sang and danced to the music of Mike and his brothers. Mike like a lot of midwesterners, dispise the thought of anyone hurting a child. we would take aggression upon anyone who did. The accusations against Mike, are lies and by no means is he capable of such a horrific ordeal. I love you Mike and you will forever live iin the souls of many. I'll see ya up their one day :
RIP, "Monty"

Ed Gary   July 7th, 2009 3:47 pm ET

Many, many, many thanks to CNN for their wonderful coverage of the Michael Jackson memorial. He will be very missed by us all. May his memory and music live forever.

It would be nice that after watching MJ memorial;
For 24 hrs we did not shoot, our fellow human beings,
wars should stop, killings should stop, at least for one day, can we do that? One world

Betsy Thompson   July 7th, 2009 3:52 pm ET

Hey, Kay!

Paris Michael spoke little, but she was the best of Memorial
Paris is breaking my heart too.
My co-workers to pretend to be working and not watching, they gave in with tears.

The whole event was very well done. It was a beautiful tribute, well organized, in the tone and measure in some ...

Well there shouldn't be a war to begin with, and that is his message. If you want war coverage look for another channel. Respect for CNN for honouring a real humanitarian.

To Pat: No one trying to belittle or degrade no single individual's trials or tribulations. Michael Jackson is a great man who entertained. He gave away millions of $$ to strangers. His contributions are no more or no less than anyone else. You don't get it and now I understand that as I write this. So forget that I even address this.

Shannon   July 7th, 2009 4:48 pm ET

I watched the entire service, with great respect for the family and the production.

As a life-long fan, I have my own memories of Michael and his awesome talent and humanitarian efforts.

I didn't shed a tear until Paris Michael Katherine went to the microphone and said how wonderful her daddy is.

As a daddy's girl myself, I know from personal experience that when Daddy dies you're never the same.

Whether it be 9 years or 3 weeks: we are never the same, but we are still loved by them.

We are their true legacy. Paris and her brothers know how wonderful their father was.

As a life long fan– those negative events hurt me. I could never understand why people wanted to hurt such a gentle soul.

The world is an emptier place without Michael Jackson's soul and spirit.

Rena   July 7th, 2009 4:49 pm ET

I have always loved Michael Jackson as a artist. I never believed anything negative that was said about him. Michael was a loving person. I got a chance see him in Memphis, TN on top of the Woolworth building. Michael, you will truly be missed. R.I.P.

US Rep. Sheryl Lee Jackson, I applaud you for addressing the nastiness of Rep. Peter King w/out mentioning his name. I salute you, Rep. Jackson. I know that yours and Rev. Al's comments aren't news-worthy but I heard you and Michael heard you.

Thank you CNN for your outstanding coverage on such a spectacular event that will go down in history, as one of the best tributes I have ever seen.

That was the proper way to remember Michael. LA & the event staff did a great job in putting this event together. It was presented to his family & fan's the way he should be remembered. It was the right speeches & son selections. It definitely help me get the tears out & say goodbye! Outstanding job!

What was the reason about Sikh Symbol ( KHANDA) in the back ground of the stars singing on Michael Jackson memorial. I think those golden signs were the religious signs. But I seen Sikh symbol was more highlighted.

This is for Congressman Pete King of NY in response to his U Tube submission:

What a mistake to condemn Michael Jackson in public after he was found "not guilty" in a court of law.
That tells me that you have no faith in the American Justice System. Being in the political position that you are, I'd think you'd be smarter than that and support our justice system rather than condemn it (as you have by saying you don't believe he is innocent).

You can kiss any ideas of re-election goodbye.

Good lord.. isn't it about time that people like you let this beautiful, loving, philanthropic man rest in peace?
He's given us so much, so as Michael himself said "Heal the World". Let's start with you.

nuoka   July 7th, 2009 5:30 pm ET

Michael we know there is a life higher than death.

Martine from Philadelphia   July 7th, 2009 6:03 pm ET

Its really funny that Michael's last performance on earth was They dont really care about us. Out of all the songs im sure he had to rehearse. Nothing is by accident . That was simply a message. Open your eyes people. They dont really care about us. Thank you Michael I get it.

Pam   July 7th, 2009 6:16 pm ET

Where were all the original "We Are The World" artists? Dionne Warwick, Tina Turner, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper? Those who were a part of the memorial today were great (Stevie, Lionel etc.) – but I wanted more of his contemporaries – more of 'our' contemporaries. Maybe I just wanted more Michael. Maybe for the first time since his death it became more personal than the loss of a world renowned superstar. Maybe I was suddenly struck by the loss of a chunk of my life. I needed to see more of the 50-somethings – I needed to cling on to something – I needed something to help fill the void – to help patch the hole that had finally found its way to my heart. I wanted. I needed. I yearned. Michael was more than Michael. He was a part of so many of us for nearly half of a century. And with his death, so goes an era. And even though I yearned for more of the originals today – I guess it's pretty cool to see how young and old, black and white, American and Asian...how the whole world has been influenced by him – a kind man, an extraordinary talent, a legend.

Annie Kate   July 7th, 2009 9:02 pm ET

My goodness Kay – you really provided a step by step review of the memorial service. Thanks for sharing!!

della reese edwards   July 7th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

There's a song Holy Night – This was Holy Day – I know the tears won't bring Michael Jackson, back to us – the fans who loved him so much. Thank you, Jackson Family, for sharing your today with us. We will Never Forget Michael – No matter what – We will Never Forget him.
