Good Monday evening, everyone. Tomorrow's memorial service is shaping up to be some event. It should be a great tribute to Michael Jackson with his family, friends, and droves of fans.

I am so relieved the SC serial killer is no longer terrorizing those in SC and NC.

5 doctors...sounds about right to me for this man and his fixations.
My question is will MJ himself be held accountable too for what choices he made? Rather than just looking for which 'enablers' to blame? He was a grown man, he was 50 years old, he was a parent....he must bear some responsibility for his own situation. I hear almost no one talk about that.

Yes, the doctors were negligent, but Jackson wasn't a child, he was a 50 year old man and should have taken more responsibility for his own health. He should have informed himself. It is easy enough to do in this day and age.

I don't blame Debbie Rowe for her outburst. Having cameras shoved in her face must have been annoying. The paparazzi were obviously provoking her with their questions.

Michael Jackson knew what he was doing when he created that will. There needs to be a professional handling the amount of assets and not family members who don't know anything and whose lawyers I am sure are just looking at the money.

Maybe Michael was thinking about his kids... to have a professional handle the estate instead of his mom who is probably not qualified... It's amazing how fast people can run through your money if you don't know what to look for, and then the kids would suffer.

There ought to be enough money to come from MJ's future sales to make all legitimate heirs very rich. Let's hope they can share with each other and live happily ever after.

The reason the executorship didn't go to his mother was maybe Michael thought the Daddy would get his hands on it, that would be my guess on why she wasn't named to control his estate. She has 40%, the kids have 40% and the rest to others and charities, what does she have to worry about, of course it best to have the whole thing which I know the Whole Family including the other brothers/sisters and Daddy would want but thats the way it goes. Those lawyers will get rich managing it though

Lawyers are best to handle MJ's estate, to ensure that his heirs are financially stable. I am sorry Mama Katherine:(

It would appear that MJ's good business sense has proved itself again in his will. Seems like the executors are well suited to serve the wishes of MJ and cooperate with the family.

Oh yes, i'd say several doctors may be quacking in the boots right now. Although i agree with several other bloggers that MJ was a 50 yr. old man and some responsibility belongs to him too.

i want to know if it could have been possible if someone planted the drug that was later on found in his home. it seems kind of suspicious that when he first died the police went into the house and i know they didn't declare it a scene or whatever they call it but i think someone planted the drug in his house because as the news reports showed over the last couple of days, it showed that the investigators took bags out of his house, so if they searched and cleaned out his house why now has it appeared that all of a sudden that powerful drug was found in his home. something is not adding up to me.

Michael seems to have intentionally left his father out of his will but doesn't California law stipulate that married couples share half of everything; even if his parents were to divorce, I think his dad would get his half of Katherine's 40 percent (?)

My question or comment is why hasn't anyone said anything about the timing of MJ death. Everyone is talking about the drug Propal and they said he was awake and up when he collapsed in the early afternoon. I dont think he would have been able to be awake. Something does sound right.......Also was does long term use of this anestesia do to the body?

What is worse about this is that the MSM is ignoring this fact and is making Jackson into some type of hero. What kind of a message does this send?

On Craigslist.com, evildoers are selling MJ items for thousands of dollars! One blogger is asking $20,000 for the vinyl of Thriller. Very sad!

Just don't get it. Firing teachers in LA, but we come up with the money to pay for Michael Jackson's funeral/tribute. This is just so wrong.

Has there been any word of how the children are making out since their dad died? I know a tribute is much deserved, but it's been 12 days since they lost their dad. No one has asked any folks from the inner circle how they are doing.

Michael Jackson was a huge, unique, and awsome person and entertainer. May God rest is soul, and may his memeorial be peaceful and full of the love he so freely gave to the world.

I'm thinking this Forest Lawn Cemetery thing in the morning is just a decoy.

It's been almost 2 weeks and there is now a video being distributed with the Ghost of M.J. (footage from Larry King Live at the Neverland Ranch). I give it 2 more weeks before someone tries to sell a slice of toast with M.J.'s portrait burnt into it on E-BAY.

Undoubtedly they will find one or more doctors guilty of providing the wrong drugs or too many drugs, and they will be the 'villians' who 'killed' Michael. In reality, Michael killed himself.

I remember when he was going to court in Santa Maria it was jam packed, parking was up to my house. I can't imagine how it'll be tomorrow at the Staples Center.

I don't understand why we needed to include our zip code. Did they purposely pick people from L.A. or did they pick people from all over the USA? How random was the selection? i hope tomorrow will be a dignified and appropriate event, one that would be respectful to the memory of an American icon. People of color, especially, understand his struggle with self-identity and, at times, self-loathing. In his interview with Martin Bashir he said, :"It hurts to be me." Let us respect and memorialize his life and his incredible talent.

I plan to watch the MJ Memorial Service on CNN from the comfort of my home.
Listening to the Jackson brothers and other Motown greats will bring back so many emotions from my childhood.
I hope the city of L.A. will survive the onslaught of fans.
I am sure there will be a future DVD of the event.

At the age of 57, I remember vividly the first time I heard Michael Jackson and the others sing... It was magical. Their voices, especially Michaels, not quite mature, but had so much presence.

Michael's death is still hard for me to comprehend. There are so many stories that people are sharing, the good and the not so good about this talented, troubled child of God.

Despite what is being said, Michael in my eyes is an angel. God bless you Michael, you were loved by many and will be tremendously missed!!!

What time will the ceremony be shown on the east coast?

I find it hard to believe the family would not consider a viewing of Michael Jackson's body for his fans that have come from around the world. I understand the family may not want more chaos, but shouldn't the people who helped make him the ICON he is, get closure also? I, for one, loved him and no matter how some of the media portray him as a "drug abuser/child molester", he was loved by millions of people around the world.

In all the coverage on the Michael Jackson story, I think you have made no mention whatsoever (unless I somehow missed it), of what exactly the other family members do for a living. We know that Janet has had some success, but is it safe to assume that all the other family members were being supported by Michael's money? I would be interested in hearing about this. Thanks.

Even if addiction was the cause of death, what purpose does it serve to trash the man's memory? Addiction is a disease like other. It takes control of the person until that person is ready to get help to gain his or her life back. Did his docs even know he was playing them? Will they be held responsible for their part? Will he be remembered for the great music or the drugs? I choose to remember the music.

MJ's lawyer said today there will be no feud. I want believe him and so far have no reason to. Katherine, MJ's kids & family, my thoughts & prayers are with you.

@Jo Ann North Royalton, OH – not sure when you have a substance abuse problem it is as easy as being grown up and taking responsibility for yourself. Even going through a program doesn't guarantee you staying clean. Its a hard thing to get by and I give those who do a huge pat on the back. Maybe it just wasn't that easy for him to do.

Debbie Rowe is to harsh to have Michael Jackson's children. They cannot go from the soft spoken Jackson family to that.

I am a Michael Jackson fan...however...I think of how much good could be done in our world with the amount of media and MONEY that is being used in the last week.

i went too school with michael jackson,tito and jermain in van nuys california,back in the early 70's,he was a wondeful quiet kid,very nice too talk with,and the brothers tito and jermain even taught me too play guitar andpaino,I have fond memories of my time in school with the jacksons,and i cherish the memories,michael had a soft,easy,quiet and gentle manner about him,and even then you could sense his great talent and good heart>I greatly miss him,and wish the family my very best!!!

I still can't believe that Michael is gone. I know people are tired of the coverage but not me. I want to know all that is going on. The shock still hasn't worn off.

this serial killer case reminds me of one in the mid 1990s in Spokane, the guy buried the bodies in his backyard under an apple tree, and a nice little old lady, unsuspecting made pies out of them!

Jeffrey Toobin just listed several celebrities who died with drug related issues. He listed Anna Nicole Smith, Elvis, then Rush Limbaugh. What in the world is he talking about? Rush Limbaugh is dead? I know the republican party may be dead but I'm pretty sure Rush is still around.

MJ was many of things but lets remember he was someone child, father and brother. He was also a person that helped many. He gave away more money than any entertainer. He did look in the mirror and tried to make a change in this world RIP.

mj does have some responsibility but the doctors are held to a higher standard by virtue ot them being doctors. it's so easy to get hooked on these prescriptions. doctors are lured by money and being around a celebrity – not wanting to deny him. mj showed good jmt in letting experienced entertainmt lawyers to run his business not blood thirsty relatives who could influence poor sweet katherine.

CNN's coverage is all I would have asked for. You have handled the stories about Micheal Jackson with Dignity and professional at all times. There are going to be people from all over the world who disagree, but really that is their problem, and theirs alone. Larry King Live and Anderson 360 are excellent and you should be commended greatly. Micheal is a STAR who will be missed, but his Legacy will live on forever. My heartfelt sympathies to the whole Jackson Family, but especially the Children, because that is what it is all about. It is a complete shame that they were never able to see their father perform live. He will live in their hearts forever. He was a great father and a great entertainer. He will be missed.

First there will be the final autopsy findings, which will probably be released near his bday (8.29).
Then the media will play into his bday and the various fan celebrations and vigils marking it.
Then it will die down a little bit, but finally pick up again near Christmas, when a DVD collection of his greatest hits, the video from his final rehearsal and, last, but not; least – video clips from the memorial service – all for the low, low price of $29.95 (+s/h)...

I am still trying to figure out how moving vans came and took MJ processions, Janet took out a lot of belongings, Police took 2 bags out with medications and after a week the Feds come in and find a surgical drug. Now we have 3 more search warrants....guess the housekeeper/cleaners took a 2 week vacation. Seems odd to me so many people coming and going and no one found the hard stuff until after a week.

I know that the memorial service for Michael Jackson will be wonderful. I only wish that I could be there in person to see it.

Many people loved Michael. He and I were born on the same day.
I am allergic to demoryl and it freaked me out when I heard that medication mentioned early after his death.

I still cant believe when I hear MJ singing, never had that feeling with any other celebrity passing. I wouldn't let my kids go to his house but I' would've taken 'em to his concert.

I am wondering about the physician involved in this case. There has been discussion about the Propofol and the fact that it should not be in the home. I also feel that Demerol should not be in the home either in any form other than pill form. Would you agree that the physician should not be in the home administering even the narcotic as an injection in a patient that is not terminal? You run the risk of suppressed respiratory effort even with the Demerol as well as the Propofol. It has been rumored that he was receiving narcotics in injectable form from these physicians and that should not be.

The lawyers seem to have been a wise choice for the estate.

Ultimately, if Debbie Rowe gets the two older Jackson children, what happens to the youngest one? Personally, I think it would be a crime to split the kids up. Why hasn't the news media address this question?

Don't be fooled, most of those performers that are going to be there at the memorial are there to be seen and to promote themselves.

Seems to make sense for Michael Jackson to have capable knowledgable people as executors of his will. That shows his acumen in business and responsible judgement. That's not easy for everyone who achieves such worldwide success.

When I first saw the Debbie Rowe clip, I thought it was CNN badgering her! Everyone wants the 'story'...well, at least the story the media thinks we want to see. I personally know several 50 year old men who died in their sleep, jogging, sitting at their desk at work. Well , there will be millions of people watching the MJ memorial and it will bring lots of tourists to LA in the future. So if it costs the city a couple of millions , they will get it back tenfolds. You know , fans from all over the world will flock to wherever Jackson is buried . It will be a moneymaker for LA in the long run. Why does nobody mention that?

All I can say is you can't change it at the funeral home....he has lived his life...granted not without fault...but who is without fault...he gave plenty and it is time to let him rest in peace...peace from the media...the nay sayers and all the ugly stuff...people take a minute and think of the good...He was and will be one of a kind...

It takes a catastrophy for people to come together. The significance of MJ's death is that he apparently touched all of us in a profound way. Everyone wants to be with him and part of this so he will know how much he was loved.

There have been comparisons made between MJ's death and Anna Nicole's; I made the connection with Ledger's death because friends/associates that were interviewed said he too regularly took meds to try to sleep. Is seems as if these talented individuals can't get their creativity to turn off at night and get the REMs they need (?) ...sad

I don't think that one person, including Michael himself, can be blamed for his death. There are always many involved and the reasons are countless. Yes he took the drugs, but something drove him to that and there were doctors giving them to him. Why do we need to find a person to point our fingers at? He is gone, let him rest in peace and stop this circus please!!!

I hope the court is as consistant in honoring Michaels wishes as it pertains to custody of his children as they were in keeping his named executors for his estate. One guy AC was speaking with said something to the effect of "how the estate will be exploited", was that a slip of the tongue.

I think Michael Jackson did the right thing by appointing his attorney as the executor of his estate. Of course the family is concerned about the future image of Michael and his legacy, but the legal business needs to be handled by someone who is as competent as his attorney. Michael has known him for a very long time and he's handled many of his business ventures in the past. 40% to the mother, 40% for the children and 20% for various charities. When they say that Michael was a shrewd business man.......believe it.

I keep hearing everyone talking about how Michael Jackson's Memorial Service is going to cost the city of LA. However what about the money it is going to make from those coming. As far as I know there are taxes on hotels and food. Not to mention that the Jackson family it self has 9,000 guest those people are staying somewhere and eating somewhere. I think the city of LA is going to make plenty of money off this event and will make even more in months and years to come.

Today in one of the news media the LA police chief was asking for people to help pay the cost for the memorial, like when LA had the Laker parade. Well, why not ask Michael's personal friends to make donations to help pay the cost that will probably exceed what the city has set aside for events like this that might happen. Why don't our investigative reporters ask Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Usher, Mariah Carey, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and all the other people who have spoken about him personally and said he was a good friend to donate not only their time but money.

I feel sorry for the family. What a circus? I know they are used to it but when it all stops and they finally realize a loved one is gone, they will crash. I wasn't a big MJ fan but loss is a very hard thing to come to terms with.

Palin will not have any kind of political leadership value. She will be great behind the scenes, pushing for causes and politicians she supports, and that way she will be able to keep her family out of the limelight. Busy paying off bills. Boring? Will see.

Michael did not "kill" himself. MJ did not take an oath to first do no harm. The doctor did. The doctor should have said NO. Any doctor that would prescribe that type of medication for home use, should be in jail.

I think the LAPD should look more into Dr. M. After all, he was the last one to be with Michael before he died. Dr. M said himself that MJ wanted him to stay with him that night because he did not feel well. If you really think about that statement, MJ needed someone to monitor him for the IV medication during the night. The question is why did it take Dr. M half an hour to call 911. I wonder if the police ever found the IV bag and needle. They would not if part of that 30 min was used to hide them. I am not pointing a finger but Dr. M's lawyer complained that Dr. M did not get paid for 2 months and MJ owed him $300K. Just speculating this whole scenario but if this in fact did happen this way, the tragic outcome was probably not intentional. It was probably done at MJ's request to help him sleep. Again, this is just speculation.

Michel should be buried at Neverland just as Elvis is buried at Graceland, on private property.

Why is the city of L.A. so concerned about who is going to pay for the cost of the memorial for Michael Jackson, are they forgetting how much revenue was brought into that city in the past when he performed live concerts and how much revenue will be coming in the next few days from thousands of people wanting to just be there at this historic time, people will have expenses and that will bring in a great deal of monies I am sure to cover the costs.

My family and friends are all planning to stay up all night (12-4am APAC time) to watch the memorial live on CNN. In fact my mom had just called and asked me to buy a tape for her to record this on her VCR! She is still using VCR, just like Anderson's mom!

I presume some people have to work, take care of kids, etc. tomorrow....not everyone can or would let all that go to watch this 'memorial' on TV or stand in line at Forrest Lawn! I always wonder who those people are?! I'm sure plenty of people who still go to work tomorrow or take care of their kids loved MJ just as much....maybe more, in some cases. Not everyone needs to express it through melodrama!

Why are so many people calling foul when it comes to how much taxpayer money will be spent to organize and police tomorrow's memorial. Huge amounts of money that will pour into the local economy by perhapes half a million people, descending on L.A. from not only other parts of the U.S., but from around the world. From Hotels to restaurants, to car rentals, to just about any retail outlet. Surely the most prosperous week L.A. will have seen in a long time!

I just wanted to say that I respect Elizabeth Taylor's decision and reasons for not attending. Pretty classy to me.

The only way to trace the medicaiton that was given to MJ is to look at the manufacturere and obtain the Lot Number. This needs to be traced from the initial pharmaceutical manufacturer to the transport, delivery, and final acceptance of the medication.

What hospital/clinic was it shipped to? Who was there (MJ/Friend/Agent) when the medication was there? Who had access to the medication? How could it have moved from the hosiptal supply to the private posession of MJ?

This is not a controlled substance, so looking at the State Pharmacy Records of Controlled Substance is a waste of time unless the information looked for is the other controlled medication MJ was using. It will, however, not show the IV medication.

It's been a long 12 days of eveything going on after the death of Micheal Jackson, if you really take a good look at all this, in his last appearance in London he was dressed really nice, and he held his hand over his heart, waved at the fans, With a back drop heading that read, "THIS IS IT", how sad a few days later it was over....Micheal Jackson was tired and probably did want to get some sleep, unfortunately however it happen he did not wake up this time!!! I do hope that his death was not due to the fact that a medical doc gave him to much medication that would help him sleep. This will always remain a mystery even after the autopsy report comes back. You're reporting on the COST of the Michael Jackson memorial to the city of Los Angeles. What about the REVENUE that Michael Jackson has brought to the city in the last week?? Even in death, he's brought millions of dollars of tourism revenue to the city by the thousands of fans, reporters, entrepreneurs, etc. who've been eating, sleeping, shopping, and travelling in the city since June 25.

Also, if the Jackson family should pay for some or all of Los Angeles' cost for providing the services its supposed to, so should the record companies who have made billions on the sale of his albums since June 25. How about the news and TV shows whose viewership (and, as a result, advertising dollars) have increased .

David Gergen, you're right, the US should be doing more to sanction Iran. The inaction on Iran and North Korea is very distressing. It seems the administration thinks being popular is more important than doing the right thing.

Jasmine, I think we are making progress. Russia has agreed to let our planes use their airspace.

We (friends & family) are somewhat relieved that Pres Obama has reached out to /Russia and they seem to be responding somewhat positively (ie. fly over rights for our troops and equipment to Afganistan).

As far as Iran, we do not know what is going on behind the scenes with many other countries yet. Hopefully, Russia (& maybe China) will join with much of the global community to try to do something effective in Iran.

I think that Michael Jackson was laid to rest today. There were private or offical helicopters seen flying over the Burbank going toward Glendale, CA this afternoon. Coincidently, two of Forest Lawn's properties – one in Glendale, CA and another in the Hollywood Hills are both located in the same area.

Wasn't a helicopter used to transport Michael's body to the Coroner’s office in Los Angeles last week?

I hope they show the highlights of Michael's career in video and photos on a big screen as well as guest artist.

Wake up everyone. Sarah is $500,000 in debt for legal fees alone to fight all her battles. By my calculation, she and her family are about to financially lose everything. @Diego, I think Michael Jackson was responsible for all the problems in Michael Jackson's life. Sure he had an abusive father, but he made the choices himself that led him where he is today.

Sarah Palin has earned the media scrutiny surrounding her. On the heels of her quitting her role as Governor, we should really be talking about her long history of quitting (colleges, elected posts) and why anyone would even want her as a prospective future presidential nominee to begin with? How can anyone defend her actions? Sarah Palin represents media driven "style over substance"- nothing more. We should demand better and stop giving her so much attention.

I am sure the Jacksons will contribute to the costs, however, let's not forget: They did not ask for this, I'm sure they weren't expecting it and would give anything for this to not have happened. This is their Son, father & brother. A human being loved & revered by millions. It is the fans & media making this as big as it is. Personally, I think it's wonderful that true believers in MJ are showing how much he meant to us.

Anderson, I sincerely hope that Ms. Palin will leave public service. During the Presidential campaign I watched her fan the flames of racism and hatred. Her running mate,in contrast, always put a stop to misinformed slurs of that nature when faced with them in public forums. I felt she represented a dangerous force in this country.

People need to move on after the funeral of Michael Jackson yes he will be a legend, icon, and an incredible performer but we need to move on people!!!!! There are much more important things in the world.

Palin espouses core Republican values, family values, respect for life, smaller government, strong defense, personal responsibility, oil independence, and so on. But could she lead and get anything done?

I can't say that I'm upset that Sarah Palin is gone (if she really is gone, which would be great) however I am sad that she was treated so badly during her time in the public arena. I think that John McCain and his political team did a great disservice to Mrs. Palin and the country by introducing her so abruptly into the national political spectrum.

Hello everyone - At a time when some critics are attacking the media for too much coverage of Michael Jackson, it is fascinating to read your comments tonight and find how many of you are glued - and how much you appreciate the approach that CNN has taken in its reports.

In the meantime, I was personally appreciative tonight that Anderson took some time out tonight for reflections upon the life of Robert McNamara - a man whose triumphs and tragedies as a public service had an enormous impact upon the nation in the 60s and 70s.
Anderson mentioned the film, The Fog of War, which contains some excellent insights by McNamara - recommend it!

The Steve McNair story is such a tragedy.
