July 6th, 2009 10:03 pm ET 5 doctors. Isn't that a lot of doctors unless you are sick. |
|
| Cynthia, NC |
July 6th, 2009 10:03 pm ET Good Monday evening, everyone. Tomorrow's memorial service is shaping up to be some event. It should be a great tribute to Michael Jackson with his family, friends, and droves of fans. I am so relieved the SC serial killer is no longer terrorizing those in SC and NC. |

July 6th, 2009 10:04 pm ET Anderson – I have not heard anyone discuss the significance (if there is any) of the different 'arm bands' that Michael wore on many of his costumes – did they have any significance? |

July 6th, 2009 10:04 pm ET 4th was great. Looking forward to all the news tonight. Seems to be plenty of it! |

July 6th, 2009 10:05 pm ET Hello everyone!! Another week begins! |

| Mike, Syracuse, NY |
July 6th, 2009 10:06 pm ET The best thing Michael Jackson did was make the executors be competent non-family members. |
|
| Nancy in Oregon |
July 6th, 2009 10:06 pm ET 5 doctors...sounds about right to me for this man and his fixations. |
|
| Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio |
July 6th, 2009 10:06 pm ET Yes, the doctors were negligent, but Jackson wasn't a child, he was a 50 year old man and should have taken more responsibility for his own health. He should have informed himself. It is easy enough to do in this day and age. |
|
| Michelle |
July 6th, 2009 10:06 pm ET Did he just say 1 billion dollars ? |
|
| Sandra Robertson, GA |
July 6th, 2009 10:06 pm ET Good evening Anderson, Erica and Randi. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. I went swimming in the ocean; too much sun though. Seems to me Debbie Rowe has a problem with self-control. Gee! |
|
| Emma |
July 6th, 2009 10:08 pm ET I don't blame Debbie Rowe for her outburst. Having cameras shoved in her face must have been annoying. The paparazzi were obviously provoking her with their questions. |
|
| Krasi |
July 6th, 2009 10:08 pm ET Michael Jackson knew what he was doing when he created that will. There needs to be a professional handling the amount of assets and not family members who don't know anything and whose lawyers I am sure are just looking at the money. |
|
| Kevin Charlton |
July 6th, 2009 10:08 pm ET Hello fellow CNN bloggers MJ memorial lastest. I found ticket resale/auction bids, 9 of them for tickets up to $99,000! |
|
| Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio |
July 6th, 2009 10:08 pm ET Mike, Syracuse, NY, I agree, but it will make for a ginormous family feud. Let the games begin! |
|
| claude |
July 6th, 2009 10:09 pm ET My O My Debbie wow Talk about attitude . Tomorrow will be a circus. Love you Micheal RIP |
|
| Kelly - Harrisburg, PA |
July 6th, 2009 10:09 pm ET Maybe Michael was thinking about his kids... to have a professional handle the estate instead of his mom who is probably not qualified... It's amazing how fast people can run through your money if you don't know what to look for, and then the kids would suffer. |
|
| Mike, Syracuse, NY |
July 6th, 2009 10:09 pm ET @Nancy, no Michael Jackson is being made the victim, not being held accountable. He appears to have doctor shopped to get more drugs. |
|
| Nancy in Oregon |
July 6th, 2009 10:09 pm ET I agree Jo Ann...family was also negligent, friends. At the end of the day, MJ himself also is responsible. |
|
CNN |
July 6th, 2009 10:09 pm ET Five doctors does sound like a lot – of course, we don't know what each Dr may have been for, not whether they were all involved with MJ at the same time. So many questions!! |
|
| Tammy, Houma, LA |
July 6th, 2009 10:09 pm ET Hi everyone, Michael Jackson probably didn't put his family in charge for a reason. I'll be glad when the man is buried, the cause of death is discovered (hopefully), and he can find peace. |
|
| nikki |
July 6th, 2009 10:10 pm ET when adding all his assets, what about all the items that the family removed with the moving vans. They barely got the news and were there with the vans. how do you add whats missing |
|
| Steve - southern Illinois |
July 6th, 2009 10:10 pm ET There ought to be enough money to come from MJ's future sales to make all legitimate heirs very rich. Let's hope they can share with each other and live happily ever after. |
|
| Carmella |
July 6th, 2009 10:10 pm ET Suppose MJ paid cash for the drugs? Or an alias got the drugs and paid cash? |

July 6th, 2009 10:10 pm ET Greetings to All! I hope everyone had a great 4th!! |
|
| Linda |
July 6th, 2009 10:10 pm ET The reason the executorship didn't go to his mother was maybe Michael thought the Daddy would get his hands on it, that would be my guess on why she wasn't named to control his estate. She has 40%, the kids have 40% and the rest to others and charities, what does she have to worry about, of course it best to have the whole thing which I know the Whole Family including the other brothers/sisters and Daddy would want but thats the way it goes. Those lawyers will get rich managing it though |
|
| Wanza |
July 6th, 2009 10:11 pm ET Lawyers are best to handle MJ's estate, to ensure that his heirs are financially stable. I am sorry Mama Katherine:( |
|
| BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX |
July 6th, 2009 10:11 pm ET Five doctors! Wow! Someone needed meds at all cost! |
|
| Michelle |
July 6th, 2009 10:11 pm ET This is beyond a death investigation. The nurse |
|
| Gloria, Brooklyn, NY |
July 6th, 2009 10:11 pm ET Five doctors could be specialists. |
|
| starr formerly known as vincent |
July 6th, 2009 10:11 pm ET It would appear that MJ's good business sense has proved itself again in his will. Seems like the executors are well suited to serve the wishes of MJ and cooperate with the family. Oh yes, i'd say several doctors may be quacking in the boots right now. Although i agree with several other bloggers that MJ was a 50 yr. old man and some responsibility belongs to him too. |
|
| Perry |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET Wow! I hope that tomorrow goes well... |
|
| Nancy in Oregon |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET I'm afraid I agree, Mike. He is being 'spun' as a victim. |
|
| meka,ga |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET i want to know if it could have been possible if someone planted the drug that was later on found in his home. it seems kind of suspicious that when he first died the police went into the house and i know they didn't declare it a scene or whatever they call it but i think someone planted the drug in his house because as the news reports showed over the last couple of days, it showed that the investigators took bags out of his house, so if they searched and cleaned out his house why now has it appeared that all of a sudden that powerful drug was found in his home. something is not adding up to me. |
|
| Mike, Syracuse, NY |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET @Jo Ann, I'd rather skip the family feud. The sooner MJ is no longer the main news story, the better. |
|
| debbiebroe |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET Michael seems to have intentionally left his father out of his will but doesn't California law stipulate that married couples share half of everything; even if his parents were to divorce, I think his dad would get his half of Katherine's 40 percent (?) |
|
| danielle rivera |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET My question or comment is why hasn't anyone said anything about the timing of MJ death. Everyone is talking about the drug Propal and they said he was awake and up when he collapsed in the early afternoon. I dont think he would have been able to be awake. Something does sound right.......Also was does long term use of this anestesia do to the body? |
|
| kim-chicago |
July 6th, 2009 10:12 pm ET It's amazing how many vultures and creeps seem to surface in these tragic "celebrity" stories. |
|
| Jasmine |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET is it sad that I can say, I've gotten used to Police shootouts and standoffs? D: |
|
| Linda |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET So many feel left out of the service for Michael. So unfortunate that there will not be a public viewing as was originally planned. |
|
| Kar |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET What happens to Katherine Jackson's 40% after she passes on? Joe gets it? the rest of her children? All her Grandchildren? It should go into the trust for Michael's 3 children. |
|
| Paula, Colorado |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET Anderson, |
|
| Nancy in Oregon |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET Yep, Betty Ann-meds and attention. |
|
| Jackie Cole |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET It takes a lot of doctors so the right hand doesn't know what the left hand was doing. Had a fantastic fourth, made my grandpa's secret recipe homemade ice cream. yuuuuummmmm. |
|
| Tony |
July 6th, 2009 10:13 pm ET Where is Michael Jacksons body at?? Is it at Forest Lawn now?? |
|
| David, Indiana |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Evening Anderson, Erica, Isabel. A lot to find out about possible prescriptions but not confirmed yet, bet that involves a lot of footwork and phone calls. After listening to Jeffery Toobin, I realize this is even more complicated to track down than I at first thought. That's great the photographers looking for an outburst from Debbie Rowe. |
|
| Kevin |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Michael Jackson will be missed, but I am getting bored of this coverage. |
|
| Sadie |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET I hope this memorial will conclude the circus that Michael's death has become. Yes he was a genius but the news coverage has gone way over board. Thank you. |
|
| Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Mike, Syracuse, NY, This always happens when a celebrity dies of an overdose. Everyone is blamed except the celebrity who voluntarily takes the drugs. What is worse about this is that the MSM is ignoring this fact and is making Jackson into some type of hero. What kind of a message does this send? |
|
| Wanza |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET On Craigslist.com, evildoers are selling MJ items for thousands of dollars! One blogger is asking $20,000 for the vinyl of Thriller. Very sad! |
|
| Jim Huppenthal |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Just don't get it. Firing teachers in LA, but we come up with the money to pay for Michael Jackson's funeral/tribute. This is just so wrong. |
|
| Mark Gunn, Louisville, Ky. |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET You look at the moves Jackson was making, sans the medication, amd you have to wonder "what if" |
|
| Sarah |
July 6th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Will the memorial have an open casket? |
|
| cindy |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET Has there been any word of how the children are making out since their dad died? I know a tribute is much deserved, but it's been 12 days since they lost their dad. No one has asked any folks from the inner circle how they are doing. |
|
| James |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET Did he died? |
|
| Sharon Hastings |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET It sounds like the doctor investigation is well under way. I think it's going to turn out much as we suspect. It's so tragic because it didn't have to happen. |
|
| Jen Virginia |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET Has anyone else heard the jackson family had a private memorial at the forest cemetary tonight and fooled everyone? |

July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET anderson i love your commentary . !! I just want to say its going to be a zoo tomorrow |

| Michelle in L.A |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET Michael Jackson was a huge, unique, and awsome person and entertainer. May God rest is soul, and may his memeorial be peaceful and full of the love he so freely gave to the world. |

| Steve - southern Illinois |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET I'm thinking this Forest Lawn Cemetery thing in the morning is just a decoy. |
|
| G Irvine |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET It's been almost 2 weeks and there is now a video being distributed with the Ghost of M.J. (footage from Larry King Live at the Neverland Ranch). I give it 2 more weeks before someone tries to sell a slice of toast with M.J.'s portrait burnt into it on E-BAY. Graham from Ottawa Canada |

| kellie |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET All I can say is that I will be glad when this memorial service is over... this is way too much. I think that America sometimes has it values messed up. Why are we celebrating this guy again?? Too much already |
|
| Mike, Syracuse, NY |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET Undoubtedly they will find one or more doctors guilty of providing the wrong drugs or too many drugs, and they will be the 'villians' who 'killed' Michael. In reality, Michael killed himself. |
|
| Beto, Santa Maria |
July 6th, 2009 10:15 pm ET I remember when he was going to court in Santa Maria it was jam packed, parking was up to my house. I can't imagine how it'll be tomorrow at the Staples Center. |
|
| Paddie |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET I wonder how much tax revenue this memorial has already generated for the city L.A. |
|
| Krasi |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET So glad that guy is gone! So scary to know that such a person is on the loose. |

July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Will the Jackson family have to pay for the security, police, etc on Tuesday? |
|
| courtney |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET I don't understand why we needed to include our zip code. Did they purposely pick people from L.A. or did they pick people from all over the USA? How random was the selection? It pains me to know that some people who did win those tickets are trying to capitalize on Michael's death. The whole situation is upsetting. |

July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Erica – you are right – so many questions. Such as – how many different meds was he working those 5 docs for? How many scripts of the same meds were issued. |
|
| Sarah |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Will the memorial tomorow include the casket of MJ?? I did read speculation it could be open....is this true? |
|
| Luis Rodriguez |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Anderson, No mention of Miss Diana Ross, whether she will attend, perform tomorrow etc. or any feed back from her regarding being named in Michaels Will.. |
|
| D. Johnson |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Who are the doctors that gave the drugs this to Michael? We have a right to know!!! |
|
| Dolores |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET I hope Anderson will return to NEWS come Wednesday; and leave MJ to REAL tabloid shows. Love MJ, but I expect news from Anderson, NOT what he's been doing since MJ died. |
|
| LorenaR |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET i hope tomorrow will be a dignified and appropriate event, one that would be respectful to the memory of an American icon. People of color, especially, understand his struggle with self-identity and, at times, self-loathing. In his interview with Martin Bashir he said, :"It hurts to be me." Let us respect and memorialize his life and his incredible talent. |
|
| DawnMD |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Hello Anderson & Erica, |
|
| Marlene Graham |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET At the age of 57, I remember vividly the first time I heard Michael Jackson and the others sing... It was magical. Their voices, especially Michaels, not quite mature, but had so much presence. Michael's death is still hard for me to comprehend. There are so many stories that people are sharing, the good and the not so good about this talented, troubled child of God. Despite what is being said, Michael in my eyes is an angel. God bless you Michael, you were loved by many and will be tremendously missed!!! |
|
| JC1263 |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET What time will the ceremony be shown on the east coast? |
|
| Chauntae |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET I find it hard to believe the family would not consider a viewing of Michael Jackson's body for his fans that have come from around the world. I understand the family may not want more chaos, but shouldn't the people who helped make him the ICON he is, get closure also? I, for one, loved him and no matter how some of the media portray him as a "drug abuser/child molester", he was loved by millions of people around the world. |
|
| Pete Pandit |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET In all the coverage on the Michael Jackson story, I think you have made no mention whatsoever (unless I somehow missed it), of what exactly the other family members do for a living. We know that Janet has had some success, but is it safe to assume that all the other family members were being supported by Michael's money? I would be interested in hearing about this. Thanks. |
|
| maria |
July 6th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Is Diana Ross attending the memorial? No one mentions her at all. |
|
| Carmella |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET I am so glad Jennifer Hudson has been ask to pay tribute to MJ. She has the spirit for such a memorial. |

| Debbie, Texas |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET Good evening everyone!! Hope your weekend was wonderful. Debbiebroe– yes, Cali is Community property. I heard though that the clause is if something happens to Katherine, the children get her 40% |
|
| Mike, Syracuse, NY |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET I wonder what set off this serial killer. It's odd that he went nuts over 9 days. |
|
| Nancy |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET It's so weird to me that Michael didn't want to pass on his DNA. If he had, Prince, Paris, and Blanket might have inherited his musical genius. |
|
| DeeDee |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET Just hope that the family will be able to grieve in privacy and that people leave them alone after the memorial. True he is gone but he will not be forgotten. Just let the man rest in peace. |
|
| michele |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET hey Anderson.... how much of the memorial is gonna be blocked by commericals??? thats my only disappointement...that this won't be commerical free...they asked people to stay home and watch it on television....sure ok...but we all know there's 20 minute commericals every minute.... |
|
| Jasmine |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET @Jim, you would think the celebs would be kind and help California for once....I can't understand the morals and ethics behind that.... |
|
| Elaine |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET RE Palin: No matter what her reasons are, or what she may say, What kind of professional leaves an important office with only a two-week notice??–much less a Governor of one of these United States. She said she's doing what's best for Alaska, which sounds to me like a high-minded way of saying "I'm doing what's best for –me– and using my job as the reason. Just like the clothes and all the other perks she's taken upon herself and said she was doing it for some noble cause. |

July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET Has anyone considered the Pharmaceutical Companies as far as ways Profofol could have been obtained? At times companies give out samples to medical facilities. |

July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET That's good news for me hear suspect already dead...... |

July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET "I’d rather skip the family feud. The sooner MJ is no longer the main news story, the better." Mike, Syracuse, NY, You have a point! This is becoming like something from the theater of the absurd! |
|
| kim-chicago |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET I believe Michael Jackson was a victim...of his own fame. |
|
| Tammy, Houma, LA |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET Even if addiction was the cause of death, what purpose does it serve to trash the man's memory? Addiction is a disease like other. It takes control of the person until that person is ready to get help to gain his or her life back. Did his docs even know he was playing them? Will they be held responsible for their part? Will he be remembered for the great music or the drugs? I choose to remember the music. |
|
| Brenda |
July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET MJ's lawyer said today there will be no feud. I want believe him and so far have no reason to. Katherine, MJ's kids & family, my thoughts & prayers are with you. |

July 6th, 2009 10:17 pm ET I Like your broadcasts Anderson! Always thorough and fair |

July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET Is it just me, or does the serial killer they caught look much different from the police sketch? Why are they so sure it's the right guy? |

July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET I wondered about that Jim...I thought teachers could not be paid. Yet this grandiose display will cost LA tons! |
|
| Urshala |
July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET I don't think Debbie Rowe should be granted custody. Any woman that states that she had that kids "...for him" and willingly gave up her parental rights shouldn't be able to just come back in the picture for what is obviously monetary gain. |
|
| Michelle |
July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET Is there a motive yet for the SC killings ? |
|
| dorothy |
July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET @Jo Ann North Royalton, OH – not sure when you have a substance abuse problem it is as easy as being grown up and taking responsibility for yourself. Even going through a program doesn't guarantee you staying clean. Its a hard thing to get by and I give those who do a huge pat on the back. Maybe it just wasn't that easy for him to do. |
|
| Cathy, Massachusetts |
July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET Debbie Rowe is to harsh to have Michael Jackson's children. They cannot go from the soft spoken Jackson family to that. |
|
| Kevin Charlton |
July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET The memorial service as planned is a license for non MJ fans to profit and print money from tickets resales and auction bids. Check out ebay and craigslist. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!! |

|
| Yazmeen |
July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET @ Debbie, the arm band he wore symbolized the children around the world that were abused, sick, starving, suffering. I wish people would get off of their high horse & stop complaining about "media coverage". You don't like it? Change the channel...This man EARNED his dues for extensive coverage, if you're complaining, chances are you don't know nothing about his life, accomplishments & how many lives he blessed! |

July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET Good evening. I would like to know if they were expecting so many people to apply for tickets for the MJ memorial why do you think they did not do it at a Outdoor stadium with many more seats? |

July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET How does selling a Jackson album for a high price make someone an "evildoer?" It's still a free country isn't it? |

July 6th, 2009 10:18 pm ET greetings from Vancouver Canada..... heres hoping the world will let Michael Jackson's kids and family alone when this memorial tomorrow is done. I know we are all curious and want to know what is going on but they need their privacy to learn how to move on with out Michael. It is my hope the light has returned to Micheal's eyes he appeared to be a very tortured soul ... rest in peace Micheal!!! |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET I am a Michael Jackson fan...however...I think of how much good could be done in our world with the amount of media and MONEY that is being used in the last week. |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET i went too school with michael jackson, tito and jermain in van nuys california, back in the early 70's,he was a wondeful quiet kid, very nice too talk with, and the brothers tito and jermain even taught me too play guitar andpaino,I have fond memories of my time in school with the jacksons, and i cherish the memories, michael had a soft, easy, quiet and gentle manner about him,and even then you could sense his great talent and good heart>I greatly miss him,and wish the family my very best!!! |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET I still can't believe that Michael is gone. I know people are tired of the coverage but not me. I want to know all that is going on. The shock still hasn't worn off. |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Michael Jackson has proven in death what he couldn't seem to convey in life.....that behind the mask was one very smart individual. Had he put control of his wealth in the hands of a family member it would have destroyed the Jackson family. RIP Michael |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET this serial killer case reminds me of one in the mid 1990s in Spokane, the guy buried the bodies in his backyard under an apple tree, and a nice little old lady, unsuspecting made pies out of them! |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Jeffrey Toobin just listed several celebrities who died with drug related issues. He listed Anna Nicole Smith, Elvis, then Rush Limbaugh. What in the world is he talking about? Rush Limbaugh is dead? I know the republican party may be dead but I'm pretty sure Rush is still around. |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET MJ was many of things but lets remember he was someone child, father and brother. He was also a person that helped many. He gave away more money than any entertainer. He did look in the mirror and tried to make a change in this world RIP. |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Does California realize how many millions in taxes Michael paid to the state over the years???? They need to quit crying over the cost for his memorial!!!!! |

July 6th, 2009 10:19 pm ET mj does have some responsibility but the doctors are held to a higher standard by virtue ot them being doctors. it's so easy to get hooked on these prescriptions. doctors are lured by money and being around a celebrity – not wanting to deny him. mj showed good jmt in letting experienced entertainmt lawyers to run his business not blood thirsty relatives who could influence poor sweet katherine. |

July 6th, 2009 10:21 pm ET CNN's coverage is all I would have asked for. You have handled the stories about Micheal Jackson with Dignity and professional at all times. There are going to be people from all over the world who disagree, but really that is their problem, and theirs alone. Larry King Live and Anderson 360 are excellent and you should be commended greatly. Micheal is a STAR who will be missed, but his Legacy will live on forever. My heartfelt sympathies to the whole Jackson Family, but especially the Children, because that is what it is all about. It is a complete shame that they were never able to see their father perform live. He will live in their hearts forever. He was a great father and a great entertainer. He will be missed. |

July 6th, 2009 10:21 pm ET I am still trying to figure out how moving vans came and took MJ processions, Janet took out a lot of belongings, Police took 2 bags out with medications and after a week the Feds come in and find a surgical drug. Now we have 3 more search warrants....guess the housekeeper/cleaners took a 2 week vacation. Seems odd to me so many people coming and going and no one found the hard stuff until after a week. |

July 6th, 2009 10:21 pm ET I know that the memorial service for Michael Jackson will be wonderful. I only wish that I could be there in person to see it. Many people loved Michael. He and I were born on the same day. He will truly be missed. |

July 6th, 2009 10:21 pm ET If Gov Palin is trying to run for President, then she is making poor choices. If she can't handle the media now, she is not gonna handle it well if she was President. But reality is... that she isn't gonna be president |

July 6th, 2009 10:21 pm ET I am wondering about the physician involved in this case. There has been discussion about the Propofol and the fact that it should not be in the home. I also feel that Demerol should not be in the home either in any form other than pill form. Would you agree that the physician should not be in the home administering even the narcotic as an injection in a patient that is not terminal? You run the risk of suppressed respiratory effort even with the Demerol as well as the Propofol. It has been rumored that he was receiving narcotics in injectable form from these physicians and that should not be. |

July 6th, 2009 10:22 pm ET Ultimately, if Debbie Rowe gets the two older Jackson children, what happens to the youngest one? Personally, I think it would be a crime to split the kids up. Why hasn't the news media address this question? |

July 6th, 2009 10:22 pm ET Seems to make sense for Michael Jackson to have capable knowledgable people as executors of his will. That shows his acumen in business and responsible judgement. That's not easy for everyone who achieves such worldwide success. |

July 6th, 2009 10:22 pm ET When I first saw the Debbie Rowe clip, I thought it was CNN badgering her! Everyone wants the 'story'...well, at least the story the media thinks we want to see. I guess it's the same as the unfortunates who watch reality TV...looking for the breeding of aggression. I do wish everyone would concentrate on all of Michael's accomplishments instead of speculating and drooling over alleged reasons for his death. I personally know several 50 year old men who died in their sleep, jogging, sitting at their desk at work. I am secretly hoping the toxology report shows that there was NOTHING about which to speculate....his heart just stopped. But then someone will come back and say that info is being hidden from the world...{sigh} |

July 6th, 2009 10:22 pm ET RE: Sarah Palin I wonder what Levi Johnston will share in his tell-all book about the Palins. The New York Magazine has reported that Johnston is planning on the tell-all book. According to his publicist, they're shopping a book because "there are still many untold stories about the Palins." I wonder if these untold stories include this resignation. |

July 6th, 2009 10:22 pm ET Well , there will be millions of people watching the MJ memorial and it will bring lots of tourists to LA in the future. So if it costs the city a couple of millions , they will get it back tenfolds. You know , fans from all over the world will flock to wherever Jackson is buried . It will be a moneymaker for LA in the long run. Why does nobody mention that? |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET It takes a catastrophy for people to come together. The significance of MJ's death is that he apparently touched all of us in a profound way. Everyone wants to be with him and part of this so he will know how much he was loved. |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET There have been comparisons made between MJ's death and Anna Nicole's; I made the connection with Ledger's death because friends/associates that were interviewed said he too regularly took meds to try to sleep. Is seems as if these talented individuals can't get their creativity to turn off at night and get the REMs they need (?) ...sad |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET now his death 5 doctors!!! i mean come on people and everyone on the new keeps saying over dose drug abuse from the way i see michael jacksin was murdered and even if he did take drugs meant for him who doesnt now they wanna make it seem like he was out of hand with it to cover up what the 5 doctors did to him love you mike, you did not deserve what has happen to you your years on this earth |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I don't think that one person, including Michael himself, can be blamed for his death. There are always many involved and the reasons are countless. Yes he took the drugs, but something drove him to that and there were doctors giving them to him. Why do we need to find a person to point our fingers at? He is gone, let him rest in peace and stop this circus please!!! |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I hope the court is as consistant in honoring Michaels wishes as it pertains to custody of his children as they were in keeping his named executors for his estate. One guy AC was speaking with said something to the effect of "how the estate will be exploited", was that a slip of the tongue. |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I think Michael Jackson did the right thing by appointing his attorney as the executor of his estate. Of course the family is concerned about the future image of Michael and his legacy, but the legal business needs to be handled by someone who is as competent as his attorney. Michael has known him for a very long time and he's handled many of his business ventures in the past. 40% to the mother, 40% for the children and 20% for various charities. When they say that Michael was a shrewd business man.......believe it. |

July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I keep hearing everyone talking about how Michael Jackson's Memorial Service is going to cost the city of LA. However what about the money it is going to make from those coming. As far as I know there are taxes on hotels and food. Not to mention that the Jackson family it self has 9,000 guest those people are staying somewhere and eating somewhere. I think the city of LA is going to make plenty of money off this event and will make even more in months and years to come. |
|
| Zelina |
July 6th, 2009 10:23 pm ET Today in one of the news media the LA police chief was asking for people to help pay the cost for the memorial, like when LA had the Laker parade. Well, why not ask Michael's personal friends to make donations to help pay the cost that will probably exceed what the city has set aside for events like this that might happen. Why don't our investigative reporters ask Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Usher, Mariah Carey, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and all the other people who have spoken about him personally and said he was a good friend to donate not only their time but money. |

July 6th, 2009 10:24 pm ET I feel sorry for the family. What a circus? I know they are used to it but when it all stops and they finally realize a loved one is gone, they will crash. I wasn't a big MJ fan but loss is a very hard thing to come to terms with. |

July 6th, 2009 10:24 pm ET Palin will not have any kind of political leadership value. She will be great behind the scenes, pushing for causes and politicians she supports, and that way she will be able to keep her family out of the limelight. Busy paying off bills. Boring? Will see. |

July 6th, 2009 10:25 pm ET Michael did not "kill" himself. MJ did not take an oath to first do no harm. The doctor did. The doctor should have said NO. Any doctor that would prescribe that type of medication for home use, should be in jail. |

July 6th, 2009 10:25 pm ET I just loved Michael Jackson's music. I never understood him, but anyone with an appeciation of art must acknowledge his immense talent. i doubt we can seperate the 'strange' and the 'talent'...they're inextricably linked. That's genius. |

Al sharpton needs to stay out of the spot light. . . people who don't have anything nice should zip it. Michael has been a music icon for many years. and like Elvis will live on forever. so those who talk ugly about him. .be prepared. . he will always be there. July 6th, 2009 10:27 pm ET It is disgusting to hear a person of the law (Congressman) to accuse Micheal Jackson of being a child molester and pedophile when the judicial system that he suppose to believe and is part of found him not guilty on all counts. July 6th, 2009 10:31 pm ET I also find it a little strange that certain people have recently come back into MJ life within the last few weeks who have a vested interest in his estate and also very large insurance policies taken out before he did the tour he was preparing vigorously for. I do not believe this was an accident. I believe that this was carefully planned and MJ was very trusting of people, maybe a character flaw inherited from being abused on some many levels.....my heart breaks for his family... |

July 6th, 2009 10:31 pm ET I think the LAPD should look more into Dr. M. After all, he was the last one to be with Michael before he died. Dr. M said himself that MJ wanted him to stay with him that night because he did not feel well. If you really think about that statement, MJ needed someone to monitor him for the IV medication during the night. The question is why did it take Dr. M half an hour to call 911. I wonder if the police ever found the IV bag and needle. They would not if part of that 30 min was used to hide them. I am not pointing a finger but Dr. M's lawyer complained that Dr. M did not get paid for 2 months and MJ owed him $300K. Just speculating this whole scenario but if this in fact did happen this way, the tragic outcome was probably not intentional. It was probably done at MJ's request to help him sleep. Again, this is just speculation. |

July 6th, 2009 10:32 pm ET Why is the city of L.A. so concerned about who is going to pay for the cost of the memorial for Michael Jackson, are they forgetting how much revenue was brought into that city in the past when he performed live concerts and how much revenue will be coming in the next few days from thousands of people wanting to just be there at this historic time, people will have expenses and that will bring in a great deal of monies I am sure to cover the costs. |

July 6th, 2009 10:32 pm ET sarah palin is one crazy lady. I think she is not capable to handle the day to day running of Alaska. Mentally, I don't think she is all there look at her interviews with Katy Couric, Charley Gibson and anothers she fell on her face. Think America she can't handle a state less known a country. |

July 6th, 2009 10:33 pm ET To me Palin has duped her responsibility as a public servant chosen by the people of her state to be governor. Did this guy just say being governor wasn't fun? I don't think public office is often fun. It is an honor and challenge that I think she's wimping out on, and I don't get this shirking of her responsibility to her state. |

July 6th, 2009 10:33 pm ET I presume some people have to work, take care of kids, etc. tomorrow....not everyone can or would let all that go to watch this 'memorial' on TV or stand in line at Forrest Lawn! I always wonder who those people are?! I'm sure plenty of people who still go to work tomorrow or take care of their kids loved MJ just as much....maybe more, in some cases. Not everyone needs to express it through melodrama! |

July 6th, 2009 10:33 pm ET "There are no heros here. How much is this circus going to cost?" From what I understand there is some sort of contingency emergency fund for the police, but no money for sanitation. Maybe the Jackson family and their celebrity guests can pick up after the "admirers." |

July 6th, 2009 10:36 pm ET Why are so many people calling foul when it comes to how much taxpayer money will be spent to organize and police tomorrow's memorial. Huge amounts of money that will pour into the local economy by perhapes half a million people, descending on L.A. from not only other parts of the U.S., but from around the world. From Hotels to restaurants, to car rentals, to just about any retail outlet. Surely the most prosperous week L.A. will have seen in a long time! |

July 6th, 2009 10:39 pm ET Anderson, Jay J, Cology, Medical Forensic Paralegal, Physician Assistant Jay J, Cology, Medical Forensic Paralegal, Physician Assistant The only way to trace the medicaiton that was given to MJ is to look at the manufacturere and obtain the Lot Number. This needs to be traced from the initial pharmaceutical manufacturer to the transport, delivery, and final acceptance of the medication. What hospital/clinic was it shipped to? Who was there (MJ/Friend/Agent) when the medication was there? Who had access to the medication? How could it have moved from the hosiptal supply to the private posession of MJ? This is not a controlled substance, so looking at the State Pharmacy Records of Controlled Substance is a waste of time unless the information looked for is the other controlled medication MJ was using. It will, however, not show the IV medication. |

July 6th, 2009 10:41 pm ET It's been a long 12 days of eveything going on after the death of Micheal Jackson, if you really take a good look at all this, in his last appearance in London he was dressed really nice, and he held his hand over his heart, waved at the fans, With a back drop heading that read, "THIS IS IT", how sad a few days later it was over....Micheal Jackson was tired and probably did want to get some sleep, unfortunately however it happen he did not wake up this time!!! I do hope that his death was not due to the fact that a medical doc gave him to much medication that would help him sleep. This will always remain a mystery even after the autopsy report comes back. I really do miss him he was a genius in the music industry, and he will be sadly missed!!!! Take your rest MJ YOU WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON IN THE MUSIC YOU BLESSED US WITH! Thank you AC for this forum. |

July 6th, 2009 10:41 pm ET You're reporting on the COST of the Michael Jackson memorial to the city of Los Angeles. What about the REVENUE that Michael Jackson has brought to the city in the last week?? Even in death, he's brought millions of dollars of tourism revenue to the city by the thousands of fans, reporters, entrepreneurs, etc. who've been eating, sleeping, shopping, and travelling in the city since June 25. Also, if the Jackson family should pay for some or all of Los Angeles' cost for providing the services its supposed to, so should the record companies who have made billions on the sale of his albums since June 25. How about the news and TV shows whose viewership (and, as a result, advertising dollars) have increased . |

July 6th, 2009 10:43 pm ET I think that Michael Jackson was laid to rest today. There were private or offical helicopters seen flying over the Burbank going toward Glendale, CA this afternoon. Coincidently, two of Forest Lawn's properties – one in Glendale, CA and another in the Hollywood Hills are both located in the same area. Wasn't a helicopter used to transport Michael's body to the Coroner’s office in Los Angeles last week? |

July 6th, 2009 10:45 pm ET Wake up everyone. Sarah is $500,000 in debt for legal fees alone to fight all her battles. By my calculation, she and her family are about to financially lose everything. She has a great opportunity to make money through a speaking tour and writing a book. She is doing what she has to. I just don't understand why everyone thinks it is a mystery? She had to quit the job she loves to pay for all the bills. It is a matter of money. |

July 6th, 2009 10:49 pm ET Sarah Palin has earned the media scrutiny surrounding her. On the heels of her quitting her role as Governor, we should really be talking about her long history of quitting (colleges, elected posts) and why anyone would even want her as a prospective future presidential nominee to begin with? How can anyone defend her actions? Sarah Palin represents media driven "style over substance"- nothing more. We should demand better and stop giving her so much attention. |

July 6th, 2009 10:51 pm ET Palin espouses core Republican values, family values, respect for life, smaller government, strong defense, personal responsibility, oil independence, and so on. But could she lead and get anything done? |

July 6th, 2009 10:51 pm ET I can't say that I'm upset that Sarah Palin is gone (if she really is gone, which would be great) however I am sad that she was treated so badly during her time in the public arena. I think that John McCain and his political team did a great disservice to Mrs. Palin and the country by introducing her so abruptly into the national political spectrum. |

July 6th, 2009 10:52 pm ET Good night everyone. Good blogging. I'll be watching CNN tomorrrow. |

July 6th, 2009 10:52 pm ET AC. I have a ticket for tomorrows Memorial but I'm concerned about being able to get close enough to be recognized as one, having a ticket. I don't even know how early I should leave from the San Bernardino area, in order to get there on time. There just doesn't seem to be enough information being given in the news. Whatever you can to would be appreciated. |

July 6th, 2009 10:52 pm ET I think it is admirable that Ms. Taylor is not participating. She knows better than anyone that MJ would have welcome the adulation when he was still alive. |

July 6th, 2009 10:53 pm ET @Mike Syracuse: Michael Jackson can't be solely responsible. Doctors take oaths. They have no right supplying drugs (pushers) to addicts, for their own financial benefit. Get a clue. |

July 6th, 2009 10:53 pm ET See ya later, bloggerverse! And Sarah Palin may have quit because she flew over the cuckoo's nest. Nite! |

July 6th, 2009 10:53 pm ET Mike, Syracuse, NY, Sorry, but we can't just blame the person for what happened. In this story as in many others, there are several variables interconnecting and leading to the end result. It's not always as simple as just pointing a finger at one person. I wish it were. |

July 6th, 2009 10:53 pm ET The NY Rep. Peter King should have chosen his judgemental words more carefully. Remember the former NY governor and his proactive stance on prostitution. Judge not, for ye should be judged. |

July 6th, 2009 10:54 pm ET Hello everyone - At a time when some critics are attacking the media for too much coverage of Michael Jackson, it is fascinating to read your comments tonight and find how many of you are glued - and how much you appreciate the approach that CNN has taken in its reports. In the meantime, I was personally appreciative tonight that Anderson took some time out tonight for reflections upon the life of Robert McNamara - a man whose triumphs and tragedies as a public service had an enormous impact upon the nation in the 60s and 70s. |

She is not only beautiful, educated, athletic, excellent speaker(who renewed my hope in national politics and won my vote) a darling wife.daughter, mother and now grandmother BUT most of all fascinating because of her true integrity and character. I really get it Sarah!!!! God Bless |

July 6th, 2009 10:54 pm ET I saw that "so-called" shadow when it broadcasted LIVE on LKL and thought it was just some dude walking across a light. Who would have ever figured it would be presumed as MJ's ghost. Gotta love the internet! |

July 6th, 2009 10:55 pm ET This is proof why we did not vote for Palin in November. She does not care about the people of Alaska, the United States or anyone for that matter, only herself. Bring people together, yeah if she gets paid to do so. She is only an opportunist and that is all. Whatever is for her. And to think that this political no-talent, was a heartbeat away from the presidency SCARY.......... |

July 6th, 2009 10:56 pm ET @Isabel, Medical Board...5 doctors working together shld give better care? Having competent executors for his estate ensure that his family and loved ones are well provided for. That's important. It didn't hit me until after I heard the press conf, Obama and Medvedev, but felt like a warming in US-Russian relations. |
