Cue the orchestra; a tune like you might expect from Yanni if he were thrown from an airplane with his fingers duck taped to a keyboard. High above the center stage a spotlight blooms like a fuel-air bomb on a hair thin wire. The background glows muted, and Warholesque with mountain ranges, rivers, glaciers, frost-bitten miners, and pink salmon. The gaping maw of a Kodiak is projected onto the hardwood, a hundred feet below.
Behold, the final act of Cirque Du Sarah.
Seriously, in all the weirdness of political theater that we’ve seen in recent years, the Governor of Alaska’s air walk from virtually nowhere only a year or so ago, to GOP darling, to pop culture puzzle, to this… this unexpected leap into the unknown this afternoon, left my mouth hanging open. (And in the wake of that Argentina hopping South Carolina Gov, that’s saying something…)
It wasn’t just the sheer surprise of it, and that was considerable. It was also the style. The red outfit, the shimmering water in the background (was that an eagle I heard screaming?) and most of all the over-the-top loopiness of her tone.
Here she is announcing a retreat from the political stage, possibly a career-ending move, and she’s beaming like she just won American Idol; listing all of her accomplishments, gushing over her love of Alaska, and pledging her future care for her state’s well-being. In the name of Dr. Obvious, of course it raises enormous questions: Is there something else involved…health issues, personal matters, plans to become a professional Iditarod musher? Maybe there is some grand, and clever secret agenda at work. Maybe she is simply clearing the deck for a bigger run for a bigger office. At the moment no one seems to know, and as much as it seems like we’re missing a piece to this jigsaw, all we can really do is take her word for it.
Democrats immediately pounced like Wolverines on what they are characterizing as her bizarre behavior. But calling this bizarre is like calling Tiger Woods a golfer; if people have not already noticed, they are under some sort of heavy medication, and pointing it out only makes the Dems look like wagon jumpers. Better for them to simply sit back and let the GOP burn.
But wow…what an exit. Who can really blame anyone for reacting oddly to it? The old line goes, “there are strange things done under the midnight sun,” but Palin’s dive into the bottomless fiord may be one of the strangest we’ll see in politics this year.

July 3rd, 2009 6:17 pm ET Are you guys kidding me? Sarah Palin is in deep doo-doo. There may be some scandal coming down the pipes and she is being forced to resign. She is trying to avoid this scandal. Sarah Palin might be under some investigational probe of impropriety and the heat is on. She is trying to avoid jail. Politicians are becoming more obvious (especially Sarah Palin) as to what their true motives are. The Basketball analogy is plain stupid because that is what Sarah Palin is and is this how she relates to the world. That truly is here level of intelligence. If she can be the president, so can Shaq O'neil. There is no way anyone should allow her to run a baby daycare center – let alone a state or this country. I am happy to say this is the smartest move she has made in her entire political life. Bye-bye Sarah :0)... And no, she will not be a political candidate for 2012. She has to stop this snowball of a problem (which she has thrown a smoke screen by resigning from the governor's office) that rolling down the hill. This is more like a game of dodgeball... mark my words. Like my Grandma use to say, "Something ain't clean in the milk." What have you done Sarah?.... What have done in the past that is coming back to bite you in the butt?....Really... |

July 3rd, 2009 6:21 pm ET From the surprising appointment by John McCain through Saturday Night Live to today, this train wreck has been amazing. With all of the strange things politicians do (think money and sex), this has to be the most incredible. We have watched a shooting star's short life as it enters the earth's atmosphere. Only one thing can be said: WOW |

July 3rd, 2009 6:31 pm ET Wonder if some big scandal is about to break and Palin is trying to resign ahead of it to avoid being labeled as another politician who "resigned under pressure"? |
|

July 3rd, 2009 6:33 pm ET Can Sarah Palin really think anyone believes that she is so altruistic that she puts the State of Alaska and it's budget before her own personal goals of power? Better to just be straightforward and say she wants to be free of the responsibilities she signed up for and forge her very selfish path through the political landscape she feigns to disdain. I would also not be surprised if it comes out that there is something lurking in the shadows that she could not surpress or try to explain away. This just brings to the forefront again how unstable and erratic this woman is. |

July 3rd, 2009 6:34 pm ET HOLY WOW Tom Foreman! This was hilarious!!! XXO♥ |

| Annie Kate |
July 3rd, 2009 6:36 pm ET Tom Maybe she was just taking too much heat for being everywhere but Alaska, wasn't doing her job, was being questioned on how much time she was spending with her family especially the special needs baby, and it was suggested that stepping down would give her the chance and the time to study up on what she would need to know on a national platform, would give her this time to point to as the time she took to devote to her family; and that she always did what was best for Alaska. She'll manage to spin it some way; but right now I'm not sure I care why she left. I'm just glad she did. |
|
| Jasmine |
July 3rd, 2009 6:47 pm ET maybe she finally realized her awkwardness....but then again if I were her and knew about my own creepy strangeness, I would have fun with it, I wouldn't resign.... |

| Donna |
July 3rd, 2009 6:51 pm ET Don't like your tone....so she doesn't talk like you or some of the women you know. She wasn't groomed to be a political figure but found herself there because she wanted to serve. We should all be more like her. Just give it our best, and when we see that this is no longer possible, do the right thing and hand over the reins. Maybe you should hand over your reigns. |

July 3rd, 2009 7:19 pm ET I happen to think she has been cruicified by the media and when it became so personal regarding her baby, a special needs child, she gave up.........She can always come back later................Maybe her baby is really sick,,,you guys have no idea what precipitated this move. SHUT UP and let this woman get on with her life...........She is as smart as our president, who cannot even give a speech without teleprompter and MEDIA lets it slide,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,At least she can speak. |

July 3rd, 2009 8:21 pm ET In the annals of politics, I've never heard of a Governor stepping down due to the demands of a book tour. And all the while, playing the scene like it's a heroic moment in a movie with a chorus humming 'Johnnie come marching home' in the background, our great Governor, clicking her heels into the sunset when it's just before High Noon. And nobody pleading with her to stay... |

July 3rd, 2009 8:27 pm ET With all the headlines I guess Sarah just feltshe needed some of the attention. It's all like something straight out of Monty Python. "Ans now for something completely different." |

July 3rd, 2009 10:06 pm ET There is more to this story. Someone had something on her, there is no other explanation. If she runs for office again, the strategy for the opposition is simple..chant "QUITTER...QUITTER" at all her rallys. I hope this means we won't have to see poor Bristol and her baby paraded around any more singing the praises of abstinence, which she knows nothing about, and showing that, yes, it is possible to have a baby outside of marriage and still thrive and be happy. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:06 pm ET Maybe, just maybe, this is all about money. She can't very well write a book, appear on talk shows, and appear across the US if she is governor of Alaska. Maybe she saw the $$ disappearing unless she acted not, while she is still hot property. I've always respected her hutzpah, but never her abilities. I hope the republics will see that she is am empty vessel, a good image, but little else of substance. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:11 pm ET Finally, we might be given the chance (in a few weeks after the shock wears off) to NOT hear about Palin for a while. I hope nothing is personally wrong with her, or her family. None of us would want that. But this shall kill her political career, no? I hope so. I actually do not dislike her, but I have come to realize she loves the spotlight (well, don't they all), considering how much she puts herself in the news, mostly concerning ridiculous subjects. She owes the people of her state to finish her term; since she is not, they deserve someone who will work for them, and they hopefully will not even consider her if she were to run for the Senate or House, or God forbid, the White House. |
|
| Rick from Portland |
July 3rd, 2009 10:11 pm ET There is definitely more to this story. There is something way ugly in her closet, and it is fixin' to bust loose. If she were going to run for Prez, she would have simply stated that she was not going to run for re-election as Governor, she would not have resigned, and certainly not on the Friday before a long weekend. She is covering something up, and it is gonna be a classic when it comes out, just sit back and wait. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:13 pm ET As much as I despise the overblown media coverage over the tragic life and death of Michael Jackson, I'd welcome CNN changing it's format to a 24 hour MJ tribute channel if it meant I never had to hear from this train wreck of a "politician" ever again. |
|

July 3rd, 2009 10:13 pm ET Get off her case you frenzied idiots. She's just had it and wants to step away from the political BS. I don't blame her. I'll bet she wishes she never accepted the VP nomination, but I know what it's like to be pressured to do something that doesn't feel right within. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:14 pm ET why are the media still talking about this egomaniac, useless lady? Can the media just focus on more important issues? |
|
| Bonita Shaver |
July 3rd, 2009 10:15 pm ET As much as I would like to think this will be her political death knoll, it seems to be that this move is likely to be just the first of her "I'm So Maverick" moves to regain front-runner status. She'll be back, like a bad penny. |
|
| Sarah |
July 3rd, 2009 10:17 pm ET My mouth was hanging open, too. And she's considering a presidential run? She gave what had to be the stupidest reason for leaving office before the term ended, and expects to have a future? I am appalled. Let's hope the Republicans are smart enough to call a beauty queen a beauty queen and leave her out of the 2012 race. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:17 pm ET she seemed a bit hysterical at her press conference...maybe even "over the edge" She's crazy |

July 3rd, 2009 10:17 pm ET The problem is that Sarah is a legend in her own mind. The reality she lives in bears no resemblance to the reality that the rest of us experience. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:17 pm ET Well said Tom!!!! Like "what the French????" I continue to be amused with Sara Palin. She's a fool if she thinks she will be elected to any office. You don't just say pfft-you I'm outa here! |

July 3rd, 2009 10:18 pm ET Wow! Her basketball analogy was only half there Anderson. Sarah palin simply walked off the court, disqualifying her team. Sara point guard is benched. We don't know if she'll play again. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:19 pm ET Predictible! The woman is a wingnut, always was, will continue to be. She's desperately trying to hide something filthy, and she thinks she can hide it by quitting. Is she in for a shock, or what? Her stinking filthy creepiness will follow her always. She's a loser. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:19 pm ET OK, ummmm....what on earth? If she is going to run for POTUS, she better go to POTUS school. But ..... sure sounds like a "quitter" to me. I mean, is there some pre-requisite that a lame duck has to fritter away their time? Sounds totally bogus. Yet again shows the worst possible "female rolemodel" . Just crazy. The Sarah entertainment train rolls on. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:19 pm ET What a nut case! This is her true character.... a self-serving quitter. Imagine if this one-shot wonder had inherited the presidency when McCain croaked – and then quit... What a tool. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:22 pm ET I hope this is the end of her political career. In my opinion she does not represent the gender well. She lacks cuth and tolerance. Trying to incite Americans against the Muslim world is ignorant and irresponsible. The world is to small these days for narrow minded thinking like hers. As for her family situation.....the media really needs to be more careful how they word their reports. They do sooooo much damage. She nor her family deserved that. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:22 pm ET Sarah Palin's POTUS aspirations confirm that everyone – regardless of qualifications – is free to pursue their dream in America. What she will learn, however, is that if you can't run with the big dogs you should stay on the porch. Sarah's woefully inadequate formal education alone will hold her back. Add to that her alarming lack of knowledge about the world outside of her small sphere and what you have is a woman who over promises and under delivers. |
|
| sarah |
July 3rd, 2009 10:22 pm ET Sarah Palin has special needs. Her speech, thoughts, and analytical patterns are all strange, She makes no sense at all and the fact that we're still listening to her means something is really really wrong with this country. She is a crazy and needs psychological counseling. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:26 pm ET Wasn't an eagle, I think it was a seagull squawking in the background. See 'Finding Nemo' for the perfect characterization of seagulls - fits the GOP nicely. July 3rd, 2009 10:27 pm ET It seems she has found another way to stay in the news and more than likely, make additional money. To me, she basically said she can't work on her book deal and be Governor too. Sad thing for the poor Alaskans that voted her into office. I would be curious to know if any other governor resigned in the middle of their term without giving a very good reason. It seems to me that most of the governors that have quit mid term have had moral issues or fraud issues that forced them to resign, but I can't remember any that resigned for no good reason. I'd love to see a female President, but she's not doing the women's movement any good by just dropping out without a valid reason. It's more like she doesn't want to be associated with her state's problems so her record will stay clean. She has to learn to take the good with the bad in politics and if she hasn't enough tenancity to do so, then she shouldn't be in politics. |
|
| Linda |
July 3rd, 2009 10:27 pm ET Watched her speech. Noticed that there were less than a dozen people in the audience. Why is the press giving her so much coverage when she cannot even get a turnout of more than a dozen people in Alaska to hear her resignation speech? If only a dozen people in all of the state of Alaska care to hear her speak, why bother? |
|
| Joe |
July 3rd, 2009 10:27 pm ET Friend, I think you should write whatever makes you feel better inside. She is retiring to focus on 2012. I have yet to figure this part out: Suppose for 1 second that Ralph Nader was making a bid for 2012. Would you be writing about it? Downplaying it? Attempting to counter and diffuse it at every turn? No, you would not. Because there would be no need to. His pull is far to light to warrant such attention on your part. So which is it? Do you fear her pull on the American people or are you writing about something that doesn't warrant your attention? It can't be both my friend. So when you come to a decsion, be sure to let us all know. |
|
| Fernando |
July 3rd, 2009 10:28 pm ET Finally, some good news in the horizon. I hope we never have to hear that name ever again. I don't wish her bad, but just stay in Alaska, and keep guard on Russia from your back yard. We have finally had enough of her self righteous, sanctimonious, holier than thou attitude. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:28 pm ET Palin should have taken a cue from Pawlenty – at least he is going to finish his term of office. If Sarah Palin had any hope of building credentials for a run in 2012, she should have simply gone back to Alaska, exhibited quiet competence at her job, started reading all those newspapers laying around and gotten some media training. And, what is all of this change she hopes to produce from the "outside"? If you are the chief executive of a state, aren't you in a much better position to effect change? What is she going to do, take to the mountains and form an armed rebel resistance movement? Perhaps it's all been a bit too much ,and she is truly tired of all of it. If so, I wish her well in repose. However, if this is some sort of ham handed effort to prep for 2012, we should ask – who in their right mind would vote for someone who quit their last job? If elected president, would she just quit that, too? This is who the Republicans would have placed a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Thank goodness McCain lost |

July 3rd, 2009 10:32 pm ET PLEASE, let this be the final nail in the political coffin of Sarah Palin... today's "press conference" was a joke, begging more questions than it answered. Her double-speak, rambling incoherence, and tortured allegories about basketball, magnets, etc, answered no questions. It should be ABUNDANTLY clear to anyone with a brain that this ill-informed, ill-educated, backwards hick has NO PLACE anywhere near the office of President of the U.S. PLEASE Sarah - go away. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:35 pm ET I was all over the "better offer" theory - a talk-show gig, for instance - until I watched her full press conference. Folks, that woman was seriously freaking out. She did NOT excited about leaving office, she looked angry, panicky, and on the verge of a breakdown. Add in all the vague references to "costing the taxpayers money" and "political bloodsport" and the total lack of reasons she offered for the resignation, and I came away with the strong impression that she's facing imminent revelations of a bad, bad kind. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:36 pm ET Nice commentary Tom, enjoyed it. Aside from the political angle, what is she teaching the kids of Alaska, that you can take people's votes, and an oath of office, ask them to put their trust in you, and then quit halfway through? Don't care what her reasons are, all I can say is good riddance, Alaskan youth deserve a better role model that Sarah Palin. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:36 pm ET I was hoping never to hear of her again, but yet here she is! There is talk that she will want to run for president in 2012. If she were to run, and win, I think I would have to leave the country. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:36 pm ET Intolerant, hate-filled, unethical, dishonest - these are just a few words that describe Sarah Palin. Damn, she makes such a good Republican Governor. I am sure the GOP hates to see her go. Oh, wait, I forgot the most descriptive word that describes Sarah and the GOP: HYPOCRITS!! May the GOP wallow in its own sordid hypocrisy. And to think that Republicans complain about the "left-wing liberals" being so open-minded. At least liberals do not lie and live deceitful lives, flying off to South America for affairs - tapping their feet under bathroom stalls in Airports. Get it yet? The GOP is the evil that must be stopped to keep from bringing this country down!!!! |
|

July 3rd, 2009 10:37 pm ET Pulled from near obscurity and put on the national stage where she experienced a meteoric rise in popularity, the Governor is now a complete flameout in less than a year. This is simply the case of someone with the potential to be influential or more on the national stage being put into an intense spotlight before they were ready. Too many stumbles from being badly advised and unprepared. |
|
| Not a Sarah fan |
July 3rd, 2009 10:37 pm ET Yippeee!!!! The BEST news I've heard all week. If this means we won't hear her scratchy voice and see her "I'm better than you" face anymore on TV screens then I would say good riddens to her and her family! Maybe she will have her own talk show bashing our President. Who knows and who cares what Palin does? |

July 3rd, 2009 10:38 pm ET I would bet there is a job offer..... probably some super rich backer who will make her some sort of spokeswoman for yada yada yada or she is going into Newt's think tank to learn how to think........ It has to be a selfish motive........ she keeps forgetting that Alaska belongs to the USA .... not to her .... those are our resources .... paid for by taxpayer money when Mr. Seward purchased the land way back in the 19 century. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:38 pm ET Great...another opportunity for Tina Fey to highlight another empty-headed speech from the great Sarah Palin on SNL. I can't see how ridiculous it would be to think she would ever be president. She'd probably stand the same chance as Jeb Bush. Seems to me the dems have been cleaning house around the country. Doesn't take too long to find the dirt –i.e, the likes of adulterous Republican governors and senators resigning. Or perhaps she has more honest intentions and will be on CNN tomorrow claiming to be the real mother of Jackson's kids. Who knows....I'll just going to tune into David Letterman and hope I get to see another "top ten" on Palin. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:39 pm ET SO WHAT? What diffierence does it make? Everyone has the right to choose to quit a job. It has to be a personal choice and I believe that Sarah Palin wants to do something else and has decided that she could help Alaska no more. The general public is so quick to "burn a person at the stake" over a decision to leave the public eye. Put yourself in the limelight just once and see how quickly the "rats run to the cheese." Politics is politics and anyone daring enough to risk their personal life should be given credit for the decision. Why not just let the decision be what it is; it is what it is. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:39 pm ET Sarah Palin reminds me of those lame-o CEOs who "resign" their jobs. They only resign to avoid being fired. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:40 pm ET Maybe Tina Fey needs some time off from Saturday Night Live visits and Sara can fill in for her. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:40 pm ET She went from a fairly reasonable governor who didn't push her personal conservative agenda & worked with both sides of the aisle TO an extreme ultraconservative pushing the evangelical line of self-serving garbage that tends to divide rather than speak to everyone. Her replacement as governor is yet to prove his intentions, but she has made a mockery of the voters who put her in office. What an embarrassment she has become.. Sadly, people who live Outside (lower 48) cheer for her more because she looks 'hot' than what's in her head, which unfortunately proved to be very litte. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:40 pm ET This is just another GOP politican illustrating how little leadership they have. She is not a leader, but I hope she gets the nomination in '12, because that means another Obama term for sure |
|
| Shraf |
July 3rd, 2009 10:41 pm ET This is completely transparent and selfish. She quit for two reasons: 1. it fits perfectly with her made-up persona of not playing "politics as usual" ....i'm certain we're going to hear about how she selflessly stepped down as alaska governor during her unsuccessful bid for the white house in 2012 2. she needs to go home and make up for 40+ years of ignorance so she won't be completely laughed off the stage when she runs for president as she was when she ran for vice president |

July 3rd, 2009 10:42 pm ET Sarah's politically tone deaf unscripted career killing ramble was worthy of Mark Sanford. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:42 pm ET As usual, it's all about HER. Hopefully, she won't try for an encore and will fade out – WAY OUT! It's highly probable that she has an ulterior motive that is self-serving. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:43 pm ET I think she and Todd have money problems. Her exit is as quick as her entrance. In 2012, it will be "Sarah Who?" |

July 3rd, 2009 10:43 pm ET Maybe..... she loved the spot light, just a little to much being the VP nominee and couldn't go back to just being a Gov.? On a personal note I feel she is a ??? can't even think of a word to call her. Quitting? this job? Heck, she quit it the day she got the nomination for VP. She spent all of last year running and she hasn't done anything since she's been back. If she thinks this will help her for "12" she's just plain dumb. She needed to be the best Gov and get re-elected and do important things to prove she could even be a canidate in "12". As it stands now, she hasn't done anything , anybody should be impressed by. Nominee? maybe for Bristol's baby, she should be starting Brownies about then, she could be Troop leader. Bye, Bye, doubt we'll be hearing anything important from you again (thank God) |

July 3rd, 2009 10:46 pm ET The excessive, intrusive, condescending media taunt of Palin is something that should go down as further proof that the media in this country has lost all sense of objectivity, and is tied to cheap headlines (e.g. Cirque du Sara) and superficial coverage tied to their carefully selected audience demographics. Hey Anderson...the only "Cirque" created was what was manufactured by you and the others. Can you imagine the (manufactured) outrage if Palin was a liberal democrat? |
|
| Brent Cole |
July 3rd, 2009 10:46 pm ET Palin scares liberal dogs to death. She can speak from a clearly superior moral base, is "sneaky" proficient and clear on her message (whether any of us want to admit it or not), and she is clearly a threat to the diminishing spotlight of other contenders. This afternoon, she ripped the liberal boys' pouch off. What? Yours didn't get ripped? Maybe, it's because you don't have one. You may be just a bunch of Barneys and Pelosis. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:46 pm ET Anyone who had faith in Sarah Palin's intellectual abilities should take a gander at that rambling, incoherent babble delivered today. Does she not feel any sense of duty to the people of Alaska? It is obvious that she has her sights set on the White House. It would be so refreshing if she were honest and just admit that her reason for quiting is to raise money for her run. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:46 pm ET What a bunch of losers the democratic party has become. Your party has become the party of the oppressors, you again and again (as noted in earlier comments) display a lack of real caring when it comes to anyone that does not agree with your liberal views. What the democratic party is about is caring for just the blacks and browns and gays and un-educated and illegals, the self oppressed, the self loathing, the eco minded, the war haters, man haters, business haters that make up 51% of this country's population. Try to at least show some respect for the other 49%. You know the God fearing, gun toting, nascar loving, mostly white, tax paying, money grubing, american soldier supporting, conservatives. Because after you have bankrupted this country it will be the 49% that might have a shot at repairing it. Until then get a life. Leave this women alone. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:47 pm ET I don't know the woman's motivation but it was the most confusing press conference I've seen. She got Mark Sandford beat in that respect. I wish her the best but I have a sneaking suspicion that this is just the beginning for Gov Palin.............there is a comeback but what, when and where has yet to be answered. I suggest we stay tuned for further annoucements. |

| Happy now? |
July 3rd, 2009 10:48 pm ET Bravo! You guys took her down. She was never as bad as she was painted to be. Why such meaness and harshness toward this woman? Most complaints about her are actually unfounded. Will you all now stop whinning about her? I hope so . . . |

July 3rd, 2009 10:49 pm ET Lisa's right. One chant, all across these United States... Quitter! If she had something in the planning stages, she would certainly have said what it is. She is a media whore, after all. But when someone with a big mouth like hers is able to keep it shut during what must be considered a very dramatic change of plans... someone must have something HUGE on her (past the normal ethics concerns). She cannot survive this. At least I hope not. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:49 pm ET The excessive, intrusive, condescending media taunt of Palin is something that should go down as further proof that the media in this country has lost all sense of objectivity. July 3rd, 2009 10:53 pm ET First off, if Palin running for president is "an act of god," we REALLY need to re-evaluate this god fellow. That aside, WHY won't this woman just go away? She represents everything that is wrong with not only the political system in this country, but what is basically wrong with this country as a whole. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:55 pm ET I actually think it is time we have someone with "real world experiences and common sense" The clown we have running the US into an economic ditch has quite the pedigree. Our enemies think he is a joke, but hey everybody is getting everything for free! How is that "Hope and Change" working out for you? Unemployment 10% and that is after the trillion spedulous for the field mouse in San Fran. The next trillion should be even better. Hold onto your guns and wallets America, King Barack is coming! July 3rd, 2009 10:56 pm ET I respect Sarah, but what I don't understand is why she's stepping down. For the two and a half years she served as governor she was good to Alaska and during these troubled economic times she pulled her state strongly through the storm. It's hard to understand. Levi |

July 3rd, 2009 10:57 pm ET Palin's basketball analogy is perfect for this proactive leader. Another example is Kobe is a better player and the Lakers are a better team now that Kobe has learned to pass the ball and trust and develop his teammates. Kobe keeps driving to thte hoop and pasing when necessary to acheive the teams goals. Palin is activating a great grassroots movement. |

July 3rd, 2009 10:58 pm ET Little else of substance indeed. It is incredible how so many people support her when we're all looking at and listening to the same person. A fool will actually believe her explanation. Yes, she is bizarre at times, and the wattage is clearly insufficient. She shouldn't get anywhere near the oval office. Definitely not qualified. She blames in part the FOIA requests and such as "wasting Alaskans' money", but my question is why is that stuff happening in the first place, Sarah? Hmm? She's running out on her constituents for her own personal ambition and she doesn't even have the guts and honesty to say so straight up. Disgraceful. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:05 pm ET I really have always believed that Sarah Palin is mentally unstable. This entirely beyond that I don't agree with her politically but my disagreement is more horror over her obtaining power than disagreement. I think the next scene will be stranger yet. Her political career is over but her pathological need for attention is not. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:09 pm ET Good Evening Anderson, I think Gov. Palin is a rare woman of integrity and character who has been shamlessly abused by a corrupt political system that is amoral and apathetic , in which little decency can thrive. She cultivated a genuine responsibility to impact our country and the state of Alaska for good and is being lambasted for the very ideals this country so desperately needs. I wish her and her family peace. Perhaps it is us who can learn by her example... |
|
| P Mulroney |
July 3rd, 2009 11:11 pm ET I have never seen such a display of self promotion and narcissism in a quitting speech. Maybe now she can concentrate on learning more about her own family. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:16 pm ET Spoken like a true Palin-basher. you anti-palin biases are showing up. If Palin's is a circus act, Obama's is the biggest clown, snake-oil sales act.. that you in the media have bought into .. hook-line-and-sinker. just because the guys is harvard educated, black .. doesnt make him smart. period. |

| Brian |
July 3rd, 2009 11:16 pm ET That was one of the most, if not the most, rambling, pathetic speeches I have ever heard. Her supporters can cry foul all they want and blame others, Sarah Palin consistently comes across as an intellectually bankrupt parrot. Meg Stapleton also sounded stupid on the report; but, she has a very hard job trying to justify the mess left behind by this so called "governor" |

July 3rd, 2009 11:17 pm ET And to think this unstable loser could have been a heartbeat away. With the way this country was left by Bush Rep. have alot of nerv even thinking about Palin for President. I think that thought is scary. |

|
| Mark Shal |
July 3rd, 2009 11:18 pm ET As her star fades, so does the potential $$ for her to grab on the lecture circuit. I believe Gov. Palin's decision is about nothing more substantial than her personal economic position and clearly does not reflect the leadership qualities required at the state or Federal level of government. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:18 pm ET I think that GOP is feed up with her. Who's coming to her rescue i.e. Boehner, Cheney, McCain or Rick Perry. John Kerry, even took a crack at her a few weeks back. I thought being Governor was a powerful position? Sarah Palin will always draw negitive attention wherever she goes, so leaving won't make it better. Her political and family values are wack. Taking the easy road is never the right choice. What happen to "I'm a fighter" we have a common goal. Making jokes at a Press Conference of her resignation about fish, logo's and playing basketkball, she walks off the court in the middle of the game. What kind of team player is that, no one likes a quitter. This goes to show that she never respected her position or the state of Alaska; CNN please go to Alaska and interview the people. How embarrassing to America, especially right before the most PATRIOTIC day in our nation. She let so many people down. If, that's your Role Model and Mentor, great Dude! |

| CAndy Wilson |
July 3rd, 2009 11:19 pm ET It goes without saying how I have felt about Gov. Palin being ready for office and also the conflict as a mother with so many problems at home.. I think she got a "sweet" book deal and maybe something more.. and has decided to take it.. I also think she knows her family needs more of her than she can give them while in public office. God has opened up a way for her to do that now..I wish her the best... |

| bubba |
July 3rd, 2009 11:19 pm ET Yep, she sold out Alaska so that she could legally strike some big deals without all those "ethics" problems. She quit on you Alaska!!! |
|
| Matt Koke |
July 3rd, 2009 11:19 pm ET She made a comment about how much money she owes her lawyers. She obviously has some money making opportunities that conflict with being tied down to a silly job like governing a state. There are speaking engagements to get paid for, best selling books to write, and paid appearances. Its always about the money. |
|
| Mike |
July 3rd, 2009 11:19 pm ET I don't understand this "pass the ball" analogy. The point guard doesn't leave in the middle of the game after passing the ball. He/she DIRECTS the rest of the team and helps the other players on the court succeed. Also, she is shooting herself in the foot by saying this is better for Alaska. She is essentially saying, "Alaska is better off with SOMEONE ELSE running the state." This is all so strange. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:19 pm ET It is scary to here you guys talk... First, it is clear by any standard that |

July 3rd, 2009 11:19 pm ET Being a Alaskan and seeing her work up close so to speak I see this as a move to start running for a national office. I don't think it's the 2012 Presidential election, I see it more as a run for the U.S. senate in 2010. Most likely Don Youngs seat to test her true grit on the national stage. If that turns out to show she can keep with world politics in an intelligent way, than she will probally try for the 2012 bid. By the way I did not vote for her and mostly disagreed with her policies. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:20 pm ET If she is doing what is best for Alaska by quitting, she should do what's best for the US by quitting politics all together! What would Jesus do? Take the road of least resistance that gave him the best chance at power? She should reread her good book. |
|
| Mary Greenough |
July 3rd, 2009 11:20 pm ET She is up to something or they have something big on her. Like you said what if every governor quit. I bet the folks in Alaska are relieved. She more weird than I first thought. Talk about loss cannon! |
|
| Austin Jones |
July 3rd, 2009 11:20 pm ET I guess this is one way of getting some lime light while trying to depict a tone resignation. The speech was very reminecent of her former ones. I think it could only be topped by Tina Fey, and i hope it is. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:20 pm ET the background noise was not an eagle, sounded more like a loon. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:20 pm ET Write a book?? You give her too much credit. I'm having a hard time figuring out who's less intelligent: Palin or her Publicist. Anderson tore her up. |
|
| Ellen from Ohio |
July 3rd, 2009 11:21 pm ET Palin's analogy is idiotic and inaccurate – she is not passing the ball so "Alaska can win the game" – that would be delegating or team work. She is leaving the court altogether, leaving her team without a "point guard" and without its team captain, all to serve her own selfish pursuits. Spin, excuses, and more spin. Her spokeswoman is almost as ignorant as she is. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:22 pm ET Sarah Palin has been the hood ornament for the Gop for this entire run.this is the person who might have become second in command and possibly commander in chief!I'm glad to see her quit now instead of running out of the white house when it got tough. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:23 pm ET Dear Republicans, Please take a very hard look at Sarah Palin!!!!! I don't care if she has "a following" within the party!!!! I continue to be an unaffiliated vote who tended to lean Republican, but she was a big factor in my leaning more toward the Democrats in the last election. It showed poor judgment on McCain's part to choose her and she certainly was and still is not ready for prime time. Her "speeches" during the campaign made me realize that there is a "narrowness" in the Republican party that doesn't bode well with me. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:23 pm ET So, what do I think of this? I think it shows a distinct lack of concern or responsibility. I think it's like going "free agent"... and essentially saying "well, I'm no longer concerned with the boring day to day JOB I undertook... I'M interested in ME, and MY issues and what's good for Sarah Palin... see ya later! Buh BYE.. I got what I wanted. So, how can we be sure she won't go belly up and just resign if she became President, then?? isn't this called "job hopping" and doesn't it indicate and unreliable and unstable employee? Just asking.. I mean, I know that's the ruler that's oft been applied to ME. It all seems very narcissistic and self centered , to me... And the irony I see is that more often than NOT, it's precisely HER party that is hyper critical and picky and judgmental towards others. But then they seem to be able to turn right around and do whatever they please. I'm over politicians and executives, to be honest./they're NO better or more intelligent or different than anybody else, that's become fairly evident. No -I'm sorry.. I just see this as being FLAKY. |
|
| Marilyn |
July 3rd, 2009 11:24 pm ET Sarah Palin's integrity speaks volumes about this woman. All one had to do was to listen. There is obviously no hidden agenda, simply sincerity. The refrigerator magnet reference is so funny and so true. And it went right over the heads of the media and analysts:) |
|
| Ron Caruso |
July 3rd, 2009 11:24 pm ET Dont you think the very obvious things. The press has been tormenting her and her children for a while now. The press has not even spared her Down's syndrome child. I think the reason she is resigining is because of you unethical coverage her family Mr. Anderson Cooper. Go back to the basics of ethical press reporting. You guys have not made a single mention of Obama's daughters and her daughter was you headline story on most days when she was running for president. |
|
| KBrown |
July 3rd, 2009 11:26 pm ET Maybe she feels enough (or too much) money has been spent by the state and herself on all the complaints filed against her and by leaving the office she is saving the state money - NO MORE WASTE. She'll be campaigning in one form or another - either on one or more issues or for another political office. |

| Gord Lewis |
July 3rd, 2009 11:26 pm ET someone in politics thinking about the budget instead of them selfs !!!! think how much money the U.S.A and lives would of saved if Mr George ( all about me ) Bush. would have stepped down!! Way to do it Gov. Palin |

July 3rd, 2009 11:27 pm ET She is nauseating. Sign up for Toastmasters Sarah. Maybe more people will take you seriously. You definitely cannot give a speech to save your life. |
|
| Rosinbagger |
July 3rd, 2009 11:27 pm ET She gave her reason, and as usual no one listened. You are all to busy trying to trash her and can't see that she's a human being with a family who has had more crap thrown at them than anyone in history. If she doesn't defend herself she is accused of being a weak and unsophisticated. If she defends herself people say she has no right, that she brought it on herself. I think it is fear that her popularity could be a political threat. Imagine some one saying the things about Obama's family or Clinton's family that have been said about the Palin's. The moral outrage would be astounding. I say whatever she does she deserves more than she has gotten and I wish her the best. |
|
| Tee |
July 3rd, 2009 11:28 pm ET The real reason she made her decision so quickly and during the holidays is because she thought she could step down and quit while Michael Jackson was getting all the publicity and she could do it unnoticed and not take any serious questions. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:28 pm ET Take her for her word. Geez, have we learned nothing from poor old Vince Foster? The trivial ethics complaints, trying to destroy innocent kids, and a bunch of people who claim to be enlightened and progressive "Tripping the Prom Queen." Whatever party and whatever gender, we need to come to grips with the fact that we will allow the media to destroy the people we elect, sell us garbage we don't need, and convince us that the nothings they endow with 15 minutes of fame are worth our time. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:29 pm ET This new episode, and Sarah P , herself, is totally bizarre. She is a total nut case. My mind is reeling; what is she thinking?? I guess it doesn't matter, because she is so off course. She, as the president of the United States, is such a joke, that it makes this all so amazingly alarming...she has no more chance of becoming the chief executive than does Daffy Duck. They must put something very strange into the Alaskan water system. Sarah, please think this thing through. You are not presidential material ; to think otherwise, is laughable. It is, indeed, so laughable that it is sad. Take your baby and your daughters and go out into the wilderness...I hope you find some peace. You will not find it here. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:30 pm ET Watching Sarah Palin was like watching a mental unraveling. In all seriousness has anyone considered bipolar disorder. The rambling pressured speech and grandiosity do seem to point in that direction. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:31 pm ET I think it's a gift from god that she stepped down. The thought of her running for POTUS in 2012 would be a nightmare. I don't think I could stomach seeing her face and hearing her pathetic rants on a daily basis in another presidential campaign. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:32 pm ET What I find interesting is her comparisons to dead fish, lamb duck status and passing the ball. Is Sarah passing the ball or the buck? |

July 3rd, 2009 11:33 pm ET When asked why, Palin replied 'I was, um yano tired, ya, of seeing them, um, Russians from my house and the Koreans, yano, they have them, um, bomby-things too! |

July 3rd, 2009 11:35 pm ET Sarah is an opportunism. She didn't fool me – I blogged months ago she was not going to go after re-election but she loves attention and MJ was taken her spotlight away. She will run again as an independant! Betcha |

July 3rd, 2009 11:35 pm ET seriously, there should be an exam for participants for public offices like governor, senator and presidency. that would save us from people like Palin. yes Palin, you and your husband are fishermen!!!! duh, you sure have know how to fish attention. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:36 pm ET in Palin talk.... Anderson, she is up to somethin' ! She's ain't foolin' me. We will see the press conference over and over and over in 2012 ! She pumped herself up and knocked everyone that she could...and didn't answer any questions...well, heck...well shucks, guys...this was a perfect way to pat herself on the back and not have to answer for anything that she said. She just likes to play dumb...and I'll bet she is sittin' back watchin' everyone and laughin' as the press is sayin'...WHAT? WHY? HUH?...Nawwww guys, this woman has a plan...just watch...she'll be back...boy, will she be back ! |

July 3rd, 2009 11:36 pm ET people are saying that Michael Jackson should be covered less. As a person with Cerebral Palsy I could not disagree more. Tomorrow there will still be a war, bad economy, and people without jobs. Why not send a positive message to his children and to all of our children and to the future generations that drug and alcohol abuse is not acceptable. Carry on the legacy he left and do something positive. This family, his friends and fans are so sad...especially this one. I applaud CNN for the coverage that my local news could not give and the in depth honesty of their reporters and pictures. Thank You from the very bottom of this viewers heart. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:37 pm ET After listening to her resignation I can't tell if she wants to be a fisherman or a basketball player. How about a cooking show on Fox? I expected her to finish up with "Most of all I want world peace." … |

July 3rd, 2009 11:38 pm ET I'd like to think that this is the LAST we will hear of that dingbat Sarah Palin, but doubt that is the case. What I heard of her speech was very disconnected and rambling. As well as appearing nervous, her voice was shaky and she sounded desperate and rushed, as if she knew that something perilous was about to happen. Time will surely reveal the real motive behind her decision to resign. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:39 pm ET Sarah Palin has more character in her little finger than all the nay-sayers have in their collective bodies! The lowest form of communication is talking about other people. The next level is talking about things. The highest form of communication is talking about ideas. All you people who are so quick to bash Sarah Palin need to take a good look at your own self and be honest enough to see just how low you score when it comes to your communiation skills. It's a pretty pitiful state of affairs when the only way a person can "elevate" themselves is to put their heel in the neck of someone else. Sarah Palin is a true patriot who loves her country in a way that the majority of people who have been so quick to find fault with her are incapable of understanding, much less possessing. Shame, shame, shame on all of you who have maligned her and her family. As the old saying goes . . . what goes around - comes around. I firmly believe God protects those who genuinely belong to Him. Sarah Palin is one of the Godliest women I have ever seen in the political arena. She has much to be proud of and she never hesitates to give credit where credit is due. She is not ashamed of her family, or of her God. The world is a better place because she and others like her are in it. She might not always agree with you, but she would be the first to step up to the plate and defend your right to say what you thought. That's what I call class - that's what I call real character. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:40 pm ET I think if it was about priorities and how it was affecting her family, then fine, she needs to do what she needs to do. But I think it is or will be about the money. What bothers me, is the sports analogies! lol I mean she says she's "passing the ball" but what she's really it is as if she were the team captain, and decides to quit by mid season, but cheer them on from the stands??? That isn't exactly leadership is it?? |

July 3rd, 2009 11:46 pm ET Palin quit today because it took her that long to differentiate between a class captain and governor. both has to do with being the leader though one is more respsnsiblity. poor Palin!!!! |

July 3rd, 2009 11:46 pm ET The new author and soon-to-be millionaire is getting off the politics merry-go-round (for a while) to write her book and do what she loves doing - talk about herself. Yes, she is a quitter but maybe now people will see her for what she really is and has been - not a breath of fresh air in the political arena but a very scary and vapid example of what happens when we value style over substance. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:51 pm ET Keep it simple stupid. You political pundits just do not get it.How can you can call her quirky .She is not just another lame duck gov. Its obvious that since beiing selected to run for VP the press will not let her be just a governer. I applaud her for having the guts to make this decision to get out of the spotlight for Alaska and her family. And AC needs to brush up on his basketball if he does not get the analogy. Politicians make sport analogies all the time. Did he say he just understands politics. I hope he goes back and watches this show and see how stuip and quirky he sounds. |

July 3rd, 2009 11:56 pm ET The woman must be on something, My first reaction was "when will the other boot drop?" But then I heard she has a book deal out there and I decided it's about $$$ and timing - and getting that book done and published next year -- in time to participate in future political follies. My sense is she'll be courting the Conservative Christian segment with her book and touring in the hopes of bringing that to the Republican Table before the next Presidential Election. The truly sad part is the woman can't even put together a press release that is coherent - any book she writes will require the patience of a truly talented editor. |

July 4th, 2009 12:02 am ET And Ed Rollins calls her quirky. You pundits really know how to complicate a simple decision by a politician trying to do the right thing for a change. you are too caught up in your own politics to be able to understand such a intelligent woman. |

July 4th, 2009 12:06 am ET Actually, it's very much in character. She quit 4 colleges before she got a "degree" in journalism at the 5th. She quit her professional handlers during the campaign and went rogue, which may have cost McCain the election. She quit being governor a year ago to run for national office. Now, she quits her only remaining responsibility. Great character, but not for public office. |

July 4th, 2009 12:39 am ET It is a very smart move to resign as governor and here is why. The state will no longer have to spend hundred's of thousands of dollars investigating " ethics" violations that have no merit. not to mention the $500,000.00 she had to spend defending against them. Remember.. Alaska has NO income tax, Alaska has NO sales Tax, the residents of Alaska receive royalty checks every year! Perhaps... Palin is truly looking out for what is best for the people of her State... I wish that more politicians would do what is good for the people and not just what is good for themselves. |

July 4th, 2009 12:58 am ET Something is fishy...and it isn't Alaskan Cod. I wonder why and why now? I don't dislike the mother Sarah, the wife Sarah, or even the Governor Palin, but I certainly don't want to hear about a Representative, Senator, Vice President or heaven forbid a President Palin for the next 3 to 10 years. Even if she went around the country, around the world, or better yet, went back to college, she will never meet the standard for a position of authority in this country's government . I hope she will have better time with her family and less press coverage (though she does seem like a glutton for punishment) |
|

July 4th, 2009 12:58 am ET I really thought I had heard it all untill I heard Palin tonight! She was blathering on like someone turned her key too tight and she malfunctioned! Good job she's just Govenor and not the Captain of the Basketball Team! She'd never get away with tossing the ball and walking off the Court in the middle of a Basketball Game just to save the Team money! I bet Tina Fey will be making more dollars than Alaska on this quitter! This woman is every comedian's dream! |

July 4th, 2009 1:21 am ET I am very disappointed in Sarah Palin. She is not a leader and to be honest with you, her speech sounds so stupid- doesn't even make sense. If she thinks quiting is going to help run for President for 2012, she is more stupid than I thought |

July 4th, 2009 1:22 am ET I 100% agree with Gov. Palin! It is a big waste of tax payers money if she stays in office. It was a big waste to elect her. Best thing that could happen to Alaska!! |

July 4th, 2009 1:26 am ET Palin again. Why doesn't this woman just disappear off into the sunset with her husband and have more babies. Her speech today was laughable, bouncing all over the place as she usually does. And of course, let's not forget that Russia is still and forever in her own backyard. She has now added one more quirky side to her already quirky personality. She holds absolutely no substance at all quitting her job as Governor of Alaska ! I believe she is done, over with and as it should be. |
|
| Andrea P. |
July 4th, 2009 1:28 am ET Maybe she just needs more time for energy to fight the media.! I hope she is our first female President... why can't we accept someone who still has values and can stand up for the average U.S. family and everything that we want but are afraid to say. Even if she writes a book and does talk shows, maybe she can bring about a better awareness of what WE THE PEOPLE want for this country. Sarah is refreshing, and we need her to get rid of the Good Old Boys. She would be a good VP with Mike Huckabee! |

July 4th, 2009 1:36 am ET i think sara palin stepping down from her position shows this is a smart move she really cares about alaska and the people there shes not willing to spend the peoples money on constant trumped up charges against her.i hope she runs for president in 2012 i would gladly vote for her and suppor t her. other . other politicians should take lessons from her this country would be in a better place if they cared more the people and less of thereself. |

July 4th, 2009 1:36 am ET "Cirque du Sarah"! It is such demeaning comments as this one, and the outrageous accusations of her character, that have pushed her to this choice. As I listen to CNN, I hear people saying that they don't understand her reasons. I think her speech made her motives VERY clear. She said quite distinctly that the state of Alaska has suffered due to her constantly having to dodge the verbal assaults of obnoxious news reporters and stand-up comedians, and she is continually defending herself against frivolous investigations. And she wants to keep her children protected from the cheap shots targeted at them. All of this keeps her distracted from her job as governor, and she is passing the baton FOR THE SAKE OF ALASKA, so the next governor can do the job without all the distractions!!!! What is so hard to understand???? I believe it was a very hard decision, because her integrity and her fighter-instinct would both dictate that she stay and fight. But she has come to realize that the fight is costly for her beloved state, and she is trying to get out of the spotlight for the GOOD OF ALASKA. She said she loves her job, so I'm sure this was a very difficult decision for her. It's not surprising to me that CNN is all over her case again, as you have been from the beginning. Why? Because she's a woman, and more likely, because she's a devout Christian woman. And that apparently bothers you, being that your news reporting tends toward the left. Instead of criticizing Sarah Palin yet again, how about applauding her for coming to such a difficult decision, knowing that she will face more ridicule? I see that you moderate the blog comments, so I'd be interested to see if you are courageous enough to post a side that differs from yours. |

July 4th, 2009 1:42 am ET Sarah, never should have been the Governor of Alaska in the first place. She wasn't qualified, and it shows how certain individuals get jobs thru friends. Another good example is FEMA Director for hurricane Katrina. Let's be fair , hire on qualifications and bonuses on performance. Time for this mess of stealing. |

July 4th, 2009 2:21 am ET Anderson, I was listening to you and the political analyst and it seems to me all of you didn't even listen to what she said. She said the reason she quit was to save the taxpayers of Alaska money. She said the state spent over 2 million and over 1000 man hours to dispute "opposition research" over 15 ethics complaints. If you ask me that is leadership not wasting the time or money of the people that voted you in to office. It also seems to me you and your analyst missed the whole point of her resignation. Yes it also saved her and her family some money too. Even if that was the only reason she did it's still the best for her. Any one that wouldn't want to save themselves and their family some money is an idiot. |
|
| Richard C. |
July 4th, 2009 2:21 am ET As far as Sarah Palin's basketball analogy is concerned, she hasn't simply passed off the ball to another player. She was driving the lane, saw three 7 footers standing in her way and decided it would be better to put the ball down and walk off the court. The truly disturbing thing is that this is her definition of "leadership." Thank God she never got the opportunity to quit the Vice Presidency. |
|
| Nancy |
July 4th, 2009 2:23 am ET Anderson, you don't get it? Sarah has more integrity than other politicians because she is not willing to let others, via media, waste Alaska's money by defending herself and her family from all the ugly accusations and attacks. Her priorities are right! Family and her State! |
|
| Sue Parzybok |
July 4th, 2009 2:27 am ET Yippee! Just another nonsensical things for Sarah Palin. I'm sorry but it's time everyone noticed that this woman has only one thing going for her – she has duped part of the country into thinking that she has something to offer us in terms of leadership. I'm a woman and I don't think leadership is her best skill. She might lead part of this country into thinking she is brilliant but I certainly think she is nothing short of rediculous. Here is a woman who put all her kids on stage to make her look good and when people ask why two of her kids didn't graduate from high school, she is insulted. She is not the one I want to lead the discussion on education when she can't even lead her five children. How pathetic. When are people going to see her as nothing short of a bag of wind!! |
|
| irene |
July 4th, 2009 2:34 am ET I think Sarah Palin's children, especially her youngest son, need her more that the State of Alaska does. I think she should be true to the values she espouses and give her baby the right to a GOOD life, one that includes the presence of a loving mother more than just once in a while for photo ops. |
|
| Paul Haggard |
July 4th, 2009 2:40 am ET I beleive since Sarah Palin states she still wants to to fight for her positions and concerns she has a deal to do either a radio or TV show to try and become the new Rush Linbaugh or the new voice of the Republican party. She probably feels that her popularity would probably make her a TV star and gain the power that Rush Limbaugh has over their party without being a politiician restricted to campaign restrictions and poltical office legalities. She probably assumes Obama will be re-elected in 2012 and she would be able to establish herself and her on-air reputation to run in 2016. |
|
| Ali B |
July 4th, 2009 2:41 am ET I whole heartedlly agree with Barleyman. Good image... no substance. Now she was elected by the people of Alaska to be govenor and after 18 mos. she quits. And, of course, she sports the party line...... you, the people who supported and elected me are stupid. I know what is best, and it is best for Alaska that I not finish the job you voted me to do. I don't think she is going on to do something good for Alaska or the Republican party. She is going on to do what is most self serving for Sarah Palin. And if she becomes Vice President will she also quit because she doesn't like the way the game is played, or because she thinks it is best or because someone waves a better carrot in front of her. The "little darlimg" seems to be a little ditsy. |
|
| Samantha |
July 4th, 2009 2:43 am ET Anderson, You stayed with your questions despite the unintelligent answer provided. I would like to believe Sarah is finally gone. She jumped the gun when Mc Cain brought her into the presidential race, for which she was totally not qualified, by going in her own direction. A little humility would have gone a long way! |

July 4th, 2009 2:48 am ET Tom Foreman admits he knows nothing about sports, that is not all he seems to be ignorrant about, that being Sarah Palin. Why is it that the liberal media works so hard at trying to destroy that which is good, decent, moral and conservative. What protected space did Mr. Foreman grow up in. Possibly he should start reading the King James Bilble, in particular, the New Testament for insight and a purpose for life. If he does not see what the future looks like his vision of the future is definitely distorted. It takes a leader to step up and sometimes to step down for what ever reasons, let's just trust her judgement and courage. Sarah has done nothing to require her to leave office, but there are many politicians in Washington D.C. who should leave office, those who have no ethics, morals, dignity or honesty left in them. Respectfully Submitted |

July 4th, 2009 3:07 am ET That had to be the longest resignation speech I ever heard. What made it so boring was that she kept rambling on about nothing. This just shows that in politics only the strong survive, and its quite evident that Gov. Palin does not have the tenacious will power in order to be a politician. |
|

July 4th, 2009 3:13 am ET There should be a top ten (10) reasons Gov. Palin is quitting. I only have seven (7) Ps. Feel free to fill in the missing 2 or 200. lol. |

July 4th, 2009 3:27 am ET Oh Sarah Palin, your wailin' whinin' curtain call sounded mighty odd,out there in the yard with good ol' husband Todd. The gotchas are comin' and gettin' ya to the tune of half a mil, your lawyers fat and happy, and damn if you aren't shrill! Breathing hard behind your mic, (panting, it was indeed) beltin' out those reasons like...wait why is it again? Ah, for Alaska, for Alaska, you can't bear to see its coffers bleed. Well, aren't you sweet? A basketball analogy, a wrong-way dead fish, a magnet on your mama's fridge (and I think I saw Russia, behind you, past that ridge). Cue the lake, the geese, the "darns" and "values" and all that crap...but the silence you heard at the end was that dreaded one-hand clap. Begone!!! |
|
| Carol |
July 4th, 2009 3:28 am ET I dont understand why you are at such a loss to figure out what Sara Palin said. She listed her accomplishments as Governor. She gave her reasons for stepping down and she was not secretive about it. Simply stated, It is in the best interest of Alaska for her to pass the reigns to the Lt Governor. She will be free to travel about the country and help other candidates as well as any other accomplishments without being constantly bogged down with frivilous lawsuits that cost both the state of Alaska and herself a lot of time and money. Maybe now the media, celebrities and bloggers will stop their mocking, ridicule and downright "sick" comments about her kids. |

July 4th, 2009 8:20 am ET I saw Anderson's interview with Gov. Palin's spokesperson (who was in NY, not Alaska). The Spokesperson made the analogy that Gov. Palin is being a team player by passing the ball to another person on her team. My thought? The person who is voted the team captain should remain on the team & continue playing until the season is over! |

July 4th, 2009 8:50 am ET Anderson-I don't watch sports either but I certainly understand Sara's description of why she is leaving as she realted it to basketball, as I was shocked at how YOU didn't understand (on national t.v. to boot). She is a smart leader as more people should be like her. |

July 4th, 2009 9:32 am ET I thought she made it very clear why she was resigning. She is spending too much time and money (both that Alaska can't afford) to respond to the attacks on her. Seems like a no duh to me |
|
| L. McFall |
July 4th, 2009 10:15 am ET I am really tired of the negative publicilty that Sarah Palin is receiving. She has been under attack by the media constantly. Could it be that she is making this move for her family! They have been under attack also. I consider her an excellent example of leadership. Could it be that family takes prime importance over her job! Where is the compassion in the media. The media is not even a good example for the American people. |

July 4th, 2009 10:16 am ET Sarah Palin for president, don't make us laugh, the woman is a ZERO. Keep in mind Michael's song LEAVE ME ALONE!! It is time to put the news to rest, let him rest in peace!!!!! |

July 4th, 2009 10:22 am ET Unbelieveable. The belief that Sarah Palin is bizarre (happy in her life), after $$$ or someone has some 'dirt' on her and one or any of these reasons menioned here being hers for resigning office of Governor is just silly thoughtless blithering about nothing. The truth is...she is smart, socially conservative, interesting and, she is all about the preservation of marriage and family and folks can't wait to see what she is planning. They want to see her flop on her face. They want to see her fail as they have done. Men and women are mixed up these days. The feminist movement is to blame in part. If a woman is beautiful and intelligent...there just HAS to be something wrong and there has to be something not normal. (tongue in cheek) Men and women (uncomfortable with the afore mentioned) are threatened by Sarah Palin plain and simple. She is not above fault (noone is) but she is for duty, honor and country..and family. She is not selfishly evil. Of course I don't know what Sarah is planning but she will be SERVING our country and not trying to RULE it like the current liberals in charge. |

July 4th, 2009 10:32 am ET I mean, c'mon...was anybody really on the same page with her? Honestly, the idea that there are people out there that not only related to that speech, but dubbed it "brilliant" frightens me. |

July 4th, 2009 10:32 am ET Oh my god...cry me a river!!! Palin, politics is and has ALWAYS been tough and arguably focused on bringing others down. At least that is one of the points of the game. Indeed, this is what makes politics interesting. Since before the beginning of our great constitutional republic, politics has been a challenging game. Every good politician knows this and is willing to take heat. If you cannot take it, then you have done the right thing...you have shamelessly quit and left the hot kitchen. Palin is a poor excuse for a female politician. She does not deserve the presidency. Do you think that Hillary Clinton or Condi Rice or the host of other successful and tough skin female politicians who are willing to take the necessary blows to progress their causes. Palin is a joke!!! |

July 4th, 2009 11:02 am ET The imagery of the first paragraph in this story got my attention! Poor Yanni, I CAN envision him – attached to an albatross, hurtling toward Earth and certain doom, plummeting, spiraling ever downward. His demise appears imminent. Oh, for the love of Yanni, say it ain't so! Wait! What's that I see? Salvation? Yes, Yanni lives! Thankfully someone possessed the foresight and brilliance to duct tape all those ducks to the baby grand! (smile) |

July 4th, 2009 11:20 am ET It is re-branding time for Sarah Palin The republicans are losing ground. She is still young enough to redo herself |

July 4th, 2009 11:27 am ET She really needs to go away...I find her offensive......But ? I might add after she ran with Mc Cain? My brother kept sending money to Obama....I went to work for Obama and the offices of Obama were so filled with people............We worked to fight against her! And we won!...........Thats all folks..............................The Republican Party should feel shame but of course they don't.......Ohhhhh....She can't take the heat? She was ready to dish it out during the campaign inciting crowds to question Obama and his roots........How's this...Take your Dude and guns....And disappear......What a freakazoid............. |

July 4th, 2009 11:45 am ET It's the end of Sarah's beauty queen era which obviously took her a long way. Politics in the big arena requires more than beauty when you're competing with highly educated and intellectual individuals. Something was "off" about Sarah when she said she could beat President Obama in a marathon, which had nothing to do with nothing. Just a nut case. |

July 4th, 2009 11:56 am ET The speech was bizarre. She was ramblng on about nothing and speaking way too fast. It was obvious that she was lying (again) and trying to get her story out there before the real reason is revealed. One of the zillion things that annoyed me about the speech was the unsubstantiated claim that adults had been making jokes about her baby. Who? Where? That would've been HUGE news and she would've had her face on every channel complaining about it. She made a big deal about the Letterman joke, which was clearly about her oldest daughter – who is a legal adult, and a public figure. But she doesn't say a word about jokes surrounding the baby until now? OK Sarah, I agree with you – for once. It would be an awful thing for an adult to make jokes about your special needs infant. So, who did it? Let's see the video. Let's read the article. Or were you just going in for the three-pointer with that false claim? |

July 4th, 2009 12:03 pm ET Once again, Caribou Barbie displays her ignorance of the English language by appearing clueless about the true meaning of "lame duck." She is not a lame duck; that is an elected official from the time that his/her successor is elected and when that successor is inaugurated. What a dunce. She and her supporters have no idea what a laughingstock she was and is. She has pretty much sunk her future political ambitions, but that's OK, it's obvious she values the call of the dollar more than her sworn oath. |

July 4th, 2009 12:09 pm ET I have no idea why Sara Palin is resigning, but I hope it is to travel nationwide and make people aware of what is happening to this country and our individual freedoms under the leadership of our Marxist president. More and more people are seeing the handwriting on the wall but not enough. The news media is either too stupid to see what's happening or doesn't care that our country is being destroyed by this man. I also don't believe in global warming. It 's another means of power grabbing and a means for some (the so-called elite) to get wealthier, aka Al Gore. Wake up people. |

| mary Frost |
July 4th, 2009 12:09 pm ET I believe that Palin told us why she was resigning, but you politicans, not realizing that there ARE a few truthful people still in political life, just cannot believe that the told the truth. She put her state first. Too many people, both democrat and republican, were against her because she could not tolerate corruption, no matter what party. She went after both sides. She realized that her state and herself, were having to spend too much time and money to acquit her of the frivolous lawsuits–which she WAS ACQUITTED OF. She also knows that our country is headed in the wrong direction, so she is going to try and get people elected that will change that. Take her at her word and quit reporting that she did not give her reasons for resigning. |

July 4th, 2009 12:21 pm ET How about this for a theory: Palin has gotten a job as a "Hired Gun" for the GOP, working with 2010 canidates, giving speaches at their fundraisers. Sadly, no one rallys the republicans like Sarah! |

July 4th, 2009 12:26 pm ET Things you should know if Palin becomes an Iditarod musher: For the dogs, the Iditarod is a bottomless pit of suffering. Six dogs died in the 2009 Iditarod. Two dogs on Dr. Lou Packer's team froze to death in the brutally cold winds. What happens to the dogs during the race includes death, paralysis, frostbite (where it hurts the most!), bleeding ulcers, bloody diarrhea, lung damage, pneumonia, ruptured discs, viral diseases, broken bones, torn muscles and tendons and sprains. At least 142 dogs have died in the race. No one knows how many dogs die after this tortuous ordeal or during training. For more facts about the Iditarod, visit the Sled Dog Action Coalition website. |

July 4th, 2009 12:31 pm ET P. S. I love how Sarah took everyone by surprise, just like her nomination for VP. The liberal media are left with their mouths gaping, seeking to characterize her act as yet another great evil from this sexy babe. They LOVE her body, but hate who she is and what she stands for, and are so confused. I'm enjoying this moment, and I have Sarah to thank for it. |

July 4th, 2009 1:43 pm ET I just wanted to express my deep gratitude (along with perhaps 100 million others or so) to Sarah Palin. Sarah – don't give up politics, please! Please run in 2012!!! And in 2016 and in 2020 and in 2024.... You were the BEST fundraiser the Democratic party ever had. |

July 4th, 2009 1:55 pm ET Governor? One who spends their time, energy, and personal savings defending oneself in frivolous lawsuits? One who endures endless attacks on one's family? Governor Sarah Palin graciously resigned to protect her family and her beloved Alaska. |
|
| Dawn |
July 4th, 2009 2:24 pm ET I don't think Gov. Palin is a quitter at all. Part of being a leader is dealing with the media (who are also supposed to be professional), but you also need to know what is the best direction for your state (AZ take note). I'm glad she puts her family first. You Go Girl! |

July 4th, 2009 2:41 pm ET Sarah Palin is the point guard. The basket is the goal to improve government. People are breaking her down like a broken knee. She does not want to quit but she is wobbling down the court. She realizes that the best way to help her team is if she hands the ball over to someone else and does something else to help the cause like become a coach (reporter...fair and balanced) and teach kids not to play dirty. |

July 4th, 2009 2:41 pm ET Sarah has been criticized for every move she makes. Not by Republicans, I'm sure. As Senator, Obama did not vote ONCE on the abortion issue and never on the late-term abortion. Sarah was criticized for birthing a down syndrome baby. Da...............It is said she has no experience. Obama was never in charge of people...never elected governor...and look at the mess we are in now. He 'scolded' Honduras but is weak toward our biggest threat: North Korea. They are looking at Hawaii??? His oath was to protect our country. |

July 4th, 2009 2:54 pm ET I find Sara Palin's comments about lame duck governors to be quite interesting. Perhaps she is not acquainted with Jennifer Granholm. Jennifer Granholm can't run again because of term limits so she falls into the category of a lame duck governor. Talk about having to listen to criticism - she is the governor is a state with 14.1% unemployment. Sarah - try handling that kind of media attention. Jennifer Granholm isn't sitting back but constantly going out to try to attract jobs for Michigan. She has managed to get GE to pick Michigan for a R&D facility that will create 1,200 jobs. Jennifer Granholm has three children but she doesn't drag them out front and center and then complain when they appear in media reports. Sara Palin has had more than her 15 minutes of fame and I would love to see her fade away. Jennifer Granholm hasn't been a perfect governor but when you compare the two, Jennifer Granholm is substance and Sarah Palin is fluff. |

July 4th, 2009 4:32 pm ET So hypothetically, if Palin wins the presidency in 2012 and then doesn't want to run for re-election in 2016, will she just step down in 2015 to avoid the "politics as usual" move of completing your term. Maybe some of the soldiers in Iraq would like to step down a year early and return home without completing their full service and avoid "war as usual". Hmm, maybe I won't make my last mortgage payment and let the bank deal with it to avoid "finances as usual". |
|
| Kevin |
July 4th, 2009 4:50 pm ET Its one thing not to run for re-election but its another to quit with just 18 months to go. And her reasons for quitting do not fit the image she tries so desperately to make of herself. Sure many lame duck politicians do things that are not right but by quitting because she is all of a sudden a lame duck suggests that she would have done all those wrong things herself if she remained in office for the next 18 months. She could have been a lame duck and still fought hard and honestly for her state if that is truly who she is right?? |
|
| Sandacious |
July 4th, 2009 5:20 pm ET She gave a hint.. "spent $500k on legal fees." What she meant to say is why be a lame duck governor when I can make money now! As her family said, "hell yeah." |
|
| Alex |
July 4th, 2009 5:24 pm ET Sadly Tom, I fear you are correct. Sarah Palin loves "drama" and she's a lousy act writer (amongst other things). I frankly don't trust this woman and whatever her reasons, she's a quiter and a pure politician out to see what's in it for her. |

July 4th, 2009 8:26 pm ET To tell you the truth... from the news reports the decision really confused me!! However, once I got to see and hear what Sarah said, "I think she is BRILLIANT!!" What I heard is that she wants to be a MOVER and SHAKER within the AMERICAN political system ... NOT TIED to REPUBS or DEMS but tied to AMERICANS!!!! THANK GOD for Sarah Palin!!! I get it!!! |
|
| Ethan |
July 4th, 2009 8:36 pm ET I think all of these are good reasons for her resignation. However, I do think that there has to be some inside, unknown story that has not yet be revealed. I think that "unknown story" is related to what she mentioned in her speech about when she asked her family what they thought about her resignation, she said that "there were three yeses and one hell yeah!" and that she would explain that "hell yeah" at another time. Maybe that explanation will lead to some answers. Or possibly propose new questions. |

July 4th, 2009 9:31 pm ET I believe she is setting her self up to run full force for 2012 which is pointless, it sounded to me she is using reverse physcology talk about the "lame duck" polotics... its a stunt that will fail |

July 4th, 2009 10:06 pm ET I was disgusted, watching Anderson make comments about Sarah Palin with such scorn. Anderson, I hope you do not call yourself a journalist because your bias is showing. You didn't like her when she was a politician and now you are complaining that she is quiting. Here may be the real reason she is leaving – there is no pleasing you people – now who will your ridicule nightly? Maybe you will have to open your mouth about Pelosi and Reid – oh wait, you can probably milk the Michael Jackson thing fora few more months - |

July 4th, 2009 10:33 pm ET One can only bet that there is in fact something else for Palin. I will admit I voted a McCain, Palin ticket, not because I wanted them to win, or thought for even a second they would win, it was a step away from congress, the senate, all those elected people I had been supporting, yet had failed to support me. Will I do the same type of voting on the next ballot, yes, I most certainly will. It is time to weed the garden, put a little salt on the slugs and get things growing again. On the other hand, now Palin has more free time to shoot wolves from airplanes, moose that may wonder up on her front lawn, and keep her eyes trained toward Russia. |

July 4th, 2009 10:55 pm ET At last, she can get her kids out of the media. Perhaps this was part of her motivation. |

July 4th, 2009 11:20 pm ET Funny how in her speach she talked about never being a quitter, as she QUIT! She really is not setting a good example. Every step she makes is more and more damaging to her credibility. I think anything in Politics bigger than Governor of Alaska is way too big for her. She simply is NOT qualified. She might be nice, she might be tough, she might be God fearing, but that doesn't make you smart. She needs to focus on her qualities, whatever they might be. They truly is no room for her in Politics. We don't need to be the joke of the World again. A sharp tongue in her case doesn't show intelligence, it shows desperation. She is in over her head and finally is realizing it. We have had our fill of puppets, lets MOVE ON. |

July 5th, 2009 1:47 am ET Not surprising that she did not finish the job that she signed up for as governor. Also as usual, she is blaming someone else for her troubles. Palin is a victim. She is probably going to make a ton of money doing that book, and being some talk show host. Unfortunately, we have probably not heard the last of her. |

July 5th, 2009 3:02 am ET Now it is time to find out if Mrs. Palin really had a baby. In being a true hockey mom slash pitbull there was no mentioning to her constituent of her pregnancy. What better joy to have a baby girl or boy. I would like the records to be made available to public, |
|
| Debbie, Appleton Maine |
July 5th, 2009 8:58 am ET Would it be asking to much to just believe what she said? It's cost Alaska over 2 million and her family over half a million in legal fees just defending her good name and reputation. She never imagined that would be what she would be spending her time and the state's money on as governor. Her family unanimously agreed with her that they would all be much better off if she left early. End of story. You know some people actually do things from pretty good motives... |
|
| Lee |
July 5th, 2009 9:34 am ET While a presidential or senate run I believe are inevitable for the pinhead princess from Alaska, the immediate future is surely about money (both personal and fund raising for political ambition). It will be much easier to keep her face in the limelight and her pockets full cash (and clothes, and make up...) without being restricted like a child being timed out to the nether regions of Alaska. |

July 5th, 2009 10:34 am ET So what’s next for Palin?…The Real housewives of Alaska? Shes perfect for that…drama, drama, drama! @Maria, San Juan, Puerto Rico HAHAHAHAHAHA SO TRUE! In the end, ethics have nothing to do with it. This article is perfect; 'Cirque de Sarah announces end of the Alaska '09 tour'. Couldn't have put it better myself. But know, I think she plans to remain a celebrity until 2012 where she shall whip out her plans to rule the world. |

July 5th, 2009 11:44 am ET Sarah Palin needs to be on medication. She has some kind of personality disorder. She says things that it is so ridiculous,it doesn't make sense. It is so clear that she is lying about small things that doesn't even to be lied about. She was a lousey governor and she will be a lousey president. Not very bright...I love watching her,it is like watching a train wreck. Margaret |

July 5th, 2009 11:47 am ET The constant negative comments from the media and bloggers is a clear indication of how truely afraid you are of her. Just imagine how America would be so much better off had she and McCain been elected. Let see, America would have not spent trillions of dollars that we did not have, the government would not be running car business or banking for that matter. We would have had a strong stand on Iran, unlike the wimpy reaction that Obama had. Fear and hate that is all you have to say. Obama is the true fraud, and there is only so much that the media and obamamaniacs can say and do before the true Obama is revealed for his lack of experience and inability. |

July 5th, 2009 2:58 pm ET Excuse me, but didn't Obama quit his senate job, to run for POTUS? and please stop with all the HATe it is time to get past this. Obama is in charge now, and he is the one you all should be watching and remarking about. And grace what did the message that Obama sent by not finishing his Senate Post say to the millions of AA children? that you start one job, and not finish it because someone thinks you might do a better job somewhere else? how about if everybody would finish the first position they were elected to before they are able to start a run for another job? Maybe, just maybe she got tired of all the crap she got from the Democrats, and The News Media, I won't mention any stations, because I unlike others here am past all that. |

July 5th, 2009 4:56 pm ET Very patriotic of her to quit her job as an elected official of her beloved Alaska on the eve of the most celebrated of American holidays. I think she wanted to draw some of the attention away from the coverage of Michael Jackson. Well she did... for about 30 seconds! Nice try Miss Patriotic Alaska runner up |

July 5th, 2009 7:09 pm ET Strangely, many of Palin's beliefs are legitimate! Small government, conservative rebuilding, and emphasis on family demands-all legitimate and important, time-consuming endeavors. Regardless of the publicity and politic, she is only one woman trying to balance a complex life. |

July 5th, 2009 9:21 pm ET A higher calling? Is she going to be a T.V. evangelist or what? Could you imagine her as VP??? "John, I quit, you'll need to find someone to replace me." Quitter! |

July 5th, 2009 10:39 pm ET Hey dems. she's smarter than you all ,so just sit back ,shut up and see what happens. There is so much hate in the dem.party for this beautiful lady that they themselves cant smell the roses. |
|
| Masa |
July 5th, 2009 11:39 pm ET She because she's not seeking reelection, it's better to step down now? That makes absolutely no sense. "Lame duck" terms are when politicans can get their own agendas accomplished without having to cater to the swing votes to get elected. I could see that believe that she truly believes that this is the best way to prepare for 2012, but leaving mid-term after only 3 years of experience will only lessen her chances even more. |

July 6th, 2009 1:46 am ET Palin was a good Governor and had many accomplishments though the Libs and Tom Foreman don't want to admit it. Have you libs had enough? There were 15 ridiculous ethics charges brought against her by the Libs and all 15 were proven invalid. Leaving the remote state of Alaska to run for president would make sense. Most other politicians including some Senators (Obama, Clinton) dropped their concerns for their state to run for office. I would be happy to consider her as a role model over the likes of Clinton and her political secrets or Palosi and her questionable dealings. |

July 6th, 2009 2:11 am ET I hope her book signings, talk show appearances, and other ventures provide her family with the finances they need. Oh, by the way, the Republican party "divorce" papers should be posting right about ... now! I'm quite sure they're elated the Palin fiasco is over! |
|
| Quinn |
July 6th, 2009 5:17 am ET This just reeks of strategy. I take this sudden announcement two ways: 1. as an extension of the republican (more specifically, Palin's) presidential campaign or 2. An act of defiance against the new administration–neither of which 'honorable.' Not to mention that Pailn, as a politician, is wholly insubstantial. This announcement is just like her politics: vague, based off -isms, and ruled by 'ethics.' In her world, everything is right and just. Palin can do no wrong. I feel bad for her family but what politician hasn't faced negative press? I don't see the need for exceptionalism. I'm annoyed. I thought we'd see the end of her after this election. A bumper sticker I saw earlier this year sums it all : "America's women have not waited 232 years for sarah plain." |

July 6th, 2009 7:53 am ET i'm probably not the one to judge (specially since i can only follow american politics over the few podcast i get here in switzerland) – but that was a very bizzare speech of sarah palin and seemed to be even less prepared than her ealier statements ... for me it seems almost like she wants to be more a comedian than a politician ... maybe she feels like tina fey (?) is the better palin than herself ? |
|
| mary |
July 6th, 2009 11:56 am ET Well my guess is that she hitting premenopause, realizing her special needs child really needs her, at her word wants to get her family out of the caustic spotlight, knows now is the time to write that book or never to make some real money. Or she is truly delusional- narcisstic and will be back...! |
|
| marlene schenter |
July 6th, 2009 12:07 pm ET Why did Sarah Palin resign. It's simple. Think of all the money she is going to make on the lecture circuit. Doesn't matter that she paraded her unwed pregnant daughter all over the country, and now resents that she has become the object of ridicule, or that she has violated her oath as govenor. Money talks. |
