Tonight on 360°, why a public memorial for Michael Jackson won't be held at his Neverland ranch. Plus, who's named and who's not in Jackson's will. If you have a question about Jackson's estate text it to 94553. The message must start with the letters AC, and then a space, then your name and question. If you do not include AC first with a space, we will not receive your text.

Good evening 360 team and twitter friends. This MJ death has turned into a circus of horror! I wish they would just give MJ his dignity and have a private service. Gosh, I almost dread what will happen next.
Bizarre!

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:00 pm ET

Hello Everyone!

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   July 1st, 2009 10:00 pm ET

Helloooo Anderson, Erica, Edurrado(Ed Henry) David Gergen and my friends Twitter/Facebook Bloggers!!!!!
I was so surprised Michael Jackson's will says Diana Ross will take care of MIchael Jackson's children. Wow!

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:00 pm ET

Evening, Anderson!
Evening, 360 team, David (Indiana) and friends!

Another chapter in the Michael Jackson's history: now his will

Mike, Syracuse, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:01 pm ET

Hi Anderson. Do you think we can cover something else besides Michael Jackson tonight?

An   July 1st, 2009 10:01 pm ET

Hi Anderson

Hi bloggers.

Sharon Hastings   July 1st, 2009 10:01 pm ET

Good evening Anderson, 360 team, all bloggers.

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:01 pm ET

The police are looking for something big. Maybe we will
all find out in a month from now.

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:01 pm ET

hello all,
I'm glad the DEA is looking into this. The irresponsible doctors need to be put out of business.
More people die of abuse of prescription meds each year than illegal drugs!

Chris Sosa - Boston, MA   July 1st, 2009 10:02 pm ET

Good evening, Anderson, Erica, and bloggers! Glad the investigation is ongoing. I remember the day he died saying that I was hoping for a manslaughter trial regarding the drug situation.

Jasmine   July 1st, 2009 10:02 pm ET

tabloids have kept calling him Jacko...you think that nickname would die with the guy....

Mary Ann from West Virginia   July 1st, 2009 10:02 pm ET

these "roc docs" have been around for years. this is not a new issue in the industry

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:02 pm ET

Cnn is the Best at covering the MJ story to the fullest.

Gady Mayen from Canada   July 1st, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Hey Anderson Copper & Erica Hill, & bloggers! There should really an AC360 online community :-) I should manage it for suggesting it :-P

Tammy, Houma, LA   July 1st, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Hi everyone.

It's about time the feds get involved in this to prevent another tragedy from happening again. It's so sad his death is a circus. When will his reputation find peace?

Shannon   July 1st, 2009 10:04 pm ET

hello everyone....

What a strange day. Wonder if Diana Ross knew that she was nominated as a guardian.

Will be interesting to see what the DEA finds out.

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Anderson,

How does the story by the nurse is fact from Fake? Also If not Neverland Down town L.A. Staples Center? How safe will that be for all the fans and family of Michael?

eleanor coombs, ga.   July 1st, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Hello Anderson,Erica and all. Glad to know there is a Will left by Michael .

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:05 pm ET

How do we know if the authorities sealed off parts
of the house ?

andy   July 1st, 2009 10:05 pm ET

i think that that dr is guilty. I do not know why I think that, but he is getting paid alot of money, he was delayed in calling 911. Why would you wait? It does not make sense. I hope they get to the bottom of this and place in jail the enablers that were paid to help michael but did not act in their best interest.

starr formerly known as vincent   July 1st, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Hello Anderson, Erica & Team 360.
Hello fellow bloggers.

Excellent reporting by Drew Giffen. As always,Anderson asks the best questions.

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:06 pm ET

It was not consider to be a crime scene only a death scene.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   July 1st, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Armando,Roswell NM,
Yes, CNN is best team in the world, That is my favorite to watch CNN all day!

Gayle McCauley Malden,Mass.   July 1st, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Greetings to All! I agree 100% with the statement from Minou above. The DEA should fully investigate and prosecute accordingly...

Teresa   July 1st, 2009 10:06 pm ET

BTW...Anderson, I've really been impressed with your reporting on the MJ death and aftermath. Keep up the awesome reporting!

Larry   July 1st, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Hopefully there will be a complete coroner's inquest that will look at all the possibilities, including enablers, as the source(s) of all and any drugs obtained legally or not.

Can suicide, assisted or not, be ruled out?

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Dependence on prescription medication is a huge problem in the US. I'm glad CNN is focusing on MJ's drug problem, but i hope this problem will be discussed aside from MJ. People think Tylenol is safe and so they overdose and often die. The public needs to be made aware of over-the-counter-drugs as well as prescrip. meds.

Kim   July 1st, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Michael will be missed! And I think it is sad that so many ppl come out for their 15 mins of fame when someone dies!!

Cynthia, NC   July 1st, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Good evening, everyone. I agree it's odd that the police released Michael's home to his family after he died, only to go back in a couple of days later to collect more evidence.

Thank goodness Joe Jackson wasn't included in the will.

Shannon   July 1st, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Did anyone really expect him to leave money to Debbie Rowe?

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:07 pm ET

@ Megan Dresslar

The friendship and trust that Michael Jackson had in Diana Ross should be enormous, since he put it as the second person in the custody of their children

Mary Ann from West Virginia   July 1st, 2009 10:08 pm ET

didn't he give Debbie Rowe money when they divorced?

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:08 pm ET

That why it is called a will because at will one can say what one wants as will.

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:09 pm ET

Sad to See the DEA get involved in this hole mess. Things are turning out to be fale play on the Doctor's part. Maybe he give to much med's are one time and Michael's body could not handle it all at once.

Lori from IL   July 1st, 2009 10:09 pm ET

@BettyAnn - I agree. I'm awaiting the day when Michael is laid to rest and the news media moves on to the news of the day - all of this cannot be good for his children.

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:09 pm ET

It does not surprise me that MJ wanted his mom
involved they were close.

Jasmine   July 1st, 2009 10:10 pm ET

@Kim, Michael has had more then 15 minutes of fame, lets try 5/6 days of fame....

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   July 1st, 2009 10:11 pm ET

MJ had so many siblings. I wonder why THEY could not take care of his three children? Very curious~

Eugenia - San Francisco, Ca   July 1st, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Come on folks, you fooling your self if you thought the events occurring after Michael Jackson death would anything but a circus!

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   July 1st, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Michael probably knew that Diana Ross was a good mother. I never heard anything bad about her kids.

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:11 pm ET

NO one Loves you like your mother.

michael armstrong sr.   July 1st, 2009 10:11 pm ET

its quite obvious that michaels death is drug related the thing is that these drugs to actors and performores needs to be bought under control and it needs to start at the studios if they check positive for drugs then they dont perform until there clean and as far as his kids go they need to be with there grandmaw sending them to diana ross would be like sending them to a stranger there probly trumatised enough they need to be with familar faces .

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:12 pm ET

"Will, It will be done!"

Sharon Hastings   July 1st, 2009 10:12 pm ET

I'm glad you are having updates on Afghanistan. There hasn't been much news specifics about that.

Gady Mayen from Canada   July 1st, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Wow, CNN in California looks SUPER COOL :-P please invite me!!!!!!!!!

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:12 pm ET

I saw numbers earlier today for the music sales for MJ.
The sales are through the root. I am waiting for the dvd
+ cd combo.I am sure there must be a director's cut to
Thriller and the other music videos.

Chris Smith   July 1st, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Lucille Ball is not buried at Forest Lawn anymore. Her ashes were there in 1989 but a few years ago her family moved her remains to her hometown of Jamestown, NY.

MaryAnn   July 1st, 2009 10:13 pm ET

When a person becomes an entertainer, they open themselves up to a certain amount of public exposure. However, I don't feel that what was in his will, or much of what is being discussed, is really any of our business. It has no bearing on his talents or contributions.

Dodie ~ California   July 1st, 2009 10:13 pm ET

There is the forum, Hollywood bowl just to name more places for public viewing of MJ.

Annie Kate   July 1st, 2009 10:13 pm ET

Hopefully there won't be a problem with MJ's kids going to Katherine – they are tweens so if she survives another 10 years she would get them to where they wouldn't be minors anymore.

Jolene, St. Joseph, MI   July 1st, 2009 10:14 pm ET

It's sad how unorganized the family is regarding MJ funeral plans. Perhaps having a memorial at Neverland wasn't so smart afterall but you would think the family would have something figured out by now.

If the family denies the public a MJ memorial, I think that would be just as tragic as his untimely death.

lisaburks   July 1st, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Lucille Ball is no longer at FLHH per Randi Kaye's story about where MJ might be buried. Here's a complete list (including John Ritter, singer Andy Gibb) and also MJ's sister in law Delores, Tito's wife.

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Many stars seem to fall in that sad fate.

Dawn Wilson   July 1st, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Hi bloggers! AC your really good! question why didn:t he doctors who were with Michael Jackson give him Narcan? its supposed to work all the time!

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:14 pm ET

As a mother, I already conjecture who would be the person that could to stay with my son if I were to fail. This is a difficult thought, but there is only one person in this life, Teresa, my best friend.

Mike, Syracuse, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Unfortunately CNN is contributing to the circus by giving air time to unsubstantiated accusations like the nurse. While i believe her story, we only have her word. What ever happened to getting confirmation?

Teresa   July 1st, 2009 10:15 pm ET

MJ will definitely be missed. I enjoy the great coverage on CNN, but somehow, it makes me very sad for him, the life he led, what he went through. I think at the core, he was a very lonely person.

starr formerly known as vincent   July 1st, 2009 10:15 pm ET

At least MJ has a will. It would be an unmitigated disaster if he didn't.

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:15 pm ET

MJ was on pain killers (and who knows what) and those are classified as opioids/narcotics. An overdose can result in respiratory depression, coma, etc.. since MJ died of respiratory failure and the resulting heart failure is seems he might have overdosed on a narc.
Drug abusers often mix Central Nervous System depressants (narcotics) with CNS stimulants (uppers) or with alcohol. That is often fatal. The doctors in MJ's life need to be held responsible.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

@Isabel Brazil,
I agree with you.... I thought Katherine Jackson wanted file take care of her grandchildren instead Diana Ross.

nina   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

don't the children need a guardian ad litem....why did the court not appoint one ?

Ivan   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Hey Anderson and Erica,

I'm glad Joe Jackson gets nothing. Even with the loss of MJ, Joe doesn't have the decency to show any sorrow.

Peggy B   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Lucille Ball is not buried in California. She was but her family moved her to: Lakeview Cemetery in her hometown of Jamestown, NY. You may want to clarify that for your viewers.

John,reading pa   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

It is nice that his mother is might be getting custody of his kids, but did anyone consider the fact that if he was abused by his father that the possibility exists for the same abuse to be repeated again?

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Hi Anderson and Erica

@Jeffery Tobin Why don't they consdier his one of his siblingsa to raise the children?

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I think michael's mom will have the best chance of keeping the children for a good time.

Shannon   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Is the nanny with the children now? Has she been able to see them since MJ died?

Brandon Worthy   July 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

The king of pop is dead. OMG. Im only 12 years old and know all the words to beat it , and of course the hit song thriller. I love you Micheal, R.I.P.

Jacquelinen NY   July 1st, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Evening all!

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:17 pm ET

MJ apparently was a lot smarter than people give
him credit for. Why would any judge overturn the will ?

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Tickets was sold out in five hours. I heard!

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:17 pm ET

i agree withR andi they keep changing thier minds and plans so fast it's hard to keep up with the latest on MJ if it keeps going on like this just give him peace.

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:17 pm ET

So beautiful the CNN's logo, with Anderson and guest on it

Robbie   July 1st, 2009 10:18 pm ET

I doubt Debbie Rowe expected to be remembered in Michael's will. I think she got what she wanted from him years ago. She was his ex-wife. I certainly hope my ex-wife isn't upset when I don't remember her!

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:18 pm ET

They need other kids too to grow up with thier cousins would be great company for Micheal's kids to have a normal childhood.

Sandra Robertson, GA   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Good evening Anderson. I look forward to hearing from Michael Ware tonight.

Regarding Michael Jackson's will, I think he made wise choices. His mother always believed in him and stood by him, as did Diana Ross.

doris quinn   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

do michael's children have the right to voice who they would like to live with? also, what influence does michael's father have on his mother?

Joyce - Los Angeles   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Since there are three executors Branca & Etc. disclosed in his will what happens to the three attornies hired by the family to handle Micheal's matters before the will was made known?

Is it possible that the DEA may have got involved because they know the particular drugs in his system after the autopsy and now it may be a homicide investigation? They, detectives, are holding this close to the vest until all facts are gathered.

hi, everyone. just realized i never submitted my original post...it'd be a little late now!

crazy story of the night: bubbles the chimp

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Someone in the Family might not like what he ended up giving them. Some might want more then thats there. But I hope Michael's mom and the Nanny Stay with the Children for a long time!

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

I can't believe Bubbles is still alive.

Sharon Hastings   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

I hear Bubbles has an attorney now.

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

I think wills can be challenged no matter what they say. We hear about them being broken all the time.

Paula, Colorado   July 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Anderson,
Happy July!
It's probably better that more time is taken to plan for Michael Jackson's memorial and funeral–with all the uncertainty surrounding his death.

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:20 pm ET

The idea of them not having his viewing at Neverland was too crazy for neighbouhood i guess it would have been deja vu like graceland again .

Krasi   July 1st, 2009 10:20 pm ET

I think Michael Jackson was a very shrewd man and his will only proves that. He understood very well that there are many out there who will try to come after he is gone and claim to be whomever and that they have right to anything he ever earned.

I am not going to express what I really feel about those who can't wait to take advantage of such a situation because I am convinced the censors will not let me!

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Bubbles is Still Alive? Wow I thought that He passed Away along time ago LOL WOW!

Diane   July 1st, 2009 10:20 pm ET

AC Diane Hi Anderson: A point to make about this drug they are all talking about that someone may have given MJ. The drug would have had to be adminstered via IV so there should have been evidence of this. IV's are usually placed as you know in wrists or arms so if this occurred then the Coroner(s) should have been able to see evidence of this unless they were blind. I was glad to hear no exposure of him at Neverland he seemed to be a very private person therefore I am sure he would not have approved finally some common sense has prevailed in all this madness and sadness.

Julie   July 1st, 2009 10:20 pm ET

While there are strange things going on with MJ's death, I'm pretty sure there is more news going on that isn't getting reported on given the heavy focus on MJ, his kids, his will, etc. Is the extent of coverage really needed?

CAROLYN J   July 1st, 2009 10:20 pm ET

poor bubbles i remember when micheal said he turned into a teenager and he could'nt control him.....enough already.

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Where is bubbbles the chimp and what beacame of the animals they had at nverland ranch when Micheal was living there?

Mike, Syracuse, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Erica, better Bubbles the Chimp than more MJ.

rose l   July 1st, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Hello anderson, We watch your show all the time. Tonite 7/1 a lady just stated Michel may be burried in a famous people cemetery. She stated Lucy was burried there. To correct your viewers Lucy was burried there HOWEVER SHE IS NOT NOW. Lucy Arnez had her mom Lucy Ball relocated to her home town which is my home town. Jamestown New York. There is a great family plot here. Lucy Arnez comes here often and decorates the grave. We also have daily Tour Busses visit the gravesite, as well as many other places of interest that Lucy and ricky did go to in Jamesdtown ny.
Thank you, Rose L in Jamestown NY

Jolene, St. Joseph, MI   July 1st, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Since wills can change at anytime and many wonder if MJ's 2002 will is the most recent, where should one's most recent will be stored?

Isioma   July 1st, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Mj obviously was unequivocal on who he wants to take custody of his kids in the event on his passing,i bet he didn't want any form of ambiquity cropping up in future, also from what i gather, his will was also airtight, and signing each paragraph? Smart guy,way to go mj!. Isioma..Nigeria.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Hello Erica~ I hope he provided for bubbles the chimp but chimps are wild animals and not good pets. It surely needs to be someone with experience.

Armando,Roswell NM   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

"I hear Bubbles has an attorney now."

Wow if he did what would be something to see. With all the Rumor's and Nonsense going around I wouldn't doubt someone would try that.

Gina   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

I'm surprised Michael did not have a trust set up with a pour over will. Did he have a trust?

Hiwot   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

I love Diana Ross, don't get me wrong...but I wonder why she was selected as the alternate guardian. I'm surprised that he didn't name any of his 7 or so siblings as guardian first after his mother.

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Wills are allways challenged now espeaacially with Micheal and al of the money tha tis a stake people are coming out of the woodwork for handouts

doris quinn   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

do the children have their say on who they would love to live with? everyone keeps saying that the important thing is the welfare of the children yet they will definitely hear and read all the negative comments about their father. yes, michael was his father and let's drop the fact that he was not.

Kevin Roberts   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Its not a surprise there is a will. MJ has shown to be a professional and hiring an expert who knows to appoint independent executors shows the level of consideration given. Any court should know the maneuvers by family and others to be just that.

Michael   July 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

OK, so there is a will and a trust. Were his assets titled in the name of the trust so they would avoid the expense and delay of probate (substantial attorney fees) or is it set up where they will go through probate (and the expenses and delays) THEN to into the trust? A huge difference.
Michael

Karl Maldenwas a great actor. Age 97! Good for him and God Bless him too.

Sybil   July 1st, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Maybe the family called the police back after the family moved stuff out of the house. The medicine could have been hidden in something.

Jacquelinen NY   July 1st, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Couldn't the nurse's call be traced? She gave the date and time of call. I thought "Big Brother" had this kind of technology taken care of.

Aww, I loved Karl Malden. What a great actor he was. So many stars falling from the sky!

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:24 pm ET

I hope Bubbles is well and has a loving, natural home.

Rose from Muscoy, Calif   July 1st, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Hi Anderson

Noboby can't go against MJ wishes because the "Will" was made when Michael Jackson's children where born durning the marriage I mean custody..

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Diana Ross would be a good person to raise the kids she is younger than his mom .

Jen   July 1st, 2009 10:24 pm ET

It is apparent that MJ had some type of issues with prescription meds. It is ironic to me that so many really big stars, the ones who shine the brightest so early in their lives are the ones who burn out way too soon.
God Bless.

Brianna   July 1st, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Hello, Im looking foward to hearing about Michael's will

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:25 pm ET

@ Armando,Roswell NM

As far as I know Bubbles is still alive and living on a ranch in California with an animal trainer. :)

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:25 pm ET

From all I have read, doctors do not just prescribe
sleeping pills. They usually also prescribe an anti-
depressant because of possible side effects.

Colleen M., Duluth, Mn.   July 1st, 2009 10:25 pm ET

It's really scary when a person can hire a physician on retainer. It was apparant that MJ was chemically dependent. He probably needed an extremely strong drug to even sleep due to his tolerance level. After listening to Deepok Chopra and his description of his relationship with Michael and refusal to prescribe mood-altering substances really increased my respect for him and other docs who are not enablers or worse.

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:25 pm ET

So many celebs are dying ti has been a crazy month MJ,Farrah and Karl Malden it's so sad i hope they all rest in peace .

MaryAnn   July 1st, 2009 10:25 pm ET

The Bubbles story coming up should be great. He is at a facility in Florida that is a sanctuary for show-biz orangatans. It's a great place, doing the right thing.

Tammy, Houma, LA   July 1st, 2009 10:26 pm ET

I would think a man who loved his children as much as Michael Jackson did and understood what it was like to grow up as his father's son wouldn't give his kids to his mother if he thought in any way they would be harmed. My guess is he knew they would be completely loved by her and Diana Ross.

Sandra Robertson, GA   July 1st, 2009 10:26 pm ET

Good evening Anderson and Erica. I look forward to seeing Bubbles the chimp. How old is he now?

Kathie   July 1st, 2009 10:26 pm ET

I believe they will find many doctors involved and each did not know what others have prescribed. As in Anna, Heath and many others

skyler   July 1st, 2009 10:26 pm ET

wow, i find it interesting that the nurse who was 'begged' by micheal jackson for the drugs, did not report this to any one. If we find out that he was able to get his hands on the drugs and that they played a part in his death the nurse should be arrested>

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   July 1st, 2009 10:26 pm ET

Debbie Rowe i don't think will come forward she doens't even know the kids not good choice .

Thank you Anderson about finding out about Bubbles I tweeted you the other day asking about him.

Anderson   July 1st, 2009 10:27 pm ET

Hi everyone

Jenya Arts   July 1st, 2009 10:27 pm ET

Anderson, Dr. Murray waited 30 minutes to call 911 as he did not want this dangerous drug detected. Propofol reportedly is fast acting both putting someone to sleep and also enabling them to wake up quickly. Lots of other drugs could have been hidden or removed in a half an hour as well. LE needs to CHECK THE PHONE RECORDS of this doctor and everyone who was at the house from the time Michael LEFT REHEARSAL until the paramedics arrived! It would be interesting to know if others were notified of a problem and if so, WHO those persons were. If other doctors were warned, they'd have ample time to destroy files and tamper with records.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   July 1st, 2009 10:27 pm ET

IV's at home for sleeping? Creep me out!

starr formerly known as vincent   July 1st, 2009 10:28 pm ET

A problem with sleep meds are:

1. Tolerance that causes people to take more.

2. A mixture of sleep meds is somewhat risky-sometimes people forget that they have taken their meds already and take more.

3. For whatever reason, these meds lower your blood pressure and if you take too much and your pressure goes too low you can die.

Kelli Hernandesz   July 1st, 2009 10:28 pm ET

I think all of this is just so sad and tragic............

There aren't words to describe how I'm feeling about this, or how sorry I feel for the life that was cut short, as well as a life filled with pain and abuse.

I hope he is resting in peace. No more pain.

No more.........

anesthesia is pretty much the only thing that keeps a person alive during a surgery, or else the pain can kill the patient....
fun fact for the night...

I just want to say Micheal Jackson was the best that ever done and that will ever do it. I also want to add for all those who say that man is broke, they must be living under a rock, and they are not following his sales throughout his entire career. Better yet what about the sales since his death on 06/25/09......The entire world is mourning....RIP MJ....Love You Forever.......

@Isabel, Michael Jackson has known Diana Ross since he as lead singer for the Jackson Five started out with Motown. He was 10 or 11 then.

I've never seen On the Waterfront all the way through, I have seen A Streetcar Named Desire, though and for some reason was surprised at Karl Malden's forceful performance in that movie.

Joyce - Los Angeles   July 1st, 2009 10:30 pm ET

I strongly believe MJ died of an overdose. The Dr. may have given him some meds but MJ may have taken something orally that the Dr may not have known about earlier since he had trouble sleeping. The combination of medications may have killed him. Please do not throw the book at the Dr. at the house,he was his physician for only two months. This addiction was apparent in the past and until his death. They are looking at other Dr's because something has changed in the investigation after the autopsy. We are missing a lot of facts here! The press conference on the autopsy results will shock all of us I'm sure

jamie   July 1st, 2009 10:31 pm ET

I find it odd that Jackson would call this nurse Cherylynn in a panic over the odd bodily symptoms of hot one side, cold the other....some 3 months after his last contact with her and her alleged denying him the drug he allegedly begged her to get for him. Why, when he was allegedly "good friends" with Dr. Murry, did he allegedly reach out to this nurse, rather than Murry? Something isn't adding up with these stories.

Kim   July 1st, 2009 10:31 pm ET

I don't believe the nurse. She keeps adding to her story!!

Randy Folse, RN   July 1st, 2009 10:31 pm ET

I wrote a paper on Diprivan in 1992 and know of a case of personal use and need for CPR by nurse friend.

This can be taken from the operatin room by qualified users. It is much like other non perscription anesthesia medicines.

Thad Wilkes   July 1st, 2009 10:33 pm ET

How will the drug use and autopsy results affect life insurance? If it is ruled an overdose or accidental overdose, how does that affect payout of any money or the will in general?

Hi Anderson! Great job handling the circus following MJ's death, you are certainly handling this topic with sensitivity and responsibility.

I am very glad to hear the children are with Mrs. Jackson, she and Michael were so very close, she was with him every day of his trial. I certainly pray the children will get to stay with Mrs. Jackson. As a CASA, I feel the welfare of these children should be the most important focus at this time.

Julie, Chicago   July 1st, 2009 10:34 pm ET

This is such a sad story, tragic, and too much "reporting" really cheapens the reality of this sad story. I am glad that Neverland will not be the focus of the memorial to MJ. Lets hope it is done with taste and doesn't turn out to be a circus.

Judith   July 1st, 2009 10:34 pm ET

Bill Clinton had multiple affairs as Governor and President and never resigned. Why should Sanford unless he used public funds to make his trips?

Hi Dina.

Ugh...Sanford...he needs to go already. What a jerk.

I find it highly suspicious the MJ would request a prescription medication from an RN and not an MD. We are aware MJ could have had any MD at his beck and call, why ask an RN, knowing she's know capable to prescribing any meds? I find her story highly suspicious.

sherry   July 1st, 2009 10:35 pm ET

This Gov Sanderson scandal is amazing.

How can you call your lover your "soul-mate" and in the same breath say you're trying to fall in love with your wife again.

It would appear, that since the Gov. can't seem to keep his mouth shut, and that he abandoned his office for 5 days, resignation is probably the best choice for all.

And then a divorce (so he can fly to Columbia and be with his "soul-mate".) Great report by Candy C.

Interesting report on Diprivan. I realize that this sedative is dangerous but then again, isn't any drug that has to be administered through an IV considered dangerous?

Dr. Doug Adriance   July 1st, 2009 10:37 pm ET

"Propofol infusion syndrome" has become a point of concern in any hospitalized setting in which propofol (Diprivan(R)) is infused in patients at a rate of 50 ml/hr or faster. Part of the symptoms of Propofol Infusion Syndrome is hyperkalemia, or too high blood levels of potassium. If the propofol use in MJ is true, I would be curious to see if on autopsy his blood potassium levels were elevated. If so, Propofol abuse could have likely cause MJs death.

Sunny in FL   July 1st, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Gov. Sanford should no more be fired from political office for his extramarrital affairs than one would be forced to divorce a spouse if they discover their political views are polar opposites. Church and State should be separate!

With the celebrity status so big, some doctors might feel intimidated to please the celebrity, that miss judgement can be made. Is it the doctors fault that MJ is dead? This question will hold in our minds, until there is something else that shows otherwise.

Bernie   July 1st, 2009 10:39 pm ET

How can an RN get have asset to this medication? Why would Michael ask an R.N. for the medication when she doesn't have the authority to administer such med's. It has to be in a facility where medical professional are in the event of an emergency.
Her story lacks credibility and MJ isn't here to defend himself.

Mike, Syracuse, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Erica, at least Mrs. Stanford didn't stand next to him at the press conference looking like a zombie ala Mrs. Spitzer. Score big points for self respect.

Re; Michael Jackson; Dr. Gupta explained that the Diprivol places the person in a coma.
Just thinking; Michael Jackson was first reported to be in a coma when he arrived at the hospital.
I am happy about his will, especially the care of the children.

Re; Govenor Sanford: He is suffering from a mid-life crisis and a broken heart.
I think if he doesn't resign, he should take a mental leave from his job and get counseling and stop with the public announcements about his emotions.
Once he says these things public, they are on the record forever.

I so agree with you that this nurse should have gone to police rather than the media with what she knew with her story! Makes one a little suspicious and no one seems to have asked her yet WHY she didn't go to police with this story. It's only been asked if she had been contacted by authorities. I'd love to hear her answer to the question of why media first and not investigating authorities.

I personally find her beliveable and do not understand why no one else has thought of this. Thank You

Vickie   July 1st, 2009 10:44 pm ET

Good question! I thought the same thing when Sanjay said it disappeared from the system relatively quickly. That could explain the 30 minute or so delay in initially calling 911.

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:44 pm ET

Instead of spending all the money on soldiers in Afghanistan, the US should take that money and put it into the DEVELOPMENT of this country. The taliban will not stand a chance if Afghanistan's ppl can feed themselves! Poverty and hopelessness drive ppl to extremism. I don't understand the Commander who ordered this maneuver. A guerilla war cannot be won with a regular army. Armies have rules, guerillas don't.

He did not name his father in his will as was expected by his fans.

Given her age, I would think one of his siblings, would have been appointed guardian. And the fact he thought he would die before his mother. Sad, Sad, Sad...

LisaL - Canada   July 1st, 2009 10:46 pm ET

when people fall out of love there is usually a reason. and i don't think it just turns itself around. sanford's life is headed in a new direction now.

Nancy in Oregon   July 1st, 2009 10:47 pm ET

And of course, MJ himself bears some personal responsibility for his situation.

Jasmine   July 1st, 2009 10:47 pm ET

I don't even want to imagine what's going on in Iran's jails right now...Sadly it might even be worse than the milder cases in GITMO....and this is against innocent people!
They should not have to be forced to say anything...

Krasi   July 1st, 2009 10:47 pm ET

Move from one country to another. Hope they are all safe and hope there is a point to it all...

DawnMD   July 1st, 2009 10:47 pm ET

Another thought just ocurred to me regarding Michael Jackson's emergency; if the Dr was responsible, the use of Diprivol could be the reason for the Dr's delay in calling 911; he wanted the evidence to wear off.

I am glad the DEA is involved; I am sure the Dr's office has been searched.

I should be an investigator :)

Tammy, Houma, LA   July 1st, 2009 10:48 pm ET

I agree. Definitely keep those soldiers and their families and friends in prayer. And yeah, my childhood friend died so those Iraqis could be free. He believed in his mission. So even if they never say thanks, his belief was enough.

Shanny   July 1st, 2009 10:48 pm ET

I wonder if the Iranian population buys this line of intimidation anymore- the idea that the CIA and foreign media are responsible for the unrest. I think they're onto it. I think they know that's a big lie.

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:48 pm ET

Are there any reporters with the US military.
Thanks for the international news. It is an
amazing story about the plane crash survivor.

Pat Mueller   July 1st, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Anderson and Erica you guys are the best and i see alot of people feel the same way .I love to watch your show and CNN wonderful coverage you people give absolutely the BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Justin T.   July 1st, 2009 10:49 pm ET

On the story about Iraqis celebrating the American withdrawal– Why are we upset that they're happy to be a sovereign country. They don't have to thank us for not occupying them. Ask yourself- how would Americans react if their positions were switched?

Jen, Albany NY   July 1st, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Gov Standford, makes me sick. If he can't be faithful to his own wife and family, how can the people of his state trust him. He needs to step down already. Saying that his mistress is his "soul mate" and that he has to try to fall back in love with his wife.... that is just too much... Give me a break, poor him, right! I am glad his wife is being tough and not standing by his side. What is wrong with him. Geez. He makes my skin crawl! Ick!

Colleen M., Duluth, Mn.   July 1st, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Thank You Michael Ware. You're reports are always so insightful.

Sheryl   July 1st, 2009 10:49 pm ET

I see the Iraqui's celebrating their freedom from terror more than our withdrawl.

Jacquelinen NY   July 1st, 2009 10:50 pm ET

@Vickie

Thank you. It just seems strange and at the same time, it seems the pieces are coming together. But what do I know?

Denise   July 1st, 2009 10:50 pm ET

I want to know why the nurse is talking to the media and not the police? Isn't she giving confidential information? The police aren't interested for a reason. Rest in Peace, Michael. My sympathy goes out to the family in their loss.

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:50 pm ET

Bubbles, Michael Jackson’s Famous Chimp :)

Shannon   July 1st, 2009 10:50 pm ET

@ Bernie...

I thought that as well about his siblings. But after doing some reading about most of them, seems they are just as troubled as he was. Not a lot of normal in that family, it seems.

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:50 pm ET

I bet the journalist was threatened, intimidated and maybe even beaten and tortured to make such a statement. I hope CNN will continue to follow this story and please start reporting on all the detained protesters!

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Jackson had to move Bubbles out of his house in fear the chimp might hurt his children

Gady Mayen from Canada   July 1st, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Awww, bubbles is older than me! Now that's sad!!!

Dina   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

I want to know if a doctor did give him the drug Diprivan would he be chagered with his death?

Sandy Jones from Paris,Tx   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

If this nurse is telling the truth then why can't they check the phone records to see if there was an actual call made

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Bubbles was so small ... now is enormous!

Sumera - Johns Hopkins, Maryland   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Anderson, Hello
Would you please ask Dr. Sanjay Gupta to comment on this;
Who was Michael Jackson Primary Care Physician (PCP). He/she had prescribed him any narcotics? and why Michael was not refer to a proper pain Management clinic?

Being working in Healthcare field I know that prescribing Narcotics is not a celebrity issue. This is a global issue.

Krasi   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Wow! Who would have thought Bubbles would outlive MJ!

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Bubbles is thought of as an almost-human companion. A chimp pet can be exotic, but it is not reprehensible.

An almost-human companions, often are the best!
They don't disappoint us, hurt us or mistreat us!

Minou, New York City   July 1st, 2009 10:52 pm ET

I feel sorry for Bubbles.

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:53 pm ET

It was great that Bubbles has a nice retirement.

Jolene, St. Joseph, MI   July 1st, 2009 10:53 pm ET

Loved the report on Bubbles! It's great he's still alive and doing well. Doesn't have a lot of gray hair either! :) Thanks for the update.

LisaL - Canada   July 1st, 2009 10:53 pm ET

moonwalking and bubbles in the same sentence - too much!

Andreia La Motte (Long Beach-CA)   July 1st, 2009 10:53 pm ET

God knows our time here. That is why the 13 year old girl survived the plane accident. She has a mission here.

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:53 pm ET

Some has dogs, cats ... Michael had Bubbles ... ;)

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:54 pm ET

It is not a good idea to cut spending on aircraft maintenance.

Sandra Robertson, GA   July 1st, 2009 10:54 pm ET

Bubbles is beautiful. So he retired to Florida, like many elderly folks.

Carlos turner   July 1st, 2009 10:54 pm ET

Michelle   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

Nice mix of stories tonight. Thanks for a great show.

Jolene, St. Joseph, MI   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

OK, next trip to Chicago, I'm going to the Sears Tower. Those glass boxes look cool!

Lisa Slate, Nashville TN   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

Anderson – I'm with you, I hate heights, I would not go out on that glass box thing on the Sears tower!

Mari. MA   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

Thank you for the report of MJ! I'm still dumbfounded.

amy   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

lol i think it's funny how Anderson hates heights, but they make him stand on the roof of CNN.

Tammy, Houma, LA   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

Chimps are highly intelligent. No shocker Bubbles remembers MJ.

Casey Jones, Palm Springs, CA   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

@Erica...Try walking the Royal Gorge in southern Colorado (wooden and rope bridge). You can drive across it, too! Creepy...

Vanessa Ambrocio   July 1st, 2009 10:55 pm ET

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio: Sad, but true!

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:56 pm ET

@ Anderson
Do you do not feel afraid of the anchoring the show of this platform in the roof?

Marty Solis   July 1st, 2009 10:56 pm ET

Hello how many people feel that Joe Jackson is still benefiting from Michael even in death, it seems the=at Mr. Jackson has used his media time as a way of promoting himself.

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   July 1st, 2009 10:57 pm ET

Have a good night everyone!

starr formerly known as vincent   July 1st, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Thank you Anderson, Erica & Team360 (and reporters) for a diversified show this evening & good night too.

Good night fellow bloggers.

Our thoughts & prayers are with so many tonight, however, as Michael Ware suggested, we have stopped to think of our soldiers lost in Iran and pray for our soldiers in Afganistan.

The Shot: Really great!

Rose from Muscoy, Calif   July 1st, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Night Anderson and Erica

Let's not forget to respect the Jackson family in their time of sorrow. Take care and God bless.

Melissa, Ontario Canada   July 1st, 2009 10:58 pm ET

I am in agreement with Betty Ann of TX, MJ is a person like the rest of us why must people parade around and make a huge ordeal of his death let him go in peace and let his family mourne thier loss. He was an icon and legend I understand that but mourne in private as the family is wanting to. God Bless his family and friends and may they find the peace they need to get through his difficult time.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   July 1st, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Wow!!! Teenager is so safe, lucky to be alive from plane crash into ocean!!! What a day for her!

Anderson,
Have a great night, good sleep at home after work!!!! See you tomorrow night!!! Have a plenty sleep! :D

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:59 pm ET

Does the reporter should not continue to be serious? :)

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 10:59 pm ET

Very funny............ :)

David, Indiana   July 1st, 2009 10:59 pm ET

I'm sure the Afghans and the Iraqis are thankful for the presence of US troops. For the Afghans, I'm sure life light years better than under the Taliban, same for people in Iraq, way way better than under Saddam Hussein, but civilians in Afghanistan have suffered incredibly, and Iraq has know grievous strife. Thank God the stick an stay strategy that Michael Ware mentioned seems to be working. Are the 2million internally displaced people in Iraq on their way home?

The story of the young girl on the Yemeni flight is amazing, incredible determination to hold on for 13 hours in the ocean.

Good night Isabel, good night everyone

Taylor   July 1st, 2009 10:59 pm ET

lmao, I'd pay to see Erica throw a punch at someone.

Isabel, Brazil   July 1st, 2009 11:00 pm ET

Good night Anderson
Good nigh David (Indiana)

Good night everyone!

See you tomorrow.... good rest!

Tammy, Houma, LA   July 1st, 2009 11:00 pm ET

Use words and not fists. They must have missed that lesson in pre-k. Good night all.

pinksalpicao   July 2nd, 2009 6:33 am ET

it's like we never learn. doctors administering drugs like propofol and the like should realize the further consequences of just merely giving in to their client's request.

MJ will be missed but let us not forget the mem'ries he has left behind-his music and more importantly, his love and passion for helping out those in need. A TRUE HUMANITARIAN.

niloo arbab   July 2nd, 2009 7:20 am ET

Why r u guys trying to ignore Iran, there is no news other than MJ death in the world, beacause in the other part of the world in Iran people are still being beated and killed,is that really "the world is watching".

No I don't think so, I think Iran purposely being ignored

Dolly Russell   July 2nd, 2009 7:43 am ET

Hello

First off, I love CNN ; the usual abundance of information, both domestic and foriegn is inspiring. I have played at the radio game (just volunteer) but still at least on the sidelines !! I know that you need to keep up with fresh ideas and with the world as it is today with the internet and cell phones that will drive home for you if... well I digress , I know it is important to keep your audience listening. I have been tuned every morning for years now ; I look forward to my first coffee and a catch up !! Well this is the other shoe ; as an Elvis fan I do understand what it is to lose someone you love but never met, difficult to explain, I was 10 when we lost him and even then I knew the world had changed, yet the coverage that you are affording Michael Jackson honestly US is taking a more direct approach in Afganastan, which is frightening , yet I feel necessary. North Korea is warming up for "God knows what", and how are things in Iran ? And the mass exodus of the people running for their lives in Pakistan , whats going on their ! Oh and then there is that pesky little problem in Africa ! Guys ; I wish Mr Jacksons' family and friends and fans my sympathies . I hope the his poor tortured soul is now at peace !! Now it is time to get back to the news , I am sorry but I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. Get back to what you do best, showing us the world through your eyes and it is much larger than L.A. It is difficult to care about watching a man stroll through a store and buy enough stuff to feed all the children in Africa.

Dolly Russell   July 2nd, 2009 8:33 am ET

Hello, not sure if my last message was recieved.
So ... here goes.
I love CNN and Anderson Cooper !! I have been watching CNN for 8 now and love that I can catch up on what is happening all over the world.
I am a proud Canadian, yet I am even more proud of being an "earthling". With the world so connected today we are more symbiotic than ever. So here is the other shoe; I am an Elvis fan and when we lost him I was only 10 years old but knew in my heart that the world would never be the same!! I understand the interest and most of this is sick curiosity unfortunately, but I and I am sure others are actually reaching for the remote as you cannot seem to go more than 10 minutes without hearing about it. It is similiar to showing 911 over and over again, we become conditioned and it means nothing more than something on tv and not quite real. I feel it is time to move on, to be honest it is hard to see a man shop like he did when those purchases would nicely feed many children in Darfur (whats up there lately anyway). What is happening to the people running for their lives in Pakistan and don't even get me going about Afganastan. As a proud Canadian, for the last 5 years or so I have seen over 110 Canadian Soldiers being brought home via the " Highway of Heroes " ( a stretch of the 401 that has been dubbed so due to the route of repatriation.) I think it is time to get back to what is happening all over the world, I for one would like to keep my eye on North Korea and whatever crazy stuff they have planned and what is happening in Iran. I tune into Anderson Cooper and Tony Harris and all the rest to get a world view and I know it is bigger than L.A and Neverland. Leave it in the hands of the family, friends and fans now. Entertainment tonight can catch the rest. CNN is bigger than this!!!
