Tonight on 360°, Michael Jackson's former nurse is speaking out. Hear why she says Jackson "desperately" wanted a heavy sedative to help him sleep. She says just four days before Jackson died, one of his aides placed a desperate call to her, indicating Jackson was extremely ill. She's sharing her side of the story tonight on 360°.

Hi, Anderson!
Good to see you in LA!

Evening, 360 team, David (Indiana) and friends!

Lyvonne   June 30th, 2009 10:00 pm ET

These people a going to keep "crawling" out the floor with all of this "crap". It is interesting that these people saw all of this "stuff" and did not alert a higher law authority about it. Oh, I forgot, the "money train "was flowing. The African American community is just sitting and waiting to see the media "cut and dry" of MJ. In the final analysis, MJ's work will last forever!

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:00 pm ET

Evening Everyone! "As the week marchs on!"

Tammy, Houma, LA   June 30th, 2009 10:00 pm ET

Hi everyone,

This story about Michael Jackson gets sadder and sadder...

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   June 30th, 2009 10:01 pm ET

Helloooo Anderson, Erica, Edurrado(Ed Henry) David Gergen and my friends Twitter/Facebook Bloggers!!!!!
I can't wait what nurse to say her side story.

Haley James   June 30th, 2009 10:01 pm ET

With all these people coming forward it is hard to know who to believe...

Kristen, MD   June 30th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Hey Anderson and bloggers.

Heather - Spokane, WA   June 30th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Everyone is coming out of the woodwork now...........

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

What mixture of drugs ... poor Michael

Lance Gayhart   June 30th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

The nurse received a call from Michael Jackson 3 MONTHS? or 5 DAYS before his death??? She told Larry King explicitly (twice!) that this occured 3 months ago.

She told Anderson and Campbell Brown this conversation about the I.V. drug took place 5 days before his death.

An   June 30th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Hi Anderson.

Hi bloggers.

It is going to be a hard completed live show tonight.

Judy from Little Rock, AR   June 30th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Medical Privacy rules are bein violated to serve public interest. Not okay, strict rules not bein followed about medical MJacksons information. Is no one aware?

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Hi Anderson

Why now, this nurse is saying these things?

Jasmine   June 30th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Hey bloggers....

starr formerly known as vincent   June 30th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Hello Anderson, Erica & Team 360.

Hello fellow bloggers.

It's true, the Michael Jackson story just seems to get worse everyday. It's very tragic, all of it.

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

I always ask myself if there is a need to take drugs together, which will be the effect of them inside the body!

New Orleans, La.   June 30th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

How did Michael know that he could take this intravenously and
that all he needed was for someone to watch over him while he slept?
Which doctor gave him all this knowledge about this
particular medication?

mara   June 30th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

YES Anderson make her answer the damn question!!!!

Fran   June 30th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

This dipravan issue is way out. This nurse sounds a little confused about the medication and how it is used and it's use. Just too many stories, let MJ rest in peace, Nothing is going to change what has happened.

Haley James   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

That's why I love watching you Anderson...only you would be quick enough to ask why he would contact her after a 3 month gap...

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Don't you think if things were so bad, did anyone help? And who was the doctor who give him this medication?

Krystal O   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

This new information from nurse Cherilyn Lee is quite disturbing when taking into consideration that Dr.Murray was asked to stay at Michael's house. I remember her saying that Michael wanted to take the drug and be monitored while on the drug.

eleanor coombs, ga.   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Hello everyone, just in time to hear Cherilyn Lee making excuaes. Anderson is alert as usual. ...just love his candid ways.

Tiffany   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

I am a health professional and this So Called NURSE in the Michael Jackson case is in violation of the U.S. HIIPA ACT! I'm sorry, She is slime who is trying to have her 15 mins of FAME!

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Ms. Lee sounds truthful. Even if she gave Jackson's handlers advice, it doesn't mean they followed up with it.

Rachel   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Hey Anderson, do you that Cherilyn Lee is telling the truth?

Cynthia, NC   June 30th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Good evening, all.

Why does this nurse come out now to tell her story? And why hasn't she spoken with the police?

Frances   June 30th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

Wow....diprivan when given in higher doses with stop a patient from breathing, not to mention slowing the heart. WHY would anyone in their right mind give him that? So very sad.

Kristen, MD   June 30th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

Dr. Sanja you are the best. Thanks for breaking it down :)

Maureen, Georgia   June 30th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

Why would she not notify the authority about what she knows about MJ? but she tells the media.

Mike, Syracuse, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

I believe the nurse. She has nothing to gain by speaking out.

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

I wish someone would ask Sanjay if Michael's weight could have been a factor in how these drugs affected his body.

Heather - Spokane, WA   June 30th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

Something really strange is going on. First the private doctor now this nurse........No wonder the family asked for a second autopsy

andy   June 30th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

Anderson, Could he have died from anorexia like Karen Carpenter did? And what about the article by Ian Halperin on the huffington post. It seemed to make sense.
This is so sad.

sharon, sydney, ns   June 30th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

I don't get why the nurse didn't go to the authorities with this right after he died. Why talk to the press first. If she didn't go them, I hope they go to her. I hope they talk to the person she says called her for help. The person she's not willing to give up publicly. I'm not going to call her a liar, but as a nurse she should know better shouldn't she?

angela   June 30th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Why report this info from this nurse if it has not be independently confirmed? It seems like unnecessary fueling of this fire. This woman did not sound credible to me - a mere layperson!

Anthonia-California   June 30th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Heey Everybody :]

The information about the medicine "killing" Michael is really helpful, because we can use this evidence to help prevent future deaths.

Jasmine   June 30th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

this story sounds more like a conspiracy theory

David, Indiana   June 30th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Evening Anderson, Erica, Isabel, everyone. Lots of questions about medications, and Michael Jackson's health, any possible illnesses he was being treated for.

Tammy, Houma, LA   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

This is just too weird. What I can't believe is that a practicing medical professional didn't report this to anyone. Legally, there is a duty to report if a person is in danger. Asking for an IV sedative sends off red flags for me. I'd be calling the police at a minimum.

Roe   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

The nurse story has changed from what she told Larry King. She stated that she asked a doctor friend of her's about the drug he wanted, not refer to her PRN book. Something is strange about her.

Larry   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Has there been a decision on a date for the coroner's inquiry?

Pierce   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

If Michael Jackson really had Lupus, then all of this speculation is medical ignorance. Lupus patients "look" like drug addicts and drug seekers because we are in constant inexorable pain.

Candace Gambino   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

This alleged nurse is enraging me!!!!!!! Diprovan is used for conscious sedation and is short acting. She's looking for her 15 minutes of fame and is trying to make a quick buck. I'm an ER nurse and am completely livid right now. This woman is giving nurses a bad name. Not even sure is she is a nurse. She calls herself a nutritionist as well. CNN do not give her the time of day.

Renee   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Who is going to pay for all of the police protection for the funeral on Friday? The taxpayers of Cali can not afford all of this!

Frances   June 30th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Anderson, could you please ask this nurse why she did not know what Diprivan/Propofol is? It is one of the most commonly used drug in any surgery department. How could she not know this?

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Also, when someone is as thin as Michael was doesn't the body start using muscle to sustain itself and isn't the heart a muscle?

New Orleans, La.   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

If this drug was found through autopsy,
LAPD must find out who was enabling him
with this intravenous medication.
Hence, the many needle marks on his body.
I doubt that Michael knew how to start his own
I.V. What doctor is the enabler?
MALPRACTICE to say the least!

Jacqueline, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Dear God! How terribly sad that this death really could have been prevented. If this Dr. killed him, even accidentally, to me it's just another black on black crime– and for what? Money!

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Nobody's answering things question? They are saying that he was using but nobody is saying anything. If this does go to court, don't you think that all things in the house will be questioned? Because everybody have been in and out?

Gayle McCauley Malden,Mass.   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Greetings to All! Thank you for all this coverage.I appreciate it tremendously! The internet is filled with lots of rumors and gossip.I'm interested in the facts surrounding MJ's life and death. He was only 2 years older than I am.I grew up with his music.Always loved him, always will. : (

Nance B, Darien, CT   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

No one should be discussing who is and who is not the biological child of Jackson in the news. The children deserve better treatment by news agencies. Mother Jackson or Debbie Rowe should step forward and put a gag order on this issue. Sorry to those hungry to find out more and more on this issue.

starr formerly known as vincent   June 30th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Anderson, excellent point about chain of custody.(ex: were the meds there when MJ was found, or were they brought in over the weekend for some unknown, but not impossible reason.)

Great reporting by Drew.

And, Sanjay, as always is great.

Rob Nicholas, M.D.   June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

This is the correct spelling: Diprivan, not Deprivan.

Maureen, Georgia   June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

@ Tiffany, I agree with you she wants her 15mins of fame & break Hippa Laws. She should lose her license.

Erica Hill
CNN
  June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

hello, everyone. the details get more surprising by the day...a new day, new questions

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

@ Dr. Gupta

Thanks! Your explanations are always great!
Today you're very elegant!

Sabrina In Las Vegas   June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

I keep seeing a picture of Michael with his right hand holding his jacket down or closed while he waves with the left hand.

I bring this up because the right hand looks gray and pale while the left hand looks rosy...doesn't that imply a circulation issue?

Renee   June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

Okay, I missed LKL but what was Jackson ILL about? Sorry I missed some of this.

Kathleen   June 30th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

The Nurse that was just on taking about a drug MJ requested sounds like she islying!
She isn't worth the air time no body called her, last sunday about MJ's health .

irina   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Does anyone know if Michael woke up Thursday Morning at all? What made Dr. Comrad walk into Michael's room that afternoon? What time did Michael go to sleep the night before? What was the last thing Michael said to his kids?

Cheryl   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

How long does propaphol (depraphan) stay in the system once the drip is stopped? Is it possible that the Dr. was trying to stall calling 911 to give it time to metabolize and get out of Michael's system and that's the reason for the 30 minutes before the ambulance came?

David, Indiana   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

@Isabel, yep, drug combinations can be disasterous. Good to read the patient info.

I havent' been to a Michael Jackson concert, from the video of the rehearsals looks like a hell of a show.

Elsa   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

The nurse sounds shady, I don't like it. She's just trying to ride the Jackson hype and add her two sense in for a bit of fame. No one can ever believe everything concerning Michael Jackson because people are always trying to get a piece of him. Rest in paradise Michael, teach the angels how to moonwalk.

Dee   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

All the people coming out of the woodwork...where were they when Mike was alive?..Toomany folks looking to get Paid or so they think.

Emalee   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

why are all these people coming out of the woodwork now. Why has this so called nurse not stepped forward and said something to officials last week, when this first happened?

James Elton, MD   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Diprivan (note correct sp) should never have been given to Jackson in that setting. It would certainly would put him to sleep, but must be given continuously via an IV. It is not for use by people not familiar with emergency airway management. At my hospital, it can only be administered by anesthesia providers. It also is rather expensive.

Paula, Colorado   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Anderson,
Hi! It's great to see you in Los Angeles.
I hope the final medical results will provide the answers needed in Michael Jackson's death. It seems there will be a long time-span of speculation until then. –He is, though, well deserving of the media attention since his death.

Sandra Robertson, GA   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Good evening Anderson. I am surprised a nurse would go public with patient information. Do HIPAA laws not apply to the health information of Michael Jackson? I will make sure she never becomes my nurse.

Chris   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

The Nurse speaking out on the Jackson case may not be the most reliable person. Case and point she is breaking Federal Laws that protect a patients medical record from being given to the public with out consent from the patient. She obviously is speaking out for her 15 minutes, rather than for the good of her patient.

Toni   June 30th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

such a sad, sad story. The guy had a rough life

Thad Wilkes   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Hate to back track but still have concerns about the doctor on duty. If there was no phone in the room for the doc to call out, was the security guy calling from his cell phone? You can here the doctor and he is clearly in the bedroom with Jackson.

LaToya   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

I am curious as to whether or not Cherilyn Lee is a creditable voice. I am often worried about her comments on one end she claims to be MJ's nurse, then his nutritionist. Why would she be someone to listen too?!!!

John Yetimoore, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Anderson,
If the nurse story is not confirmed, then why are you reporting itg?
What if she is a lier?
Are we spreading her lie?

DM   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

I am a pharmacist, and don't know anyone who would in their right minds give an outpatient propofol!!!!!!!! It's for ANESTHESIA! it's used to put you OUT! (for a procedure).

Never in a million years would this be used for sleeping. who would allow this to be dispensed for this purpose.

The nurse means nothing. What needs to be found out is WHO prescrbed PROPOFOL????? Dr. Gupta said it right... it's only for use IN A HOSPITAL.

poor michael...

Ariana   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

I do not believe in heresay, especially in this topic. Michael is dead and he cannot defend himself. There are always three sides to every story. I love you, Michael. You will be greatly missed.

Richard Swalin   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

poor michael, we will love and miss you. god please dont let drugs be the reason!!!

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Even in our beloved Michael Jackson's death, we see how bizarre this poor talented genius was torturted as a child and as an adult.
MJ's tragic life and death will be the biggest bummer of the summer~

jean golden   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Question for Anderson to ask :

Given the short acting nature of Diproven, how long would the drug have remained in his system? Long enough to be found in blood or urine taken after his death? What is the half life of this drug?

jody   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

who was the man on the phone making the 911 call?

saman   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

if the nurse and the doctor knew that he was sick then y was he not taken 2 the hospital?

y did the doctor take so long to call 911...he called security but not 911..it does not make sense...

Mike, Syracuse, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

What are the odds that we ever get the true story of MJ's drug use, and what state he was in when he died? There's a lot of conflicting stories out there, and the press isn't checking anything out before blasting it all over.

Terri from Maui   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

I don't get it...who was watching out for Michael ?

Nicole, North Carolina   June 30th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Even if the nurse is telling the truth, she should have spoken with the authorities and the Jackson family before going straight to the PRESS. That is disrespectful to his family!!

ron   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I find it odd that a doctor would incorrectly perform cpr and wait 30 minutes to call. And now a nurse comes on to say that she ignored his requests for help. Did either one notice he may have a drug problem?

Angie   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I can't believe what i hear about the story the nurse says about michael .. its so sad

eleanor coombs, ga.   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Mom is too old to keep her grands without the help of a hired Nannie. And how in the world can any child live with crazy Joe . He needs his own penthouse far away so he can concentrate on all of Michael's holdings.

Steve   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

The "family" attorneys are a joke. The family hired a legion of attorneys for the betterment of their own cause., ie the family's pocketbooks

Aleshia   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

There are so many conflicting stories...hard to know what to believe.

Denise   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

All these revelations are going to be difficult to watch – but I can't turn away. It's like rubber necking at a traffic accident. Awful to watch too riveting to turn away. God Bless the Jackson family and may MJ RIP.

starr formerly known as vincent   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Jo Ann – Ohio

Yes. weight is a factor regarding the strenght of any drug (ex: pediatric doses versus adult doses). So if MJ really weighed only 112lbs, large doses of meds could overwhelm his system.

april   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

i think michael know the drug was going to give him problems but he wanted rest and i will always remember him and his music my prays goes to his family

Gerald Johnson   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

She said she first met Michael 3 months ago and he asked about "Diprivan" and she looked it up and told him it's a dangerous drug and he shouldn't be taking it. Just 5 days before his death Michael's enteroughe called her and Michael was complaining of symptoms and wanter her to come. She advised him to go to the hospital. But he didn't.

Anthonia-California   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I agree, people should focus on Michael's legacy, not his personal life.

Teresa   June 30th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I dont get it, if he had complained about being in any sort of pain or didnt feel right why wasnt anyone taking care of the problem. I mean he had the doctor living with him so this kind of thing wouldnt happened to him. I just keep hearing this and more people are getting involved in this and it hurts me so bad, he didnt derserve this.

Liz W>   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

What the nurse is saying makes sense to me now. As a former ICU?CCU nurse this would be used to induce anesthesia, to sedate intubated intensive care unit patients. it is available in 10mg/ml in 20ml ampules; 50ml prefilled syringes; 50ml and 100ml infusion vials. Patients have to be monitored closely and these drugs are only available in the hospital pharmacy. It is used mostly on cardiac patients. Do you see where the cardiologist comes in. That is right. Diprivan is usually prescribed by a cardiologist. I still am very suspicious of the Doctor.

Gail   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I don't buy the Nurse's story. I don't even believe she is an RN. I think she's looking for her 15 minutes of fame.

Gail.

Cindy   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Why would a RN be hired as a nutritionist, Wouldnt he be interested in hiring a RD (Registered Dietition)? I believe the nurse's comments are bogus!

belinda   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

i think everyone is assuming at this time and the real story will be when the autopsy is released its to late to comment on anything.

Katrina   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I am not a huge fan, but believe in the truth!

James   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Who is this nurse and why didn't she come out before now, if what she say's is true, she is right about one thing and that is, Micheal was a loving person.

jay schlecht   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

i think that the stories i been hearing about michael jackson are completey un true or fake but who knows are some might be real but i thonk that nurse is telling the truth about michael jackson and i think the press should let the man rest in peace and leave this whole drug thing alone really and focus on the good not the bad in michael jackson from jay

Bob   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I think that MJ died from Serotonin Syndrome, just like Anna Nichol Smith and her son. I bet that his toxicolgy report will state that he had Zoloft, Ambien, and Demerol in his blood system at the time of his death.

chaoticangel   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Do you think that Michael's father knew he was not in the Will and that's why he hurried to get his record label name which he couldnt even remember or pronounce out to the public. Maybe he thought he could get some of Michael's music on it before people realized he wasnt in the will. He seems like he is on something, never mind poor MIchael. That Dad is terrible, ruthless. Rest in peace Michael.

gloria martinez   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I think that nurse Cherilyn Lee is lying. She has not seen or spoken to Michael in three months, and out of the blue she gets a call from michael asking for her help. Her story just does not add up. I think she is seeking fame at Michael's expense

Tim   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I don't think anyone forgets the legacy MJ has left. The media coverage is important to people, who have been tragically affected. Thank you Anderson for sharing our needs for coverage on the surrounding matters.

Jolene, St. Joseph, MI   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

That Nurse interview was alarming. Not sure why MJ's people would be contacting a nurse to administer a drug. Wouldn't they need a doctor to issue an order first?

Julie   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I wouldn't give any more air time to people until their stories can be verified! Everyone wants their 5 minutes of fame.....

Roxanne Layne   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

No one knows what happened to Michael Joseph Jackson but him and God. I am a firm believer that our body is a Temple of Christ. When we "choose" our "own" way of living, we will have to deal with the consequences. I am devasted. I grew up with his music in Guyana.

I pray and ask God's continuous guildance on Michael and his family. May God's light shine on them in this time of sorrow.

Donna Manning   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Would the medicine the nurse talked about tonight that is used in hospitals show up in Michael's system in the autopsy? Listening to the 911 call the morning of MIchael's death and the guy said Michael was in bed getting CPR, instead of on a hard surface, maybe this doctor that was with MIchael gave him the lethal med in bed, which would be maybe why he was still in bed trying to revive him.

Dulcie - Denver   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Holy geez, MJ had more doctors and nurses than Mayo Clinic.

I do kind of wonder how many of them really have any knowledge. They might have been associated with MJ at some point, but it very well might not be germain now.

Elsa   June 30th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Someone please, remember the mother who lost her son and the kids who lost the best father that ever lived. This is not the time to be speculating about a he-said she-said drug addiction that may or may not have been present.

Mistala   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

MJ was a grown man. If he wanted to get drugs, he could. We can't wish anyone off drugs, they have to want to be off really bad. Sounds like he depended on them too much to wake up, to sleep, to feel good, to not hurt...

JoAnne   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

I'm with some of the others & their comments about HIPPA. Isn't this nurse violating the privacty act?

Corrina   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

This is so sad . . . i still can't get over the fact that he's gone!!

Tiffany   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

We need to focus on celebrating MJ's life. He is gone...let it go...let it go...

Fred   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Is there a reason this nurse was allowed to make her comments with no fact checking. I'm not an MJ fan but her comments feed the rumor mill.

Bernie B   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Jackson's lawyer is correct. You cannot just give a microphone over to a woman who's story does not line up. We can do better than that.

Dianne   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

I am so glad that Michael Jackson did not leave anything to Joe Jackson.I feel that Michael would have been a different man if his father was not involved in his life. Now let the man have some dignity in death that he had when he was alive.

Teresa   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

All of Michael Jackson's privacy is being riped away in death. All day long you hear all these very private aspects of his life. We should just let him rest in peace.

His family and children deserve to have their memories and not have his whole life dissected for media consumption.

First-time blogger   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

This is like a real live soap opera. Like "who shot JR?" You'll probably see Jackson withdrawals. Unbelievable. I would like to see the human side. Michael-the father...

Jasmine   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

sadly it is not surprising to see such a talented person of tormented lives...Look at musicians like Mozart. when he died he didn't even have a marked grave... such a sad thing...

grey   June 30th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

seems like everyone is striving for their 5 minutes of fame instead of just telling what really happened...

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Sounds like this guy wants Anderson to cover up any negative things about Michael and the Jackson family.

Is he reprimanding Anderson? It sounds he is trying to instruct Anderson on what he does and doesn't want him to report.

Who does he think he is?

Sandy   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Maybe this nurse's story is the reason Michael Jackson asked Dr. Murray to spend the night at his house-because he wanted it to sleep, and wanted Murray to monitor him. The whole Dr's story about the aftermath of his death doesn't add up – this family lawyer that is talking on your show doesn't seem to care about what happened and the fact that Michael Jackson was at least the victim of negligence on behalf of his personal physician. It is ridiculous that this is not being handled as a criminal investigation. Anderson-stick with it! Don't be intimidated into letting this go.

jennell   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

This is sounding very weird. Y did they called that nurse after 3 months

saman   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

how did the doctor know that micheal was not breathing????
did he just happend to go 2 his room?? for no reason??

im sure if the doctor had done everything that he was suppose 2 then micheal would be alive today....giving CPR to someone when they are still in bed???

how are his kids? when was the last time micheal spoke with them and what was his last words to them??

Carol Ghesquiere   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

The nurse who claims Michael begged her for sleeping medication. Doesn't she know about the HIPA laws that prevent her from talking about private medical information about her patients? Also, why hasn't she contacted police, Michael's family, attorney's, etc., but instead contacts a TV show? Also, she claims Michael was in serious shape 5 days before his death, yet there are claims that he was alert and healthy during reherals. Her claims are very suspicious.

Jean Clemenz   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

thanks to all of you health care professionals for your insight.. hard to know WHAT to believe...

Jasmine from LA   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

The medication is spelled diprivan and it can be addictive, infact reports of people who have self adminisetered this drug and overdosed and in some cases have died

Felicia Harrell   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

IF the nurse's story is true. Then they called her becasue they expected her to give them drugs because she has done it before for someone he knows. Last I check nurse's can't prescribe drugs legally!

JoAnn in NY   June 30th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

I'm getting dizzy from all these things people are saying about MIchael Jackson. This sweet, kind, gentle man is gone. Rumors swirled around him his entire life. It would be nice if he could be respected in death. So many people are going to come out now and say things that may or may not be true just to get their face on tv...sad for them. I feel for his children, it was obvious that he loved them very much. Their well-being should be the only thing that matters right now and sending off an incredible human being with love and respect should be the order of the day. Rest in peace, MIchael. You will be missed.

Shaunte   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Good evening everyone. Its sad that everyone wants to come and speak out now, now that they have thought about getting their 15 minutes of fame. If they really cared, they would have come forward the second he passed to offer their help. SMH!

Janet   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

As a cardiac ICU nurse, I am shocked that any healthcare professional would ever consider giving diprivan to MJ under any circumstances. This is a drug I have only given under ICU conditions with the pt. on the vent. IF this is true, the person that convinced him it was safe for him to have and/or would have administered this to him is completely responsible for his death has to be dealt with and prosecuted to the full extent of the law !!!!

John Yetimoore, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Aplouse to Jackson family Lawyer.
He is correct when he said you are a reputable journalist and shouldn't get into this rumors.

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Drugs sometimes play a part in people lives legally and sometime illegally.

Mavis   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

I wish that Michael could just rest in peace without having all his private business strewn all over the television. He is dead and we should celebrate the life he lived and not trash his memory with speculation he had that enough when he was alive...

Ursula Harris   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Michael's death if caused by a drug overdose will force some kind of law to be written to prohibit doctor's hired by the wealthy or people who can afford it to get these drugs easily. As we know, if these drugs are used without caution then they can be lethal.

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

@ David, Indiana
Not always in the patient info explanations are understandable to all. Or people give to the work of reading them.

Michael   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

The lawyer is posturing and seemingly trying to prevent the truth from coming to light to ensure that the future earning potential is preserved for the Jackson family.

Ms Throwback   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

The statement the nurse from FL gave is somewhat compelling. If you were in need of meds (dire need as in addiction) and ran out of current sources, you would try any one you knew. Her call on last Sunday should be able to be confirmed by telephone. In the ER you should have a log in telecommunications. By cell, there will always be a company record and landline is easily traceable through the local sub-station of the phone company. The biggest question for her is "why now?"; she should have come forward prior to now.
In regards to a previous comment by Roe; the story was shortened since the Larry King interview and the book is the PDR (PRN is as needed).

Karen Butterworth MD   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

I am an anesthesiologist at Cedars- Sinai Hospital.I administer this drug everyday in th OR. Diprivan causes intense euphoria and is a common drug of abuse for that reason.

Rhonda   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

How is it that all the people coming forward knew of Michael's alleged abuse of drugs, actually naming the drug (s), knew of the danger but yet did nothing? There's is something called intervention!

Sounds like to me the people coming "out of the woodwork" are seeking their 15 minutes of fame. They all have a story to tell.....

Shag   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Anderson,
Don't let Al Sharpton, Mike's atty. you had on, or anyone else, try to steer you away from seeking the truth. The irony is that, if the Jacksons are seeking the truth, why would they attempt to muzzle the media.
If this icon died because of abuse of medicine, just as in the case of Anna Nicole Smith, they need to be brought to justice. The media needs to shine a bright light on this mess.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

you can get anything from a doctor if you have the money. I know some "legal" drug addicts. Pathetic

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

I thought as long as you have a biological connection to a child you never completely lose rights to that child. Doesn't the court always give a lot of weight to biology no matter what?

David, Indiana   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Are the people doing the death investigation talking to Cherlyn Lee?

Bernie B   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger. It is upsetting that with the fame, money and prestige, these stars cannot find a quiet peace so that they can sleep. Resorting to drugs and compromising their health, both men died trying to rest.

Mac   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

If she is telling the truth about these pleads for this dangerous my question is at wouldn't she tell someone of this knowledge and why wait so long after he is has returned to his father God does she say these things?

Denise   June 30th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

I think they (MJs "associates") should just go ahead and tell the truth about whatever MJ had going on – the hounds are not going to stop sniffing and the stories will be waaaaay more sensationalized than the truth would probably bare. And don't forget about opportunist trying to cash in on "exclusive" information.

Kristen, MD   June 30th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

It would be really suspicious if Debbie Rowe wanted custody after all these years of having no interest in those kids she gave birth to.

Let them stay with someone who loves them and their father. I don't know if Debbie Rowe does either one.

Lisa   June 30th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Thank you Mr. Attorney for standing to all the people that tell lies and try to take advantage of MJ dead or alive. Stop bringing him down and let his memory live in peace. He was a very loving, caring and gifted person. "just leave him alone"

Sam   June 30th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

The lawyer is right. It seems anyone can say anything and they are put on national TV without any validation.

Travis   June 30th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

People need to chill. He wanted drugs for sleep. He didn't know they were safe, his doctor told him they were. Find the doctor, get the answers.

Do the HIPAA restrictions continue after death?

Sabrina In Las Vegas   June 30th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

a revised will in 2002 makes since...that is when the third child was born and would need to be added to the will if he is given specific assets....he's 7, it's 2009.

Judith   June 30th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

HIPPA, maybe someone should revoke her license. Shes a NP and has to go to a PDR to figure out what the drug is. HOAX.

Frances   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Very good questions Irina. I do hope someone is asking those questions.

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

I don't think that Katherine Jackson will let anything happen to the three children. So, far she has keep them away from the media.

Heather   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Obviously this lady who said that she is a 'nurse' – have not heard of HIPPA CRAZY. Anderson how dear you give her air time

Shannon   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Ugh...whose next? Where are all these people coming from that have this inside information?

Nurse – if her story is true, she should be more professionl about it. She is getting in on the drama for her 15 mins.

The lawyers will be earning their money, that's for sure. What a tangled mess.

Mary M.   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

I had a colonoscopy and I was given Diprivan
for consciense sedation, but I was knocked out and did
not recall anything after I woke up very alert.
As per Dr. Gupta, I woke up very fast and was very alert,
and did not recall a thing.

Thad Wilkes   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Is having an 80 year old grandmother raise three pre-teen children the best thing for these children? Throwing the kids BACK into the lions den of Joe Jackson. Their paycheck has passed and Joe especially is in a panic.

Audrey Valley   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

As a nurse, the 911 call from the security guard has bothered me. The EMT asked where the patient was – the security guard told him he was on the bed. He also told the EMT that CPR was being perfomed by the doctor. Anyone who has had a CPR class knows that one needs to be moved to a firm surface for CPR to be performed – in this case , the floor.
Performing CPR on a bed would be useless – why did the cardiologist not know that? or perform it correctly?

irina   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

The nurse knows him for 3 months, but hasn't seen him in 3 months?? huh? I think I need to hear her again...she mentioned january which was 6 months ago.

Ron   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

I would like to know what negligence took place by the physician at MJ's side. I want to know more about him now.

M Colon   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

If dipervan{ Pofronol} was use, It would stop the resp drive. When you give this drug . You need to have control over the resp drive. example ETube. It now makes sense that if this drug was given or taken by Mr Jackson the resp drive would stop and without air the heart would stop.
This drug is used as a IV drip with pt's on vents. And very closely monitor , It can drop the Blood Pressure Fast, It needs to be monitor very close.

sharon, sydney, ns   June 30th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Do the lawyers know if Joe Jackson be a part of the kids lives?

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Katherine Jackson is 79 years old. What happens to the kids when she passes away?

Shaunte   June 30th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Also, the reports about this "Dr." are confusing. I mean one minute they are reporting that he was a long time personal friend of MJ's and the next they say that he didnt know the address, or he didnt know where the phone was to call the police..it's not adding up.

tammy- ca   June 30th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Great job of his lawyer for saying focus on his legacy not his negatives. Im with him on that. R.I.P michael jackson

Renee   June 30th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

I can't believe MJ only had a will. It seems strange that he didn't have corporations and other entities with CEO's etc.

Kristen, MD   June 30th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Teresa I kind of agree. Michael did work very hard to keep his private life away from the media, especially his children. The public getting all this personal info doesn't seem to honor him in death at all.

Michelle   June 30th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

I think there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we
know nothing about. I guess we will all find out about a
month from now. But the police know something.

Francie Sartain   June 30th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

This nurse needs to be reported and have her license revoked for breaking confidentiality and talking about private medical conversations she's had with Mr Jackson!

Krystal O   June 30th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

I cannot imagine giving away parental rights of your own kids.

Richard   June 30th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Patients have to be monitored closely and these drugs are only available in the hospital pharmacy. It is used mostly on cardiac patients. Do you see where the cardiologist comes in. That is right. Diprivan is usually prescribed by a cardiologist. I still am very suspicious of the Doctor.

THIS IS CORRECT, the CARDIOLOGIST WAS GIVING HIM DIPRIVAN and he passed, i gurantee it

larry   June 30th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

The phone statements of the nurse based on my instincts aren't credible and factual.

Omondi Jared   June 30th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

MJ's doctor did not follow the emergency protocol of', "Check, Call and Care" Is he a qualified doctor to help humans in an emergency? What could he have done better to save Michael's life? And what lessons do we learn from him and Mr. Jackson {my entertainer]?

Terry   June 30th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

It's always a shame when someone (regardless of their celebrity status) dies at such a relatively young age. Too much media time has been dedicated to Michael's passing.....it seems more than Presidents or Popes. Personally, the 50 year old who passed this week whom I will miss most is Billy Mays. God rest their souls.

Erin   June 30th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

I worked for an Oral Surgeon and we used the drug Diprivan for I.V. Sedation (in office), along with other drugs.

Renee   June 30th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

@ Anderson and CNN: Husband wants to know if the FAA has approved a "no fly zone" over the funeral. If not this is going to be a circus for sure!

Danny,Los Angeles,Ca.   June 30th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

I believe the nurse,There is another Doctor involved.People in this town know who it is. Michael was loved by those who would not give him meds that would harm him.

Tammy, Houma, LA   June 30th, 2009 10:26 pm ET

I think Katherine Jackson may be the best person to raise her grandkids. Who is better suited to keep her son's legacy and love alive?

Pauline Moon   June 30th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

wow, what happened to the old adage " believe none of what you hear and half of what you see?? Now the parentage is being questioned??

maria, CA   June 30th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

In terms of custody of the kids, Mrs. Jackson sounds like a very , very sweet and loving person, but I think it was stated that she's 79 years old. Who would be her backup? The kids are fairly young. Would the courts take that into consideration in terms of custody?

Muhammad   June 30th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

why nurse was quiet why she did not tell anybody before?

Emalee Santa Barbara, Ca   June 30th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

to Heather in Spokane , Wa. Not only was the doctor at the home when the paramedics arrived, he went with the ambulance with michael, and continued to work on him, as well as continuing to work on him in the hospital. This is why the death was not called until 2:26pm, rather than the 12:00 something when paramedics could clearly see he had already expired. The doctor wanted, needed to keep trying for a response.

Ann   June 30th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

What would happen if Katheryn Jackson passed away - Would Joe Jackson take over running the estate? Is Calif. a community property state?

Lori from IL   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

@Jo Ann in Ohio - I can tell you that weight is a factor in how drugs affect a person's body. I'm a petite woman and doctors are very cautious when prescribing medications for me. (I am having minor surgery on Thursday and after a presurgery meeting with the anesthesiology dept. they suggested a conversation between my pulmonologist and the assigned anestheiologist which will take place tomorrow.)

When someone starts contacting various physicians for medications without one pysician coordinating care they are only asking for trouble.

Jerry   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

Not even a week has gone by since Jacksons death and the number of disfunctional people showing up on the news networks grows bigger by the day. Al Sharpton,Jesse jackson,Joe Jackson, and at least a dozen scumbag lawyers. To top it all of they are going to have a public viewing on Friday of a body that will be 8 days old at that time.
His own family is milking his death for everything they can get out of it and their lack of class and respect should be obvious to even the most casual observer. This Friday will be a zoo and circus and there will be no shortage of clowns.

Lampe   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

My heart is breaking for Michaels three children. And, I could care less if they are NEON GREEN, if Michael said they are his children, then who are we to question that? What gives us the right to say he is a lair? Michael took care of those three children since the day they were born, they are his children, and he loved them with all his heart. I think it's a shame when people can't even pass in PEACE!

Anthonia-California   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

@Jo Ann- Maybe Michael's siblings would probably have custody of the kids if the mom passed away. (God forbid)

Michelle   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

Would a private physician be subject to the same
laws in a hospital ?

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

My granddaughter is 11 years old and has listened to must of Michael Jackson songs less then a week and she like them and him. And don't understand why people are so mean.

Susan   June 30th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

Diprovan is increasingly being adopted as a drug of choice for those addicts who are seeking oblivion rather than a "high". It is often seen in conjunction with people who experienced severe abuse as children and are looking for a wipeout. I work in a substance abuse facility and have seen this first hand. I would like to see you get someone on that has some professional knowledge of this issue.

Carlos   June 30th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

While the family does not want to hear any details or the causes leading up to his death, it should be reported on. It's unfair to the public to ignore those things. Yes, death is sad, but there are, also, the medical side to any death. I don't think it's right for the family lawyers to ask AC or any news org. to not discuss the causes. I do agree that any unconfirmed news should not be treated as truth, until it is confirmed.

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

Michael Jackson's legacy is surrounded with good and misunderstanding. His legacy will be, "As the legend has it,..."

Wendy Ontario, Canada   June 30th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

How can Katherine Jackson get custody ? She has been married for 60 years, you can't just leave Joe's name off of things? If he isn't fit to be named as guardian she shouldn't have the kids either.

Dan   June 30th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

The doctor also said that Michael wanted him to watch him while he slept the night he died...same as the nurse just mentioned. So it appears that when Michael was using major drugs to sleep he wanted to be monitored by a doctor. So why did the doctor leave the bedroom while Michael was sleeping when he should have been monitoring Michael and why didn't he call 911 the minute he discovered Michael was not breathing?!

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

It is sad, but consistent with everything that we always hear about the patriarch of the Jacksons.

He seems more interested in talking about his record company than the death of the his son.

Or the guy is very relax or very cynical, because he's with an image of happiness that doesn't combine with the loss of a child. But whatever!

Ms Throwback   June 30th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

The lawyers representing the family are very tactful and show great respect of privacy in not allowing all information to be privy to the public at this time. I wish them much success in there pursuit for all parties in their respective inclination of the law. May God bless and keep all who are invovled in this most arduous time.

@JGbraineruption   June 30th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

This nurse is most definately lying. Everyone comes out now with their "stories" Anything for a book deal right? She had not seen or spoke to him in 3 months then out of the blue MJ's camp calls and seeks for her? Really? I'm sure there were plenty of Doctors around who could have given him it.

These jigsaw peices don't merge. This is Ridiculous LIES. Anything for money.

David, Indiana   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

@Isabel, Yes, combination of prescription drugs can be dangerous, so that is a central question. But I think the point others are making about the HIPPA, I think it stands for Healt Information Patient Privacy Act? is important. That info from the nurse shld be part of the medical investigation and I do feel like Michael Jackson's lawyer has a point, reporting on information that is not verified is a problem.

James Derwin   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

LYME DISEASE....TICK BORNE DISEASE is what I think JACKSON had...trust me its a "hidden disease" makes you have extreme pain fatigue...can cause a heart attack....and causes extreme sleeplessness at night mostly.

Grant Fleming   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

All of these lawyers looking out for the "kids". I hope there is something left for the kids after their outrageous fees are paid!

Lisa   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

You know, this nurse story is just crazy and not credible at all. Why in the world would CNN giver her the time of day? This just frustrates me to know end that now all these people want to be gooders and get their story out. Where were they when MJ really needed help! When it mattered!!!

Lenn   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

The children of my Michael Jackson is mourning, shock, sad and miss their dad very much and here are all this reports about Michael saying he is not their biological dad...people it is already hard for the children as it is and here you are adding more heartbreaking reports about them and their dad. Leave the children alone.

Krystal O   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

I'm glad to know the family is allowing a public viewing of Michael. His fans loved him so much and need that closure. Their love is also the reason for all the questions being asked surrounding his death.

Angela   June 30th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

How sad this is for the kids! Even if they don't hear these stories directly, they'll eventually hear them from their cousins and school mates. There's a line of common decency that's being crossed here.

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

I think Michael's death witl probably be attributed to a drug overdose and neglect by those he trusted.

sharon   June 30th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

I agree with the Jackson family lawyer. Credible journalists shouldn't be chasing down crazy stories such as this nurse's tale about diprovan.

Tina   June 30th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

I think it is so sad that Michael had these things going on with him and people within his inner circle knowing these things but yet they just turned a blind eye and choosing not to seek help. We love you Michael !

Felicia   June 30th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

Good evening everyone from the O.C.!

Amen to Anderson Cooper.
Finally someone had the heart to ask how Momma Jackson
was doing during all of this!!

Keep up the Awesome work Anderson.

Barb Larson   June 30th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

Do you not think that Mrs Jackson is too old to be the gardian of 3 young children. I think is is wonderful that she has stepped up to take care of them, but not on a full time basis. They need a younger set of parents to guide them thur their lives. Maybe one of Michael's siblings would be a better choice, not Debbie Rowe. That is not fair to Michaels mother to put that burden on her in her sunset years.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   June 30th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

My gosh, That is terrible news, my heart goes to teenagers, that's not safe to bus stop, that is very danger, never shot at teenagers at all! Not idea! hope they will be found green van.

Shaunte   June 30th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Katherine would do a wonderful job! as far as her age, i do believe they have a nanny and a ton of relatives that can help. despite dna MJ raised those kids which is a lot more than some men do with the ones they are genetically connected to.

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

It's nothing like a wonderful mom.

Chad   June 30th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Good idea to quickly appoint a special administrator for Michael's estate – the appointment of an executor could take some time and be an interesting process depending on the terms of the Will that will be submitted to Probate.

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Remember when a person is abuse as a child they have mental problems when they grow-up, if not taking care of. Counseling and anti-depression pills can help them to live a so call normal life.

Donna   June 30th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

I don't understand Anderson. Pictures were taken of Michael Jackson dancing with no apparent problem. now, Cherilyn Lee is saying that Michael Jackson had problem with "one side of body hot and the other side cold." Her story just don't make sense Anderson.

Vickie   June 30th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

Please leave the kids alone! Didn't you hear the lawyer say that "bottom line", as far as the law is concerned, Michael is the father. What else do you need to know?

Don't you think the kids are in enough pain. Who knows what they have been told about their biology, if anything.

Have a heart!

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

Who is the father of Jackson's kids?

No matter! These children must be preserved!

lois w   June 30th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

Miss Cheriln Lee needs to be quite, the world's been harassing him since his career stared he gone and we well all miss him the world did this to him and he still can't have rest lov you MJ god bless

Rose   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

we feel the lost and we should respect the jackson's and give them there space out of respect for the family.

jacqueline   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

i would like to know if joe knew of the will? And if so... could him not agreeing or liking what was on it be the reason why he acted the way he did at the BET awards with puttin out his "Label"?

andy   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

I agree, I think that the attorney is looking to keep the future earnings potential alive. The reason all these facts are important is that someone has directly and/or indirectly led him to his death. I was not a big fan.. but I am so sad by this.. he was a gentle soul.

LisaL - Canada   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

there certainly is something very calming and comforting about unconditional companionship - i do hope the children have this kind of support, because this has got to be so difficult for them

Kathy, Chicago   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

If Michael's Mom has been given custody of the children, I hope she has a much younger staff to help her.

Luissa   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

Thank you Anderson for such a wonderful piece on Michael Jackson's mother. Among all this chaos it is nice to hear of the special relationship Michael had with her.

sharon, sydney, ns   June 30th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

I'm glad Katherine got custody. At least the kids will have some semblance of normalcy in the hard days to come without their dad.

Krystal O   June 30th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Anyone else think it's obvious the two kids aren't his own? Even if they aren't his biological children, he still loved them just the same.

Chris Sosa - Boston, MA   June 30th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Just got back in... Knew those kids weren't his biological kin, especially given the suspect circumstances of their conception. I hope this doesn't get messy for his kids' and family's sake.

Sabrina In Las Vegas   June 30th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

wow...children are not Pawns, they are people!!!!

That is messed up....like the Orphan Anne thing.

Patty Spain   June 30th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Anderson, although there are some pics of Michael Jackson's kids dressed comparatively normally – he did live an eccentric life. The kids should have friends outside of family, be able to play, and be able to go outside without being masked or costumed. I know his mother wants custody, but Debbie Rowe is younger. His mother's age should be a factor. Who is best to integrate them into a "normal" childhood?

Di   June 30th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

If Michael disliked his father so much==why doesn't MOM make him quit being a spokesperson during these difficult times. Joe Jackson is the reason Michael had so many problems!!! I'm sure Michael & other siblings wonder why "Mom" stayed by this idiot!!!

starr formerly known as vincent   June 30th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

And NOW he's not the biological father? I am starting to go into Overload on the constant flow of bizzare information.

Lori Ballard   June 30th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

Has the question been asked; "Why (with a private physician and medical staff with Michael Jackson) was there not an AED immediately available"?

Kathy, Chicago   June 30th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

Randi" s story was so creepy. I feel so bad for the children and the battles to follow.

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pit and other artists have no more children who are not biological!
Father and mother's who create, care, love!

Sonia from Texas   June 30th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

The registered nurse just wants her 15 minutes of fame now. If this story is true, she being in the medical profession should have contacted the authorities right after Michael died. No, she should have contacted someone the night she said someone called her saying that Michael Jackson needed her after three months of no contact!! I'm not sure I believe any of this story!

Sandy, MI   June 30th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Donna & Sandy: I am on the same page with both of you! The two of you said it all. I'm suspicious of the Doc as well. Someone said this is like a soap or mystery – indeed it is. With more saga's to come as well.

Has anyone seen Neverland lately? From what I've heard it's trashed, and that is where MJ will be on Friday....awwe so sad..

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

I feel sorry for MJ kids, they don't need this kind of news. Have some respect for their feelings!

Tammy, Houma, LA   June 30th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

MIchael Jackson raised those kids and loved them. It is disgusting that the leeches will come out to use them for their money. Regardless of DNA, family are the people who love and care for you.

Renee   June 30th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Good for Debbie Rowe! Why does the media or anyone need to know who about the eggs and the sperms? My God there are children, real people, here! I hope Mama Jackson has the TV off right now.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   June 30th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

I am glad also Katherine Jackson custody her grandchildren today. They are so close each other.

Oana   June 30th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Why does it matter who the biological donors of the children are? I cringed when CNN asked "Who is the daddy?" Donors have no custody rights, Michael Jackson was the legal father. Leave this family alone.

CAROLYN J   June 30th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

ANDERSON, micheal is dead now he was married to the mother of the children under ca. law he is the father . only he could bring into
court a paternity challenge....... he is dead they are legally his children.

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

How will be the MIchael’s children in the midst of many speculation, gossip, invasions of privacy on the life and death of Michael?

sharon, sydney, ns   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

The whole issue of whether or not he is the biological father is mute. He's the only dad those kids have known and he is dead now. I hope they (the kids) don't actually hear any of this stuff. Haven't they gone through enough? It's like one of the Jackson lawyers said, there are a lot of people out there with a lot of wild stories that will eventually not hold up. Please be careful with what you report. Especially concerning the kids.

Jay   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

Nurse story is not at all believable. I am not sure why she got the prime time and CNN.com headline

Mike, Syracuse, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

The odds of the 3 kids growing up normal are zip.

Jacqueline, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

@Wendy Ontario, Canada June 30th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

"How can Katherine Jackson get custody ? She has been married for 60 years, you can’t just leave Joe’s name off of things? If he isn’t fit to be named as guardian she shouldn’t have the kids either."

You can if he beats you and cheats on you and starts another family on the side. Sure you can. He did.

Catherine G Jones   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

I'd like to know if Michael had an insurance policy. If so, the heirs may not be entitled to as much money if he is shown to be negligent in his own death. Someone who stands to gain from an insurance policy would certainly like the perception to be the decedent was not responsible for his own death.

TD Brock   June 30th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

I have no doubt that Mrs. Jackson will be her utmost to look after the kids. My concern is that, at 79, how much longer will she be around to look after them. Would it not be prudent to draw up alternative plans just in case?

Dianne   June 30th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

What does it matter who the father or mother is. Legally the kids belong to MJ. Have some compassion for these children. They have enough to deal with. Don't you think these kids are watching TV. My heaven ! have some compassion.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   June 30th, 2009 10:42 pm ET

The children are interesting because MJ said he was the biological father. fasinating to say the least but I hope and pray they have a somewhat normal life. God bless the children

Debbi - OKC, OK   June 30th, 2009 10:42 pm ET

I have a gut feeling about Ms. Lee's qualifications of diagnosing Micheal. I feel she is trying to get her "15 minutes of fame". It just doesn't sound right.

Mary McGoldrick   June 30th, 2009 10:42 pm ET

Come on...does anyone doubt that Micheal's system won't be filled with drugs?

Brenda   June 30th, 2009 10:42 pm ET

Let the man just Rest In Peace...I will be there on Friday with many Canadians to pay our respect and to say Goodbye to the King Of Pop...

We love you Michael.....

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:42 pm ET

It's not always about money because accordingly what money? It is good for the children to be care for immediately and not loose.

Crystal   June 30th, 2009 10:42 pm ET

I feel that it is entirely inappropriate to discuss whether or not Michael's 3 children are his biologically..the children haven't even had a week to mourn the loss of their father and airing such tittles like"who's their daddy" just adds to the pain and confusion..

David, Indiana   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

@Isabel, you're right, my comment about pt info is not necessarily relevant. There is so much that is not known, I don't intend to speculate.

Chelsea   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

I am really sick of people trying to figure out who the biological parents of MJ's kids are. No one has been a parent to them but MJ. He loved and cared for them as all parents should. Enough said. Please let it and him rest.

Tracy   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

Dear Anderson,
I would like to know the name of the person who made the 911 call from Michael Jackson's home last Thursday? He has only been identified as "the caller."

alan   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

Fatherhood is not based on DNA alone. I know many biological parents that are lousy parents..sad to say

Lisa   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

Why all of a sudden they are they not his kids??? All becaue there is MONEY..It's a sin what is goin on let the man R.I.P...The only man them kids know as a father was Michael he must of done something right because no one wanted to claim them until he passed away!!!!

cee   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

why should it matter...to the media who the biological father is...give those kids some respect as well as the family...it's getting to the point where it's ridiculious...give them time to grieve for their father....& the so called nurse appears to be delusional & why is she comiing forth now...and why did she make the statement that she was being admitted to the hospital herself...maybe the psycho ward!!!!!!!

obamasome   June 30th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

Anderson:
I am disappointed in all the negative coverage this man in death is receiving. He is not even here to defend himself and all the reports that are attempting to degrade and demoralize the greatness of his legacy is deplorable. And now exposing his children and trying to tear down the legitimacy of his fatherhood, it's just disappointing. Is anyone thinking about how this irresponsible reporting will affect his children? May he rest in peace.

Jonathan Furches   June 30th, 2009 10:44 pm ET

My question is why dont they do dna testing on Michael Jacksons kids ? And is it true Jorda Chandler come forth and said the truth that Michael didnt have sexual relations with him.My prayers go to the Jackson family.

Julie   June 30th, 2009 10:44 pm ET

Seriously, why are we all surprised that Michael wasn't the biological father? Have you seen the children? Come on, lets leave the children out of it. Isn't it enough they just lost their the only parent they have known, but now they have to hear from the media, that he isn't the biological father. Do we want another generation of damaged Jacksons? Come on give the kids a break.

Zakia   June 30th, 2009 10:44 pm ET

Please stop reporting about the children show some respect to the children at this very sad and difficult time. The media put Michael through hell when he was living. The man was a musical genius.

nancy   June 30th, 2009 10:44 pm ET

all these videos that are surfacing of Micheal's rehearsal for the tour, I was wondering if there was a video of the last rehearsal on Wednesday night that could be made into a movie/documentary at a later date

Jenna   June 30th, 2009 10:45 pm ET

Hopefully this all comes to an end soon. Let Michael Jackson rest in peace; and his family (including those children) live their lives. We should all cherish the good memories Michael gave us.
Love&Blessings.

As of those children... Michael has been their father; and the only father they need. Anyone to say other wise has "2 million reasons as to why they are coming out now." let them mourn the death of their father and live with their loving grandmother. Blessing to Mrs. Jackson- you are a true heroine in my eyes.

Melinda   June 30th, 2009 10:45 pm ET

Anderson,

Randy's report on "Whose your Daddy?" was offensive to adoptive families. Please don't use words like "real parent." Michael Jackson is the children's Daddy, period. Please use words like birthparents or biological parents. Thanks.

Gady Mayen from Canada   June 30th, 2009 10:45 pm ET

I must say Erica or Anderson. Gov. Stanford is a dirt bag and a half! How does he expect his wife to love him after he turns the horns on her? Like, where is the vet!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Grrrrrr......! Outrage!!!!

Chontele   June 30th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

i think that the docter that was at michaels house should have called the ambulance the minute he stopped breathing not 30 minutes later if he did do that michael might be hear today and doing his concert just a few weeks away...im only 12 years old and i will dearly miss michael jackson rest in peace michael you rocked my world and i will cherish your music forever

Judy   June 30th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

Surely no one will let Michaels children anywhere around Joe Jackson , EVER. He seems crazy!!! Who knows if he would beat them also. I don't think Michael could rest in peace if they were ever around him!!

Lydia   June 30th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

Regarding Michael Jackson's children, why is it anyones business if he is their father? Are you all forgetting that those children are still alive and they will one day hear the callous and insensitive comments made by the media? Again, I ask, why does Debbie Rowe need to comment on anything regarding those children? It is none of our business, let it remain the business of the Jackson family and the court system. Our lives will not change one way or another knowing any of the intimate details of their lives. Let's stick to discussing his music and his generosity. How about when any of you, the press, pass on, we, the public, delve into every aspect of your lives and make it public, just because we want to know? Give it a rest already!

Colleen   June 30th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

In the event of your death, would you want the general public and media to automatically assume that they have the right to know about and broadcast every detail related to your medical history, your autopsy results, what's in your blood, etc? It's not our right. He was an entertainer; a fabulously talented one at that. He's gone. Nothing we find out will change that.

valerie   June 30th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

We need to show these children some respect. They did not ask to be born into this mess and now have their lives on public display this way. The subject of the paternity of Michael's children needs to be left to the courts. His name is on the birth certificate, he's the father. Let his mother and Ms. Rowe sort out the rest in court after his memorial.

Kathy, Chicago   June 30th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

AC, I hope you all have a great 4th. My thoughts go out to the Jackson family this week. May Michael
rest in a peace he didn't seem to have when he was alive. God Bless Michael and his children.

Lisa   June 30th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

I think the media is being so unfair to Michael, his family and children. to question who is the father of the children is ugly and mean. This is the man they know as their father who has been father to them in every since of the word. Have a heart and leave it alone for the children.

Frances   June 30th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

Concierge doctors?????????? These people need to be STRICTLY monitored and regulated! Including prescriptions they write and drugs they carry on their person. No matter how much they are getting paid, they should NOT be allowed to do whatever they want. It appears that MJ bought his own death from one of these "doctors". This is the highest form of greed, and it makes me so sick! I am a nurse, and I work with great physicians daily. It just angers me when I see nurses like MJ's "nurse" and these concierge "doctors"....they make us all look bad.

Isabel, Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

Too bad everything has ended this way ... would be a great show!
:'(

Julie Slessinger   June 30th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

I appreciate your reporting but I take exception to the focus on the children questioning paternity and the biological link. Coming from an adopted person, me,...you are making issue where there should be none. thank you...julie

Rose From Muscoy, Calif   June 30th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Very, very, sad!

Suzanne   June 30th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Although the nurse disclosed information that is critical to the events leading to MJ's death, I still don't understand why, after being told MJ was "extremely" ill, she didn't immediately seek a doctor's help or find someone to take MJ to the hospital.

charmichael   June 30th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Meanwhile, Lou Ferrigno, who must have seen Michael wearing something other than a long-sleeved, -legged suit didn't notice MJ was skin on bones...didn't notice how slow (based on the video) he was moving. He told Larry King MJ looked healthy and strong. Could Lou be concerned about some sort of liability here?

Jack Gargaro , Syracuse, Ny   June 30th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

its sad how fame leads you die so early and alone,,,where were all Michael Jacksons fans,, and friends when he needed them the last few years...... very sad everyone is around now!

Sarah Silva, New York   June 30th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

This is terrible, if Deprivin or some other drug was given to Michael Jackson. Bottom line is a gentle kind man is gone and if it is due to unethical medical practices by so-called doctors, AC360 and CNN should continue to do what it's doing to make the world aware. And hopefully prevent it from ever happening again !!

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

Lori from IL, I am sure that is what happened. If one doctor doesn't know what the other one is prescribing it can be fatal. Look at what they are saying about acetaminophen.

Good luck with your surgery!

Ms Throwback   June 30th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

On Governor Mark Sanford; he is doing the same as some have done before him. He can definitely be included in the "Good Ole' Boys Club". Should his wife reconcile for the rest of his term and beyond is a soul searching question. Either way she will be strong and wiser in wisdom.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   June 30th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

The "Governor" Stanford has become the Terminator Governor where his marriage is concerned. Is he nuts saying all that thrash? Some things you just keep to yourself.

Mr Sanford is trying to "fall back in love w/his wife??"
Mrs Sanford needs to kick his butt to the curb!! And quick!!!!!

Nicole Manning   June 30th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Please leave the children alone" Micheal has been the father of these
children from day one. Who cares" Why was'nt anyone worried about the biological factor before Micheals sad sad death. I have loved and cared for Micheal and his family from when i was young. God please look over this family. And take care of Micheal

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   June 30th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Governor don't do us no favorite by falling back in love with your wife. Do it for yourself. It sound as though it will be hard for you to do.

David, Indiana   June 30th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Looks and sounds like a wonderful concert that Michael Jackson and dancers were rehearsing. It sounds good. Thank you for showing that Anderson.

Seneca Rose   June 30th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

I have serious doubts regarding statements made by nurse Lee. As an ICU nurse who regularly administers Diprivan to intubated patients, her comments just don't add up. In addition, I don't know of any nurse who uses the outdated PDR (physician desk reference)...sounds like someone wants 15 minutes of fame at Mr. Jackson's expense

Donna   June 30th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

A next point: Dr. Murray's attorney said that he "met Michael Jackson unresponsive but, had a pulse." Every medical professional knows that if a patient has a pulse but not breathing rescue breaths should be preformed not CPR.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   June 30th, 2009 10:53 pm ET

Thanks for the report tonight! It has been REAL! Love all you guys!
have a nice evening! XO

Sanford did one good thing, announcing his affair a day before Michael's death....he's pretty much forgotten. :D

Renee   June 30th, 2009 10:53 pm ET

@ Melinda: Thank you for your comments. For those of us who are adopted and don't know our biological "sperm donors" we don't refer to them as our "Daddies." The only "Daddy" I knew was the man that adopted and loved me until his death.

Why is Joe Jackson choosing to promote a record company. I guess he is getting ready for a big fat zero when the will is read. What artist would want to be repersented by him. I would think any member of the former Jackson 5 would have better chance of starting a record company. Joe needs to live a quiet life on a budget.

Just watched the supposed to be dancers for MJ, it's just unfortunate that it didn't happen for them. So as Charice, Oprah's child protege she's suppose to also dance and sing with MJ on his upcoming tour.

Jackie Cole   June 30th, 2009 10:54 pm ET

Good to see you on this side of the world again. Just tuned in and will have to catch up during the second hour. Looks like more breaking news envolving the nurses story. Glad to see the Governor trying to work things out after so many years of marriage and 4 sons later. Have a good evening Erica and Anderson.

Krystal O   June 30th, 2009 10:55 pm ET

I wish Michael could have seen how much the world cares about him. I hope he has peace now.

Tammy, Houma, LA   June 30th, 2009 10:55 pm ET

The news in Iraq is the best I've heard in quite some time. Each of those 4300 souls was a real person, not just a number. This is so bittersweet for those of us who lost people we loved during this conflict.

Tracy   June 30th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

I think they are taking this paternity issue too far now! Since Michael's name is on the birth certificate, it doesn't matter if there was a sperm donor or not. Being a donor doesn't give you parental rights. I think it would be wrong to reveal something to his children that he didn't even tell them himself. It's not fair to make these kids suffer any more than they already have just to satisfy the curiosity of the public. These are innocent children's lives.

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   June 30th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

Great report and sentiment by Tom Foreman.

Good night Anderson, Erica & Team 360.
Good night fellow bloggers.

At the end of the MJ circus we (family & friends) hope that he wil be remembered for all of the good that he did and the profound effect that he had in music, dance, and peace & love.

Great shot!

DOESNT MATTER if Michael Jackson adopted, used a seregant, used artifical insemination, whatever, doestn matter....those children were BORN into Michael Jacksons family...and they were BORN as their father being Mr. Michael Jackson. Why even talk about that....doesn't matter. really. He is the only father they know...or will no.
Plus, that is the LAST thing three kids that just lost THEIR father need to be hearing.

Bruno from Brazil   June 30th, 2009 10:57 pm ET

It's very sad to hear all the things those people are talking about MJ, now. What terrifies me is the fact that they are now respecting the children. Do those people want to destroy their lives? How can they live with this doubt now? It's cruel. They should think about them and try to preserve them through this momment. No matter who their natural father is. MJ was up to now and will always be their father. Thanks.

Bye Anderson and Erica

Have a good evening and may God bless the Jackson's children.

Karen   June 30th, 2009 10:57 pm ET

I have never believed that Michael is the father of the children. I am now starting to question whether Debbie is the mother, or just a surrogate to these kids. No amount of money could let me give up my own blood.

The dancers were great, they should put on a Tribute show for the ticket holders honoring Michael Jackson using some of the Music Talents from around the world.

Heather - Spokane, WA   June 30th, 2009 10:57 pm ET

I feel sorry for that squirrel

Lori from IL   June 30th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Anderson — If you “hate reporting on children” — why are you doing it?

Too many stories at this time — wish all the press would leave this “story” alone, let the legal proceedings happen and then report on the results — rather than reporting on the “what ifs.”

I truly hope the children are protected and able to go on and live happy, productive lives.

Pauline Canada   June 30th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

What I really don't understand is, wouldn't the Dr have wanted to get paramedics to Michael immediately as they have portable electrical paddles to try to get his heart started if he though it was cardiac arrest?

irina   June 30th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Ewwww lol

beverley Walker   June 30th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

she is a nurse to the stars, I would not use her to tie my shoes. Also you can rest assured that no other celebrity will call her because she cant keep her mouth shut. Well, she better find another profession.

Tammy, Houma, LA   June 30th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

I think I'd be afraid of being bitten by that baby squirrel. Good night everyone. And Anderson, good job this morning not dancing for Kelly no matter how strong the pressure was.

Vickie   June 30th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Good Evening Mr. Cooper,

The sensationalism and obsession of the media whether Michael Jackson is/isn't the biological father to HIS children is irrelevant and really NONE of anyone's business!!!! Biology does not make a father, if you're not sure of this, then ask all the children who have been adopted or been in foster care and have a loving relationship with their families. Let us all remember the legacy Mr. Jackson has gifted the world and honor his memory!!!

Donna   June 30th, 2009 11:00 pm ET

Michael Jackson, rest in peace everything will be alright........ will always love you

nabil   June 30th, 2009 11:00 pm ET

Let the man rest in peace.

Kim   June 30th, 2009 11:00 pm ET

I consider myself to be a mother and a grandmother yet I never was able to have children of my own. Therefore, I am trying to understand the importance of " Who are the biological parents of Micheal Jackson's children." I may have misunderstood the definition of a parent. Is it not to love, teach, and protect? He was clearly a parent.

Kim
