June 29th, 2009 10:03 pm ET It's still so unbelievable to watch his videos and his concerts and see the amazing power permeating and know that this person is gone. A great creative genius and like all the other few such people, he passed before his time. We can still listen to Michael's songs though. |

June 29th, 2009 10:04 pm ET Good evening Anderson, 360 team, all bloggers. I really wish Michael Jackson had been able to do his comeback performances in London. If he had to die, I wish he had been able to do those first. All of this doctor stuff doesn't make sense to me. I just can't buy that 911 couldn't have been called sooner. He sleeps over? What's that about? I like my doctor but he doesn't sleep over. |

June 29th, 2009 10:05 pm ET Good Evening Anderson, I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the family of Michael Jackson. I am appauled at Joe Jackson's attempts to plug in his new record company during a time such as this. Does this man stop at nothing? Is it not enough that he mentally, verbally and emotionally abused Michael all his life? Can Michael please have the rest and peace that he so very much deserved in life yet never received? It is shameful that his own father shows no remorse. Beating someone can be done with more than a switch or belt. Joe Jackson did not need a stick. His vile mouth and actions to Michael was the stick. Let's remember Michael and all of his achievements in this life. May God grant him rest and peace. |

June 29th, 2009 10:06 pm ET If the private doctor was innocent of not giving Michael any meds or was not in the room with him when he died then why did he run? Why didnt he stay and talk to the paramedics or go to the hospital with him and talk with the doctors? An innocent person would have done all of that and maybe more. |

June 29th, 2009 10:06 pm ET If 2 bags of drugs were taken from the MJ's home, it makes you wonder if some of the toxicology results have returned and they went back to see if they could retrieve any of the drugs that were in his blood. |

June 29th, 2009 10:07 pm ET It does not matter if he did or not, if the cardiologist was not privy to the other medications Michael was taking, any medications the Doctor provided in conjuction with Michael's private medications would be a terrible mixture. |

June 29th, 2009 10:08 pm ET Didn't Dr. Murray's attorney just say that Dr. Murray and Michael were close friends on Larry King? Yet the news summary immediately following (beginning AC360) described that there's was a chance encounter. What's the truth here? Doesn't smell good from here. |

June 29th, 2009 10:08 pm ET Hi yall, It's weird that Michael's doctor wouldn't know what prescription medication he was on. What doctor doesn't know that about their patient. I think there should be a national prescription drug registry of some sort, even in emergencies if you can't talk someone can look up your info. |

June 29th, 2009 10:09 pm ET Good evening Anderson and Fellow Bloggers – Hope everyone had a good weekend. Can't believe that it took 30 minutes before a 911 call - that's absurd. If he had a cell phone - how long does it take to "dial" 911? The details that are coming out seem to make me have more and more questions about his dr. |

June 29th, 2009 10:09 pm ET I think Michael Jackson picked Dr. Murray on purpose. I think Michael felt he could trust Dr. Murray AND that he could manipulate him at the same time. I also heard that Dr. Murray did NOT stay at the residence, but he at times had slept over. Question is: Why did Michael hire a CARDIOLOGIST specifically? |

June 29th, 2009 10:10 pm ET Seeing these photos of Michael appearing on the way to a strong comeback, makes me realize how many years has been lost due to the relentless US media's scrutiny, and public mockery of MJ's struggle being the biggest star in modern day times. June 29th, 2009 10:11 pm ET "No land line phone": How does a doctor hired by MJ not have a phone on hand for emergencies and why didn't he know the address of the patient he is hired to monitor? It took 30 minutes to call for help? Surely he owns a cell phone to dial 911. Makes no sense to me. |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET There is a strong opinion that lately Michael had been surrounded by a bunch of "enablers" who was taking advantage of his helpless condition, who pressured him to do things he didn't want to do (such as doing 50 concerts instead of the 10 he originally agreed to) and probably druged him to keep him under their control. If this is really so, what can be done to bring those people to justice and can they be charged with his murder? |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET i do not understand why the doctor did what he did according to his lawyer if he had a pulse you do not start cpr the chest compressions could cause even more problems you would only keep the airway open and assist breathing then if no pulse start compressions with his drug use he must have narcan around why wasn.t this given |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET The Anna Nicole Smith saga will be nothing compared to the Jackson circus that's to come. Funny how every news show has self professed friends of MJ coming out of the woodwork. If he had so many friends why was he so lonely? |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET The reason the doctor's attorney paused and stumbled when answering whether the doctor would consider Michael Jackon healthy is beccause it is so clear that he was not healthy. You don't have to be a doctor to know that. As for Joe Jackson, he is a terrible, terrible person. I hope Katherine finally leaves him so she can raise those three innocent children in peace. |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET Juat wanted to share this about the Madoff fiasco; Madoff is probably the least guilty person in this crime. The guilty (greedy) suspects are the investors that invested millions with promises of returns that ran upwards of %50. We all know that market returns of %50 or more is totally (in the words of Mike Tyson) ludicrous. So many investor lost millions each. Yes I am sorry for the few that just "didn't know any better," but I have no remorse for the intelligent millionaires who sought to profit off of what they knew was a scam. Madoff killed no one, yet he received a much longer sentence than some murderers do. This country that I love dearly can sometimes be insane. In the end no matter what happens to Madoff or Stanford the losers the "lost" (more like gambled) their money away. Will still turn out to be losers and never see a penny. That is what happens to greedy folks. As the old saying goes "if it's seems too good to be true, then it probably is." |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET I missed out on all MJ coverage last wk. just wanted to say when i did volunteer work for Make a Wish foundation, MJ was well known for NEVER turning down a wish for a dying child. June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET What kind of hack what this doctor working on Michael Jackson giving him CPR on a bed? I have never taken a CPR class but I know you have to be on a Flat surface. The 911 operator was a moron too. Why was there no telephone in the bedroom ? Did the doctor have a cell phone? Something is definitely wrong with this case? I see holes everywhere... |

June 29th, 2009 10:12 pm ET I think on Larry King it was mentioned that the toxicology tests take long because results have to go through several people and also information from various sources (including pharmacology companies) is collected before the final results are revealed. |

June 29th, 2009 10:13 pm ET AC – an unquestioned tragedy. His tour would undoubtedly have returned him to the top of the charts, it is unfortunate that he has now done so in death. RIP MJ. Rest in peace. The world will miss you. |

June 29th, 2009 10:13 pm ET My question is, what made the doctor go up to Michael Jackson's room to check on him to begin with? Was he just doing a routine check? Thanks, Melissa |

June 29th, 2009 10:13 pm ET The story that Dr. Conner is sharing about not being near a phone does not make sense, especially for a licensed physician of any kind. Most people know that within the first five minutes of someone's breathing stopped, resucitation must be performed to prevent oxygen from going to the brain and causing severe brain damage. We shall see how this pans out but it smells fishy. |
|

June 29th, 2009 10:13 pm ET Dr. Congrad Murry should lose his medical license. His attorney's story that Michael was in great condition is such bull. The truth is, Conrad Murry prescribed multiple narcotics to MJ. It's just too bad that Michael didn't have any true friends around to help save him. |

June 29th, 2009 10:13 pm ET I'm sadden by Michael Jackson's passing, but I am conflicted by the way Joe Jackson is behaving. HIs demeanot at the BET awards yesterday gave me the impression that he was liking the spotlight a little too much on just 3 days after his son's death. I feel disturbed by the way he talks to reporters with a half smile on his face. |

June 29th, 2009 10:13 pm ET If the physician who was with Michael Jackson at the end is indeed a cardiologist and he does not know that you cannot effectively do CPR on a soft surface, that is extra frightening. His specialty "is" the heart. Even more bizarre, is Joe Jackson. |

June 29th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Good evening everyone. After a weekend of retrospect to Michael Jackson, I can’t help but feel a lot of sadness for him. Michael was a man who had to become an adult as a child, and missed out on most things that children get to experience. But as an adult, he wanted to live the childhood that he missed out on. Over the weekend, I listened to the song, Childhood, from his CD set, History. It brought tears to my eyes because it took on a different meaning after his death. And I thought Joe Jackson's appearance at the BET awards was just odd. |

June 29th, 2009 10:14 pm ET As a medical professional, I have to renew my CPR every two years. I would like to know how a cardiologist can perform efficient chest compressions when a pt. is lying on the bed as opposed to lying on a frim surface. |

June 29th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Michael Jackson was a irreplaceable soul and will be an unbeatable talent forever. He will live on forever in the hearts and actions of his children and fans and he would be more than touched and moved by the outpouring of love from a nation and world who loved him and felt the love back. June 29th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Good evening Anderson: I have read reports where Michael collasped in front of the children and they thought he was playing; then you hear where they said the doctor found him lying int he bed. Well what really happened? I think the good doctor should be accountable. As for Joe Jackson, he act like he was on "something" and he surely didn't act like a grieving father. And I understand that he had undergone an insurance physical, were these drugs not detected in this physical? |

June 29th, 2009 10:14 pm ET Good Evening, I agree with Larry about Revs. Jackson & Sharpton hovering over all the media like vultures. I believe Mr. Jackson is out for the money. June 29th, 2009 10:15 pm ET Evening Anderson, Erica, Isabel, everyone. Those pictures of Michael Jackson rehearsing for his upcoming concerts seem more like what should be happening to me. @Isabel, you are right, the tributes are beautiful, a contrast to the press inquiries that are needed but at this point way ahead of the actual investigation. At this point, the speculation may be seeming to expose Michael Jackson's personal life, but in fact only be only that speculation. |
|
| Tori Druilhet |
June 29th, 2009 10:15 pm ET The story doesn't sit right. There are too many conflicting reports and the lawyer for the doctor seems to be conflicted, perhaps holding back information? |

June 29th, 2009 10:15 pm ET As a physician, I have to point out that a hard surface is neccessary to perform chest compressions as part of CPR. However if a patient has a pulse, (though weak), he needs rescue breaths if he is not breathing, as well as medications to increase his blood pressure and support his heart. He did not neccesarily need to be moved at that time. |

As a cardiologist, the doctor had to know that timewas of the essence to re-start the heart (unless he had a battery of heart meds and a defibrilator.) I doubt very much that it was suicide or euthinasia, given the reports of how enthusiastic MJ was about his upcoming gig in London. |

June 29th, 2009 10:15 pm ET What Joe Jackson said last night at the BET awards had some truth. While he was alive, especially in the last few years, Michael was constantly attacked and suddenly, he is a hero again. Oh well, that's to be expected I guess. |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Dr Murray should have known he needed to call 911 right away because Michael's best chance was to be defibrillated. |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Question: the doctor rode with MJ to the hospital and spoke with the family...how come Jesse Jackson says the family has unanswered questions? Has the doctor spoken with the family since? The docs behavior is strange and unsettling |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET Why was this adult cardiologist treating one of Michael Jackson's kids? Adult cardiologists do not receive any formal training in pediatrics once they are out of medical school. Also, there's roughly an 85% pass rate for first time test takers when attempting to get board certified in cardiology....why would anyone want to pay this guy $150k a month when he didn't even pass a basic certification exam? |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET So now the doctor is saying MJ was still alive in the ambulance? When exactly did he die then....in the ambulance? ER? This story is just getting more and more bizarre. "Not board-certified"....indeed. |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET I will never buy anything that has the Name Joe Jackson on it, I can't believe that he finds it more important to focus on his record lable rather than addressing his son's death to MJ's fans. How could Joe Jackson be so cold. I am starting to believe what Michael Jackson said years ago about his father on how nasty he was. |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET I think Michael Jackson's cardiologist had to have know that he was on other medications even if he did not verbalize it. I also think that his father has the nerve to show up at the BET awards after all the physical, emotional and psychological pain he caused him. There he is all smiles on the red carpet once again taking advantage of Michael's fame. At what cost do you push your kids in life?!! |

June 29th, 2009 10:16 pm ET According to multiple people in his surroundings, Michael was very thin and barely ate anything. Why didn't his doctor/FRIEND insist that Michael would be hospitalized considering his frail condition? Also, his doctor's attorney said that he was giving Michael the medication. Aren't you supposed to take some medicine WITH FOOD???? This is very-very strange.... |

June 29th, 2009 10:17 pm ET I think the famous Dr. is hiding something, Joe Jackson can go around saying he is doing what his son would have wanted him to do we all the sleazy old man is full of --. June 29th, 2009 10:17 pm ET The attorney for the doctor stated on CNN that the doctor help with the press release that Jermaine Jackson gave to the public. Well, in that statement Jermaine stated the Michael received an injection and passed-out a hour later. Where did Jermaine get that info., if not from the doctor? In fact, it was the doctor that spent the night at Michael Jackson's home, not Jermaine. Joe Jackson is old stressed out give him a break. The most difficult thing is loosing a child. All old school black parents whipped their kid– spare the rod loose the child |

June 29th, 2009 10:17 pm ET Joe Jackson should get a gag order put on him to be quiet. He shows no ounce of sadness, grief and your son has just past away. How absurd whats on his mind is promoting his record label. |

June 29th, 2009 10:18 pm ET I find it difficult to believe that this cardiologist didn't know that Jackson was taking Demerol/oxycontent when 2 bags full of drugs from the house today. As a friend and a physician, staying in the house, there was adequate chance for this "cardiologist" to have checked to see exactly what medications were already in Jackson's possession. It was his legal duty to have checked into that. |
|
| Pablo |
June 29th, 2009 10:18 pm ET The doctor in my opinion is negligent. Use your cell phone! Can't they find you by pings or triangulation these days? Use your cell in the first 5 or 10 mins to report the emergency. Give 911 your general location and get back to them on the specific address. Any smart person knows time is the critical factor in cardiac arrests. but, alas this so called cardiac doctor was not smart and, like I said, probably negligent. RIP Michael... |

June 29th, 2009 10:18 pm ET All the rumors are ridicoulous. I think people should stick to the facts. Any procedes or any money Micheal Jackson has should go to his children and nothing else. June 29th, 2009 10:18 pm ET You know I have heard people discuss Michael Jackson's life as tragic and I sometimes thought it was a bit of a strong word to use. But his life was indeed distressing and sad when taking the literal meaning of the word, and the world has lost a beloved son. It is strange sometimes to hear American commentators question if the world now knows how big Michael Jackson was. The fact is the rest of the world was quite aware of this fact. Michael Jackson was revered and respected more than his countrymen would ever now. He was larger than life. We love you Michael and you will be truly missed. Rest in peace – at last. |

June 29th, 2009 10:18 pm ET not sure why the record company promo was made...maybe it was a cover up for his emotons, or maybe even to switch the spotlight. Micheal had a rough life went through lots of changes and the media attacked him. Sad to see him go but better now he will be left alone. |

June 29th, 2009 10:18 pm ET Michael Jackson was a brilliant performer and an extremely talented musician. He was also a very tortured man. His death made me sad. But come on people, he wasn't the king of the world. There are other stories that warrant attention. Please are still out of jobs in this country and millions of children/people are without health insurance. At this point in the Michael Jackson story I think the media blitz is fueling the Jackson family's need for attention, drama, financial gain and ... oh, did I mention drama? It all exhausts me. |

June 29th, 2009 10:19 pm ET I watched some of the BET Awards last night and the comments that Joseph Jackson made were a little off beat.. Does anyone agree with me on that one? My first reaction was that he was too composed for a father that "loved" his son. I am not doubting "love" in his family but with everything Michael has said over the years about his father it just didn't seem that he was broken up. I know everyone grieves differently but as a parent I think I would have been a little more upset that he has shown. Also, how could he "promote" his record company? I found that to be really disrespectful. What was that? I did not think that this was the time or place for such a promotion. I am glad to hear that Catherine has gained temporary guardianship of Michael's children. I don't think that Ms. Rowe has any rights to these children now especially since they have had no dealings with her or are not known to her. It's like upsetting their world all over again. Leave them with the family that knows them and loves them. |

June 29th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Joe Jackson is a disgrace..poor Michael and the rest of the family. June 29th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Good evening Anderson, The stories coming from the Dr's lawyer (s) don't make sense. First we heard that Murray was living with Jackson, now, it seems he was asked to stay Wed night because Jackson didn't feel well. Is this supposed to be the explanation for why Murray didn't call 911 from his cell phone, because he didn't know the address. It doesn't explain the 30 minute gap to the call to 911. The CPR on a bed story: the lawyer(s) keep spinning this, one explanation has it that the bed's mattress was "firm". Another statement was that Murray had his hand behind Michael's back – which would make CPR virtually impossible wouldn't it: one-handed? It's pretty clear the doc panicked and went directly into CYA mode. Re Joe Jackson – sorry, but he seems wholly preoccupied with making money off his son in death as he did his entire life! |

June 29th, 2009 10:19 pm ET I am appalled at the statements from Michael's father. This is the time that he should be with his family. June 29th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Didn't Michael just pass a physical for his tour? And, if he did, did they check him to see if he had drugs in his system? And, I am very very sure that Michael had some sort of insurance on himself, incase anything were to happen to him his three children, would be taken care of. why, has no one been looking into something along that line? |

June 29th, 2009 10:19 pm ET Hi Anderson, i just think that Joe Jackson is a fake, he is using the press he is getting to promote his new record company. June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET I have taken CPR before and they emphasize check, call, care. Check the scene, call 911 and then care. You continue to perform CPR until the paramedics arrive. I thought I heard something about him starting and stopping and then asking a cook or maid or something to call security. Why didn't he yell for the cook to call 911 first. Also, since he was a cardiologist, why didn't he have a difibulator. I would think if a cardiologist was his primary physician then that would be something they were concerned about and a difibulator would be a neccessity. I may be naive. I love Michael Jackson. I grew up with Michael and his music and saw the influence that he had not only on music but on fashion and dance. He tried to bring all people together and I think he lived on. I hope that he truly rests in peace. |

June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET Joe Jackson is a cold-hearted gold digger. Now that Michael has passed away, Joe can take control once again as he did when Michael was a child. It is evident that Joe has no feelings of loss but grand hopes and dreams of cashing in on the royalties to follow his son’s death |

June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET Wouldn't a cardiologist have atropine in his medical bag when it sounds like he clearly had other medications with him? That medication is a first line drug in a code situation. Clearly something that a cardiologist would carry with him if he was going to have medications with him. |

June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET Is it possible that Michael Jackson was anorectic? Men are not usually affected by this, but he was very image-conscious and we know he had body dysmorphic syndrome with all the plastic surgery. His death reminds me of Karen Carpenter dying from heart failure. The reports on TV said he was wasting away, so perhaps his heart muscle was lacking necessary nutrients and minerals to keep the heart beating. |

June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET evening Anderson and Erica.... I always have a feeling of a cat near a tub full of water when I hear from Joe Jackson. I just don't like him at all. and i really hope Michael's kids don't have to be around Michael's dad too much seeing as how Michael said he was beaten by his father. i don't want them to have to deal with that too. it's too bad Michael's death is being followed up with all of this suspicion and all these questions but i hope we get some answers soon. |

June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET I, too, think that Joe Jackson is trying to use the media to advance his own interests - it is well known that his relationship with Michael was not a good one - my experience with grieving is that is done in private, not in from of the "cameras" |

June 29th, 2009 10:20 pm ET There are so many questions and strange actions taken place by his father Joe. 1. Why would Joe Jackson want to attend the awards two days after his son has died? 2. He was laughing and joking with people. He did not look like a father who just lost his son. 3. He is asked about Janet, his response was she is fine and then right into his record company. That totally blew me away. I can understand he is proud of his son. But I didnt hear his express his sorrow for the loss of his son at all. Janet, on the other hand, that poor woman, couldn't even speak. I think Joe Jackson is a very cold hearted controlling person. |

June 29th, 2009 10:21 pm ET I am extremely CONCERNED about the MJ children. Katherine Jackson got the temporary custody of the children but I cringe at the thought that those children are anywhere near Joe Jackson. I HONESTLY do NOT think Michael would have wanted his children to be raised by his dad. Joseph Jackson was a disgrace yesterday, attending a JOKE of a "tribute", dressed like a PIMP! Then he said "world lost an icon"! The he tried promoting his "record company"! No wonder MJ had such a hard life! My heart breaks for MJ and his children. I heard Debby Rowe doesn't want custody, I pray Lisa Marie seeks custody.. or BETTER YET, JANET JACKSON. |

June 29th, 2009 10:21 pm ET Putting Joe Jackson as the face/spokesperson for the family does not seem wise. Given the well known history of Michael's relationship with his father it appears unseemly to have Joe Jackson out there representing his family. Clearly he appears to be more interested in talking about his new recording company. I know he said he is "crying on the inside", however, he comes across badly in that respect. |

June 29th, 2009 10:22 pm ET Joe Jackson needs to go home and be with his family. His son just died and he's out there talking business. Yeah he really looks upset... |
|
| Jolene, St. Joseph, MI |
June 29th, 2009 10:22 pm ET The MJ story just gets more confusing as more information comes out. Bags of drugs are taken from him home; pics of him rehearsing for his tour show him looking pretty healthy. His father's weird press conference....this is all intriguing to say the least. |
|
| Iris Adams |
June 29th, 2009 10:22 pm ET MJ does not look healthy in the recent photos, compare these pics to others and he looks very thin. The lawyer for MJ's dr says his client has practiced cardiology for 20 years, then he should have used his med training to speak up and say that MJ was not able to do these shows. MJ missed 43 out of 45 rehersals, it doesn't take a doctor to realize something was not right with MJ. Iris |

June 29th, 2009 10:22 pm ET Yes you DO NOT do CPR unless someone has no pulse and isn't breathing why on earth they would wait 30mins before calling for medical help stinks more then a little. |

June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I have the same question, why would a cardiologist be called in to see one of the kids? And this Drs. attorney keeps talking about this condition that Michael had. I never heard of a condition. |
|
| Faye |
June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET From MJ's young life, his father appeared to be a contributor to what turned out to be a confused life. To be promoting a "record" company three days after a very sensational death!!!!! True people grieve differently, but my goodness promoting a business on the red carpet! |
|
| Emily |
June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I think all of Michael's doctors should make themselves known; especially if they prescribed any narcotics to him. |
|
| Lynne Murray BScNursing Victoria BC CA |
June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET Mr. Chernoff just boasted that Dr. Murray (absolutely NO relation) is a 'qualified' Cardiologist. The man did go through an internship and residency program to become qualified. He must have done at least one or two CPR procedures during his training. Why did he attempt CPR on a soft bed and not move him to the floor? More importantly Mr. Chernoff said Dr. Murray felt a weak pulse before starting CPR. Any body trained in CPR knows you DONNOT perform CPR when the victim has a heart beat. |
|
| TaLawnda |
June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET Regarding Dr. Murray, I don't feel it's ethical to accept the job as a personal physician when one is not board certified and is not a generalist. As a physician myself, I know the advances and standards of care in medicine are constantly changing, making board certification crucial in practicing good medicine. It is outside a cardiologist's realm of expertise to tend to matters of general health as these duties should be taken on by a board certified primary care physician. |

June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET Joe Jackson is a monster at best. His actions yesterday at BET and today at the conversation with Don Lemon he showed the kind of attitude that pushed Michael Jackson to be the kind of man that he turned out to be. |

June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET I do hope K.Jackson gets custody of her sons children. As for Mr Jackson he is still abusing his son in death. |

June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET There should be no father who out lives his son or daughter, smiling on camera, high-fiving people and making public appearances 3 days after his child's death, while looking so sharp and dapper. And Mr. Sharpton, please don't tell me he's grieving... |
|
| sandra |
June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET How sad it is that JJ is using his sons tragic death to cash in and try and make a record company and to announce it while he should be mourning for his son. He probably wanted to get custody of MJ`s children so he can fund his record company...that will probably flop..... after how he treated MJ growing up he certainly shows no signs of a father grieving ....RIP Michael.....you are free from the pain and suffering JJ caused you |

June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET Joe is constantly laughing and joking. Grieving please Mr. Sharpton can make all the excuses he wants for Joe. All Joe can see is dollar sign. What money can he still make off of Michael. Thank God Michael is with the angels now. Tooooo much suffering under the hands of that person. All I can thank you for Joe is for the sperm you donated. Michael talent was god given. |

June 29th, 2009 10:23 pm ET Why would the cardiologist need to see one of Jackson's children in the middle of the night? (if that is really how they met?) |

June 29th, 2009 10:24 pm ET al sharpton is trying to defend what joe did last night but i think is was clear to everyone who saw his interview with don he sold his label while the whole world is grieving the the of his son, show some class instead of how money hungry you are.R.I.P mike we luv you very much |

June 29th, 2009 10:24 pm ET IMPORTANT Why doesn't anybody talk about how, the doctors lawyer keeps adding minutes to how long it took to call 911. From 5 minutes to 20 minutes, to 25 and now 30 minutes. Even a cell phone can be tracked by 911 right? If not, a DOCTOR would now that its important to call 911, there is only so much he can do. Michael Jacksons staff took 30 minutes to call 911. Now there is something to investigate. |

June 29th, 2009 10:24 pm ET If Michael Jackson tried to give the world insight without success, as to the kind of father he had, his death and his father's bizarre behaviour (i.e, showing up at the red carpet at all places, pitching in a business venture), at a time when the world is still grieving the death of a music icon, has ultimately proved that he is a very unfeeling man whose sole desire is for money. Is Joe Jackson on crack? |
|
| robin in nj |
June 29th, 2009 10:24 pm ET why isnt anyone asking the question as to why there was no phone in his room?...why is Joe Jackson so happy?...Joe Jackson has been estranged from this family for years..he and Katherine got a divorce after Michael made it big. Joe Jackson is a using, evil, man. Why won;t anyone ask the question as to who really hired this Dr. to be at Mike's home, Come on Anderson, your a good reporter..ask the questions...something's not right. |

June 29th, 2009 10:24 pm ET that poor lawyer for dr. murry, what a job he has–to "defend" that quack doctor. is hard to keep an open mind until facts are forthcoming–seems there is never a shortage of greedy nutballs who hang around celebrities. and someone please please tell joe jackson to keep his mouth shut, how could someone who has been in and around show business all these years be so unsavy with the media. at least the talent and originality of MJ will be lasting, he was amazing. |

June 29th, 2009 10:24 pm ET I agree with the last person who talked about the moving trucks. I would you remove things when the family was coming and still at the house? |

June 29th, 2009 10:25 pm ET Jo-Ann, I do NOT buy Sharpton's story. The whole world is not that thick. There was no misunderstanding. We saw how he was dressed, his body language, his words & lack of his words. He could care less. There's a video on youtube, Michael said to Latoya "If Joseph dies would you cry or be sad.... I wouldn't cry, be sad or miss him" After seeing Joe Jackson yesterday, I understand MJ. |

June 29th, 2009 10:25 pm ET The 30 minutes the "doctor" spent performing CPR on a soft bed and going downstairs to the kitchen could have saved Michael's life! The doctor did have a cell phone and how does he not know the address he is at? This is hard to believe. And Chernoff's comment on Larry King that Michael was "lucky" that the doctor stayed overnight makes no sense. How was Michael lucky? If the doctor saved his life, yes, he would have been – but he didn't so the doctor staying there did not help Michael in any way. |
|
| cheryl korbach |
June 29th, 2009 10:25 pm ET Joe Jackson was ostensibly the underlying culprit for all of Michael's problems, so why Joe is now stepping up to the plate – what a facade. Money, in my opinion, is Joe's motive, (seemingly always has been) not the concern for Michael or Joe's other children nor Michael's. But then none of us were there to fully understand the abusive relationship that has been broadcast on the news for these 40 some odds years. Yet, I'm biased, having loved MIchael all my life, only two years older, watching him grow up and gain such phenomenal success and then endure what he has encountered. Acquitted doesn't mean innocent, but I'm in that innocent camp. Plus, I relate having suffered some abuse myself. Thus, I lean towards believing that Joe is a fruitage of the fallen angel. Very, very cruel to say, but the wrong Jackson passed. |
|
| Tia HP |
June 29th, 2009 10:25 pm ET Sharpton's explanation of Joe Jackson's self promotional media blitz is confusing and laughable. Just like the behavior of Jackson himself. What is lost in all this remains the fact that Michael Jackson was a son, brother and father as well as a tremendous, trail blazing talent. |
|
| Mimi |
June 29th, 2009 10:25 pm ET Interesting Rev. Sharpton thinks family is in mourning with Joe Jackson appearing plugging his ventures and referring to his own son as "the worlds's greatest star". Never once refers to Michael as "his son." |

June 29th, 2009 10:25 pm ET I've been an RN for 25 years in surgery. I've been BLS and ACLS certfied every 2 years of my career. (basic life support & advanced life support) Never have we waived from the basics- to have adequate chest compressions on an adult, two hands on lower sternum and get the patient on a hard surface. On bed with 1 hand under a patient's back, on a bed – never. I certainly wouldn't want him for a cardiologist. |

June 29th, 2009 10:26 pm ET Concerning what occured during Micheal Jackson's cardiac arrest, any first aide trainee would know to put him on the floor. A hard surface is required to perform CPR. What should happen next would be to call 911 which was not done. That "doctor" is negligent, paramedics, of which I am one would have a better chance to save him if called immediately. |
|
| Lulu |
June 29th, 2009 10:26 pm ET I am a Michael Jackson fan, I do not believe that he would be into drugs as profusely as what's being said. Has anyone checked why he would even have a private doctor assigned to him while he prepares for his concert? Who is behind the concert, what paperwork or agreement/s have been signed by Michael and his Manager with the organizers?? There is so much evil everywhere, look at the Madoff case?!? I strongly suggest that they look into the people behind his last contract, what did they have to do with Michael besides performing? Did they have him sign a hefty life insurance policy just in case something beyind their control happend?? Who knows?? |

June 29th, 2009 10:26 pm ET Can someone please explain to me what Al sharpton has to do with Michael Jackson? He probably never even met him. June 29th, 2009 10:26 pm ET The true travesty here is the revelation that, as often assumed, Michael was little more than a product to Joe Jackson. A profitable commodity. Michael Jackson's death is a chance for Joe Jackson to simply reintroduce the brand, with cold hopes of furthered riches. Joe Jackson is an embarrassment to our species. |

June 29th, 2009 10:26 pm ET I am so upset with MJ's father interviews this weekend. It is disgraful. No wonder he was so messed up growing up. The man died less than 3 ago and his dad is on the red carpet promoting his record company ???????? |

June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET dear Anderson love your work...regarding MJ's death..all facts are not yet in. the whole world is watching and listening but the doctor's lawyers story has more holes in it than swiss cheese. |

| Meghan |
June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET This doctor is sketchy. Every child knows to call 911 right away, why didn't he? Also, if he was found with a pulse then he was in respiratory, not cardiac arrest. But as for CPR on the bed because of how frail Jackson was, please. a few cracked ribs are better than being dead. |
|

June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET Al Sharpton is clueless! This just isn't right. A father smiling and mugging for the cameras. Slapping hands and looking like he is basking in the Something is terribly wrong here and Mr Sharpton knows it! Joe Jackson is showing his opportunistic motives a little too much. |

June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET First let me say that I believe that Janet felt compelled to come out and counter what her Idiot father had to say about them bieng GREAT and promoting his new business venture... There is no way that there was no phone to use (especially when the Good Dr. had a cell) and that he did not know the correct address to the home he had been staying at. And last: Michael will probably turn in his grave(whenever he gets there) if he thought Joe Jackson would be their care taker..... |

June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET The more that I listen to Dr. Murry's lawyer the more I see murder of M.J. I have never heard a lawyer present himself in such a confused and stumbleiing state. This guy is hurting any defense that he thought he had. I sure would not want this lawyer to defend me. |

June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET I believe people grieve in different ways, but Joe Jacksons behavior was quite embarrasing. I have sons myself, and there is no way I could have publically conducted myself in that manor. It was as if he was seeking some type of spot light. His family CANNOT approve of such behavior! |

June 29th, 2009 10:27 pm ET I am a nurse.I work in a trauma center (hospital). When a patient "codes" we don't put them on the floor. we call a code blue, and do CPR on the bed. that is the standard practice! People need to lay-off Michael Jackson's Doctor. |

June 29th, 2009 10:28 pm ET Hopefully Katherine Jackson can keep Michael's children as far away from Joe as possible, so that he doesn't try to make a buck or two off their loss. How can you go on TV and disrespect your deceased son by trying to promote your record company? |

June 29th, 2009 10:28 pm ET Unless Joe Jackson has the rights to Michaels music, I dont think Joe Jacksons record company will be getting rich any time soon. Anyone know the whereabouts of ANY will? As we watch Joe, remember, that is what type of father Michael grew up with. Not good. |

June 29th, 2009 10:28 pm ET I know that Michael is a controversial figure and despite being found not guilty, some people believe he hurt children. I hope and pray they are wrong, but I have no doubt that Michael was a victim for most of his life. The more I hear, the more frustrated I become that everyone, I mean everyone wanted a piece of him. He had far too many leeches around him. He really couldn't count on anyone. It's enough to drive anyone mad. We talk about him as if he had control. I'm convinced now he had control over nothing. Sadly, I'm now amazed he lived as long as he did. |

June 29th, 2009 10:28 pm ET @ Anderson - there is truth to the old saying "actions speak louder than words" - he may say he's grieving for Michael, but by romoting his record company, his actions seem to say otherwise. |

June 29th, 2009 10:29 pm ET I am a nurse. I am confused as to why the doctor did not call 911 from his cell phone, as they can find your location from your cell phone. It was very poor judgement to leave the victim to seek help.No security system in a multimillion dollar home? WHY didn't the chef call 911? Why did they wait to have security come to"help" some 20 min later? before the call was placed? Placing a hand under his back and using 1 hand to administer CPR is not effective. The body must be on a hard surface for the pressure to be effective. Also, the security person placing the call was very calm, too calm , in an emergent sitauation. Why didn't he say it was MJ ?instead of just " a gentleman "? |

June 29th, 2009 10:29 pm ET Okay this story is not adding up. In my opinion someone killed Michael. I dont't wanna hear Michael was thin because Michael has been thin his entire life. Those pictures from 2 nights before practicing shows that Michael was fine. My question(s) are: who else besides the doctor knows that Michael wasn't feeling well the night before? They said Michael collasped, how is that possible when he was so-called found in his bed?, A real doctor would know you can't give cpr on a bed. What kind of doctor doesn't have a cell phone for emergencies to call 911? Michael was fine, I believe someone killed him because they didn't want him to go back on tour and I hope they stay on these people just like they stayed on poor innocent Michael all these years! and please tell Joe do not be the spokes-person for this! |

June 29th, 2009 10:29 pm ET I'm glad that Katherine has custody of the children, hopefully it will stay this way. Nothing worse than a Mother losing a child; no matter what age the child is. What I want to know is what Joe Jackson thought was so great to smile about. His son is gone and yet he can smile? Your son was the King of Pop, A Legend. People all over the world are mourning him and you are smiling and talking about your record label like it's just another day for you? I'm disgusted, but I won't bash the Jackson family; for Michael and his children's sake (MIchael's). RIP in Michael, you are irreplaceable. p.s. Sorry for the book, but I had to voice my opinion |

June 29th, 2009 10:29 pm ET I am sooo glad I am not a member of a "famous" family. When my dad died I pretty much went into hiding to grieve. I couldn't have coped under the camera's glare. I barely made it through the wakes. Testimonials and positive commentaries are nice, but quiet time and personal memories are what seem to help people through the most. I guess people grieve differently, but I just find it odd that they, the family, are almost seeking the limelight through this. An awards show?, a plug for a record company? Michael hasn't even been buried yet. I don't get it, but it's to each his own, I guess. |

June 29th, 2009 10:29 pm ET whoa! After watching wall-to-wall coverage, current interviews and previous interviews w/MJ, there are way too many conflicting statements! June 29th, 2009 10:30 pm ET doesn't it seem odd that the dr. just happened to walk into Michael's bedroom and found that he wasn't breathing ? also how can you call 911 and fail to express that it's Michael Jackson that is dying at his home ( which i'm sure everybody would know the location) instead of a gentleman is not breathing! something wrong |

June 29th, 2009 10:30 pm ET LORENA -R, thanks for sharing your observations about MJ and Make a Wish Foundation. I really wonder why some people who have nothing kind to say about him want to totally ignore his charitable work. As he would say, maybe we should all look at The Man in the Mirror before we cast our stones. I agree Joe Jackson acts a little strange but I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt. Have any of the other children talked about his beating them? Perhaps I missed it. Anderson quoted him as saying he used a switch or belt. That was not uncommon years ago and few of those children who are adults today feel their parents abused them. So I am not sure what to believe. I would like to at least give him much of the credit for the Jackson 5. |

June 29th, 2009 10:30 pm ET If MJ had a pulse when he was found by the cardiologist, why did he begin CPR?? The first thing taught in CPR class is that a person with a pulse does NOT need CPR !! |

June 29th, 2009 10:30 pm ET Interesting how many people are surfacing to claim they are Michael jackson's BEST friends. All of a sudden everyone is his best friend including Dr. Murray. Murray's lawyer said earlier on CNN that Dr. was MJ's best friend, then later said "Dr. just Met michael 2 months ago. |

June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET This comment is with regard to our evaluation of Joe Jackson's behavior -– my mother died instantly of a massive heart attack almost 2 years ago. None of us can understand from the outside what is going on inside Mr. Jackson - trust me, unless you have been in that position you will never never know what it feels like. If it weren't for Joe Jackson, his family would still be poor in Gary, Indiana - he MADE them, and many of us WISH we had a father who pushed us to achieve great things. Respect what this man has done. Please. |

June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET As the Grandmother of a half African American Grandchild, I don't see any African American in the pictures of his kids. They look pretty white to me. I have doubts as to whether Micheal Jackson is truly the biological Father of those three kids. If that's the case, Debbie Row could have a real case to have custody of at least the two oldest ones. |
|
| Lucy |
June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET My opinion on Joe Jackson is he is not a grieving father. He is concerned about his own fame not to mention fortune that he made on his son's back. I came from a middle class family with 5 kids, 2 grandmothers and my parents all in one house with only my father working I don't know if we had money or not but my parents never ever lived off of us and he should be ashamed of himself. He took advantage of Michael in life and he is doing the exact same thing in death! He is not a parent he is an extortionist. May Michael rest in peace and may his children find some peace. |
|

June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET I actually feel sorry for any artists that are a part of Joe Jackson's record company. It was a very poor taste for him to promote his record company when he should be grieving his son's death. I'm betting this stunt will hurt his sales in the long run.... |

June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET what is the children's understanding of their biological situation? i.e. do they know who their mother is...and why she is not in their lives? |
|
| Cory |
June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET I still feel that Joe Jackson's behavior is just a glimpse of how Michael's life was and why he could never find peace and happiness. The truth behind Joe Jackson is the fact that it is "all business" and the kids have been and always will be just pawns for his narcissistic ways. It is pathetic really and GOD WILLING Michael's children will not be turned over to Joe. |

June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET Hello! Everyone! Happy Monday-although I'm so totally gonna miss all of you. I'm travelling overseas again for a week. I may not be able to blog but I will sure be watching you, Anderson! IIt's always sad to have kids be left alone. More so when you really don't know family THAT well. I wish them well. The good news is that they will be around family. It will hard and a long process for the biological mother to be granted custody since her rights have been terminated. The three kids should remain together. |

June 29th, 2009 10:31 pm ET I hope Michael's children do go to his mother and hopefully away from Joe. Those children should be around someone who loves them and their father with no strings or personal agendas attached. She appears to be just that. |

June 29th, 2009 10:32 pm ET Joe Jackson's behavior today was pretty shameful – how can he justify even mentioning some business venture after the death of his son?The Jacksons have always seemed to have a tense relationship with Joe and his actions today probably didn't help much – he's always seemed to resent their success and the fact that his role in bringing them to the public eye has been diminished somewhat through the years. |

June 29th, 2009 10:32 pm ET There's something eerie about Joe Jackson. I believe he should no longer be the spokesperson for the family. He should step aside and leave it to Rev Al to speak for the family or for someone more eloquent to speak for them. |

June 29th, 2009 10:32 pm ET I am horrified that the children are living with Joe, the very monster who terrified his own children. I am scared for them and hope that Debbie will step up to save her children from being exposed to their grandfather. |

June 29th, 2009 10:32 pm ET @ Anderson - do we know if their nanny is with them? Other than Michael, their nanny seems to be the one to whom the children had the most stable relationship. |

June 29th, 2009 10:32 pm ET Also...they need to lay off the doctor and stop trying to be crazy....Joe Jackson already lived off his children his whole life....im sure that he will be just fine with all the money that he will continue to make off his children and doesnt need to go after a doctor. If michael had in fact been abusing anything it was partially the fault of the phychological effects of being abused by his father not the fault of a doctor. |

June 29th, 2009 10:33 pm ET At the BET red carpet talking to CNN, Joe Jackson, MJ's father said that he thinks the world would have recognized him when he was living ..and that right now he is bigger than ever now...." Why do famous icons get more spotlight and recognition when they pass away? Does the passing away of heroes always make people think that they never get the same amount of honor when they were alive? |

June 29th, 2009 10:33 pm ET The children are the living legacy of MJ and if the world were to here the oldest son talk about his dad I think it's something the world can hold on to as a living part of Michael. For now they need privacy but one day the fans will want to hear from him. It's just like when Lisa Marie talked ablut her dad. |

June 29th, 2009 10:33 pm ET It seems that Joe Jackson is out for Joe Jackson and using Michael's death to further his own pursuits. Janet should seek custody of the children – she will not seek to exploit the children and can bring them up in a more normal environment – away from day to day interaction with Joe Jackson |
|
| Penny Buckman |
June 29th, 2009 10:33 pm ET I listened with great interest as AC talked to Michael Jackson's lawyer – any medical student, nursing student, resident physician, registered nurse – essentially any one who has taken basic life support or advanced life support knows that you only do CPR on a FLAT SURFACE – either the floor or using a back board (that is available on code carts in any hospital. It sounds like the lawyer is speaking legalese which obviously sounds believable but truly is not. |

June 29th, 2009 10:33 pm ET The best case Debbie Rowe could have for custody is putting Joe Jackson's interviews in front of the court. A crazy old man, clearly not competent and clearly with his own agenda in the guardianship of the children. Bless these children. |

June 29th, 2009 10:34 pm ET Anderson: Two things 1) who was the man who called 911while the doctor was trying to revive Michael Jackson? 2) MJ recorded a song "Childhood". The words to that song fit his life while growing up. Listen to the words. Thank you Anderson. |

June 29th, 2009 10:34 pm ET It would make sense to give custody to the other biological parent but one has was delivered by a surrogate, the other two have a mom but which kind of mother would leave their children? Besides, they don't have a relationship with their mother! I guess they are ok with the nanny or the Jackson grandmother. |

June 29th, 2009 10:34 pm ET I tune into this program for hard news. Wall to wall Michael Jackson is kind of a turn off. I don't think it is appropriate for a serious news program. June 29th, 2009 10:35 pm ET It is evident in Joe Jackson's demeanor he was detached from Michael and is throwing daggers at him even in his death i.e. "kids can now get an education and they never play with other kids" etc. |

June 29th, 2009 10:35 pm ET The "Rev" Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and ESPECIALLY Joe Jackson should be ASHAMED of themselves. ASHAMED. No wonder Michael Jackson had so many internal issues and problems. I COULD NOT IMAGINE being raised by a man such as Joe Jackson. Al Sharpton couldn't even directly answer the question as to why Joe Jackson was promoting his new company on a red carpet when his child isn't even buried. Evil, evil, man. In no way, shape or form should Joe Jackson be given any rights or control to Michael Jackson's estate. Michael Jackson loved his music and work deep in his soul. That, at least, is one thing Joe Jackson could never take away from his son. He took his innocence. He took his self-esteem. He took his childhood. Truly Rest in Peace Michael Jackson. Your heart and soul deserve it. |

June 29th, 2009 10:35 pm ET I keep hearing about the mother being given custody of the children but lets understand she's in her 70's and the father is 80. How is she going to be able to take care of children that age. The court should be looking at someone for this responsible. |

June 29th, 2009 10:35 pm ET How can anyone think we are being hard on "Crazy" Joe Jackson...thats what the kids used to call him in old issues of Jet and Ebony in the 70's. Joe always wanted the spotlight. The sad thing is that such a loving tortured soul, who was so talented is gone, and 3 kids hav lost their father. All Joe lost was a monthly check...All the problems that Mike had came fromhis father..I feel no pity for him. He deserves everything negative he has comming to him for what he did to ALL of his children... |

June 29th, 2009 10:36 pm ET This Michael jackson is far from over–OR will it be over? I highly doubt it. There are people who still believe that Elvis is still alive,or the continous fascination of the assasination of JFK, the shooting of John Lennon, and even the sudden death of Princess Diana. He, too will forever live in our hearts. He was a great entertainer indeed. |

June 29th, 2009 10:36 pm ET Anderson Thank you for your blog about Joe Jackson. It would appear that the majority of the blog agrees with you. I don't know how Michael's estate and children can avoid being a circus and very expensive with lawyers, |

June 29th, 2009 10:36 pm ET I understand people are questioning Joe Jackson promoting his DVD business, but what I can also understand is that someone who has had the responsibility of raising 9 children like he had will push a person to constantly be thinking of ways and to be creative to find ways to bring in income for his family. I think the responsibility he had with all these children has shaped this way into thinking that he's always got to be pushing and finding ways to support his family and mentioning his DVD business was just natural for him to keep moving, keep supporting his family. I admire his work ethic and his business sense in order to support his family, I don't see anything wrong with what he did. |

June 29th, 2009 10:37 pm ET It is apparent he had some self-esteem issues, but honestly who doesn't? Especially when they are in the public eye from a very young age. That doesn't take anything from his musical and creative genius. |

June 29th, 2009 10:37 pm ET I think Michael Jackson loved his mother dearly and would fully trust her to care for his children. With all the spotlight on them there is no way that anyone in the Jackson would abuse them. My only concern would be Mrs. Jackson's age. There should be a second person named to care for them just in just case she becomes unable to continue to do so. I work in the social services field and we do this with elderly kinship adoptive parents. |
|
| Suzanne |
June 29th, 2009 10:37 pm ET I am revolted by the apparent indifference of Michael's father. While the world mourns Michael's passing, his father is out there promoting his company, no hint of tenderness or sadness towards Michael. Even after his death, Michael's father is still trying to profit from his son. How sad! |
|
| Janice |
June 29th, 2009 10:37 pm ET Joe Jackson does not in any way appear to be grieving the lose of his son. Michael died way too young, and unexpected. As a parent, I would be beside myself, unable to speak to the public without sobbing. Jackson's father states he wishes Michael had had the same attention in life as he does now in death. Michael stayed out of the limelight for many years now. This outpoour of grief would have been equally matched by an outpour of fans estactic reaction to him having gone on tour much sooner. I'd like to say, being that I am the same age as Michael Jackson, what I experienced growing up, I did to Jackson's music. From my love of the art of music, to my first crush, first kiss, first true love, first heartache. Fly with the angels Michael. |

June 29th, 2009 10:37 pm ET The doctor's lawyer is being evasive. Either that or he is misinformed by his client and doesn't know better. Any emergency room physician can spot huge holes in his story. What do you call a doctor who finished last in his class? Sadly, the answer is....a doctor. In this case, it would be a nonboard certified cardiologist. Shame on him. He should have carried naloxone on him at all times as he must have been aware of Mr. Jackson's drug dependance. That poor man surrounded himself with a bunch of idiots. |

June 29th, 2009 10:37 pm ET Kelly Martinez – Sharpton is a known "family friend" but I agree with you, his interest are only when it is most advantageous for him. Anderson – though Joe Jackson is 79/80, I agree with how you feel. At that age he know very well how he is doing, and if he really thirsted for Michael's love – Stacye Mehard – why wouldn't he just say it now. Sympathy at this hour is better advertisement then strength. |

June 29th, 2009 10:38 pm ET I am upset about judge granting the custody to the grand mother. How can they forget that Michael had said that he was abused by his father. His mother was there when Michael was abused. How do we know that his children will not suffer the same fate in that house |

June 29th, 2009 10:38 pm ET The thing that stuns me is that last night, and again at today's press conference, Joe had a PR rep at his side. What competent PR rep does not put a stop to Joe bringing his business partner up to the mike to discuss their new "venture" when the man's dead son is not yet in the ground!?! This is just beyond the pale, even for Joe (a man never in danger of being nominated for Father of the Year). |

June 29th, 2009 10:38 pm ET There's a lot of lies! First of all if M.J. had pulse upon arrival of EMS and while trying to contact help; why didn't dispatcher ask if pulse was present? Why were compressions started? Shouldn't they have been concentrating on respiratory arrest rather than cardiac arrest? He need proper ventilation! Regardless of what the toxicology report shows, both the dispatcher and the doctor were negligent! I bet the Lungs show morphine. |

June 29th, 2009 10:39 pm ET I just find it strange that Joe Jackson would even mention his record company when asked about the death of his son. In my opinion, when you lose your son, promoting your record company should be the last thing on your mind. I also don't buy Al Sharpton's explanation. |

June 29th, 2009 10:39 pm ET Thanks for asking Deepak about the Lupus comment he'd made. The disease takes time to declare itself. Even the antibodies called "lupus anticoagulant" can be the only manifestation of the disease – causing miscarriages and cardiac issues without overt classic symptoms. |

June 29th, 2009 10:40 pm ET From what is reported, there are questions about medical emergency, 911 response, but what are the findings of the actual investigation? How long before that comes out? Deepak Chopra is exactly right, Michael Jackson a great singer, dancer, performer who could put you into an ecstatic state. I agree his singing cut right through to your heart. |

June 29th, 2009 10:40 pm ET I don't think we will ever get to the bottom of this. It has turned into a 3 ring circus .The doctor didn't know what address? Cell phone? Even if there was no hard line phone, Wireless Phase 2 technology and 911 technology would have able to find the address , it might have taken a little bit of time, but it would have been less than 30 mins under the circumstances. Anderson, and folks, the pieces are just not adding up and again, I don't think we will ever know the full truth. Only Michael does. And his Father, well I have no comment about him. It isn't nice at all. |

June 29th, 2009 10:40 pm ET Anderson, please ask this question on the air – it's very important to get it answered: Just as Deepak just mentioned Michael had been surrounded by a bunch of "enablers" who was taking advantage of his helpless condition, who pressured him to do things he didn't want to do (such as doing 50 concerts instead of th 10 he agreed to) and probably druged him to keep him under their control. If this is really so, what can be done to bring those people to justice and can they be charged with murder? |

June 29th, 2009 10:41 pm ET @Heather – Spokane, WA Somebody was mentioning that today on CNN in an interview with Ms Rowe. A dna test will probably be done; especially if there is a coroner's inquiry. |

June 29th, 2009 10:41 pm ET The theme for that song is very Buddhist in nature. Small mind vs big mind and that everything is connected. Namaste means the light in me sees the light in you and we also know that you are what you eat. I find it interesting that he asked Deepak for assistance on it because he is connected in the Eastern traditions. This would have been an interesting video/song. |

June 29th, 2009 10:41 pm ET Joe Jackson is a money hungry man. He ruined his children's life by pushing them in the lime light. Poor Michael never had a childhood, never had a REAL life. He was pushed to the brink...Joe Jackson has no grief...he is not in shock his eyes are in the symol of dollar signs once again and wants to make sure he gets his share. Terrible...Terrible man. |

June 29th, 2009 10:41 pm ET MJ's DR keeps saying he is a cardiologist and knows what to do. Why then did he not call for help initially as outlined in AHA hand book. Next if he had a pulse why CPR instead of rescue breathing? This so called DR failed MJ and as it will be found is responsible |

June 29th, 2009 10:41 pm ET My heart goes out to Jacko's family, and especially his kids. I hope they live a good life and are not bothered too much by their celebrity of their father. That said, I think the media should be giving the family privacy after the funeral and move on to other stories. I think it's outrageous there is such much focus on him today when we have other major events going on around the nation. |

June 29th, 2009 10:42 pm ET I'm glad you are still covering Michael, he deserves it. I was also glad to hear Katherine gained custody. The kids need to be with their family who love them and loved Michael. In the future Janet would be ideal to raise MJ's kids, she loved her brother the most and he loved her. RIP MJ, you were loved on earth and that will not change now. |

June 29th, 2009 10:42 pm ET I think Michael Jackson's father seems as though he's careless about his son dying and only wants to promote his record company. Janet Jackson seems truly heartbroken by this. |

June 29th, 2009 10:42 pm ET I am overcome with grief watching what is going on with Michael even now in death. I just wish that people would give his children the respect and space to grieve their father. We are seeing him as an Idol but his children lost a father, one who cared very much for them. I also think that we have waited a little too late to give him what he deserved. My sympathy goes out to his children and his entire family. May he rest in peace. Long live the King! |

June 29th, 2009 10:42 pm ET I am not so sure that I believe anything that the attorney for the doctor has said. He stated that Dr. Murry did not know of Michael's former doctor and that he was only his doctor since May 2009. But then the attorney said that Dr. Murray and Mr. Michael Jackson were friends for years....... Well then if that were the case, why did his "friend", Dr. Murray not know who Michael's physician was or what medication he was taking??? Something does not seem right with that story... |
|
| Jan |
June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET That's right folks, Joe Jackson hasn't lost a child, this is why he is walking around trying to make money off this dead child account. |

June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET You need to contact the American Heart Association. Unless Mr. Jackson weighed less than 40 lbs you would not do CPR with one hand, or with your hands encircling his chest. Much less on a "bed". If there was no phone in that room which I find hard to believe – he should have immediately run to another room and called for help – even to the guard shack. |

June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET STACYE and LOUISE–Thanks for your comments and I agree totally with both of you. My friend lost her son and two days later she went to a concert he was planning to attend and sat in his seat. Some weeks later, she just totally fell apart. Everyone grieves differently; rest assured Joe Jackson will grieve in his way. I am dumbfounded by the nasty comments posted about Michael but we should have some respect for his father at this time as well. |

June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET Could it be that Joe Jackson is cracking under pressure... That the MJ's ghost, per se? Guilty conscience? June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET After the remarks made by Joe Jackson, it is clear that he is not straight in the head. Perhaps he is distraught and can't make his thoughts clear, but promoting your own endeavors during this difficult time for your family isn't the sign of a father who is grieving the loss of his son. |

June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET Anderson – Thank you for asking why did the Cardiologist have Michael on the bed while administering CPR. A EMT had to tell him to place him on a flat surface. (Makes little sense since he is a trained Cardiologist.) |

June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET I really do not think Michael's kids should go to a home that thier father said was abusive. In so many interviews, Michael talked of his father's abuse. Has anything changed. This Joe Jackson is only concerned about his new record deal..... he did not even acknowledge that he lost his son. All he wants is attention. |
|
| Anna - Canada |
June 29th, 2009 10:43 pm ET Deepak Chopra just said that because of the physical and emotional abuse that Michael suffered, he became a "self mutilator" through plastic surgery. I'd like to know why he would then say that Michael's children should be with the very cause of Michael's problems – his abusive father and the silent mother. |
|
| Karen |
June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET My sincere condolences to the children of Michael Jackson. May God guard and guide them throughout their lives. Their father was a major talent that loved them totally and completely. It is my hope that Michael's father (Joe Jackson) is far, far removed from them–he is unbelieveable–his method of child rearing has created a family of barely functioning humans. How Michael survived him is beyond me!!! Also, it would be wonderful if Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson could remove themselves from these forums. We all know that Michael was a black man–Michael, however, was able to love beyond the color of his skin. I'm not certain they have that capacity. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET am still glued to the television on michael jackson coverage...am still saddened by his death..the cause of death won't change the way i felt about him as a person and as an artist..the LORD will sit down and talk with him about his life on earth, about what good he did for folks and for some poor choices (by our perception)he may have made. ultimately i hope he finds comfort in the hands of God and finally know that he is really loved.. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET Greetings Anderson & those who read this. In my opinion, it is too bad the children have never been around other children. They need to be introduced to the world they live in and not Michael's world. It's extremely sad that they will have to live on without their father but it's not sad that they now have an opportunity to be socialized. I'm not sure their grandmother is the right person to do that. Isn't there a married family member with children who would step up to take on responsibility for these three kids. They need a lot of psychological help to learn how to be with others if it is true that their world has been so small and sheltered. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET I am saddened at the loss of Micheal Jackson. I feel for his family very much. He was a kind and gentle man, who had a heart of gold. May God take care of him as he is now home. As for the care of his children, they should be in the care of his mother Katherine as she would be the better choice. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET my heart aches for micheal jackson.he has had so much pain sadness and heartache in his life.my comment is that its a shame mr.joe jackson always has money on his mind,he needs to realize he wouldnt have what he does if it werent for micheal.micheal had said on a oprah show that maybe his father thought of him as his 'GOLDEN CHILD'.and thats exactly what he was for him.mr.jackson needs to realize and think for once that what happened to micheal, the pain and sadness and drug use could be because of him his true colors are finally showing.i love micheal and always will.i always enjoyed his music,i will miss him for ever.may god bless you.R.I.P. jeannie. colorado |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET I am a 51 yr old woman who grew up with Michael Jackson, and the Jackson 5. I have always sided with Michael given his background. I am a recovering addict (24 years now) and had also been abused in my lifetime. I have a good understanding of what he went through in his life. More importantly, I think everyone needs to remember Michael for what he gave to the world...his wonderfully inovative music, his gift of dance, and the fact that he was an ambassador for many causes. Celebrate the good and remember him for what he gave to us all. I am deeply saddened for this tragedy. God bless and rest in peace, dear Michael. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET Wouldn't the smartest thing be to open up Neverland as our Graceland? Revamp, renew, polish it up, add the artifacts, awards etc. and charge admission. People would go everyday. AND if he was buried there....priceless. A place for every fan to go visit. Seems like a no-brainer. Proceeds go to the children. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET something is extremely fishy ans suspicious about Micheal's cardiologist! You cannot perform CPR to a 50-year old man-no matter how skinny he is- with one hand and putting the second hand on his back!!! Hello! |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET Jackson's personal cardiac doc. had to be one of the ranks of "enablers". Deepak said in so many words that if u didn't pony up the meds, you were out. Why would he hire this personal Dr. for the whole tour if he wasn't on the "give"? He better get that attorney, in fact he better hire 10 more. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET im going to miss michael so much. i have alot of stuff of him. Its so sad that he was so sad and when he loved the world. He deserved to be loved. He was the kindest person , why are people still putting him down when he has died i dont understand it, people need to let him live in peace for once in his life, and remember how much he touch the world so much. I cry all the time, gosh i cant believe he is gone. It think his father is callus. He needed to share more emotion then what he did. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET MJ's DR Killed him by not doing proper CPR. He didn't know the address to call an ambulance? He couldn't find help in the house? He didn't know MJ had a drug adiction even though MJ admitted it? This DR is dirty with MJ's Blood I hope they hang him |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET It is said that God takes away his most cherished sooner than the others. Guess he could not wait any longer. MICHAEL reigned as the King of Pop but he leaves this stage, moonwalking unto another, as The Emperor of Entertainment! He can never ever fade away but will live on beyond the end of time! I have two epithets for our beloved Michael – "The Emperor of Entertainment" and "World Citizen" |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET I was not aware that the cardiologist was NOT Board Certified! In today's medical community,if you are not Board Certified you should probably not be in practice for your specialty. Having assisted several physicians with organizing all of the material required for Certification,i know how difficult it is to get the Certification. Drs. have to provide case studies, all test results (a lot of paper work) and then they have to pass oral exams. It is VERY important that lay people know that their specialty physicians should be Board Certified so that they know that the level of knowledge and patient treatment is excellent. |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET Hi Anderson! Is there more to this? |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET A parents worst nightmare is to outlive their child. Joe Jackson seemed to be unneffected by this sudden tragedy.. All he seemed to be focused on was using this time, not to reflect back on Michael Jackson's life, but instead use the time to promote his own record company.. R.I.P MJ |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET It is reprehensible that Joe Jackson is speaking publicly on behalf of Michael's legacy: he was the perpetrator of the abuse Michael suffered as a child that resulted in such severe emotional pain: it is an outrage |

June 29th, 2009 10:44 pm ET Everyone thinks that its strange the father is promoting his new company but lets be honest thats the reason Michael Jackson fired his father 20 years ago. He wanted to pull all the strings. He pulled them to become the Jackson 5 and out of that Michael Jackson the superstar but it was all about the dollar for him and now that Michael is gone, he's trying to step back into the lime light. |

He's now getting what he deserved when he was living. It's about time! "Let's Dance!" |

June 29th, 2009 10:45 pm ET If Michael had a will, why was it not presented at the court today? My thoughts and prayers go to the Jackson family, especially to Michael's mother and children. |

June 29th, 2009 10:45 pm ET Re: Michael Jackson's death: As a former psychiatric nurse, the confluence of impending extremely high expectations, and emotional frailty, and his seeming high energy and unusual freedom on the last night of his life all lend themselves to a possibility that he had decided to end his life at this moment, and was orchestrating his last appearance. |

June 29th, 2009 10:45 pm ET It is still so hard to believe that he is gone. What I find bizzarr is his dad walking around smile and promoting his new ventures as if nothing has happen. I believe what Micheal said about the way they were treated by Joseph. It is very sad. |

June 29th, 2009 10:45 pm ET As far as dialing 911 from a cell phone, technology, depending on where you live, can narrow your addres down to blocks or your call will go to the closest cell tower and usually ends up at the local highway patrol office. . You have to call from a landline phone (house phone) in order for the address to automatically populate for the dispatcher. |

June 29th, 2009 10:45 pm ET Did anyone other than the children stand to gain financially from Michael's death. From what has been said by doctors and physical trainers he was in fairly good health. June 29th, 2009 10:45 pm ET I beleive there is more than meets the eye with Micheals death, much like his life. I beleive he was a fabulous performer, he brought dance to another level, and he should be remembered for his greatness. I also think he was very misunderstood, that the allegations made against him about pedophilia were FALSE, that he was blackmailed for a lot of money. I just hope his children do not have too much exposure to the media right now, they are children and they deserve to be protected and happy. God Bless Micheal, may he rest in peace. My condolences to his family, friends and most of all his 3 beautiful children. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET I believe that Jackson has been overdosed by some type of a drug and perhaps maybe have done it on purpose because of maybe some stress he's been having with getting ready for his concerts or something and so that is why he had doctor murray stay over night because Jackson knew that he's going to be needing "assistance" because maybe Jackson had planned to overdose himself, but again we all never what exactly happen because its Michael Jackson. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET Michael Jackson was used and abused by his father, and by people he thought were his friends. This is why he lived his life in seclusion. I find it sad that someone with all of that genius lived such a tragic life. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET Anderson, My other concern, everyone knows that celebrity gets immediate attention, why on earth wouldn't the 911 caller scream out, MICHAEL JACKSON ISN'T BREATHING???????? His nonchalant, "we have a man here not breating...." combined with the ridiculous account of a supposed doctor who does CPR with one hand behind his back on a bed.....does anyone else see the holes or what?????? |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET Joe Jackson is all about himself. When asked how the family was doing, his remark was "everyone was doing fine". Doing fine, I don't think so. Look at Janet last night at the BETA show, she clearly was not doing fine. Joe's family is greiving and in a state of shock, maybe he should be home comforting his family instead of promoting his recorder company. He is a dirty bag! |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET I am originally from Ethiopia and growing up, Michael was also a part of most families. He was the music we knew and the life of any part. Even today, in most parties you expect to hear his music and dance with it, he brought happiness in a true sense and brought people together. Thank you for your in depth coverage. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET I'm glad the children are with their grandmother but I hope Joe has limited access to them. All he seems to care about is the money and his production company – he talks more about that than Michael. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET I think Michaels children will be very happy with their Grandmother and the rest of the family. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET Joe Jackson doesn't seem to even care for what happened to Michael. For him is business as usual. What a father! The doctor... that is fishy ... every day they are coming out with something new and different. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET Listen to what the doctor's lawyer said. He said the doctor never "prescribed" Demerol and Oxycontin to Michael Jackson. That doesn't mean that he never administered those drugs to him. |

June 29th, 2009 10:46 pm ET Michael was the best Entertainer of our time and should be judged by his body of work and his contributions to our lives. I feel he was a reflection of us , our society, as ugly or wonderful that we are. He was always trying his best to please us....................... |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET My comment is a question. If MJ had a pulse, was his heart still beating? If so, why give him CPR? Why would a cardiologist give him CPR on a bed when he should have been on a hard surface? |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET Hi, I have never been on a blog, so please have patience, I hope that Michael's kids are not seperated., loosing a parient is devastating, for kids hopefully they remain together and no judge would have the heart to sepeate these kids, |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET i would like too know if the doctor is such a friend, and he did not do any thing. then why can't he get on tv like everybody else and speak his peace. why his lawyer doing all the talking?/ |

| Hasan |
June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET Clearly after watching the interview with the doctor's lawyer, I just cant believe a word out of his mouth. For some reasons I get this feeling the doctor wanted to see MJ die. I dont know why though but his father was sure happy about it over at the BET awards this past weekend. Truly, Michael was an huge icon and I believe he asked for prescriptions for Demerol and all other painkillers is because of the emotional pain he is in. Probably from the media, all the controversies surrounding him, and his father abuse over the years. MJ wanted to heal the universe, he had this connection with children and he tried his best to help them out, that explains his never-land ranch. My prayers go to his family, may he rest in peace. |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET Michael was a beautiful Black man and it hurt me to see him mutilate himself. He was a musical genius with a tortured soul. I pray he RIP. With all of his accomplishments, I don't think he reached his full potential. I was ready for the rebirth of Michael: MJ Part 2. |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET Someone stated earlier..about not giving CPR with a pulse...that's correct..you check for a pulse..if you get a pulse, you just give air..not compressions..what gives with this Doctor..he shuld know that.. |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET I think it is good for the Jackson family to have custody of the children, I just hope that Joe Jackson doesn't verbally or abusively abuse the children like he did with his own kids. Also it seems like all that Joe Jackson wants to do is put forth his future so he thinks instead of saying how much he misses his son Michael, he is worried about becoming famous. My prayers go out with the family and friends that were so close to Michael, and this whole world and universe will truly miss him. |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET We lost a Great Entertainer, that gave so much of himself to all of us, and I wish, we all could realize that its now our time to give back, and let him rest in peace, God Bless his children and I pray that they will be alright, and stay proud of the man they knew as Dad...... |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET Hi Anderson, Great show by the way, but I'm very sadden by the fact that a father would bank on a son's death. Anyone with eyes or ears can see and hear what he's all about. So sad that the Reverend would agree with him or play stupid. Everytime Mr. Jackson's opens his mouth he tarnishes the little bit of relationship the world believes he had with his son. |

June 29th, 2009 10:47 pm ET I am so very thankfull for the grace of Michael Jackson to the human race, and the music industry. I strongly feel the children are safe with their mother, she was quite a possitive strong figure of love in Michaels life. I truly feel he was a victim of his genuine loving kindness and innocence. He wore his heart on his sleeve! I wish the world would learn the good things, instead of the harsh cruel judgemnets upon his character. He trusted children because he felt he could, they are not so concerned with themselves and their hangups, and getting smashed to enjoy life and creation. He was spiritual and serene when he was alone. Rest in peace Michael. |

June 29th, 2009 10:48 pm ET How can the courts give any kind of custody to the mother of Michael Jackson when his father (who abused him) is in the same residence? How did he not have a will to state where he wanted his children to go? |

June 29th, 2009 10:48 pm ET Mr. Cooper, THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for discussing the LUPUS that Micheal dealt with! I have watched family members succomb to this very painful, incurable disease.!!!!Doctor's dont know what to do with it except prescribe pain killers. But I do believe that you talking to his lawyer today told the truth of what happened to Michael. He was a kind person who was used and abused by the very same people that he invested EVERYTHING into. I am SOOO glad that he had kids because they are the only thing that he had that loved him without judgement. People dont understand that sometimes its easier to be around kids than grown folks! |

June 29th, 2009 10:48 pm ET I have taken CPR and also how to use a defibrillator devise to shock the heart.. The defibrillator is an expensive medical devise. Surely the doctor had one one these. This devise increases the change of survival more then CPR. Check with the Red Cross about this. |

June 29th, 2009 10:48 pm ET It's so sad that this phenomenal entertainer, who impacted this planet with such a "force"...came to this lonely end, and from the reports, pretty much alone,...and truly I suppose met his end from a "broken heart"! He seemed to have this sweet spirit about him. He seemed to love his children, but there was always this "hole" in his heart, his very soul actually. He just needed "the love" he yearned for as a child, from his unrelenting father. I was disgusted by Joe Jackson's "remarks" at the BET awards last night. He seemed to have a problem with acknowledging that it was his "son", his "child"...NOT the "biggest star in the universe", though he might have been, Michael wanted a "father"...and he died without one! |

June 29th, 2009 10:49 pm ET Michael Jackson was a living legend. Having said that, legends never die! Most of us may not ever be able to relate to his lifestyle but some can empathize with his difficult uncanny upbringing. Although he as a musical genius and talented artist, it was obvious he was a tormented soul. Despite the darkness that may be revealed in the weeks to come, his fans will never care. He was the last great all time entertainer! He was instantaneously missed and his memory will continue to in the minds, hearts and souls of all of his fans and his family. |

June 29th, 2009 10:49 pm ET This last weekend there was a special on MTV that only focused on music and in career of the Michael Jackson. Nowhere there was nothing about the scandals, of the confusions or of the controversy of his life. It was so beautiful and so cool to watch! |

June 29th, 2009 10:49 pm ET Why did MJ have a cardiologist on staff to begin with? What is his medical history? When the comedian Richard Pryor caught fire from doing crack, it brought on MS. Did MJ have another medical problem that was costing him $100,000 in medication costs over several years? Even stars cannot afford thier medical costs. We need universal health care for everyone. |

June 29th, 2009 10:49 pm ET Anderson Cooper, I just seen the interview that you did with Conrad's attorney. I find it very difficult to believe that someone in Conrad's professional field didn't perform the proper procedure in performing CPR. In my opinion, foul play is truly involved where this doctor is concerned. |
|
| Nancy |
June 29th, 2009 10:49 pm ET The doctor's lawyer is doing more harm than good (for the doctor). He should've just stayed off the air. He's actually raising MORE suspicions about the "doctor". IMO, MJ didn't know anything about this doctor, other than he was a black guy that he liked. And then the lawyer saying the doctor doesn't know if MJ fired his regular doctor - wouldn't the new doctor want the medical records...??? |

June 29th, 2009 10:49 pm ET I think that MJ's children will have a hard time coping with losing their dad because Michael Jackson has had a big legacy. It will always be hard not to be upset about this subject when MJ's kids think about him. Plus, MJ's children didn't get to see MJ at his last moment. They will miss him very much. I hope that MJ's children find a good guardian. : ] |

June 29th, 2009 10:50 pm ET I feel great respect and grief for the friends and family of Michael Jackson. That said, I feel that CNN is using this sad event to secure higher ratings and to dispense questionalbe information. Certainly the story deserves daily reporting but the constant stories and the inuendo is becoming poor news casting and enough enough!!!!! I thnk that out of respect for the family CNN should back off on the Jackson story. Let spin doctors like Nancy Grace take the story and return, Anderson Cooper, to the important news of the day. |

June 29th, 2009 10:50 pm ET Erica, I don't mean any harm, but we could at least mention Farrah's service has been reported as occuring tomorrow. Farrah was a person top. I am disappointed that CNN has not mentioned that once tonight. While I am very intrigued by Michael Jackson, I don't think Michael would have liked the fact that we did not pay proper honor to another American icon that was very much loved as well. |

June 29th, 2009 10:50 pm ET I am so devasted about Micheal Jacksons death. He was such a great and amazing person that will never be forgotten no matter how hard we all try. No words can explain the pain and sorrow i feel about micheal. But i know that he is in a better place now..heaven. Another thing that has rubbed me the wrong way lately is that micheal father seems so careless about his son death. The stunt he pulled on the red carpet was uncalled for. And i could careless that he tried to apologize about it. it was so uncalled for and it hurts me alot to see that. i hope micheals kid's stay with his grandmother permently bc everyone else right now is not on the level they shoud be. If anything let the nanny take custody over them... |

June 29th, 2009 10:50 pm ET Michael Jackson will always be remembered as an icon, and it's amazing to see so many people all over the world celebrate his life. He was also such a complex human being-I want to play the devil's advocate , and ask why the news hasn't really brought up his complications with children and his alleged pedophilia issues? ( I'm assuming it's out of respect,) I've seen so many videos of MJ this past weekend ( which has been great) and his biography – but nothing about his BIG ISSUES. I think it should be brought up! Thanks Anderson! Love, |

June 29th, 2009 10:50 pm ET Please get someone from the red cross to say the DR didn't follow protocol. When you are alone you get help 1st then begin CPR. He is a cardiologist and knew what to do is bull. BTW what was he doing treating the kids 2 years ago is he also a pediatrician? His lawyer looked like a deer in headlights. We will probaly never know the full scope but I can tell you this DR contributed to his death no doubt. Everyone knows you call for ACLS to get 1st line meds like epi etc... why did this guy wait? If security was in the house you would think a yell from MJ's room would have brought them all running. Why are we not talking to all the people that were in the house? Cooks, security...the guy that actually made the 911 call. I would love to hear what they say |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET I feel so bad, that Michael had such a unhappy life. He gave so much to all of us that grew up with him. I lived very close to the Jackson's in Encino and use to see them at Gealson's market ever so often. What a darling kid. What a good looking young man. How he must have hated himself. Maybe, he is at peace now. There is no way he took advantage of those young kids, no way! ! It is also ashame that so many evil people took advantage of them. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET I do believe that the entire Jackson family except Joe Jacskon is mourning. Joe Jackson is a disgrace to his family. Joe stated "I wished Michael was here to see all of this." UH! I wish Michael was here to see Joe. Some has said that Michael had some serious mental and social issues, remember the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. What is Joe's problem? He is far gone. At this point, Joe should take responsibility for scaring his son for life. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET It's been five days and I am still stunned over the loss of Michael Jackson. Guess growing up with him and listening to him music as he evolved....never considered that he wouldn't age right along with me. Joe Jackson – I see he is classy as ever. How about a tear or two...fake it if you need to. Katherine Jackson – at least the children will be with family for the time being. That has to be comforting to them during this confusing time. My heart breaks for them. Dr. Murray – just odd how everything went down. I can't decide exactly what his role has been, but something is definitely heinky. Not sure I'll ever really understand the life of Michael....the new bits that are discovered each day continue to sadden me. Who know that the King of Pop was suffering so. I pray he has found peace finally. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET Hello everyone!!! It so sad our own Michael Jackson is gone but he remains with us in spirit. June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET First, I'd like to express my condolences to the entire Jackson family. Secondly, I'd like to express why his children are not being considered in all this negative media reports. Yes, Michael had a drug addiction, that most believe he suffered from emotional and social issues from his childhood. When you have an addiction of that magnitude he definitely was not thinking right, it was impossible, he saw his world in a different manner. Obviously surrounded himself with enablers because in his mind he didn't have a problem but everyone else did. With that said, it's not his childrens fault, they are not responsible for his actions. He was sick, but the focus should be on his music and dance, he had amazing talent. All this negative information may cause his children to have emotional and social issues and may lead them to a drug problem later on down the road. Please think of the impact this may have on them. He was a sick man that couldn't help himself, to him he was normal, no man is perfect. Let's focus on his greatness for his childrens sake. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET So glad Madoff got 150 years. He really deserves worse, if that's possible. His wife says she's "embarrassed". I would say more like 'disgraced' is a better word. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET Michael Jackson was an incredible genius. We can look at videos of his from 15-20 years ago and they are as fabulous today as they were then. It doesn't matter to me what comes out about him now – he was a creative genius and always will be. No doubt he had eccentricities and he uffered a lot personally – it was a huge price for him to pay....but look at what he created with it. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET God has called Michael home, regardless of how it happened, it was his time to go. There's a time to live and a time to die and I loved Michael the person. his mother should be allowed to keep the kids. |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET I find the media frenzy over Michael Jackson hard to believe. Granted he was an exceptionally talented dancer and singer, yet the coverage is even more intense than the news after Princess Di's death. Somehow there's something akin to perverse voyeurism going on here. Does the death of the King of Pop really merit more attention than the rest of world events? |

June 29th, 2009 10:52 pm ET Hey Anderson, I want to take the time out and thank Deepak Chopra for coming out and telling the truth on what might have caused Michael Jackson's death. I thank him for being brave enough to do that. Even though Michael felt that he was all alone, obviously with all his fans grieving for him and wanting to know what happened, he really wasn't. Rest In Peace MJ |

June 29th, 2009 10:53 pm ET Michael's years of what the world called madness can now be viewed through different eyes. We are just now learning about how his life and sometimes actions contained pleas for help, yet those pleas went unanswered. Michael's message was love and his desire was for the world (especially children) to know the love and acceptance that he felt he never received. If there is a lesson to be learned through this tragedy, it would be to be aware of those around us and to be aware of the messages they are sending. If we learn that lesson and act in love toward our fellow man, Michael's message and his lifes work will be complete. |

June 29th, 2009 10:53 pm ET This is the first I heard of MJ having lupus. I know his skin problems were auto-immune, so it shouldn't be a surprise that he suffered from these terrible illnesses. I've had lupus for over 25 years, and know they can be life threatening! This could very well be part of why he died...Lay off the talk about him being drug addicted until the results come back...Auto-immune diseases can be very painful! |

June 29th, 2009 10:53 pm ET In regard to Jamie Foxx's comment, I will refer him to one of my favorite sayings (which I think is attributed to Mark Twain): "It is better to be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." |

June 29th, 2009 10:53 pm ET I think that we need to remember Michael Joe Jackson as a ICON and LEGEND that he truely is...He had problems like any other person b/c no one is perfect except GOD...We all need to stop judging b/c Michael Joe Jackson and just like everyone else will meet their maker one day...I hope that Katherine get permanent custody of the kids..The mother do not want those kids b/c she give up her parental rights for money and the kids barely know her...I will continue to follow this story b/c I love Michael Joe Jackson...R.I.P...you will truely be missed by many |

June 29th, 2009 10:53 pm ET I can not believe that anyone watching the comments of Joe Jackson do not see he is suffering from dementia. The Rev. Al Sharpton has to see this also. The big losers in all of this will be the children. |

June 29th, 2009 10:53 pm ET i can understand m. jackson's mistrust for people. these people who claim to be his friend, are so eager to display his dirty laundry before he's even buried. i understand the media speculating, it's their job; but these so-called friends are getting their 15 minutes of fame at this dead man's expense. it's sad. just wait until the cause of death is released. |

June 29th, 2009 10:54 pm ET Hello Anderson, I would like to say I only hope that people will realize what a wonderful indiviual Michael was. June 29th, 2009 10:54 pm ET i could only blame two things for his death : a deprived childhood and an abusive media. children must undego normal childhood to prevent climacterium to occur. likewise, how come media does not recognize rights of those they cover? the right to express oneself is NOT absolute! just to have a scoop, paparazzis invade peoples privacy. even as a public figure there must be limits to give respect to intimate and personal lives of people. peoples rights are limited because others have rights as well! tmz? |

June 29th, 2009 10:54 pm ET Why don't you ask a rheumatologist on-please explain the disease of lupus. The meaning of the word and the pain these patients live with each day. You brought cardiologists on to explain the difference b/w cardiac arrest and a heart attack but yet nothing but a mere mention about lupus. The world needs to be educated on this disease and the much needed research that is needed |

June 29th, 2009 10:54 pm ET I feel that the most important concern, should be Michael's children. It really is wonderful for their grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins to be there for them. Joe Jackson is a whole different story. |

June 29th, 2009 10:54 pm ET Thank you Anderson for interviewing Michael Jackson's Defense Attorney a few minutes ago. I didn't catch his name but he made so much sense of Michael's behavor. I too have trusted the wrong people and have learned to shut out the vultures. I wish Michael would have had better people looking out for his best interest and not their own. I will miss his style of meaningful music. |

June 29th, 2009 10:54 pm ET A few days before Michael death, something on TV prompted me to say to myself; "I know Michael will come out with an amazing new song, soon. Then a few days later, he is passed. I am in shock. A lose undiscribeable. I will never tire of the new worthy information about this tragedy. I am grateful that his children can actually see the overwhelming affection pouring out from all four corners of the earth. I don't think they ever experience that love from Michael's fans. What profit does a man have if he gains the world and loses his soul? Sad. Rest. |

June 29th, 2009 10:55 pm ET Why is Deepak being interviewed so much? Where are the recent pics of the 2 of them? Deepak could not be a friend discussing the subject of this "so called addiction" of MJ's. He's doing the family more harm than good by trying to confirm MJ's private matters. He's suddenly reminding me of Bashir and it appears that he probably manipulated MJ the same way Bashir did. I pray for the family and I am saddened in a selfish way b/c I anticipated being front row, care-free, white t-shirt, blood, sweat and tears at one of his upcoming concerts. There will never be another!!!! |

June 29th, 2009 10:55 pm ET My heart goes out to Michael...all this just makes me cry at such a tragic loss that didn't have to happen...and with that father, it's amazing that he managed to carry on through life as well as he did. If Deepak Chopra couldn't get through to him and help him, no one could. I pray that wherever he is Michael can feel the outpouring of affection worldwide and how much he was loved...and how very much he will be missed. |

June 29th, 2009 10:56 pm ET Thank you for the coverage on Michael. I've been hearing that Elvis did not have MTV and videos therefore, this may be a reason why Michael's fame surpasses. I love Elvis, although we have to remember that Michael was performing while Elvis was alive – both great artists. Most importantly, Michael created Videos like no other existed and they were way ahead of our time (a mini movie). I truely believe it's because of Michael Jackson that MTV video's were born! His production ideas were genius and advanced in his creativite mind. You can't really say Elvis had no MTV, you may say Michael created this type of media, dance moves and humanitary charities through his music, a true gift for all of us. |

June 29th, 2009 10:56 pm ET Regarding the custody of Michael Jacksons' children. Obviously they do not belong with Rowe and I hope they end up with his mother. But what bothers me is the fact that Michael who stated in many interviews the abuse to him at his fathers hand and that he will NEVER leave his children alone with him, will now have access to them. I believe he would never allowed this! If it was just the grandmother whom he loved that would be the best or maybe one of the siblings. But this man should not be allowed near them. Based on his comments, the man is plugging a record company, he's smiling all the time, and seems only to be interested in the money that can come in now. I pray the man has to keep a distance from them. He practically destroyed their father and I can see Joe trying to make a band out of them in the future. I hope a will is found, if not then report on the news how abusive and money hungry this guy is. |

June 29th, 2009 10:56 pm ET I heard that Joe Jackson lives in Las Vegas and Katherine lives in Echino, so the kids may not have to go through what MJ did with his dad. I do think Joe Jackson is just a little ignorant and didn't realize his comment about the record company would cause so much trouble. As far as the Dr., I'm mixed up on why he didn't call 911 sooner. Who knows maybe security guard could be interviewed. My guess is that maybe he was so devastated and in shock that MJ was literally dying in his arms and probably feels bad that he wasn't able to save a legend. For the people saying they tired of seeing MJ everytime they turn to cnn turn to a different channel and this is not like the anna nicole case just because the mere fact of MJ was a legend Anna Nicole was not. Thank you CNN for trying to investigate what happened devoted fans like me appreciate it. |

June 29th, 2009 10:56 pm ET I want to thank Dr. Chopra for putting the pieces of the puzzle, of Michel Jacksons life together . The auto immune health issues stemming from a stressful, abusive childhood explain many of his actions and eccentric and compulsive behavior. We should listen only to the people that knew him best , that don't have an agenda. |

June 29th, 2009 10:57 pm ET Thanks AC for doing such a great job. I'm like everyone else about Joe Jackson. He is an opportunistic SOB. Not once in his interview yesterday did he refer to Michael as "MY SON or MY CHILD' just as star or superstar. We know tha Michael is just that, but if it were me, I would have referred to my flesh and blood as such. The coverage you are doing is great, Keep it up. I just heard you or someone you were interviewing say that Joe lives in Las Vegas, Thank God, that way he won't be around the children to ruin them emotionally like he did Michael. Michael was truly a genius, and as Paul McCartney said a boy-man. All his life he had to produce for Dad, and not allowed to be him self. Well, Joe can hurt him no more. Maybe Michael will be allowed to have his childhood in heaven, after all he had plenty of hell on earth. He will be missed by all, but will never be forgotten. |

June 29th, 2009 10:58 pm ET When Catherine Jackson was awarded temporary custody today, I also thought about her "age", and why Janet or one of the other, younger family members couldn't be named. As far as Catherine NOT living with Joe anymore...great! Joe and his cronies need to go home, and put their business ventures back in the background, where they belong. He's still trying to "cash in" on Michael's talent. Shame on you Joe! |

June 29th, 2009 10:59 pm ET So sad about MJ . Like so many grew up listening to him. His solo career pretty much the soundtrack of my high school and early 20's in the 80's with my best friend. She died last year and reliving those years through the music the last few days was like losing her all over again. Though she's not here to share this tragedy with me, I know she and Michael are sharing each other's company now! My PYT tattoo is even more special now. |

June 29th, 2009 10:59 pm ET Though Michael was embarressed about having Lupus, it is good to have brought it to light. It explains how hard it is to live with. It explains his skin condition, having good days and having bad days, his weight loss, becoming fraile, feeling sick, sore and in pain. I have a friend w/ this very rare disease that there is no cure for. I know that she suffers a great deal when the sickness turns for the worse where you cannot get out of bed and develop sores all over. It's horrible to live with. If this is true, I wish Michael could have shared this with us so that we could emphasize with him. God Bless Him! |

June 29th, 2009 11:00 pm ET On the 911 call when the operator asked if anyone witnessed what happened the caller (from MJ's residence) asked the doctor if he saw what happened, there was some jibberish in the background from the doctor ,and then all of the sudden the caller says please get here soon. He avoided the question, never answered it. And also, the operator asked where MJ was and the caller said on the bed and that the doctor was administrating CPR, the operator said put him on the floor the caller said "ok" in a tone of voice as if to say oh well, kinda like he knew MJ was already dead. Just the way he said it, "OK". You would think he would have screamed "get him on the floor and do CPR" but all he said was "OK"- and never told the doctor to put him on the floor. Who was this caller anyway? Has anyone identified him yet. The doctor said that there wasn't a phone in the room to call the emt's but how did the caller get news about MJ not breathing and call 911. The doctor must have made a call to him or ran to get him at some point. THINGS ARE NOT ADDING UP HERE................... |

June 29th, 2009 11:00 pm ET Joe Jackson should stopped , he has done enough damage to his entire family.. it,s parents responsibily to financial care for there children. mike was to young to take on all that responsibily. The talent he had at 5 yrs of age. for sure he would have it at 18yrs of age.JOE jACKSON WALKING AROUND WITH THAT EARING IS SURLY A DISGRACE.As far as mrs. jackson being a jehovah witness you are to respect your husband as head of home. But I think she should stop him for being abusive to there children or go talk to the overseerer at the kingdom hall. |

June 29th, 2009 11:00 pm ET I want to say how sorry I am to here what had happend to Michael Jackson, He was an awesome person and father to his kids, as well as an ICON!!!! I am not happy about the way his father Joe Jackson is using his death to be in the spotlight!!!! I think Joe should never be able to be around Michael Jackson kids!!!!!! He did not ever care about any of his own kids, and all he did care about was how much money can they make him!!!!! Joe should be very upset right now for losing his son , but instead he is really using his son's death to be in the spotlight like his son Michael always was!!!!! All he care's about now is getting his hands on Michael Jackson's money and fame!!!! What a shame!!!!!......RIP....Michael Jackson.......RIP....U will truly be missed all over the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

June 29th, 2009 11:00 pm ET I do not understand how an accomplished physician of over 30 years experience was so "rattled" that he couldn't bring himself to make a 911 phonecall?
