Maureen Miller
AC360° Writer

As family, friends and fans mourn the death of Michael Jackson, a clearer picture is emerging of what happened just hours before his death. We'll have the latest development for you tonight on AC360°.

We also know about the tense moments inside Jackson's home as his personal physician tried with out success to save his life with CPR. The 911 call was released today.  We'll play part of it for you.  That doctor has been identified as Conrad Murray, a cardiologist who works in Las Vegas and Houston, and who is licensed to practice medicine in California. Last night, police towed the car he was driving away from Jackson's rented mansion. Officials say the car may contain "medications pertinent to the investigation."

Did drugs contribute to Jackson's death? We'll talk over the possibility with 360 M.D. Sanjay Gupta and addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky.

We'll also look at what the future might be for Jackson's three children. Who will get custody of them?

There's also the role that Jackson played as a racial trailblazer. He was the first African-American star on MTV.

Did Jackson influence your life? Share your memories below.

And, join us at 10pm ET for all this and more on the life and death of Michael Jackson. See you then!

you would think that these stars would learn a lesson from all the other stars that died from prescription meds. Now his 3 children may be seprated and live with who? They shouild be kept together and let a jackson family member raise them.
P.S. Anderson you are awesome!!! love your show

Laura Del Carlo   June 26th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

Why do celebrity doctors get away with such things.... Heath Ledger,
Nicole Smith, now Michael. We need to stop them

Sam Blackwell   June 26th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

I believe that Mr. Jackson was in a fantasy that he was "Peter Pan." I mean think, he loved the book, named his ranch Neverland, and as the boys he spent time with grew older the relationship grew apart. The "Lost Boy''s" no longer were the never aging kids.

Belle Johnson   June 26th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

I'm sad. And angry because people are now speaking out about the problems michael Jackson had.....but why now that it's to late do they wanna speak out

Reynold Durand   June 26th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Anderson, concerning Michael Jackson's death, there should be an investigation with the personal doctor and the one who made the 911 call. Very important!

Susan   June 26th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

What do you mean "Hollywood" doctors. This problem exists across this country in all walks of life. My brother suffers from addiction. After being clean and sober for 25 years from illegal drugs, a "doctor" got him hooked again on "legal" drugs. And now his life is beyond destroyed while that so-called doctor lives in a mansion. Let us please make Michael's death a call to correct the rampant drug dealing done legally in this country.

Caroline Mutuku   June 26th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

M.J is the first musician that any kid at my time first knew. He touched many and its sad that he is gone. The saddest part of it is that his life might have been saved.

john novack   June 26th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

He was a pedifile, and people praise him. Yes he was found not guilty of molesting a child,OJ simpson was aquitted of murder. Just goes to show you what a great country we live in. If you have a lot of money you can get away with anything. To me he will always be remebered as a pedifile

mel   June 26th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

David M. Smith   June 26th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I love michael jacksons music! That was pretty stupid he was taking pain medication and it wasnt working yet they gave him more medication.

Dana   June 26th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Michael Jackson. I am surprised at the hollow feeling I have inside since I heard the news. I now know what my mother has described feeling when Elvis and JFK died. He was a true icon who will be sadly missed!

Eva   June 26th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

All i can thik about right now is that we should remember him as the great artist he was, and all the beautiful songs and messages he left us, his love for the children, his love for life... i still can't believe he is gone forever, R.I.P. Michael

Lisa Harris   June 26th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

i am 54 yrs old and michael was part of my life as a teenager and beyond there was absolutely no one that comes close to this musical genius................i will miss his incredible sound and magical dance

Here in Papua New Guinea,Michael Jackson still and will always live on...May he now Rest in Peace...our prayers with the Jackson family.

hazel filoxsian   June 26th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I am heartbroken that we are even having this conversation. Todays young muscians can learn a lot from Mr. Jackson, from his music, which was always clean and never disrespectful to women, to his universal appeal, not many can say they 're loved by the entire world.

Amber Smith   June 26th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Michael Jackson was the American legend.Nobody will never perform like him and will be remembered as the American entertainer.Michael will be missed forever.May he rest in peace!

sufipoofy   June 26th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

If people were making crude remarks about Michael Joseph Jackson and his behaviors before his tragic death in these past decades, how come all of a sudden people are now saying good things about him? Why didn't people celebrate what a excellent human being he was when he was alive? How come we are celebrating his life after he has died instead of celebrating it with him when he was alive?

-Nazaneen

angela tometi   June 26th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

This is the right opporunity for the media to stress on these Doctors that are enabling celebrities to take these prescription drugs. How many more icons are going to go down. Please help do something to save others.

Annie Kate   June 26th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Sometimes there are people who require for health reasons ongoing pain medication (for chronic pain). While you can die from it what do you do if you have to have something for pain for a condition that cannot be corrected by surgery and which will not get better but only worse? Did Micheal have something like that?

Carmina Cambas   June 26th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

CNN is the greatest!.. i'd been watching your segment always especially on certain topics that needs important attention to be discussed. It gives us appropriate details and understanding to whatever unanswered questions we have... So, godspeed and keep up the best work!

Jo Anne   June 26th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

We did not come here to stay. Michael lived and his music was a great contribution to mankind. Huge heart, humble man, perhaps addicted to drugs, troubled? RIP Michael, no more pain, no more stress, you are truly free. God be with you

John Shepherd   June 26th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Dr. Pinsky is absolutely on track on this. I have been a health care administrator for over 35 years and this problem is widespread. Pain management is out of control. There is a complete fragmentation of the health care delivery system in the US. Legal prescriptions and an inability to track prescription fills is a sympton of this epidemic.

All the reason to see health care delivery reform in this country.

priscilla   June 26th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Michael jackson was simply the best performer alive.
His passing has really made me really sad.
he gave this world all he had.

Sharon   June 26th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

I think Michael Jackson would freak out to know that his children may suffer the same mental, physical and sexual abuse that he did by living with his Dad, Jo Jackson. Find the kids somewhere else to live because Jo is a known abuser.

dee   June 26th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

I loved M.J and I always will. I realy don't like th fact that his "freind" the Dr. Is traveling all over the media saying out right that he was an addict. If he was a true friend, he would say nothing but the great things about Michael. I think that doctor is a loser and he is not a friend

Dame Debby   June 26th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Whilst I agree with the MD's about their suspicions of Drug Abuse and the practitioners that abuse this....I would like to say that as much as that is important for investigation purposes and eventually satisfying our curiosity and getting to the bottom of the true cause of death, let us not lose focus from the idea that this is an ICON who has passed away and who is sadly missed, and while the whole world is mourning, his family is grieving even more.
Let us not add fumes to the fire by discussing what will brood more hurt and disappointment at this depressing time and exercise some empathy at least for the next couple of days so we can actually celebrate the legacy he left behind.....gone only too soon, but not forgotten.

Let the press for once, not be blamed for highlighting the BAD over the GOOD.

linda   June 26th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

What the hell happened to our king he was the greatest you celeberty dr. are killing all the great ones by giving them medication that they might not need I am furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

monica stanley in lake park ,ga   June 26th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

deb   June 26th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

This country is being medicated. The drug dealers are not on the corner of the street., they now sit behind a desk with a perscription pad. It doesn't have to be a celebrity it is all over. It has to be stopped. The doctors and the drug companies.

Todd   June 26th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Hello,

Michael Jackson was asked to perform 50 shows and he was at an age of 50 and not 35, and they hired one doctor to overlook his medical problems. They Should’ve had a stronger medical team to overlook his medical issues if they magnified: why was this not the case?

We lost a man of great talent: Heaven received this gift.

sharon   June 26th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

no one wants to hear of micheal's drug addiction possibilities if it was of that much importance then the doctor should have said it before this trady stuck. we, the fans want to remember micheal for the person we know, kind, loving and dedicated to bringing happiness to those around him.

Jean Clemenz   June 26th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Gosh.. I am so tired of these docs/people enabling these stars .. like anna nichole or not.. Her "friends: killed her.. I don't know. this just angers me.. they needed help, not drugs. I guess easier said than done. I dont have a ton of money to pay my fake friends to indulge my downnfalls...bless Michael...

morgan   June 26th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

iam 12 years old i miss micheal jackson so much.He was so famous and popular everyone new him.he will never be forgoten by all of the country

Lucy   June 26th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

My heart aches for his children, Michael always talked about not having a childhood now these poor children will spend their childhood without their father. Whatever the reason was that killed him i just hope the truth will be told and his kids can grow knowing that their father loved them. I only wish that his family would have been more aware of his medical problems...maybe it could have avoided all of this pain. Rest in peace Michael..You will be forever missed and remembered!!!!

Anne Soiza   June 26th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

I just listened to the audio of the 911 call. I find it odd that the caller states they were administering CPR but the operator asks if he was on the floor and the caller said no on the bed. What's up with that? Especially with the doctor there? CPR can only be properly applied when the victim in on a hard surface.

Jordan Castillo   June 26th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

It's sad to have Michael gone. I am hoping that medication was NOT the cause of his death although it sounds like that's what it maybe. If this becomes confirmed instead of speculated I'll be deeply saddened. Rest In Peace M.J. your fans love you and you will be deeply be missed. You'll live on within us through your music.

Lois   June 26th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

For his children can we just let their father rest in Peace. He was a great performer. Discussing what he died from will not change a thing,so why take the chance that his children will see what all is being said. His children have to go to school, so please just let the man rest in peace, all the rest does not matter.

hazel filoxsian   June 26th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Now that I am too old to dance to his music, I will simply nod my rythematically,. in agreement with the words of his song and pat my feet to the music. It's Michael, and I cant help myself

erika   June 26th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

When I heard Michael Jackson past away it broke my heart. I grew up watching him since he was a young boy .. Michael and his music will live on forever .. I'm always going to keep him in my heart. Will he rest in peace and my prayers go out to his family

Lorelei Garcia   June 26th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

Could it be that Michael wanted his doctor around the clock because he knew what he was doing was dangerous, no pun intended, and wanted assurance that if something went wrong he would have access to medical aid to assist him during an emergency? I think Michael had a common sense that what he was doing was damaging to his health, but due to his trials and tribulations, he could not cope with out the aid of medication. He would have been better off drinking a bottle of red wine if his purpose was to temporarily numb his senses.

Lorelei

Robert Missouri   June 26th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

Can someone please tell me why a certified doctor would give "The King of Pop" CPR, on the bed instead of the floor? This needs to be looked into. Thanks!

Joy   June 26th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

There is a lot of discussion about the chronic pain Michael Jackson experienced. What has not been mentioned is that addiction to opiods affects the pain receptors in the brain and causes the addict to experience even more pain, leading to even more abuse of opiods. It truly is a horrible cycle to be caught in.

babie leonar   June 26th, 2009 10:26 pm ET

Michael? Of course everyone knows Michael Jackson. He's a living legend because of his music, his transformation from black to white complexion, his uncontrollable phenomenon as an artist. He performed in the Phillippines and it was like being visited by a president. Michael was a victim of success. I mourn for his loss.

carlye , ne   June 26th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

"WOW" I'M AT A LOSS FOR WORDS! MICHAEL JACKSON WAS MORE THAN AN ICON HE WAS A LEGENDIN HIS OWN RIGHT! HE HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD AND "SUCCEDED". WAS A SHINING STAR IN HIS CAREER! When I was a kid all I knew was Michael Jackson. I wanted to dance like him and everthing. Mike was unique and special. Michael and his songz inspired me in everyday life. I wish the family hold on to his legacy and make sure his kids really take in who their father really was. He was a great man and he will always live in my heart. RIP MICHAEL, YOU WILL MISSED!!!!

Robin   June 26th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

Michael Jackson preformed in Jacksonville Florida; it was the first live concert I was ever allowed to attend; it was on my 13th birthday. My parents did not have much money, but somehow they were able to give me that concert ticket for my birthday. With my fringe vast and mini skirt, I screamed his name until my voice was gone. He was 10 years old, and now 40 years later, it is still my fondest memory of my entry into my teen years.

The magic only grew over the years and his music is embedded in my soul. The gentleness of his spirit was always evident to me. I never believed he did anything to children; I am glad he was able to father children and I pray they are emotionally healthy and that they remain with his family. God's Speed Michael; thank you for the music that always touches my soul!

crystal   June 26th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

i am deeply sadden by michael jackson death and still in shock and disbelief he will be missed. what i don't understand is if he was so sick they should have taken him to the hospital in time and not waited for this to happen maybe his life would have been saved. my deepest sympaty to the jackson family and his kids.

Carol Ellison   June 26th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

I am in complete agreement with the comments being made about prescription drug abuse. Having worked in the field of substance abuse for many years, I am appalled at the ease with which dangerous medications are made available to the general public. That the results range from severe dependence to death makes it imperative that steps are taken to investigate this practise. Obviously the restrictions as they now exist are insufficient.
Let us hope that new laws to regulate the cavalier prescribing of narcotics be a fitting memorial for the brilliant light that has been extinguished.

Jayanka De Silva   June 26th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

I grew up listening to MJ watching his dance moves tapping my feet to his unique rhythm. I know there were some who didn't like him, probably because he was different from everyone else. I mean its not easy being a superstar at such a young age.
The thing that i like the most about Michael Jackson is whenever you see him in public, or on stage or just signing an autograph you can feel that this guy cares about his fans and radiates with love.
I'm sad that I never got to see him perform live or shake his hand but even from thousands of miles away, Michael, you changed my life. You transcended race, color and creed , you showed people how to love.
That's how I will remember Michael Jackson.
Thank you for gracing us with your presence

Jayanka

Can we please see some news besides the Michael Jackson story? It's enough already!

Svein Loktu   June 26th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Hay

I'm sending this from Norway and i'm shocked
The newes about the docktors in the states that gives people what they what or what the docktor what them to take is just shocking.
I've been living with constant pain (24-7) for 14 years now, since i was 23 years old and i have never hurd about things like this. I have had to fight to for the everything to get what could help me and, this was taken of the marked a year ago and i don't have anything to take for my pain anymore, but i just said to my self that i had to fix it or live it. The pain i'm living with is not to live with but i can stand it because i have people in my life that cear for me.

This a problem in the US. Look what they did to Elvis And now again with Michael. How can the US kill their own heroes like this.
Take control over this befor more peope get's killed like like Elvis and Michael.

I hope you can take up this problem, pleas now i lost to of the people that i looked up on and i loved their music.

Take care
From Norway living with pain 24-7

Svein loktu

Rest in pease (seen him both times he's been in Norway)

very sad i remember watching the thriller video when it debut on MTV. I loved his ballads he had a great voice. Too bad things ended this way.

kimneisha   June 26th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

I'm in complete shock at 13 in a half years old i am a young fan of Michael it's just so hurtful and seduces me to tears may he rest in peace

Judy   June 26th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

I am a very big Elvis and Lisa Marie fan and I think she is totally right in what concerns the similarities of Michael and her father's death. To me Michael remains a curiosity, why couln't he live his life at ease just like the messages he delivered through his music?

yasmine   June 26th, 2009 10:37 pm ET

it's sad that the king of pop as died. But we will remember him. We love you michael jackson. My prayers go out to his family and children.

Elizabeth Hoffman   June 26th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, and others are taking too many over powering drugs. They can slip into death in their sleep without those around him noticing he is gone at all. We have to learn from Michael. That is the least we can do on his behalf.

Frannie   June 26th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Hi All

Such a sad sad few days
We have lost a great singer, dancer, etc., man of many talents
Let's just talk about the great things Michael did for thos world and keep the negative out of this
He is not here to defend himself
My deepest sympathy

Shannon Pellerin   June 26th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

The world lost a great icon, I grew up on Michael's music and I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Jackson family, but I think Dr. Deepak had the most realistic answer as to what was going on in Michael's.

The Hawkins Family   June 26th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Michael Jackson was the greastest singer in the world. Its ashame how everybody talked about him until they found out he passed away then they all come and play fake and talk about how good of a man he was. I don't care what nobody says he will always be the greatest.

Gale Satchell   June 26th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

WE WILL MISS HIM AS A MAN, AND NOW WE CAN TREASURE HIM AS OUR ANGLE.

danie   June 26th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

frm down under this continent in zimbabwe we leant about micheal's tragic death, indeed it suprises us all. to his family- we shall forever pray with you in this difficult time and always knw that the lord is with you.

gio   June 26th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

I have been crying all day. This is hard to take. Like most of us, Michael provided the soundtrack to my entire life.

I always stood up for MJ, because I've worked with him, & knew how crazy his life was. It was inevitable he would become eccentric. He never knew a normal life once the Jackson 5 took off. He was a walking ATM machine for years, & they worked those kids mercilessly. Now, a least sweet Michael, you can rest.

I feel like a dear friend has died. This death has hit me harder than I ever imagined.

LAWRENCE LONG   June 26th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

MY Heart goes out to Michael jackson"s family may God be with you in this time of need my,prayer`s and best wish`es be with ya`ll love and prayer`s stay strong... Michael you will be truly missed;your fan forever...RIP...

vicki   June 26th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

Michael Jackson will be sorely missed by family, friends and fans all over the world. His death was a shock and totally unexpected it will be by the grace of God that its going to take time to heal and find a way to help people of all kinds regarding addictions and hopefully his death will not be in vain.

Kareen Richards   June 26th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

It is really sad to see Michael go, really, really sad. I remember when the Jackson Five was very popular, as I was a little girl then. I loved their music and when I heard him singing, I used to confuse him with another child star in my country as their voices sounded the same. I loved his songs. his album 'Thriller' was awesome. My sisters and I love his music. His songs on that album and many others of course were great. Everytime i hear his songs on the Thriller album, I have to stop what I am doing and dance.

Yea man, he was good. I am really sorry to see that he died before making the comeback concert. Rest in Peace Michael, and may light perpetual shine on you.

Judith A. EHRLICH   June 26th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

The genius that this man gave millions musically will never been seen again. I find it appallling that his plastic surgeries, drug abuse, etc, are getting more attention than what Michael Jackson accomplished. his music, his humanitarianism, and his kindness need to be emphasized. it's like talking about Ludwig Von Betthoven's syphillis, and ignoring his genius. michael gave us love and kindness, we OWE him the same. This is not the time for shallowness, it's a time for love, dignity, and respect for his family, specifcally his three children

Jerry Brooks   June 26th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Michael has been in fact the best entertainers known to man. He did however deal with great loss within his life, one was no childhood. He lost a wife due to his addiction. The more of it is that I do not think it was an addiction it was his own demons. When your own demons surround you like they have Mr. Jackson you will go a little extream. With Jackson he went too far. After the Era of Black or White he went from a stabled mind to a struggling star who did not belong to his self any longer.

So I say, God Bless Michael's friends, family, and fans.

Anderson, Thanks so much for doing such a wonderful coverage on our sweetheart Michael Jackson. Thanks to Erica as well!

Christine   June 26th, 2009 11:00 pm ET

I would like to send my wishes out to his families and friends.. I can remember growning up as a child trying to do MJ famous moves moonwalk & breakdance and I remember my mom telling me when break your bones MJ won't be here to take care of you.... I hope people remember him for what he did not how he live. He was able to bring people together no matter what race or creed they were as long as they have the same belief has he did. He was able to bring all the artist's together for USA for Africia and Heal the World.

My heart goes out to his children because they're going to miss him the most... He was their father, friend and companion...

Love Christine

I will miss him and I'm also mad at him, for leaving us too soon.

BUT, I'm even madder at people who COULD have stopped this from happening.

IF, reports do prove correct and prescription drugs were the cause it is a VERY SAD day.

I grew up with him, I born August 14th and he the 28th 1958.

I am VERY sad for his children and hope they do not become part of an ongoing saga and be split apart.

At least now he is TRUELY with people who love him and he can now have the childhood he missed.

adam   June 26th, 2009 11:03 pm ET

the real tradegy of this all is now that mj has passed all of his closest friends are now speaking out about his drug addiction when there were obvious sign before this day whats more unfortunate is that his family or friends have not spoke of any of this before...maybe if someone did,he would still be alive today and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

AC – what’s this 4-6 weeks stuff for the toxicology results? Send it to Abby Sciuto on NCIS, you’ll have results in about 30 minutes!

Yvette   June 26th, 2009 11:03 pm ET

You can not effectively do CPR on a bed!!!! Any Dr. should know that.

Anan   June 26th, 2009 11:13 pm ET

All said and done he is a legend. Speculations always is a thing after these kinda of issues.

The doctors that are giving the celebrities the medication should be held responsible for their death. This needs to stop!!

Nicole Austin TX   June 26th, 2009 11:14 pm ET

I am so glad that this is the only channel that has an addiction specialist speak about this topic. It is disturbing that this world is so in the dark about the disease of addiction, and seeind dr. drew address this what the world needs to see! BRING THE DISEASE OF ADDICTION TO THE LIGHT FOR ALL THE PEOPLE SUFFERING IN THE DARKNESS.

Susie   June 26th, 2009 11:14 pm ET

Enough is enough coverage already. Yes Michael Jackson was enormously talented but he was also a child molester, a drug addict, and one of the strangest people on earth. 24/7 coverage is not deserved in this case. Let's get back to the important world issues. Overkill to put it mildly.

donna wilson(thunder bay, ont)   June 26th, 2009 11:14 pm ET

micheal was unique and unrepeatable. when thriller came out my daughter wore out 2 tapes watching this young man with talent most of us wish we had a fraction of. on the passing of him, my daughter only mentioned his talent. there was no mention of anything but his astounding contribution to the artist he was. micheal is my age-my daughter is 27. we all know and have opinions on his lifestyles. isn't it amazing that we celebrate his life as an artist -as my daughter did-than judge him when we ourselves have windows that need cleaning? If my young daughter can immediately celebrate his talent why can't the media? EVERYONE HAS A HISTORY! please remember this gentleman has a family. whether good or bad. the loss of a son, brother or friend demands respect. there is no manual on how one should act or react. if michael's fans are reacting -let his family have the privacy they deserve. little richard and michael jackson was on my BUCKET LIST! I see little richard july 12. may you find the peace and acceptance you always sought michael. we will look for your star in the canadian sky.

Daniella   June 26th, 2009 11:15 pm ET

I am seriously shocked at Michael's death. We lost a genuis, a living legend and a megastar.

Dale bakker   June 26th, 2009 11:16 pm ET

I grew up in the 80's......Michael Jackson was the 80's......he was larger than life.......I will miss his music, as with Elvis Presley we did not know really how special Michael Jackson was......God be with his family at this difficult time.

I suffer from chronic pain which no doctor has been able to find the cause. I am on pain meds which Michael's death has me thinking about the care I'm currently receiving. I have been trying other methods to deal with the pain which is not easy. Michael's death has me thinking that I need to try harder with learning to live with the chronic pain.

jodi   June 26th, 2009 11:18 pm ET

my mother and i were such huge michael jackson fans for years. we are sadden to hear about the sudden death and the huge loss for his 3 children. we were wondering if janet may take custody since she was the closest to him out of the family. and will there be charges against his doctor as there were in anna nicoles case. our deapest sympathy goes out to the family and children of the jackson family.

jeri   June 26th, 2009 11:20 pm ET

I hope this brings awareness that addiction is a serious problem crossing all social boundaries. I'm sure what would make the King of Pop the happiest would be that somebody somewhere finds the courage to 'change their ways'

Nick Tarasco   June 27th, 2009 5:19 pm ET

I have two questions , 1.If the Dr that was with Michael Jackson was a heart specialist "why was he trying CPR" on the bed ? Also 2. Would a heart specialist not know you wouldn't be giving someone with chest pains a shot of Demerol ?

Oh and why wouldn't he have ordered an ambulance the night before when he started having chest pains ?

Thank you ,

Besides his wicked song beats, astonishing performance, quirky sense of humor and childlike behavior, what really drew me to Michael was the message of his music. Through songs such as: “We’re the World”, “Man in the mirror”, “Heal the world”, and so forth, Michael advocated for social awareness and justice in the world. His endless and selfless efforts, commitment and determination to assume social responsibility and use his stardom as well as resources to ease some of the worlds pain is the primary reason why I’ve always had such immense respect, admiration and love for him. He might have been a huge paradigm shifter in world culture and thus influential to many people, but to me he was the prime inspiration in my life (since I was like 7yrs old) who motivated me to wanting to help others in need and to give back to society. I will always remember him for the true humanitarian he was. I dearly love Michael & will miss him deeply, however I do hope he finally found the peace he never got in life.

For all the haters... Michael is gone, please let him and his fans be, let the man for once and all rest in peace!

Vera   June 27th, 2009 6:55 pm ET

for years he is crying for help.. all this guy needed was a little tlc.. and altough you dont need to be a psychiatrist to understand all the pressure he was under(concerts, getting ol and still need to dance like at 25, financial pressure, a lots of people around wanting money only, new pop singers competition and losing his ranch) shame on his mother .. shame on his brothers... shame on his friends!!! that should lead us to the conclusion.. how many like him? with no moral support.. and i am not talking about doctors and institutions..

Cyn   June 27th, 2009 8:19 pm ET

We are getting a lot of feedback from other nations re: MJ's death. Any reports from Africa?

melissa   June 27th, 2009 8:28 pm ET

just wondering why there is so much hype about michael jackson, but nobody is remembering that ed mcman and farrah fawcett also died. they were just as much celeberties as he was. guess cause there was more hype around him and his "troubles" than the other two. they werent in headlines all the time so i guess they dont matter

Gary Smith   June 27th, 2009 11:44 pm ET

I was in Tenth grade in NY City when the Jackson5 were first out. I have loved Michael ever since. The World is different without him, I am truly going through a depression over hearing he is gone. He lives, forever, however. One thing I ask, whatever Memorial we give in his honor, please do not let Rev Al Sharpton be a major part. Michael's life was dedicated to bringing people together.. Sharptons live has always been about dividing us.

I am still sadded by tyhe death of michael jackson.i'm a49 yr old female who grew up with michael.one of my sons who just turned 22 this week, adored michael so much to the fact that he even names his alias after him,has every cd and video that michael ever made and dances just like him.
tonight he dedicated his birthday party to michael's legacy.refusing to play any music other that those of michael jackson in tribute.
r.i.p. michael we all loved you but GOD loved you best

Cheryl   June 28th, 2009 12:48 am ET

As I watched a program this evening, I saw that Michael Jackson's nose was the same as the character Peter Pan. His decision to change his nose to how it looked recently made much more sense and his appearance doesn't seem so bizarre.

Please don't continue to show the recent transporting of the body from the helicopter to the ambulance and the picture of Michael in the coma. being brought to the hospital.

Gordon   June 28th, 2009 1:05 am ET

Why is no one talking about a cardiologist trying to do CPR on a bed ? Anyone who has taken the most basic of CPR course knows you need a firm surface under the patient. I heard on the 911 call the first thing the operator told him was to get him off the bed and onto the floor. Where was this doctors head at?
The other comment i have is why were the paramedics on scene for 42 minutes? They had an unresponsive non breathing patient. This alone puts the patient in the rapid transport catagory. Paramedics are trained about the golden hour. This means you have ideally one hour from the time the incident occurs till the patient is in the operating room. Taking 42 minutes before transporting is totally unacceptable. The patient should have been assessed and on his way in under ten minutes. This would have given the ucla team a lot better chance at reviving the patient

I can believe he really gone,my heart is still hurts,he is first singer I be came a fan of.he had the voice of an ANGEL to me.I can only hope he is one now.

Tracey   June 28th, 2009 9:23 pm ET

What Michael Jackson achieved in music was God given it was his destiny. This was the platform God gave him to do many great things on the earth. There will never be another like him because he was one of a kind like Martin Luther King Jr. and many other great people who made a difference in so many people life. It may have been a lyric in one of his songs that gave someone courage or insight like his song Black & White, We Are The World. I believe that the negative things that happen in our lives causes us to loose focus on our purpose. I believe Michael's assignment on the earth wasn't finish he left us to soon. My heart is sorrowful, we will all miss him. My prayer goes out to his children, mother, father and family.
