I just wanted to say that I was rather disheartened by how Farrah Fosset seems to be suddenly shunned to the side. While I am deeply saddened with Michael Jackson's passing, I feel the major news networks need to address both individuals because BOTH made their own amazing contributions to the entertainment industry throughout the decades.

Cole   June 25th, 2009 8:24 pm ET

Micheal Jackson was a true american icon and at one time the biggest star in the world. He was one of the best and badest singers at the age of 5 or however with Jackson 5.
Listening to Ill be There by Jackson 5 brings me to tears, then when thinking about how much he did for charity and children and the public tried to bring him down and he was a human just like all of us..He has things that he has low self esteem about and the public exploited that, made him out to be a freak and look weird. So he tried to make himself look like he thougth you wanted him to look like. But i not whats on the outside. I dont care what anyone says aout Micheal hes bigger than Elvis, done more for people and charities than Elvis,,cared more about people than Elvis. Micheal Jackson is the biggest music star to ever die and one of the best people. Humanity lost a great person today, comics lost alot of cruel, jealous jokes about a man whose done more for people than his critics and saved more lives than anyone who youll ever meet or anyone whose ever critisized him...
He revolutionized dance in his later years and there was nothing like seing him dance. Alot of people before my generation talk about seeing elvis on ed sullivan or The Beatles, but for mine it was seeing Micheal Jackson moonwalk for the first time and dance.
Micheal Jackson was a real human being with problems like us all. He made a difference and he should inspire us all, musicians, humanintarians, all people alike. He wasnt perfect, no one is but we hsould learn nto to judge by looks but by the person. What a loss.. All you have to do is go through his music from start to finish..tremendous albums, hits, great music and bad dancing and ths lasted many many many yars. Takes talent and someone special to last that long into todays world. His longevity will be as long as the beatles and the bands from 60s early 70s. No one can take that away from him because hes human and inperfect. I hat was the case we'd all be shunned. None of us have done as much for people as Micheal. God Bless him and let him be in heaven where he wont be judged and doing duets with some of the best who have pasted on.
Revalations 21.4
And he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall not exist any more, nor grief, nor cry, nor distress shall exist any more, for the former things have passed away.

Annie Kate   June 25th, 2009 8:25 pm ET

Such a quiet crowd. I'm sure Michael would have been touched that his fans showed up like this. May he rest in peace.

mason riddle   June 25th, 2009 8:26 pm ET

Could someone please set Cambell Brown straight – Michael Jackson did not die of a heart attack he died of cardiac arrest. She says "heart attack" as cause of death, moments after Sanjay Gupta has explained the difference and it is stated as Cardiac arrest. Proves my point that miss Brown seldom listens and is usually trying to talk – often shrilly. Very tough to listen to her.

diane   June 25th, 2009 8:30 pm ET

sorry about michael, however i cannot believe poor farrah was pre=empted. i know larry king was doing a show on her tonight, if he changes that, i will never watch him again. a tribute to michael can always be done tommorow night. shame on you people

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

Chris Walker   June 25th, 2009 8:32 pm ET

For those of us who grew up with Michael Jackson, his death will be as impactful as when those who grew up with Elvis lost him.

We have lost alot of entertainment talent today between Michael and
Farrah.

May they rest in peace

Val Kvool   June 25th, 2009 8:33 pm ET

How surreal can it be.....his star is covered up for the preview of Bruno and he is now dead.

Mike   June 25th, 2009 8:37 pm ET

Mr Tubin,
In America, people mourn the death of someone before killing them the second time.

Chris   June 25th, 2009 8:54 pm ET

Hey AC and staff. Please comment on the Jeff Goldblum death hoax that's been running wild on the internet today. Thanks.

Luis Briseno   June 25th, 2009 8:56 pm ET

Question what about Michael's kids who will be taking care of his sons.

Kathryn   June 25th, 2009 8:58 pm ET

Reina   June 25th, 2009 8:58 pm ET

I'm from Curacao, and I must say micheal was a world icon it's shame that we lost a great talent. There will not be another micheal

Gary   June 25th, 2009 9:00 pm ET

I am 33 and grew up with Michael Jackson. Who among us hasn't done things that we wouldn't want others to know about. I don't know if he did those things, but I am truly saddened today. Look at his older life. He had to create a child-like home to make up for the childhood that was robbed him by his parents. He was one of a kind. he will be missed.

linda lopez   June 25th, 2009 9:02 pm ET

Are you guys going to talk about Micheal Jackson the whole hour?
Farah Faucet died too, I know it is big new how much is to much.

Benigna Marko   June 25th, 2009 9:04 pm ET

My heart goes to the family. The rumors are crazy. How can people just want to even speculate on his death. For Pete's sake let him RIP.

Jeff Craig   June 25th, 2009 9:05 pm ET

It is a Shock, but in many ways no surprise that from the Author of "We are the world" once again the world takes its eyes off of all the War, Famine, strife ,and pestilence that is currently happening, and being reported on in the world to remember a truly amazing individual who helped enlighten, entertain ,and educate us in ways that have built many bridges cross culturally ,and racially . Even though maybe some of us never really fully understood This man, one thing is for sure we owe him a great deal of respect for sharing his God given talent ,and ideas about peace ,and charity, human compassion, and for all the efforts he made to promote generousity towards the suffering masses of people in Africa, and elsewhere in the world .His life definately stood for something, and not surprisingly his death as well ,brings us closer together, as we stand around our T.V. sets remembering him, and his life ,for a brief time not thinking of The Economy,Swine Flu,War in Afghanistan, or Iraq, But instead remembering a man who made our lives a little easier to bear with His Music ,Dancing, and Passions toward Humanitarian Efforts. Thank you!! Micheal Jackson!! from Me, and all of Indiana!! You will be Missed!! And never Forgotten!!

Ursala Garnett   June 25th, 2009 9:07 pm ET

Dear AC Cooper,
This is truly a sad day in this country. This loss of Michael Jackson has been a great shock to many and very disheartening. One comment I want to make to the media and those that cover the news. I was very displeased at the information that was portrayed in discussed on CNN News this afternoon. All of the panel guest who continued to reflect on Michael Jackson's past was truly a disgrace and disrespect to his children, his family, his friends, and his fans. For once in the Media's crude life will they ever reflect on the goodness of a person. A lot of the information that was discussed today was inappropriate and very tacky on the Media's part. One question, when any of you leave this life, what do you want people to remember? Your good deeds or your unfounded allegations. It's amazing how we focus so much on negative energy and negative information and not speak or report or talk NEW LIFE.

I pray to God that He will have mercy on your souls, because we are to judge no man before his time. There is only one judge and that is GOD!

Ajay   June 25th, 2009 9:14 pm ET

God Rest His Soul in Peace.. Michael Jackson was legend. I am from a small village in India. i haven't seen his performance , not even on TV. but i am sure., his name was well known to me and my friends. Seriously speaking, Me and my friends knew only two people from USA abraham linkon and Michale Jackson.. I remember why abraham linkon since there was story about abraham linkon in our curriculum.. but if we heard Michale Jackson that time , definitely it indicates he was very very famous and great personality..

Benigna Marko   June 25th, 2009 9:21 pm ET

Such a sad day. The King of Pop will desprately be missed.

the entertainment industry is like any other, the industry is not immune to attrition, these people suffer the same disabilities, sickness and physical breakdown as the rest of the population.the difference with those in the industry is they spend the better part of thier lives entertaining the rest of us.and as such win the adoration from most of us.and we feel truly saddened when such talent passes.personal lives aside,we honor and glorify them in passing which is how it should be.they deserve to be held in high regard, for making our lives so much better through entertainment.

Sheila Wardlaw   June 25th, 2009 11:45 pm ET

When I got the text I thought it was a joke, then I put on the TV and CNN said coma, so then I flip through the channels not wanting to believe it, so then I went online and it was everywhere. It hurts because I did know him, I knew his music, videos, concerts and much more so technically we all know him. Michael will be missed more then anyone else because he's a LEGEND! He was one of those people you expect to live forever. My heart goes out to his FAMILY, but especially his mother, I've lost a daughter September 2008 so I know her PAIN because I'm still dealing with it. I pray that the family with prayers will get through this, they won't get over it but just through it. I pray that Michael knew GOD, so that he can continue his great WORKS in heaven and have eternal life. Love you Michael and hope to see you again! GOD NEEDS HIS TALENTS UP IN HEAVEN, MORE THAN HE DO ON EARTH!

Hasmukh B.Patel   June 25th, 2009 11:47 pm ET

may God rest his soul.....but please CNN do not call yourself a news service but an entertainment service.......Iran obsessed your firm for days ...........now........you turn it off like a faucet.........if your company payed 1/2 the attention to the lack of democracy in our country in 2000 in Florida than you do with Iran maybe just maybe our country would be in better shape...where were you then........when the supreme court engaged in a coup......oh wait, thats right the emmys came up!!!!!!!!...you are not journalists but entertainers.....listen to the general mindless questions your entertainment team asks.........i tell my students you and the other networks and most of our media are pathetic forms of entertainment...and thanks to the internet we can log into web sites of substance...hopefully you will go the way of newspapers or change !

I couldnt believe it about Farrah Fawcett, well I had a small inkling yesterday, but than Michaet Jackson, too within a few hours?

I didn't believe it about Michael Jackson at first~
terribly sad~
Farrah, an American Pop Icon, Michael, King of Pop Icon all on the same day~ We in America are hearing the news first. I did right away.
What will the fans think in Europe and Japan when they hear this tragic news?
No matter what you think of Michael Jackson- He is a Icon. Just like the Beatles & Elvis~

so sad
RIP MJ~

I am so saddened both by Michael Jackson's AND Farrah's death today. I think EQUAL time should be given to remember both of these human beings.

What disturbs me though is the fans that are surrounding the Medical Center where Michael died,,, they are there partying,,, not mourning,, supposedely paying tribute to the great legend of Michael Jackson.

They should just go home and listen to his music in private.

KEVIN K   June 26th, 2009 2:48 am ET

Lisa   June 26th, 2009 3:30 am ET

people really cared about Michael and it is truly touching to see the extent of their care and love for him and his family.
His music touched our lives, made us laugh, dance, sing. He brought alot of happiness into many of our lives. He broke through the walls of racism. He appealed to many ages. His music brought joy to our lives.
That is why all those people show up at his house, hospital, and the Appollo. It proves that media can't tear his talent away. His music does transcend any form of destruction the media contributed to Michael. And now you wonder why people are showing up at the report of his death?
The world is mourning Michael Jackson and as always He steals the limelight, the show, the spotlight today. This is the way he would have planned his aftermath if he could have- making headlines- creating the buzz-His death is as big as He was. remarkable Michael.

Michael Sword   June 26th, 2009 3:58 am ET

Great to see the grieving crowds smiling and laughing when the camera is on them. They sure are taking this hard, aren't they?

Keyona   June 26th, 2009 4:05 am ET

I pray that Jesus will be with the whole entire Jackson family... Michael Joseph Jackson was truly THE KING of POP. Michael will be greatly missed, and he is a one hundred percent original artist. There is none, and never will be an artist like the great Michael Jackson. Many copy Michael Jackson, but none can even come close to him... I love you Michael Jackson, and I pray for the Jackson family and all of their friends. I pray that Jesus bless the family in every way needed, and wanted. I pray that Jesus gives the Jackson family peace, joy, and rest. This was VERY shocking to hear that Michael Jackson is gone. So let this be a lesson to us all, to live our lives greatly for Jesus Christ and pray our souls is in line with God when God comes to get us and take us home. AND PLEASE let us not remember the negative RUMORS about Michael Jackson, but the positive things he done for this world. Because NO ONE in this entire world is pure and completely sinless. We all fall short to the glory of the Lord. So lets celebrate Michaels Jackson's life. And let us pray for peace, rest, and joy for the Jackson family, because its hard looseing the one you love. So my last words I say is... PLEASE don't judge because NO ONE is perfect and I LOVE YOU Michael Jackson and I LOVE YOU to the entire Jackson family. Jesus save, bless, and keep you all. Much LOVE. (R.I.P. Michael Joseph Jackson, 1958-2009)

Yanick Smith   June 26th, 2009 4:16 am ET

I have been a fan since the first time I heard the Jackson 5. I am two years younger than Micheal. My friends and I would argue over who was going to be his wife. I am so sad and hurt because this great man is gone. Not forgotten just not here in person but will always live on in our hearts and souls. I feel that he has been a life long friend and as much as I wlll celebrate his life. I will mourn our loss. My daughter Erica cried all day, he was her first crush. We will love and remember you always.

Amal   June 26th, 2009 4:23 am ET

MJ will be missed .............his songs will live forever!!!! He is a legend!!!

Danny   June 26th, 2009 4:47 am ET

it wasn't until Michael's death that i began to understand some things about him..his love for children, abuse allegations notwithstanding, is perfectly understandable to someone who, understanding, also had a love for children..this has made me realize that not everyone who's the victim of abuse grows up to be a Freudian cliche: instead, there's never enough you can do for a child in need – misinterpreted by those with other goals in mind..

i can't be objective in thinking the abuse Michael suffered at his father's hands may not be true..it being entirely possible, i can say, from experience that perhaps the worst part of being abused is people knowing and doing nothing about it..

the abuse being true, all i can say is Joe Jackson killed his son..may he rot where he stands, and may Michael finally have the peace he's earned...
