It's so extremely sad to hear of Michael's passing. It's a shock indeed! He was a great artist and made some awesome music!! There will never be anyone like him. I've been watching CNN all day watching y'alls coverage of him and can't wait to see what you have planned for 360.

I have wonderful memories of Michael Jackson. His music was the soundtrack of my childhood. Let us not forget in the sadness of his loss, the life and death struggle facing the people of Iran. Hope you will keep those blogs going

I remember when I was 6 or 7 and I was helping my brothers and my mom clean out our basement and I found a record at the bottom of a shelf and I asked my mom "Who's Michael Jackson Thriller?" and she laughed at me and put the record on. That day she showed me a taped playing from MTV of Thriller and then Billie Jean and... the singing, the theatrics, the fashion, the MOONWALK. I was hypnotized.

years later, now I remember seeing the whole trial thing with Michael Jackson and the kids at school talking about it but I know that they all love Beat It and Billie Jean and they all wish they could moonwalk. Michael Jackson left mixed messages with millions of people but one thing no one can deny is that he left an impression on so many people – I don't think anyone else will ever impact as many people as Michael did. Michael Jackson is truly the King of Pop as much as Elvis in the King of Rock'n'Roll. He's undeniable.

I worked with Michael several times, in fact, I directed and produced the Man in the Mirror video among other projects. He was very generous, caring and spared no expense to produce the projects the right way. I witnessed an amazing thing when we were discussing the theme of Man in the Mirror the day after Thanksgiving in the attic of his manager's home in Encino. They were discussing how things had gone with an operation to get cash to the LIFE organization in LA after thieves had stolen the food stores that were to be fed to the homeless that Thanksgiving. Michael had sent a large sum of cash to feed those people, and I was told, and believed, that he sent the cash anonymously. He could be a little strange, but I stood backstage and watched the guy move and sing on stage like no other in history.

I must admit, after my initial gasp and saddness that this icon had passed, I only thought, 'oh no, this will totally dominate the news tonight, and proper Iran coverage will be by the wayside.'

Of course I recognize that Jackson was a great talent, but I don't think his death merits constant coverage. I hope AC360 contributes some world news tonight, and not just round-the-clock MJ.

Today we lost much of a our generation and youthfulness... and of my adolescence.

The style that Michael Jackson created in the dance and music was unique and revolutionary.

Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, The Girl Is Mine, Rock With You ... the songs are so unforgettable ... it is difficult to have a favorite!

We lost a legend of the music world. Despite all the problems that Michael Jackson had, nobody can deny the contribution he gave to the music, dance and behavior of a generation. Michael Jackson will always be an idol.

here is a little something for you to think about. During the eighties when Michael was at his height, do you know his music was band in Saudi Abrabia. Michael was more popular then the King as as a result his music was band. To many young saudis were dressling like Michael.

The song "Ben" always comes to mind When I think of Michael Jackson. I don't know why, but there's something about that song. The way he sang it always brought me to tears. I guess I can relate to its message, of knowing who your true friends are. And the true friends I can count on, I can count with one hand. When I first heard it, I remember thinking, "Wow, what a voice!". We love you forever Michael. God bless you.

Our daughter who will be 23 and our son who is 17 both learned very early on the music of Michael Jackson. Our daughter actually was able to recognize at a very young age (before she could actually walk) a song by Michael within the first bar....she became an excellent saxophone player; our son was introduced to Michael's music by his sister...he became an excellent drummer. My husband and I had the opportunity to see Michael two nights in a row in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium. These two evenings were at the top of our lists of concerts we attended.

Our daughter has already decided that her first son will either be named Michael or Jackson her daughter Marley.

He will always be remembered.

Michael Jackson was the Elvis Presley of my generation! Truly a Legend who will be truly missed.

Another piece of my generation has been lost once again. Being I was born in 1956 I have followe Michael Jackson's career from the get go. I remember The Jackson Five on the Ed Sullivan Show and then the eventual rise of Michael as a solo artist. I remember watching Farrah Fawcett and watching her weekly, I remember watching the Tonight Show and hearing :"Heeeeeere's Johnny"... So sad to lose all these people basically at the same time. It truly does at my age bring about your own mortality and the reality of it.

There are 3 extra stars in the sky tonight, one for each of these 3 souls that have left this earthly plain. My heart goes out to each ot their families and friends and to Michael, Farrah and Ed, THANK YOU FOR BEING WHO YOU WERE and being part of my life.

I'm only a few years younger than Michael and I grew up listening and loving him as an entertainer. I saw him 3 times in concert. The 1st was in the early 70's when he was still a young boy. My sympathy to his family. There will NEVER be another like him (for me, at least). Rest in peace, Michael.

I also hope that you did not choose to do two hours live just because of the tragic death of two icons today. It seems odd that you would do two hours live because of this and not because of other world events, but that's just my opinion.

I am devastated by the world's loss of the great Michael Jackson, easily the best singer/performer of my generation, perhaps ever. I cried and cried when I heard. I am so glad I saw him appear in concert in 1984 at Giant's Stadium with his brothers. He was amazing!

I feel like I've just lost my childhood. This man's music got me through SO many rough times and kept me company during my lonely childhood. I know that people are saying that his death does not call for constant coverage, but excuse me, we've lost the single most influential person in music to date. There's not a pop/R&B artist who has not been inspired by this man. Yes, we are going through hell right now in the world, but right now, we need to take the time to remember this man. This is the saddest day of my life of finding out he died at 50 but now he is in a better place.

as a child i remember the absolute breathlessness one felt when watching michael take the stage..trying to imitate his moves spinning around until ones head hurt...i haven't thought much about michael jackson these days..but today i looked at my own 7 month old daughter and thought this is what my mother felt when elvis died..the idea that my daughter wouldn't get to experience the artistry and craft that was michael jackson brought to a live performance...a major part of my childhood died today,,,and yes this thirty year old woman did watch the thriller video today and as when she was five years old spun around until her head hurt

Michael Jackson was an amazing talent.
Anderson Cooper just released a photo on CNN 360 less than a few minutes ago of Michael with an oxygen mask and I think he was in the ambulance...not sure. I am shocked that photo was released. This is disrespectful and wrong. Bad move and completely out of line!!! Show some respect for Michael's family who are shocked and devastated. Most importantly, let this man rest in peace.

I'm watching your show, Anderson. I noticed the short video of Michael Jackson dangling his newborn baby over a balcony in Berlin. I am an 11 year old and it reminded me of the scene From the Lion King movie when the newborn, soon to be king, Simba, was being shown to the animals. Maybe Michael Jackson was showing his newborn in the same way to the people. After all Michael Jackson was a king in a different way.

Michael Jackson was one entertainer that made me feel good with Every song he sang. It is rare that a music artist like him could be world wide known and loved by many many people. I have adored Michael Jackson since I was 6 (he was 11) and he is the epitome of Peter Pan to me. What the media judged as wrong was his simple adoration of childhood. If you come from a dysfunctional family ,where the parents exploit you for their own gain, then you may appreciate that he tried every method possible to regain his own childhood!

I remember a girl in my 4th grade class in 1971 brought a Jackson 5 album and played "Rockin Robin" and when I heard that song I loved it and have loved the Jacksons and Michael ever since.. I am so sad and will never for get Michael Jackson ! RIP Michael!!!

Today is as sad a day as the day Elvis died Micheal has been an influence to me because he wanted to do something unique with music as do I the difference in our feelings is he did it through pop im doing it through guitar in metal. May he forever rest in peace.

You can say a lot about Micheal jackson- both good and bad, but I never met a fan of his that he had a bad affect on. I have friends in China. When they first saw him in the 1990's they in saw in him, life as they never dreamned it could be. When I called my friend threre and told him the news, he sobbed. For Micheal jackson's last two birthday's he printed fliers about Micheal, and passed them out to passers-by in busy downtown Chongqing. My friend never believed the molestation charges. Micheal gave him hope.

i was a fan in the eighties and up until his strange troubles started. It seems that his death has smoothed over the weird acts and deeds that brought him into the spotlight. I hate when that happens. Remember when noone liked him? Now all of a sudden everyone is devestated that hes gone.

Michael Jackson will surely be remembered as the music icon that he was. As a young child in the home of Indian immigrants, it was amazing how the images and the sounds of Michael Jackson pervaded our home and managed to awe even my parents. I think I was 8 when he first moonwalked across the stage and I remember my mouth falling open as I ran to wake my father to try and explain how he had just glided backward across the stage. I was so disappointed that my dad had missed it! I remember that while my brother was 6 years older than me and there was a cultural divide in our home that his image and sounds never failed to bring us together. Twenty-two years later, my husband agreed that when they first announced us as Mr. and Mrs. Davis at our wedding reception – that we could walk out – or I should say dance/moonwalk out to Billie Jean – my all time favorite song. As a 33 year old professional – this all seems silly but that song will always get me on the dance floor. Just as he managed to capture people of all cultures and languages, he managed to capture people of varying ages, social status and professions with his music. He will truly be missed.

I had the privilege of performing for Michael and his guests who frequented Walt Disney World’s Hoop Dee Doo Review during 1983-85. I only hope that Michael left our performances with some of the same feelings of joy and happiness that he has left me, my fellow performers, and the millions of fans worldwide who have come to hear his music and lyrics, witness his dancing and vocal talents and feel his unparalleled enthusiasm and energy that will continue to live on through the generations.

I just wanted to say that I have alwayz loved Michael in a special way and I and watching the news and I am crying inside. If my mom saw me crying she would say "Taylor omg you dont even know the man" But I still know him from his hit single thriller!!! I just miss him in the world and having him on the news. Last time I can remember a death hitting the world like this, in terms of entertainment, was when we lost Elvis Presley. I dare say the funeral for Mr. Jackson will be much, much bigger. I remember being a kid and the Jackson 5 Victory tour kicking off in my hometown of Kansas City and begging my parents to at least take me and my younger brother to sit in the parking lot at Arrowhead Stadium to at least be able to hear them play since the show was sold out. We didn't get to go, but a friend of mine that went brought me back a t-shirt and saw pictures taken! I was such a huge fan of the "Thriller" album and was so devastated that I wasn't able to go see him in concert!

I've been watching coverage of Michael Jackson's passing for the last 4 hours. Its been very sad and seems unreal. At the same time I can't say I'm surprised. I never picture michael jackson as an old man.

I am so saddened to hear of Micheal's passing. I was born in the late 80's but I still grew up listening to Michael and watching him on TV. He was the icon of my generation, and there will never be a man like him again. His music will live on long after his passing.

I am not surprised that his death is being compared to Elvis. He was the Elvis of our time. There was no person in between the two that had as much influence on music and pop culture as Micheal had.
Throughout the past few years and his struggles, I felt bad for Micheal. He was very misunderstood.

I will never forget the first time I saw Michael, when I was 7 years old at Disneyland, watching Captain Eo in 3D. Ever since then, I have been a Micheal fan and I will die a Micheal fan.

This has been a day. First the news about Farrah Faucett and then Michael Jackson. I did not realize how much his death affected me until CNN began showing footage of him performing as a kid. It took me back to my child hood and growing up listening to him. I was fortunate to be able to see him perform at RFK Stadium. He had his faults but her entertained and made many people happy.

My son passed away at 22 years old recently from a rare cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma. I had 319 days since diagnosis. I am grieving this tremendous loss. To hear of Farrah and her struggle to fight her insiduous disease and to lose it, I am so very, very sad. Then to hear of Michael Jackson, the boy my step sons listented to (and myself) on family vacations, and to see his wonderful dancing....I am so incredibly sad today. I don't really know how to handle a day like today, grieving still for my own beautiful boy, but I do understand how Farrah's family and the Jackson family feel and I grieve tonight for them also.

I grew up listening to Michael during all the racial stuggles in the south, he helped us all cross the barrier to understand that we were all people, it didn't matter the color of our skin. You can say a lot about Micheal jackson- both good and bad, but I never met a fan of his that he had a bad affect on. I have friends in China. When they first saw him in the 1990’s they saw in him, life as they never dreamed it could be. When I called my friend threre and told him the news, he sobbed. For Micheal jackson’s last two birthdays he printed fliers about Micheal, and passed them out to passers-by in busy downtown Chongqing. My friend never believed the molestation charges. Micheal gave him hope.He said that now he feels lost.

I loved Micheal Jackson. He was so cute when he was a little boy. And when he was grown. When I heard what happened I cried like a baby. I will miss him so much.

It is so sad what has happened to Michael Jackson. I remember seeing him on the Ed Sullivan show years ago. I am 10 years older than Michael. It's a shame he didn't get to have a happy normal life. I also think it's ashame how he was treated by his father when he was young ,that set him up for the rest of his life. I hope he is happy in death. I saw Michael Jackson perform in Concert in the 80's. It was the best Live Concert performance I have ever seen. Today the world lost a legend...Today is a sad day.

My memories of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 are of a childhood filled with innocence of playing outside with other neighborhood kids, listening to records and making up our own dance routines just like the Jackson 5. I remember that my sister and I woudl buy "Right On" magazine just for their giant posters of the Jackson 5...I would hang Jermaine over my bed and my sister would hang Michael and Marlon...May MIchael can finally rest and have true peace. I can't believe that we have listened to 9 hours of coverage of M.J. death and hardly a word about Farrah Fawcett 's passing . Were is the equal and unbiased coverage now. Shame on you CNN.

Why is CNN neglecting to speak about the sexual abuse accusations? Accused wrongly once, maybe twice, but when accused as many times as jackson, it makes you go hmmmm. Shame on you CNN. The other news networks are not much better.

The story should be, "a very talented but extremely suspicious and creepy man died today".

I'm not sure why everyone has forgotten that this man was accused numerous times of sexually abusing children (maybe more than we know). He was never convicted but neither was OJ (at least his first public drama). Like OJ, jackson had large financial reserves that helped prove his innocence or escape justice (will never know I guess). One thing is for sure, I wouldn't allow that man need my children ... would you?

when i was young i was listening to his music and he was like a star back then. when he was on tv with his brothers and a they where popular i was like a big fan. the day he came out with thriller we all had such a good time. he was like one of the best singers out there and he became the king of pop. he seemed like he went so far to make it big in the world. now that he has passed away it is hard for a lot of us to see he is gone. i found out this after noon early evening from a friend that he passed away and it was about 6 pom est in florida and it is now hard to see him go.

A piece of my childhood has died with him. He was a legend, but thankfully his music gets to stay with us and he will be in a better place. My father and I are both shocked and still can't believe it. But I am hoping that CNN will stop showing that last picture of MJ because thats not how we, as fans, want to remember him.

I saw Michael Jackson on September 10, 2001 at Madison Square Garden, when he performed for a reunion with his brothers. He was as good that day as he was as a teenager. I was mesmerized by his ability to captivate the audience and truly make a connection to each person in the audience. I love him so much.

I was tremendously shocked to hear that our Modern Jesus died today, God truly had blessed Michael and worked through him. Michael was not only a person, he was also my friend. I have never meet him in person, but when i was growing up he help me in more then one way. his music was all that i had in my house. Everytime my family got home i would always count on him to make everything better. when his man in the mirror came out I was only 7 and that is where i found my happy place. His music was not just music to me. I herd the words. and that means more to me is the words, not the sound. I will miss him very much and one day we will finally meet.

I am still in shock and it is so surreal. I am actually at a loss for words. I have always been a fan. This is like when Elvis died. You remember where you were, what you were doing, what you said and you just sat there and watched TV and tried to understand it all.

I am totally devastated by the death of Michael Jackson. I cannot stop crying, and I feel like I lost a member of my family, and perhaps I did. I was hoping when I came home from work, and heard that Michael was dead, and then heard on another station that he was still alive, but in a coma that there was hope.
I am a 61 year old african american woman on the east coast, who introduced my young daughters to Michael and his brothers when I thought thery were too interested in Shawn Cassidy.
I took them to see The Jackson five in concert at the Providence Civic Center and they were hooked. I often partied to Michael's music in the 80's, and those were good times.
In the last few years my grandaughters became big fans of his, which surprised me.
My entire family is devastated at this news, and it will take us a while to come to terms with it. We will pray for Michael's family, and we want them to know that we have lost someone dear to us also. It won't be easy, but we can get through this together. We loved Michael Jackson very much, and we have a deep hole in our heart at this time. Stay strong!

Today is a very sad day. I agree with the people that are questioning the importance of MJ and why arent the troubles in Iran being aired but you need to remember what country you live in. The majority of the people in America dont care about people in need or other countries. Many people care about people that have money and dont need any attention but yet thats mainly whats on the news. We hear more about celebrities then we do stuff that really matters. I was a fan of Michael Jackson in the 70's and 80's. I watched him as part of The Jackson 5 and as a solo artist. I remember the Jackson 5 cartoon show, their performance on American Bandstand, his performance on Motown's 25 anniversary, his videos, his album Thriller, his great voice his amazing dancing, his trial four years ago, etc.

It was a shock he died. It was just like when Elvis died – remember that too. In some ways his life paralelled Elvis. He never got to make his big comeback.

Today my heart sunk when I heard of the death of beloved musician & human being, Michael Jackso n. In my home, all tv's are tuned in to CNN to mourn the loss & feel closer to other fans. I never can say good bye, I will think about the good times. I learned late in life how gifted and talented of a man you really were. Listing to Man in the Mirror changed my attitude toward so many people and life experiences. I want to thank you. I wish the Jackson family strength in this time of need. Not to take all the spotlight from Farrah Fawcett because of her death being overshadowed by that of Michael Jackson....... She was a childhood crush of mine, seeing her in Charlie's Angels (the original).

Over time she was unfortunate enough to be stricken by one of the worst diseases ever and to have succumbed to it; a disease that takes so many of us, and has ravaged even my mother (although in my Mum's case unsuccessfully – go Mum!).

I pass my condolences to her family and other loved ones! May she also rest in peace and be in a happier place with no pain!

I was in shock when I first heard this .I couldn't believe it. I thought, " it's another rumor. He's fine. He's back home practicing for his upcoming tour. " He wasn't. Once I realized he was dead I broke into tears. I've cried on and off all day, discussing the loss of this amazing musician with fellow fans, and listening to his music non-stop. I still don't think it has sunk comepletley. I still look up at the screen and my heart sinks when I see the words, " Michael Jackson is dead " , or " Remembering Michael Jackson. " He wanted to live forever, and in a way he will. His music will live on forever. It's terrible that he has passed before his tour. He was going to make his come back, I know it. I finally calmed down enough to write something. My God, I just can't believe he's really gone. I was only 13 years old when I first heard his music on the "Ed Sullivan Show", and I was hookedever since!!! I hope that we remember this man for his music, and not for all the stupid false accusations made against him through the years. I hope we remember him for his talent, and not for his bizarre way of life. I hope we remember him for his dancing (moonwalk) and not for what the circus media made up about him. To say that I am saddened and in shock in the passing of Michael Jackson is an understatement. This man had been a better part of my childhood growing up in Jamaica. I remember the first song I heard – 'Beat It' on the radio and I called my mother who was living in the states to bring when she came to visit me the album that had this song on it. My childhood fantasy love affair began once I listened to the whole album of Thriller over and over...

What preteen or teenager girl did not dream of being Mrs. Michael Jackson? Well I grew up loving ALL of his songs. Love to dance to the ones of the 80s and was inspired to try to make a difference in the 90s with songs on race, child abuse, starvation and peace. Yes, all these and more were in his songs and I loved him more for it.

Michael I pray that the world will remember you for the love you had for people from all over the world and your deepest desire for peace and love for each other you brought out in your songs. I would just like to say that everyone needs to remember what Michael Jackson has done for the world. Not just his music and dance but he was also a humanitarian. I grew up with his music from the time he was 6 years old until now. I am the same age as Michael Jackson an when I saw it on the news I did not believe what I was seeing. My daughter at the age of four us to sing his song (When I H ad You) at family gathering she called me from Hawii and asked if it was true I told her yes it was. He made a big impression on on the world and he will be missed. This is a sad, sad day. My heart goes out to his family.

This is going to be one of those moments when one remembers where they were when they heard the news of Michael Jackson. There is much sadness with the passing of this very talanted person. Who knows if he would have had a comeback, I like to think that it would have happened for him. There is such a sadness it the video clip shown when he talks about his final curtain call and he tell the audience that he loves them from the botton of his heart. Then he repeats it, and you can almost feel the loneliness in his life in this statement. A very talented man and my heart and prayers goes out to his family and his children. I pray that the media is kind and leaves them alone in their grief, although, I am aware this will not happen. I just hope that people can remember what Michael brought to the world in his music and how he brought people together with his talent. All of the negative comments, and there will be many I am sure, because that is what some of the media does, I hope will be at a minimum. I also want to comment on the death of Farrah. It is sad that she has lost her battle with this horrible disease. I saw Ryan O'Neal on TV yesterday saying that she had finally said yes and they were going to get married as soon as she was strong enough. I hope, for them, that this happened for them before her passing to another stage of where ever the soul is destined to go. I admire the fact that she was able to make the film that she did regarding her treatments in order to help others going through the same thing. Michael Jackson left the world a lot more loving and kind than before he entered it....He lent a tenderness within our hearts; those of us lucky enough to have actually felt the tender love flowing from his incredibly high and silky smooth vocal notes that seemed to move like a beautiful ballet of sound and that was SO sweet his tender voice just went through me on too many songs to count.

Many will remember Michael's electrifying dance moves and rightfully so, but it was Michael's vocals that pierced my heart with a tenderness that gave me an overwhelming sense of peace, heightened love and an extremely warm feeling of gentleness and calm.

Michael left me a more gentle child growing up listening to his gentle and beautiful soul from within and as a man he contributed to many of our romantic sensitivities. I'm a better and more loving person because of hearing this lovely man's very precious and beautiful soul.

MJ was AWESOME! He was like no other entertainer in the world. God give the family a peace to make it through this great lost. I'm at a loss of words....I just don't know what to feel. My heart really goes out to those kids. He was in one word PHENOMENAL!

My immediate reaction was 'Genius is next to insanity' so I Googled it. Apparently no such quotation really exists. The best I could find was Senaca's: There is no great genius without some touch of madness.

Michael Jackson was clearly such an enigma:

His music was transcendant and revolutionary: I courted my second wife in the 1980s to the strains of 'Ben'. Who would ever have guessed that this was a song about a rat!!

He was iconoclastic in many dimensions.

Unfortunately, of late, the world's tabloid predeliction for his cosmetic surgery foibles, and the far-right's (unsubstantiated ) suggestion of pedophilia, surpassed his true brilliance/genius in transforming, nay metamorphosising, music as we knew it.

We are, as a nation, far less for such media-driven drivel.

We don't get to see too many Michael Jacksons in one lifetime. He stands alongside such giants as Mozart.

And, just like Mozart, we don't have to like the whole package but we should acknowledge the, essentially, instantaneous change that this individual wrought in our lives. Transcenent change is rarely free of cost. Michael Jackson's personal idiosyncracies are, I would suggest, more the artifacts of the tabloid world in which we live, and thus quite easily forgiven given the enormity of the change that he catalyzed.

People in the World worshiped Michael for his unique persona and incomparable charisma. But America did not treat him right, people gave him hard time for his success, followed him everywhere for right or wrong reasons and made him a prisoner of his own fame and success. The man was a GENIUS!!! In addition, he was a sweet, kind and child-like innocent human being who had a heart of gold and loved children but some greedy people took advantage of his kindness and openness to let their children come into his World. I am very discouraged and at how the news media picks and choose what they think that we need to watch. I think that Anderson should have split his show equally between both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett death. Farrah fought a very long and hard battle with cancer, she is truly now one of God's angels. As far as Michael Jackson we will never really know the truth about his actions about the child abuse case. He will finally have his day in the highest court there is. God will judge him for what he did on earth.

I have a thought to share. By going through the news in various channels which is currently praising Jackson and various people sharing the news of how he was feeling very lonely, can't that have been proactively applied by media when he was alive to encourage him and give positive thoughts about him. I feel some time spent on a coverage like that might have helped. By watching his interview with O'Reilly we can see how sad he feels when people are reading wrong news about him. Feeling really sad whether there were some ways which could have helped and we had missed.

I was horribly shocked and saddened with the news of Michael Jackson's death. I literally grew up with him, the Jackson 5, and his music. In fact, an immense amount of the childhood joy I experienced was listening to Michael and even imitating (and performing!) his songs and music. He was an incredible and extraordinary talent that the music world will never see again and I was blessed to see him grow up and share his musical gifts with the world. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. I will never forget him and the joy he brought to my life.

I am so devisated. I can't stop crying. I grew up with Michael. He was only 2 years older than me. I remember the first time I ever heard his music. It made me so happy. Through out my life I have listened to his music. From ABC to Thriller and beyond. My son who is now 19 loved his music too. He used to try to dress and dance just like him when he was young. He got blisters on his toes fron trying to imitate his Billie Jean performance. We all want to believe our idols are indestructible. It is devistating to us when they are not. He will be missed. He is gone much too young.

As I sit and read I just cry. I am mad at him for leaving us. My heart is broken. The pain will go away but my love will always be with him. I will see him again

Today is one of the saddest days in music /cultural history. His amazing catelogue of music has been the soundtrack for so many of our lives and his loss has left many of us in shock. With the state of the music industry, I think it can clearly be said that with Michael's passing it has suffered it's final blow. Michael is only 7 years older than me, and he has always been an inspiration to me. Even in the 80's when he was at the peak of his solo career. It is unfortunate that he was surrounded by controversy and it will follow him even in death, but what those that speak negatively about Michael Jackson cannot dispute is that this man was arguably one of the most talented person of his time. It would have been refreshing to see him back on stage in July, but as eerie as it sounds, Michael called his own curtain call when he announced it during his press conference. He will always live on, but life, as they say, goes on.

Michael was the first teen idol of color for young girls in the late 60's and early 70's. I still love all the J5 songs and wish I had saved all my TigerBeat and 16 mags. He definitely blurred the color barrier during a very turbulent time in history. As we grew up, he didn't. It's a shame that he didn't get to experience the normal youth and teen years or the struggles of the average person making their way through their 20's, 30's and 40's. I just turned 50 and can sense my own mortality more vividly today. God bless Michael and his children. Rest in Peace.

I remember listening to Michael Jackson when I was only 4 or 5 and knew that he was very special. I used to think that it was funny or fun to laugh at all those jokes about him, but when I heard he died I knew that i would never laugh at another Jackson parody. Listening to his music got me through a lot of hard times, I even did a paper on "Beat It" for my media studies class. And I just recently I started listening to his music again and it never went out of style. Thank you Michael for your music and your kind heart. I grew up listening to Michael. His music is the sound track of my generation. I remember being age 13, in 1972,when The Jackson Five came in concert to The Municipal Auditorium,in Nashville, Tn.;Michael was 14. In spite of his financial and legal troubles; I was looking forward to his re-emergence onto the stage and live performances. On a human scale,his death is a huge and tragic loss for the world,not just musically. It's sad to think of him as a young precocious child, so full of life, innocent;to think that he may have been depressed,lonely and having a dependency on drugs or pain killers is almost to sad to comprehend what forces; demons, from without or within may have brought him to that point. He was all too human,like all of us. He loved, he was loved, and he had a soul,which has gone home to God. His was a talent that only comes along once; we were blessed to be able to enjoy and celebrate his talents and gifts.May God bless his family. Good Night sweet Michael, May you Rest in Peace!

I remember as a little girl watching Michael and dancing to his music. (I'm 29 now) My parents bought me the Thriller album, which I still have today. That album is a timeless treasure and the video is a classic! The news of his passing has truly saddened me and others around the world today. I'd just like to say thank you to Michael for all of the contributions he has made, both in the music world and in the world itself. THANK YOU! You're truly one in a million. .

Since childhood when i begun listening music, I have been enjoying Michael Jackson's unforgettable songs...i have first cried when i saw the "thriller" video, yet it was very creative and outstanding. Through out his hole album, he had such a brilliant work and that drives many of us crazy. where i am from people doesn't really listen to such music back in a days,yet Michael Jackson's great collections were herd by millions. I am very sad today to hear about his sudden death. Indeed, He is irreplaceable and his work remains legend to the end.

Tonight I can't help but think of what my dad said about working with Michael Jackson on Thriller.
He had met Michael when he was a teenager and they had been on the same talk show. So, a decade or so later, when Quincy Jones called and asked him to come make a record with Jackson, he said, "Sure, I'll do anything. That sounds fun." He went into the studio and recorded a small "rap", though he really had no idea what a rap was. . . And then Thriller came out and sold 40 million copies!
There he was, Vincent Price, at 72 years old, an icon in the movie business when Michael Jackson was really just re-entering the music scene as an adult. And suddenly this record becomes the biggest-selling record of all time. It blew his mind.
Michael Jackson created a whole new kind of fame–one so pervasive that it transcended (as we can see tonight) everything he later went through and became.
Later on my dad said, "I didn't do it for the money. It was just fun to do! But, you know to be identified with the most popular record ever made has really done me a lot of good, because it has given me a new audience." And it did–he will forever be associated with making one of the most iconic albums of all time.
At the end of the day, for all his amazing contributions to music, dance, charity, I wonder if Michael Jackson may end up best being remembered for redefining global celebrity.

Even though I was born in 1991, when I was first introduce to Michael Jackson's music I was automaticly excited about his music, and I loved every song he came out with. And even though he's gone now I will still continue to listen to his music, I will always keep him in my memory.

You know I cried. I remember listening to his "45"records with my sis and cousins, we had the poster where he had on the yellow suit, belts, gloves, watched his videos. I remember being 6 when Thriller was released, I was scared of it, but watched because I loved Michael. His songs move me and take me back to a simpler, time in life. This is a sad day I'll never forget. I lost 3 people I loved. My Cousin, Farrah Fawcet and the awesome Lovable Michael Jackson.
I hope that the parents of other child stars realize that love is the most important thing. There is no reason he should have been so lonely with all those family members.

I finally calmed down enough to write something. My God, I just can’t believe he’s really gone. I was only 11 years old when I first heard his music on the “Ed Sullivan Show”, and I was hooked ever since!!! I hope that we remember this man for his music, and not for all the stupid false accusations made against him through the years. I hope we remember him for his talent, and not for his bizarre way of life. I hope we remember him for his dancing (moonwalk) and not for what the circus media made up about him. Just like there was only one King of Rock & Roll (Elvis Presley), there was only one King of Pop, Michael Jackson. There will never, ever be anyone like him ever again!! I followed his music from songs like “ABC, ” and I’ll be there”, etc. to “Thriller”, “Diana” and “Dangerous”, etc. I have all his albums, and all his music videos! I always have been and always will be “a hard-core fan” until the end of my days. I only had enough money to go to one concert The Victory” concert in Jacksonville, but it was worth saving every penny to make the drive from Tampa, FL. We love you Michael.

What a tragic end to such a talented man. I, like many others, grew up listening to and watching Michael & the Jackson 5. Michael was such a talented singer, dancer, songwriter, performer. I have continued to listen to his music over the years and was always amazed how gifted Michael was. My oldest daughter was involved in dance for 20 years & it was GREAT to watch the children in the studio listen & dance to Michael's music. As a "dance mom" I especially enjoyed it when my group was chosen to dance to "Thriller." These were children, boys and girls, ages 9-12, who had the time of their life dancing to this song. What impressed me was that they knew the song, they knew Michael Jackson & they wanted to dance to the song.
We must not let these last few years of his life overshadow what Michael did for the music industry. Michael was & still is a music icon & legend in his own time. Just like the Beatles & Elvis Presley...there will NEVER be another Michael Jackson.
My only hope is that Michael is finally at peace and surrounded by the love he desperately searched for.

Growing up in the 70's ,I can't help but remember Farrah Fawcett and the sensation she created,with her fablulous mane of hair and her flawless smile. Her legacy is not just Charlie's Angels,she proved that she could truly act,and wasn't just another pretty face. It's sad to think of the pain and anguish she endured during her illness. It's wonderful that Ryan O'neal hung in there with her and was there right up to the end;that's admirable. In my mind's eye,she will remain beautiful young;flawless; a true angel! May she rest in peace and God be with her family.

Michael we can all agree was misunderstood, I grew up with him and have so proudly shared his life with my children. What a privleage to have grown up in this time. I just want to say that Michael Jackson was an "Entertainer's Entertainer" and should be remebered as such and much more. I truly feel that although we are all in shock of this amazing man's untimely passing that we should celebrate his life and legacy by listening to his music, dancing, and singing. He has given all of his life to entertaining us, it is time for us to put on a show and entertain for him. So, I say let's dance, let's shout , and shack our bodies down to the ground to show Micheal Joseph Jackson our appreciation for him and the talents that he has so graciously shared with us for decades.

I was born in a remote small town in west africa. Even there Michael Jackson's music touched our lives.

This is all so sudden! To sudden! This has not really hit me yet. My family called to see if I was ok. I still have Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad on vinyl (despite the fact that I don't have a record player). Prayers to the Jackson family. I can't imagine what his mother is going through at this time.

The media is talking about his last CD as if it was a flop. I purchased it after I heard it playing at a friends gathering. It's very easy to listen to, great for the ride to work! If you don't have it, I recommend that you go and get it.

In between all that he was clearly a disturbed person and somewhat freakish as many " entertainers" are.
The media coverage is excessive and the fans re-action as well and will interfere in a what should be a very private family matter at least foe now. His records and past achievements will live on without all the blah blah blah. You even have to raise before there is any real evidence to support it that his death may not have been " natural causes" that's appalling!! The hospital said cardiac arrest why oh why cant you wait for the official autopsy.... oh I forgot "first to know"

Michael Jackson is undeniably the greatest entertainer of all times. He will live in our hearts forever through his music. A legend in his own right, Michael Jackson has left us much too soon. It's difficult to believe that he has actually passed away. Irregardless of what many thought about his idiosyncrasises, Michael Jackson was extremely talented and brilliant, and no one can take his accomplishments away from him. He was an extraordinary performer with admiration that transcended through several generations globally. For those that couldn't get past his outward appearance and preferred to call attention to that instead of his talent, I say that I feel sorry for you. I'm sorry that you didn't get the opportunity enjoy pure entertainment. I simply see his character flaw as a yearning for the childhood that he didn't really have. It's a shame that those closest to him could not have gotten Michael to commit to counseling. If I had the honor of  knowing him, that's what I would have attempted to do. Michael was two years younger than I. My husband and I exposed our children to the Jackson's music as they grew up. They called today, both shocked and devastated, just as others were around the world. There will be no other entertainer like him. God Bless you Michael, and thank you for your contributions to the entertainment industry and our history. God Bless the entire Jackson Family!

We must also take time to mourn the death of Farah Fawcett. I remember her, Jaclyn Smith & Kate Jackson bursting on to our television set in "Charlie's Angels." What a gorgeous trio they were & it was great to have woman accepted for having brains as well as looks! I also remember how all the guys went crazy over that famous poster!!!
I watched Farah's recent documentary on television about her fight with cancer. As I watched, I kept saying to myself, "What a fighter she is and how determined she was to beat this horrible disease."
It is sad this beautiful woman is no longer here. We will miss that SMILE and her courage. My prayers go out to Ryan and Redmond and the rest of her family. Rest in peace Farah....

Michael Jackson, the Legend, has passed away. The only thing that shocked me more today was the fact that ABC would choose Martin Bashir to do a special about Jackson. Bashir is the papparazzi journalist, who made his name on betraying MJ's trust. It is absolutely ABSURD!

It is tragic, and not so suprising as the suddenness, for those who might remember Karen Carpenter and how very frail she was at the end of her life. I think Michael led an extremely lonely and tragic life. It hurts my heart to think of anyone so beloved and unloved all at the same time. Be at peace Michael.

I find it astounding that on a 24/7 news channel I cannot seem to actually find news,instead I see a two hour special on a muscians' untimely death,the story should cover no more than 10 min at most.Unless I'm terribly mistaken and CNN has reformed itself to be Entertainment Tonight.It's unfortunate that more national and world news can be found on a statirical news show like ' The Daily Show '.5 min on MJ is news to a degree,2 hrs is mere gossip.

With a large expensive comeback tour planned, doesn't the Insurance company require a complete Physical of the Star/s? Just like a Movie company requires? If so, what were the results? Michael has looked unhealthy for quite awhile. And if he was taking large doses of prescription drugs wouldn't that show up also...or at least set off a red flag? Michael Jackson should be remembered as a talented muscian who molested little boys. Nothing more and nothing less.

Michael Jackson never knew that while he did not have a real childhood, we didn't either! Michael Jackson' songs, music and dances were the one thing that kept us going in the late 1970/ early 1980 in Iran. We listened to his music, we learned the steps of his moon walk dance and we pretended we weren't in Iran. Michael helped us, then tweens and later teenagers, escape the turmoil and horror of a revolution and a war by becoming kids again. The fear of getting arrested by the Guardians of Revolution was nothing compared to being able to watch him on videocassettes, so we would spend all our money, risk getting arrested by the Guards, to buy his videocassettes and cassettes at the black market. Boy was it worth it! He had revolutionized the music industry, there was nothing like it. It is ironic that I heard of his passing when my people are getting killed, once more, in Iran. May you rest in peace Mr. Jackson, thank you for helping my friends and I, and God bless you.

As a 40 year old, I vividly remember my grade-school teacher coming to work and crying the day after Elvis Presley died. I remember not understandin why. Naturally, as the years passed, I grew a TREMENDOUS appreciation for the King!

Now, as a school teacher, I understand her (my teacher's) tears. I hope and pray that Michael didn't also cut his life short due to pills but I fear that's the case. Whatever, he was a musical/performer GENIOUS and there will never be anyone like him! I'm blessed to have been alive for them both.

I am 47 years old so the Michael I remember and love is the young Michael. The one that appeared on the dating game when he was around 12. People talk about Thriller, etc. but most African American's my age remember ABC, Stop the Love You Save, Looking through the window. THE THIRD ALBUM, Get It Together. I remember seeing them in person when I was 10 and yelling, screaming. Writing on his albums with hearts. That is the Michael I loved and remember.

Michael and Farrah will both be terribly missed they were icons of the entertainment industry. However it is my hope that boths their deaths and lives are not overly shown on such shows as ET as was Anna Nicoles. She was on constantley for months i feel we lost track of publishing news of our brave soldiers overseas fighting for freedom.

Then, some of us know, and others believe, Sony Records was the driving force behind those claims, in an attempt to punish Micheal. i have listened to michael jackson for as long as i can remember. yes he has all kinds of press sorraunding his life. but u must remember all he did for charity and mostly all the billions of people he made happy with his music. i say billions because he did touch that many people and that is not a easy task. he has had a interisting past but haven;t we all. i know i am not alone in saying i will miss him and feel cheeted that i well never hear his next briliant piece of work....

Thursday night, 25 June 2009:
I had the good fortune to meet music superstar Michael Jackson twice. My first time was at an award show where I met his mom, Katherine and brother, Jermaine on September 1990. His mom is so nice, easy going and wonderful to talk to and I took a few photos with her.

The second time was with my two sons working on a Pepsi t.v. commercial on 27 April 1993. I talked with him during breaks in filming and he was very nice and very soft spoken and my sons and I took photos with him.

Every young man in the world at some point was dancing to his music. Years ago, I even had home video footage of me dancing to one of his songs and doing his dance moves.

Michael Jackson was the greatest and most well known music superstar on the planet, passing up Elvis Presley and the Beatles because Michael was more liked by all races and countries on this planet. The only other person that well known on the entire planet is the late great Bruce Lee, who died in July 1973, but still known and admired around the world today and Michael will be remembered for many years into the future.

When all is said and done, I just hope that he made peace in his spirit with God because lots of fame and money is great, but it does means nothing if a person's spirit is condemn.

Michaels death is a shock to all, a loss to the music world and of course his family, children and friends. His contributions will be remember longer than any of us will be alive.

The news should focus on his death, his accomplishments and his humanitarian focus in life.

How sad that the news media still chooses to focus on his faults, his quirks and his problems through life and the rumors. He has already been raked over the coals, drug through the tabloids, paraded through courts.

Who are we to judge?

Celebrate his life, his music talents, his contributions to people's lives and focus on the positive. Why do we have to take this time to rehash the difficulites of this lonely yet brilliant man?

He is clearly loved by many and that is what should count. I doubt in my lifetime there will be another like him who will even come close to magnitude.

Spare us the tabloid reporting, use the media to share his life, his talent and his music...please.

I grew up with Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon and appreciate all they have given us. I am saddened by the loss to all of us, their family and friends. I'm sure after the airtime that has been and will be dedicated to them I will know even more about their lives but I am more saddened that I don't know more about the individual soldiers, airmen and marines that have died in the line of duty for the many rights and freedoms we enjoy as a society. I know CNN has dedicated a certain amount of time to our fallen and wounded and for that I thank you but I'm afraid the airtime dedicated to celebrity deaths is disproportionate to the people that have died for the very freedoms that allow us to be able to reach such stature in a free society. God bless all that have given something of themselves to us and the world in whatever way they could, large or small....

I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that Michael Jackson is dead. I grew up listening to his music. The 80's just weren't the 80's without Michael Jackson. I believe he spent his time with children because he never really had a childhood. He wanted to experience the childhood that he missed out on. He loved to be around and spoil children, you could see it in his character. He did nothing wrong and I'll always believe that.

I remember performing in my friend’s living room to “That’s What Friends Are For” with her mom watching and laughing at us. We had to be around 11 or 12 at the time. I am a completely different person than that little girl dancing in the living room yet; Michael Jackson has remained a part of who I am. Strangeness in the recent years aside, he amazed me. I can’t yet imagine a world without Michael Jackson in it. What will happen to music now? I absolutely regret not ever seeing him in concert. What a loss for his family who seem incredibly close and what a loss for music. He was an extraordinarily talented musician who changed the face of music as we know it… RIP Michael Jackson…

Back in the 80's, i was a somewhat chunky, clumsy kid. Used to fall down a lot. I learned how to walk and carry myself by watching Michael Jackson. Greatness in people must be recognised and respected even if some of the things they do appear strange to us. We would not learn a great deal if we restricted our attention to people we admired in totality. So thank you Prof. Jackson. I'll se you in class next semester.

As much as I love MJ, FARRAH has UNFORTUNATELY become chopped liver to his passing. That's sad to me as I just lost my dad to cancer. When will we hear of of her death? A few weeks I guess... sad, pathetic world, he was a freak, she died of a terrible disease.......................why must her death now be undermined?

It was such a sad day to have lost such a talented pop star. I feel I just lost a friend I grew up with. I hope we can all cherish the happiness, joy and excitement he brought to all of us and stay away from all the negative aspects of his life. Everyone knew he was lonely, and fragile. He still has his precious children and family to live through this time and I hope focus goes on the postive aspect of his life and not the negative aspect that can affect and his family, friends and fans that loved him so much. I remember being a teenager In Gary and sitting on my front porch listenng to "The Jackson 5" rehearse at a eighbor's house. It didn't happen often but us young people thoroughly enjoyed It. His fame came as no surprise to those of us who were there.
It puzzled and saddened me as I watched the strange and lonely journey that his life took. But one thing that cannot be overshadowed is his musical genius that is appreciated by myself a 60 year old woman as well as her 8 year old granddaughter. His genius has been missed for years and his musical presence will be missed forever.

No one has commented on his children. Where are they? How are they dealing with the loss?

I am so saddened by the passing of Micheal. I have been a Fan all my life. He will be greatly missed. I have a six year old and have shared videos in the past of Micheal and a few of his songs. While the news of his passing was on (which the child does not fully understand) and my child heard the music of Thriller on the news began to stand and dance around. This is how he touched people. There was something so very different and special about him. Even infants seemed to react to the sound of his music. Micheal and I are around the same age. I can't even sleep tonight. I am so very sad. My heart really hurts. This world will never be able to replace his talent and kind spirit. I am very sad that he was so lonely.

I like to share some few words from a poem called Kali the Mother by Swami Vivekananda,

“….Who dares to misery love,

This poem beautifully sums up all the energy and effort that Michael Jackson put forth. He was the LEGEND and will never be forgotten. It is sad that the MEDIA/FALSE trials kept staining is reputation and weakened his health with all the controversy. This is a TRAGIC death of a truely TALENTED. Although I was too young back than and don't remember anything, but Michael's death is like the death of BRUCE LEE.

We all should take this horrible loss of Michael Jackson and try to be an image of how he envisioned the world, peaceful and loving! I always have admired him and always will. We are truely blessed to have seen the world through the eyes of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael and I hope now you can finally be in peace.

I played one of his songs right after I heard the news, and I had a good long cry. I had hoped it was a mistake, it wasnt and I am just speechless! I dont want to believe it, I grew up with his music and I always felt for him. I was abused as a child and could see his pain and loneliness, I am heartbroken that he had to endure so much. I hope he finds peace, and people respect him and leave the negative thoughts about him out of it. He deserves that, we all do...... peace to you Michael and to everyone mourning for him.

I was listening to an "oldies" station while at work when I learned of his passing. Michael and I were the same age when he passed. I grew up with him...The station I listened too played his music and I had to fight back the tears...

"Would he have made a comeback ?" ?! The man sold out FIFTY London concerts in 10 minutes !!! That alone speaks volumes about his superstar status – how can anyone question his relevance ? His music and his performances are why he received The Living Legend Award Grammy . I'm glad I was alive to witness his career . From "ABC " to "Off The Wall" to "Thriller" et al. I am still in shock and very sad about Michael's passing. Growing up listening to him was just a normal thing. Continuing to send prayers for him and his family.

Anderson, I appreciate the way all of you are covering this. But I really don't understand some of the people that are cheering on camera at the hospital. Selling tee shirts?? I know that they say they are celebrating his life, but it almost seems disgraceful. It's a sad thing when people act like it's a circus when someone passes away.

When I heard the news of Michael Jackson's passing at work, it was a shock. I grew up with his music beginning with the Jackson 5 and followed his career as it progressed through the years. He developed into a singer/ performer, second to none. Although his personal life left a lot of distaste and doubts in everyone's mind, he obviously had some serious problems in his life, without question, his real life was his music, dancing, and his fans. That is the only life he grew up to understand, the normal life of a child and teenager growing up normally escaped him, all he knew was music and performing, and that led to his demise. He was a man trying to capture the moments of an adolescent that weren't his, since all his time was spent in developing his career, which rose far above everyone else in the performing industry. His music and passion for perfection and his on stage charisma will be sorely missed. He was a talent second to none.

Obama campaigned under the theme "Change", I believed in his efforts. Now that change has come and he is our President, I challenge Obama to use Michael Jackson's song "Man in the Mirror" as his theme song in memory of MJ and all of the changes the have happened in 2009. This has been in my spirit ever since Obama used "Change" as his key word. Even before Michael passed, now I hope we can make this a reality.

I can not believe what I am seeing on the news and on the web!! Everybody is so sad because a guy that molested little boys is is dead and now he is being put on a pedestal that is completely INSANE, if it was Joe Blow everybody would be glad that he is gone. As an adult who had an indifferent child hood, I can truly relate to Michael creating bonds with children. When the you can't trust the adults(parents) that are suppose to protect you, you never really come out of this protective shell. I don't think he abused anyone, I think they abused his kindness and took advantage of an opportunity that was presented when he let his guards down, and actually trusted someone. My heart truly goes out to his family and the many fans that loved him the way I do. Michael Jackson, is another example of an icon that was taken down by the people who proclaimed to love him.

Michael was a wonderful person who helped so many people and I wish those horrible people who said that he did all the horrible things to the kids lies they would come and clear his name . it is not right that he would have to die and leave his kids behind and for them never really know how good he was and that he didn't do that to these kids and I wish someone would have the heart to make these people tell the truth and clear his name.

This man was a legend. King of his own realm in the world of pop. Another legend has been lost, and the world now realizes just how much he meant. I am extremely saddened by the loss of Michael Jackson. He was a musical genius who tried to do so much for the world with his music. Whether people liked him or not he was a truely great man. Michael lived his life in reverse as a child he was forced to live as an adult and deal with things most adults couldn't possibly cope with. woke up today to rain in Tucson which never happens in June...then the day ended with a unbelievable gorgeous sunset.
It seems as though the skies above were mourning the death with tears from heaven but then the sunset gave a new meaning that Michael Jackson is finally able to be rid of all his pain and agony that he has indured since a child.
I am sad to know he is gone from this world but at peace with knowing that he is in a much better place.

Michael Jackson was an extraordinary talent. His innovative singing style, his dancing, even his onstage clothing were all trademark "Jackson." I'll never forget first hearing the "Off the Wall" album of my oldest sister, and loving it right away, in my youth. Then came "Thriller," perhaps one of the best albums EVER made. He won 13 Grammys. Elvis won NONE. Michel Jackson IS the "King of Pop," in my opinion. His style, dance moves, and rhythm were unmatched. And on top of all that he seemed to be a thoughtful, introspective person; someone with great sensitivity. He read Walph Waldo Emerson, an author who ascribed to the simple, daily meditative state, and being 'one with nature.' I am deeply saddened, and will never forget this day.

When princess Diana and then closely Mother Terresa passed away the whole world grieved their demise. Today the whole world grieves Michael Jackson's untimely death. Not all can achieve this global love and admiration which Michael truly deserved. His music will always inspire us all. May God bless his soul!!

One thing I will remember the late King of Po is the charitable and humaitarian work he did for the underpriviledge. It's such a shame on how unscrupolous individuals have "milked" him taking advantage of his kindness, even by those alleged victrims and families. For me he never died of a simple cardiac arrest, but a broken heart. I feel the grief of his family,friends and fans. Now that he is in the loving care of our Father God, he ifinally found the peace and understanding he never got from those "righteous" individuals who judged him. i cant believe michael jackson is no longer with us. Even though im 17, i still listened to michael's music. "rock with you" , "dont stop til you get enough", and "billie jean" were my favorite songs by him. My mom and i cried when we heard the news. It feels like i've lost a family member. This may not be the appropriate place to post this but I will anyway because I don't know where else to send it. I turned on CNN this afternoon thinking there would be something on Farrah Fawcett. I was shocked, as was everyone else, to learn that Michael Jackson had been taken to the hospital and then later learned he died. Very surreal. I found it quite disturbing to see his body transferred from the helicopter to the van at the morgue. I imagine other channels showed this as well but it really shows you that there is no such thing as privacy anymore. RIP.

Wow! 2 day was just 2 CRAZY!!!! I haven't felt this sad since Princess Di passed away. It's still difficult to grasp and wrap my head around. . .Just surreal. When I herd this news I was utterly shocked I could not belive what I was hearing. He is my idol I dance for 4 hours everyday and I watch him for inspiration. He is one of the biggest idols of my life. I love his work and I loved his danceing i dance to his music everyday. He was not just an entertainer he was a idol, a hero, a singer, a dancer, and most of all a friend to everyone. Even today morning while I was at my friend place trying to shift few of my luggage that I had left there, while loading a bag into the taxi, suddenly few of the CD's fell from the bag and out of it one of them were MJ's. I kept it back and on my way to my new place I kept on singing 'Beat it', in my heart. Later while I reached my office I came to know about the news about his death ....
As we all know MJ is the King of pop. I pray
that his soul would rest in peace. Though he had a few
issues/ controversy in his life, I still believe that he was
really good at heart. You can imagine the talent that he had (unique)
and also how he nurtured it. Singing, music and dance, truly
a great person. Also its pathetic, that how many of us tried
to pull him down by simple gossips, media blunders, talks
etc. End of the day he is just a man and like anyone of us
he is not perfect, so we shudnt pin point at simple mistakes
that any of us would have and could commit. Hope

Im amazed at how many people like or love Micheal Jackson many people i know don't like him, it's shocking and sad that he passed and my best friend was sad about it too.

He was an important man, hours ago at 7:00-7:20pm my step father called and said Micheal Jackson had died, my mom said, i didn't pay much attention until i watch it on CNN, HLN. there still talking about it.

I know this won't be a popular comment but I wonder if it is time now to say – why didn't someone close to Michael get him the help he needed so he could keep doing what he was best at – entertaining the world. Did his wealth make him untouchable and above criticism? Did nobody care enough to intervene? He needed someone like Simon Cowell as a mentor and sounding board. He needed somebody like Britney Spears' parents to spend $50,000 on a motorcade to get him counselling or public relations training or whatever it was he needed most. His spending was out of control. It wasn't so much the face lifts – it was the fact that he denied having them. He didn't seem to have the skills to deal with life or his health. It was like he lost his guardian angels and the devil gradually took him over. I can't imagine the courage it must have taken to attempt a farewell tour after a decade of public criticism, legal charges and loss of his financial empire. I heard on chum fm radio one morning that he was using a lot of body doubles and intending on lip synching alot for the farewell tour. I think he died from a broken heart and loneliness and fear. We need to take care of our gifted souls. Next time when a celebrity is having problems, the public and the media need to think about how they can help rather than just watch a train wreck in the making. We shouldn't assume that everyone has family or friends that will take on that role. We need to take leadership and just do it. Godspeed.

I am sick of hearing about Michael Jackson. He was a mentally disturbed person who lived life as if he was a God. He was a sorry person and I'm not sorry his life is over. I'll be glad when the press stops covering him and moves on to something really important to our quality of life.

I am still in shock that this happened to Michael. I can not stop watching the TV in hopes of there being some kind of mis understanding...I hope that everyone remembers Michael for the artistic dance and music and love that he he gave so many of us for so many years. He will always be a legend and missed by soooo very many people. I was so looking forward to his concerts in London. Tickets sold out on all show dates in 10 minutes. I was hoping this would be his come back. He is now with his idol The King of rock (ELVIS) and may the two of them find each other and shine down on our lives. what a tragedy....Rest in peace Michael...and as in "BEN"...."You have a friend in me"....

Michael Jackson's passing seems to have overshadowed Farrah Fawcett'spassing as well as her life. Let's not forget this courageous woman and the battle she fought for so long. God rest her soul as well as Michael Jackson's soul

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this but... I enjoyed Michael Jackson's music, but he became a sad, pathetic, unhappy man. His passing means he's over all that. That being said, the wall-to-wall media blather and obligatory public gatherings/displays about it is an insult to the Iranian citizens daily risking and losing their lives in the struggle for freedom. Are our interests so shallow, our sense of proportion so warped that it's more important to drive all night to stand in front of the hospital where a pop singer died than it is to speak up in solidarity with our Iranian brothers and sisters? And no: I am not Iranian, just an American who wishes Americans would grow up.
