We're bringing you a two hour edition of 360° tonight on the death of Michael Jackson. The pop music legend died this afternoon at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after collapsing at his home and suffering cardiac arrest.
At the hospital fans quickly gathered outside. At one point Jackson's music could be heard from a fraternity house across the street. As the music played people were crying, many were in shock over the loss of the 'King of Pop'.
Tonight, we'll look at the life of Michael Jackson. There were the classic hits from the days of the "Jackson 5". Flashback to 1969. Their first Motown hit was "I Want You Back". There was no looking back. Years later, Jackson dominated the music scene as a solo artist. His debut solo album, "Off the Wall", sold over 7 million copies and had four top 10 singles. In 1982, "Thriller" was released. It's the wold's best-selling album of all-time, selling more than 100 million copies. Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards over the years and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.
But in more recent years there were the accusations of child molestation. He denied the charges each time. Though, in 1993 he paid an unspecified amount to a 13-year-old old boy in an out of court settlement. Ten years later, another boy would accuse him of the same charges. That case went to trial in California. Jackson was found not guilty.
The trial and several unrelated lawsuits put a massive dent in Jackson's fortune. He was planning a comeback with 50 sold-out concerts in London that were to start next month.
Instead his family is now planning his funeral. And, questions remain: Why did Jackson die? An autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow. And, what will his legacy be?
Share your memories of Michael Jackson below.
Join us for this and our coverage on the death of another icon, Farrah Fawcett, tonight on AC360°. See you then!

June 25th, 2009 9:26 pm ET I remember when I was 6 or 7 and I was helping my brothers and my mom clean out our basement and I found a record at the bottom of a shelf and I asked my mom "Who's Michael Jackson Thriller?" and she laughed at me and put the record on. That day she showed me a taped playing from MTV of Thriller and then Billie Jean and... the singing, the theatrics, the fashion, the MOONWALK. I was hypnotized. years later, now I remember seeing the whole trial thing with Michael Jackson and the kids at school talking about it but I know that they all love Beat It and Billie Jean and they all wish they could moonwalk. Michael Jackson left mixed messages with millions of people but one thing no one can deny is that he left an impression on so many people – I don't think anyone else will ever impact as many people as Michael did. Michael Jackson is truly the King of Pop as much as Elvis in the King of Rock'n'Roll. He's undeniable. |

June 25th, 2009 9:28 pm ET I worked with Michael several times, in fact, I directed and produced the Man in the Mirror video among other projects. He was very generous, caring and spared no expense to produce the projects the right way. I witnessed an amazing thing when we were discussing the theme of Man in the Mirror the day after Thanksgiving in the attic of his manager's home in Encino. They were discussing how things had gone with an operation to get cash to the LIFE organization in LA after thieves had stolen the food stores that were to be fed to the homeless that Thanksgiving. Michael had sent a large sum of cash to feed those people, and I was told, and believed, that he sent the cash anonymously. He could be a little strange, but I stood backstage and watched the guy move and sing on stage like no other in history. Hope MJJ finds his peace! Don Wilson |

June 25th, 2009 9:29 pm ET I'm sure the show will be good but I do hope we hear the latest on Iran as well as some non–celebrity news. |

June 25th, 2009 9:30 pm ET I must admit, after my initial gasp and saddness that this icon had passed, I only thought, 'oh no, this will totally dominate the news tonight, and proper Iran coverage will be by the wayside.' Of course I recognize that Jackson was a great talent, but I don't think his death merits constant coverage. I hope AC360 contributes some world news tonight, and not just round-the-clock MJ. Wow, I'm kind of a jerk. :/ |

June 25th, 2009 9:31 pm ET Sad evening, Maureen!! Today we lost much of a our generation and youthfulness... and of my adolescence. The style that Michael Jackson created in the dance and music was unique and revolutionary. Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, The Girl Is Mine, Rock With You ... the songs are so unforgettable ... it is difficult to have a favorite! We lost a legend of the music world. Despite all the problems that Michael Jackson had, nobody can deny the contribution he gave to the music, dance and behavior of a generation. Michael Jackson will always be an idol. Thanks! |

June 25th, 2009 9:46 pm ET here is a little something for you to think about. During the eighties when Michael was at his height, do you know his music was band in Saudi Abrabia. Michael was more popular then the King as as a result his music was band. To many young saudis were dressling like Michael. |

June 25th, 2009 9:48 pm ET The song "Ben" always comes to mind When I think of Michael Jackson. I don't know why, but there's something about that song. The way he sang it always brought me to tears. I guess I can relate to its message, of knowing who your true friends are. And the true friends I can count on, I can count with one hand. When I first heard it, I remember thinking, "Wow, what a voice!". We love you forever Michael. God bless you. |

June 25th, 2009 9:52 pm ET Our daughter who will be 23 and our son who is 17 both learned very early on the music of Michael Jackson. Our daughter actually was able to recognize at a very young age (before she could actually walk) a song by Michael within the first bar....she became an excellent saxophone player; our son was introduced to Michael's music by his sister...he became an excellent drummer. My husband and I had the opportunity to see Michael two nights in a row in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium. These two evenings were at the top of our lists of concerts we attended. Our daughter has already decided that her first son will either be named Michael or Jackson her daughter Marley. He will always be remembered. |

June 25th, 2009 9:57 pm ET Another piece of my generation has been lost once again. Being I was born in 1956 I have followe Michael Jackson's career from the get go. I remember The Jackson Five on the Ed Sullivan Show and then the eventual rise of Michael as a solo artist. I remember watching Farrah Fawcett and watching her weekly, I remember watching the Tonight Show and hearing :"Heeeeeere's Johnny"... So sad to lose all these people basically at the same time. It truly does at my age bring about your own mortality and the reality of it. There are 3 extra stars in the sky tonight, one for each of these 3 souls that have left this earthly plain. My heart goes out to each ot their families and friends and to Michael, Farrah and Ed, THANK YOU FOR BEING WHO YOU WERE and being part of my life. |

June 25th, 2009 9:58 pm ET I'm only a few years younger than Michael and I grew up listening and loving him as an entertainer. I saw him 3 times in concert. The 1st was in the early 70's when he was still a young boy. My sympathy to his family. There will NEVER be another like him (for me, at least). Rest in peace, Michael. |

June 25th, 2009 10:22 pm ET I feel like I've just lost my childhood. This man's music got me through SO many rough times and kept me company during my lonely childhood. I know that people are saying that his death does not call for constant coverage, but excuse me, we've lost the single most influential person in music to date. There's not a pop/R&B artist who has not been inspired by this man. Yes, we are going through hell right now in the world, but right now, we need to take the time to remember this man. Not the man the media made, not the man we made up in our heads, but the man who raised millions of dollars for AIDS, millions of dollars to feed the hungry and help those who can't help themselves. His religion...doesn't matter. His "strange" antics...don't matter. The accusations...don't matter. The only person he has to answer to is God and we can't and shouldn't judge the man. He lived a lonely, lonely life...the life of a true genius and I will forever be grateful for the joy he brought to me through his brilliance in music. R.I.P. Michael Joe Jackson, I love you and will NEVER forget you!! |

June 25th, 2009 10:24 pm ET I am very sad about the passing of Michael. He was an icon. However we can not forget that we also lost Farrah today. She was an icon too & will be missed. It is unfortunate that she is in the shadows of this late breaking news. Let's remember her & Ed as well. CNN I love your reporting but at least give Farrah some airtime for her fans. |

June 25th, 2009 10:31 pm ET What are you thinking? 2 Hrs devoted to a man accused of child abuse who settled a case on those same grounds? Who fled the country to avoid further similar charges? The world is far worse off for your NEED to assume that we the people find your intensive coverage of this freak of a man in the slighest bit news worthy. At least Farrah Fawcett to whom you have devoted little or no attention tried to educate people in her dying days. Of what redeeming value does the death of this stranger-than-life character have to contribute to the betterment of our lives when lives are being sacrified in Iran, Aghanistan, and other conficted countries in the name of freedom? To what end did Jackson make people free? |

June 25th, 2009 10:47 pm ET I'm watching your show, Anderson. I noticed the short video of Michael Jackson dangling his newborn baby over a balcony in Berlin. I am an 11 year old and it reminded me of the scene From the Lion King movie when the newborn, soon to be king, Simba, was being shown to the animals. Maybe Michael Jackson was showing his newborn in the same way to the people. After all Michael Jackson was a king in a different way. |

June 25th, 2009 10:49 pm ET I have adored Michael Jackson since I was 6 (he was 11) and he is the epitome of Peter Pan to me. What the media judged as wrong was his simple adoration of childhood. If you come from a dysfunctional family ,where the parents exploit you for their own gain, then you may appreciate that he tried every method possible to regain his own childhood! God bless and keep him safe! He was so loved and please try to express the good that he has done through charity work, rather than the money-people who tried to exploit him. His family is in my prayers! |

June 25th, 2009 10:57 pm ET Who are we to judge ? The greatist music performer ever has passed, a true hard working American. June 25th, 2009 10:59 pm ET I am truly sad.... I can't help myself from crying for the loss of Michael- one of this world's greatest entertainer. The loss of him has brought back my own memories of the loss of my parents.... words cannot describe the emptiness those close to him will feel and his kids and family lives will never be the same again. The sadness will never end but the memory of him will always be in each of us. I am glad I was able to experience his one of a kind performance throughout his time here in this world. He will truly be missed by so many of us, my heart goes out to his family, friends and kids. The pain from the loss of him will always be around to those close to him but his memory will always live on. R.I.P. Michael, I will truly miss you. God Bless your Soul. Thanks for sharing your passion with the rest of the world. |

June 25th, 2009 11:04 pm ET With the untimely death of Michael Jackson, those of us who have been touched by his genius have a wonderful opportunity to celebrate his life by becoming our best selves, just as he did with his life. |

June 25th, 2009 11:04 pm ET It's amazing that even in Michael Jackson death, all the negative things he was never accused of, still come to the for front, as if he was found guilty, what a Dam shame. |

June 25th, 2009 11:05 pm ET What a sad day! You can only hope that michael Jackson will be remembered for the fabulous artist he was rather then his recent "some what bizar behavior" many thoughts & prayers to his children whom we know were the center of his life as well as the Jackson family. As expressed many times – please allow his children & family the space they need to grieve! Our society does not allow that when a high profile individual is in the news – regardless the situation. I ask as many others have – thoughts & prayers – give them the space they so desperality need at a time like this. julie (tx) |

June 25th, 2009 11:05 pm ET You can say a lot about Micheal jackson- both good and bad, but I never met a fan of his that he had a bad affect on. I have friends in China. When they first saw him in the 1990's they in saw in him, life as they never dreamned it could be. When I called my friend threre and told him the news, he sobbed. For Micheal jackson's last two birthday's he printed fliers about Micheal, and passed them out to passers-by in busy downtown Chongqing. My friend never believed the molestation charges. Micheal gave him hope. |

June 25th, 2009 11:05 pm ET I appreciate the coverage of Michael Jackson's death, the reminiscences and the chance to remember all that he contributed to our intertainment and how he shaped our culture, but I am disappointed that you are not airing the interview with Roxanna Saberi – especially in light of the crisis in Iran. Her insights would help us understand what is happening there so that the U.S. can meet the challenges that lie ahead. I hope you will air it soon. |

June 25th, 2009 11:13 pm ET i was a fan in the eighties and up until his strange troubles started. It seems that his death has smoothed over the weird acts and deeds that brought him into the spotlight. I hate when that happens. Remember when noone liked him? Now all of a sudden everyone is devestated that hes gone. |

June 25th, 2009 11:16 pm ET I had the privilege of performing for Michael and his guests who frequented Walt Disney World’s Hoop Dee Doo Review during 1983-85. I only hope that Michael left our performances with some of the same feelings of joy and happiness that he has left me, my fellow performers, and the millions of fans worldwide who have come to hear his music and lyrics, witness his dancing and vocal talents and feel his unparalleled enthusiasm and energy that will continue to live on through the generations. June 25th, 2009 11:17 pm ET Last time I can remember a death hitting the world like this, in terms of entertainment, was when we lost Elvis Presley. I dare say the funeral for Mr. Jackson will be much, much bigger. 'Thriller' is certainly one of the best albums ever produced. It changed the face of pop music, just as Elvis and The Beatles had done before. |

June 25th, 2009 11:18 pm ET I remember being a kid and the Jackson 5 Victory tour kicking off in my hometown of Kansas City and begging my parents to at least take me and my younger brother to sit in the parking lot at Arrowhead Stadium to at least be able to hear them play since the show was sold out. We didn't get to go, but a friend of mine that went brought me back a t-shirt and saw pictures taken! I was such a huge fan of the "Thriller" album and was so devastated that I wasn't able to go see him in concert! |

June 25th, 2009 11:18 pm ET Right on big cheese, obla di- obla da- life goes on babe. MJ is dead but our problems are still here so lets focus on the important things, instead of some entertainer who made way too much money, and wasted it on a stupid childish life, instead of using his god given talents to help those in need. I am sorry but you people are so fickle, and so concentrated on useless crap, while a lunatic across the pacific would nuke everybody if he could. Where are your priorities? Now it is obvious how BUSH/CHENEY got away with war crimes, by distracting your small minds. |

June 25th, 2009 11:19 pm ET its shocking for sure, but the entertainment industry is not immune to death and taxes.they suffer the same ailiments as the rest of us.but there is no arguement that he was of the highest caliber entertainer, his personal challenges aside he should be remembered with high regard as should any person who devotes thier lives to entertaining the rest of in an otherwise, tragic work a day world.i sincerely hope the media will treat his family with the respect of not turning this into a circus, they need to mourn with dignity and in peaceful surroundings. |

June 25th, 2009 11:20 pm ET I am so saddened to hear of Micheal's passing. I was born in the late 80's but I still grew up listening to Michael and watching him on TV. He was the icon of my generation, and there will never be a man like him again. His music will live on long after his passing. I am not surprised that his death is being compared to Elvis. He was the Elvis of our time. There was no person in between the two that had as much influence on music and pop culture as Micheal had. I will never forget the first time I saw Michael, when I was 7 years old at Disneyland, watching Captain Eo in 3D. Ever since then, I have been a Micheal fan and I will die a Micheal fan. My heart goes out to his family and all his fans. We all share in this terrible loss. The music industry will never be the same again. Rest in peace. |

June 25th, 2009 11:20 pm ET This has been a day. First the news about Farrah Faucett and then Michael Jackson. I did not realize how much his death affected me until CNN began showing footage of him performing as a kid. It took me back to my child hood and growing up listening to him. I was fortunate to be able to see him perform at RFK Stadium. He had his faults but her entertained and made many people happy. To Rackey, I am glad that you are so perfect that you can sit here and talk so ill of someone who has passed on. You could have kept your comments to yourself. |

June 25th, 2009 11:20 pm ET My son passed away at 22 years old recently from a rare cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma. I had 319 days since diagnosis. I am grieving this tremendous loss. To hear of Farrah and her struggle to fight her insiduous disease and to lose it, I am so very, very sad. Then to hear of Michael Jackson, the boy my step sons listented to (and myself) on family vacations, and to see his wonderful dancing....I am so incredibly sad today. I don't really know how to handle a day like today, grieving still for my own beautiful boy, but I do understand how Farrah's family and the Jackson family feel and I grieve tonight for them also. |

June 25th, 2009 11:20 pm ET Michael Jackson was an awesome entertainer. It is so sad that people who bring us so much joy and happiness are such targets for individuals to profit off of. I grew up listening to Michael during all the racial stuggles in the south, he helped us all cross the barrier to understand that we were all people, it didn't matter the color of our skin. I hope he finds the love and happiness in death than eluded him on this earth. He will live forever as will his music. God bless his soul and God be with his family during this devasting time. |

June 25th, 2009 11:22 pm ET My he left an incredible trail of iconic and legendary music that WILL NEVER be forgotten and now that the King of Pop has shockingly pass right from under us...why does this happen to us why the people we have so much cultural admiration to pass away so young and so quickly. Recently just last year, Heath Ledger, Bernie Mac and now this year...I will always respect the man MJ was in the past, present, and no doubt the future he is the King of Pop, in my opinion the King of the World. June 25th, 2009 11:22 pm ET It is so sad what has happened to Michael Jackson. I remember seeing him on the Ed Sullivan show years ago. I am 10 years older than Michael. It's a shame he didn't get to have a happy normal life. I also think it's ashame how he was treated by his father when he was young ,that set him up for the rest of his life. I hope he is happy in death. His wonderful music and entertaining will be missed! |

June 25th, 2009 11:24 pm ET Speaking ill of the dead will achieve nothing. If it was all true and MJ was guilty of somethings during his life the leaches and parasites who made fortunes from the afrro headed and innocent child that he once was should bow their heads in shame. Are we not wiser to reflect on the positives of the deceased rather then bitterly spewing venom from the safety of our little home computers Rackley? Attacking any dead target seems gutless. R.I.P Michael you were a wonderful talent |

I can only imagine what would have gone through Michaels mind at that time it must have been horriable.. It is just so awfull that this happened. He has inspired me to sing and dance. My favorite song was smooth criminal when I was a child. I actually broke my arm learning to dance like Michael. I will always remember him for all of the great things he has done in his life. He will always be remembered by family friends fans and people he has inspired. May his music live on for decades and centeries to come.. We will all miss the KING OF POP...In our hearts he will sing but up in heaven hes still the king! |

We are always smiling & singing listening to his music. In the 80's, my college friends & I loved to dance & party to his awesome music and now I enjoy it with my daughters. His music brings us joy always. Rest in peace MJ. |

June 25th, 2009 11:26 pm ET My memories of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 are of a childhood filled with innocence of playing outside with other neighborhood kids, listening to records and making up our own dance routines just like the Jackson 5. I remember that my sister and I woudl buy "Right On" magazine just for their giant posters of the Jackson 5...I would hang Jermaine over my bed and my sister would hang Michael and Marlon...May MIchael can finally rest and have true peace. May God bless his children with peace, comfort and understanding. |

June 25th, 2009 11:27 pm ET First and foremost, this was a devasting news that shocked me and everyone else that knew Michael Jackson. He is a genius and a talented artist. I can relate myself to his musics. He is a genius. One thing i don't thing is right is that he had a physician with him according to what i am hearing yesterday, so clearly he could have been taken to the hospital that same night. But i'm shocked that my greatest hero passed away. Michael Jackson has inspired me throught my life. R.I.P Micheal Jackson, You still live in our Hearts. |

June 25th, 2009 11:28 pm ET I can't believe that we have listened to 9 hours of coverage of M.J. death and hardly a word about Farrah Fawcett 's passing . Were is the equal and unbiased coverage now. Shame on you CNN. |

June 25th, 2009 11:28 pm ET Why is CNN neglecting to speak about the sexual abuse accusations? Accused wrongly once, maybe twice, but when accused as many times as jackson, it makes you go hmmmm. Shame on you CNN. The other news networks are not much better. The story should be, "a very talented but extremely suspicious and creepy man died today". I'm not sure why everyone has forgotten that this man was accused numerous times of sexually abusing children (maybe more than we know). He was never convicted but neither was OJ (at least his first public drama). Like OJ, jackson had large financial reserves that helped prove his innocence or escape justice (will never know I guess). One thing is for sure, I wouldn't allow that man need my children ... would you? |

June 25th, 2009 11:28 pm ET when i was young i was listening to his music and he was like a star back then. when he was on tv with his brothers and a they where popular i was like a big fan. the day he came out with thriller we all had such a good time. he was like one of the best singers out there and he became the king of pop. he seemed like he went so far to make it big in the world. now that he has passed away it is hard for a lot of us to see he is gone. i found out this after noon early evening from a friend that he passed away and it was about 6 pom est in florida and it is now hard to see him go. |

June 25th, 2009 11:28 pm ET A piece of my childhood has died with him. He was a legend, but thankfully his music gets to stay with us and he will be in a better place. My father and I are both shocked and still can't believe it. But I am hoping that CNN will stop showing that last picture of MJ because thats not how we, as fans, want to remember him. RIP MJ |

June 25th, 2009 11:29 pm ET I saw Michael Jackson on September 10, 2001 at Madison Square Garden, when he performed for a reunion with his brothers. He was as good that day as he was as a teenager. I was mesmerized by his ability to captivate the audience and truly make a connection to each person in the audience. I love him so much. |

June 25th, 2009 11:29 pm ET What a tragic loss. My generation grew up listening and rocking to his music. He was an icon a true phenomena and the rightful heir of the title of the "King of Pop" I have even converted my little girls into Michael Jackson Fans and they really enjoy his music . The media had a geat hand in destroying his privacy and endowing his with the title "Wacko Jacko" The world has suffered a great loss and there will never be another Michael Jackson or another king of pop. The world has lost one of the greatest icons of this century |

June 25th, 2009 11:29 pm ET I have to say that this evening has been the most difficult due to the loss of Michael Jackson. Eventhough some comments noted why all the coverage over this, which of course is ones opinion for sure but he was a the king of POP. Thats a name he earned and its reality that his sudden loss has been a huge shock for LOTS of people all over the world. This is a sad tradegy that hopefully will open the eyes of people across the world that LIFE is a precious thing and one should live each day to its fullest. Aside from his past and the weird life, Michael Jackson's music touched everyone's life someway or another, he was a true musician and entertainer. RIP MJ. |

June 25th, 2009 11:30 pm ET I was tremendously shocked to hear that our Modern Jesus died today, God truly had blessed Michael and worked through him. What's so amazing is that just when he could finally start to put his "crusifiction" behind him, he died bearing his cross anyway, I have no doubt this was how it was meant to be and I only pray that people realize what a blessing he has and will always be in many ways and I only pray that he knew himself just how special and significant he is to mankind!!! |

June 25th, 2009 11:31 pm ET I am so totally in shock and I can't stop crying. I grew up with Michael, his brothers and family. I lived in Gary, IN so they are like family. In fact, Michael was my husband and I was and am his biggest fan. All that know me, knew how I felt about Michael. Family has called to see how I was doing and how I am coping with the news, the tragic death of Michael. Needless to say, I have been crying for the past 6 hours. I remember seeing Michael on the Ed Sullivan show (now I'm telling my age) and when ever I saw him on TV, there was always a shrill scream that followed. Michael, you are the greatest. You are a beautiful person and I will truly, truly miss you. You may be gone from this world, but your music will live on and I will always, always remember you for the rest of my life. I Love You Mike and may you rest in peace. |

June 25th, 2009 11:31 pm ET What a sad day for this country..Michael Jackson was the biggest Cultural Icon of our time..Now is the time to give his family space to mourn. His family and more than anything his children need time to grieve and say goodbye. Its a disgrace that people who treated him like a criminal and run him in the ground before are now on shows like this praising him...Their 15 minutes are way way over so let him rest in peace...These people have no idea what they are talking about.. |

June 25th, 2009 11:32 pm ET Michael was not only a person, he was also my friend. I have never meet him in person, but when i was growing up he help me in more then one way. his music was all that i had in my house. Everytime my family got home i would always count on him to make everything better. when his man in the mirror came out I was only 7 and that is where i found my happy place. His music was not just music to me. I herd the words. and that means more to me is the words, not the sound. I will miss him very much and one day we will finally meet. I LOVE YOU M.J AND I WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH. I WILL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS. |

June 25th, 2009 11:32 pm ET I am still in shock and it is so surreal. I am actually at a loss for words. I have always been a fan. This is like when Elvis died. You remember where you were, what you were doing, what you said and you just sat there and watched TV and tried to understand it all. Michael yis one of a of a kind and a true genius. He will live on in is music and his children. he has left a piece of himselfon this earth for us to remember decades from now. My heart goes out to all his family, children, and close friends for their unexpected loss. And of course, the fans. For some of us this is a piece of our childhood that died. We love you Michael |

June 25th, 2009 11:32 pm ET Today is a very sad day. Regardless of what you think, remember innocent until proven guiltry. and regardless of what the truth is , Michael Jacksin still touched peoples lives all over the world in many different ways. Not only through his music but through his charity work to help feed starving kids. Through his music he begged us to find peace and save all peoples. Iran and Iraq and all of the different world problems will be here tomorrow. Michael Jackson won't. The man deserves a night of coverage when he gave us his entire life through music. A life we caused tribulation to by judging him. Like I said innocent until PROVEN guilty. |

June 25th, 2009 11:36 pm ET I'm 30 years old, and was raised in a music loving family. Motown and "oldies but goodies" were and are a staple in my life. Our lives would be totally different without having Mike here with us. I remember being about 3 or 4 when Thriller reigned supreme....my brothers took our hand held tape recorder(the one with five buttons), played Thriller and locked me in a room while Vincent Price rambled on and on about "Darkness falling across the land..." And that's where I fell in love with him!! I remember the double album cover with him and the tiger cub, Black or White, and all the other great songs and videos....He will be missed, forever...Gone to soon:..( Heart Broken in Charlotte, NC |

June 25th, 2009 11:36 pm ET I agree with the people that are questioning the importance of MJ and why arent the troubles in Iran being aired but you need to remember what country you live in. The majority of the people in America dont care about people in need or other countries. Many people care about people that have money and dont need any attention but yet thats mainly whats on the news. We hear more about celebrities then we do stuff that really matters. So with that said Do Something About.. Stop Watching It. MJ is the King of Pop and more people will watch that rather than kids in Iran and thats plain as day.. I feel as though they should inform us more on Iran and other countries but they dont care what I think, But if we come together and stop watching things that dont make our lives any better, than their ratings will go down and they'll end up putting something better on the news. |

June 25th, 2009 11:36 pm ET I think Michael's producer should do a video tour with some footage from the recent hearsal's along with the history of his performances, adding friends to the tour that can contribute live songs, live music in a tribute to Michael. He deserves this tribute. |

June 25th, 2009 11:40 pm ET I'm the same age as Michael Jackson, he was definitely an icon in his dancing, singing, creativity. I was saddened of his passing today. I believe he also suffered sadness in his life which probably made him become so ecentric. I hope his children, and family will keep his memory alive in his music etc. My thoughts and prayers are with them through his passing. May their faith keep them strong, and know he is at peace now, |

June 25th, 2009 11:41 pm ET His music was good but a total turnoff when he went weird and lost my respect for him. Michael's later years will always overshadow his music and it's too bad. For me, this singer "died" long ago when he got so eccentric and irrational. I only remember the music up to a point, not after that. |

June 25th, 2009 11:41 pm ET I am so happy to have been a part of the Michael Jackson era! He impacted the world and the hearts of people of all ages. We saw an extremely talented and gifted child and man share his gift with the world. People received the warmth of his musical endeavors, but the evils of our society were in the shadwos of his llife and Michael could not find peace. His talent and his music is phenominal, but the world could not give him what he needed most, so he is gone, I will always be a fan. |

June 25th, 2009 11:41 pm ET While I think it's incredibly sad that Michael Jackson is gone, I can't help but think that he's now spared the pain of the loneliness so many speak of him having lived with. So many seem to realize how really young he was inside – one of your guests referred to him as a 45-year-old child of 12. When are we going to see the dotted line between his having been robbed of a carefree childhood protected by parents and the problems he had coping as an adult? I think Michael would want us to be inspired by his music and to also learn from his life. |

June 25th, 2009 11:42 pm ET When I heard that michael had passed away i was speechless. it is so sad to see such a great man pass away. Not only was he a musical genius he was an unbelievable human being. He has influnced millions of people and will never be forgotten. . Its sad to see now that he's gone people are FINALLY giving him the credit he so rightly deserves. I'm 15 years old and I know that michael jackson is the reason why I love music so much. Like michael his fans see the good in him and realize that he has done nothing but good for people, but we still try to get in his personal business. I hope that he is happy now, he deserves it. My condolensces to the jackson family. I'm heartbroking by the news. GOD BLESS YOU MICHAEL JACKSON! I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!!! |

June 25th, 2009 11:43 pm ET I'm feeling so nostalgic tonight. I came of age with Michael Jackson's music. Tonight, images of times in my life that were connected to his songs are going through my head. It makes me want to start my mid-life crisis this instant. Why is it that Michael Jackson needed to come back? He made such a mark on our lives. I think that was enough. |

June 25th, 2009 11:43 pm ET This is a VERY SAD DAY FOR THE JACKSON FAMILY, THE MUSIC INDUSTRY & THE MANY THOUSANDS OF FANS WHO LOVE HIM! I have been a fan since 1971 and had the pleasure of seeing the Jackson 5 at the Black Expo in Chicago. To the Family PLEASE KNOW HE IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN LOVED! I feel like I've lost a family member! I can't stop crying and just saddened that with all the Beautiful things he did outside of providing wonderful music and bring video's to the main stream it is today, reporters still want to speak of the troubles and try to give the impression he was abusing prescription medications. The Press has hounded him, drug him through the dirt while he lived so let him be remembered for the good he did. HE HAS GIVEN US WONDERFUL MUSIC BY WAY OF SUCH A UNHAPPY LIFE. The Media can't hurt him anymore so don't continue to hurt his family. Mrs. Katherine Jackson & The Entire Family May God grant you Peace, know that I LOVED him since I was 12. You have my deepest sympathy and RESPECT for your Privacy at this time. |

June 25th, 2009 11:44 pm ET Thanks for doing such a wonderful cover on Michael Jackson! I must've been about 4 or 5 when I first heard him. I fell in love with his music and grew up listening to it ever since. It's such a shock honestly, I don't even know how to react. Though we all make mistakes, he's one true musical genius and legend that deserves to always be cherished. Let the beat live on! |

June 25th, 2009 11:45 pm ET I was a fan of Michael Jackson in the 70's and 80's. I watched him as part of The Jackson 5 and as a solo artist. I remember the Jackson 5 cartoon show, their performance on American Bandstand, his performance on Motown's 25 anniversary, his videos, his album Thriller, his great voice his amazing dancing, his trial four years ago, etc. It was a shock he died. It was just like when Elvis died – remember that too. In some ways his life paralelled Elvis. He never got to make his big comeback. Charlene Zacks in Toronto, Canada |

June 25th, 2009 11:45 pm ET Hats off to MJ for an extraordinary career, talent, heart, and life!!! He gave us his all!!! Thumbs down to Jeffrey Toobin (and anyone else in the media) who wasted our time today by taking pot shots at the "King of Pop". Jeffrey (and the rest of you), MJ was found innocent of the molestation charges because he was innocent–i.e., the facts did not support conviction. The first round was settled because he did not want to go through the type of crap and humiliation that he went through in the latter case. Was he eccentric? Yes. Guilty? No. I remember questioning a very conservative female friend as to why MJ would settle the 1st case and stating that "he should have fought it with every ounce of his being". She simply stated, "He just wanted it to go away. In his position, I would have done the same thing–if I had the money." At that moment I was profoundly enlightened. But let me not digress, much love to MJ and the wonderful gifts he shared with the world for so many years! All hail "The King of Pop"!!! Moonwalk in the peace that you were not allowed and I hope it makes you smile to see that its like the world stopped (along with your wonderful heart) because your beautiful light was snuffed out too very early for so many of us. To your critics and haters I say, "People often think the worst of others because of what they see when they look at 'The Man In The Mirror'." Peace. |

June 25th, 2009 11:45 pm ET "Shame on all of you!" We have true Heroes, "real" men and women dying in Iraq and elsewhere, who are far more worthy of this hyper media attention. June 25th, 2009 11:46 pm ET I'm so literally sick about this. I can't believe he is gone. Anderson, those two jerks (the lawyer & consultant – can't & don't want to remember their names) you just had on your show are exactly the kind of haters that haunted and tormented Michael Jackson. The man is dead and these guys are still insulting him – calling him a "man-child" and "naive". Please screen your guests better, I had to change the channel because I couldn't take all their negativity. People are mourning – we don't want to hear more badgering! I'll always love and remember Michael! Thank God, haters like those insensitive nimb-witted twits can't hurt him anymore. |

June 25th, 2009 11:46 pm ET One thing Michael has been undeniably is an incredible talent within the music industry, and this is borne out over numerous albums, most notably Thriller – the best selling album of ALL TIME! I remember a time when I was young hearing his music everywhere because it was so popular. That same experience stayed with me for not only years, but decades. His talent and his music was iconic, enduring, influential, and nothing short of astounding! To those that STILL delight in hurling accusations at the guy – he's dead....leave him alone! He was acquitted of all charges by a jury of his peers, the same jury any one of us would be tried by. The King of Pop is dead – long live the King of Pop!!!! |

June 25th, 2009 11:47 pm ET I'm still reeling with shock over the death of Michael Jackson. Thank you AC360 for doing this tribute for it is well-deserved. Michael was a genius and an innovator. He is responsible for turning the music video into a visual storytelling art form. He is responsible for making black music "pop" music. He was a brilliant entertainer and musician. Stories of those memorable Michael Jackson moments abound. Moonwalk during Motown 25. And of course the music – that unmistakable sound. His life certainly was not picture perfect. As an entertainment producer, I covered some of his bizarre antics in the latter days of his career. The baby dangling incident in Germany; his tumultuous child molestation trial. His changing appearance. But the imperfect portion of his character and life, should not overshadow his greatness. Michael Jackson as an entertainer gave his best and his all to his music. Because of that, he truly was the King of Pop. Fans like myself were very blessed. May he find peace and wholeness in death. May God comfort his family and those close to him who are in much pain right now. |

June 25th, 2009 11:48 pm ET I remember when Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire during the Pepsi video shooting. My sister and I called the number on the back of the Thriller album to find out his status. Boy, when my dad got the bill, I got the butt whooping of a lifetime. Our family still laughs about that to this day, although it wasn't funny at that time. I am always going to be a fan of Michael Jackson. I don't care what anyone has to say about him. Rest in Peace. Condolences to the family for their tremendous loss. |

Listing to Man in the Mirror changed my attitude toward so many people and life experiences. I want to thank you. I wish the Jackson family strength in this time of need. I pray for his children that they are able to achieve what their father couldn't, happiness and love. My heart is so heavy right now, I never knew someone I've never met personally, die and it affect me the way this has. RIP Mr. Micheal Joseph Jackson |

June 25th, 2009 11:53 pm ET Not to take all the spotlight from Farrah Fawcett because of her death being overshadowed by that of Michael Jackson....... She was a childhood crush of mine, seeing her in Charlie's Angels (the original). Over time she was unfortunate enough to be stricken by one of the worst diseases ever and to have succumbed to it; a disease that takes so many of us, and has ravaged even my mother (although in my Mum's case unsuccessfully – go Mum!). I pass my condolences to her family and other loved ones! May she also rest in peace and be in a happier place with no pain! |

June 25th, 2009 11:53 pm ET He was an icon and a legend even in Asia and Japan. The response he got when he was in Singapore and Asia many many years back is still remembered. His passing away is a great loss to the world of music and to mankind in general. It is Michael Jackson "The Child" passing away as he was always a child inside. We from the far east dedicate our prayers and respect to this great singer and person. He will be remembered for ever. Long live his memory and contributions. |

June 25th, 2009 11:54 pm ET Michael Jackson is and will forever be the "King of Pop". I respect his talent and the work that he has left behind to the fullest. There would be no Chris Brown, Usher, Mario, Ginuwine, Akon, Neyo, etc.. if it was not for MJ. I only hope that he is remembered for his work and the contribution to the music industry. The personal problems that he endured was evidence that he was man who didn't have the chance to have a "normal" childhood because as someone said in the specials he was the "Golden Child" of his family. RIP MJ – you will be missed and nobody can fill your shoes. |

June 25th, 2009 11:54 pm ET I was in shock when I first heard this .I couldn't believe it. I thought, " it's another rumor. He's fine. He's back home practicing for his upcoming tour. " He wasn't. Once I realized he was dead I broke into tears. I've cried on and off all day, discussing the loss of this amazing musician with fellow fans, and listening to his music non-stop. I still don't think it has sunk comepletley. I still look up at the screen and my heart sinks when I see the words, " Michael Jackson is dead " , or " Remembering Michael Jackson. " He wanted to live forever, and in a way he will. His music will live on forever. It's terrible that he has passed before his tour. He was going to make his come back, I know it. Rest in Peace Michael. We love and miss you. |

June 25th, 2009 11:55 pm ET I finally calmed down enough to write something. My God, I just can't believe he's really gone. I was only 13 years old when I first heard his music on the "Ed Sullivan Show", and I was hookedever since!!! I hope that we remember this man for his music, and not for all the stupid false accusations made against him through the years. I hope we remember him for his talent, and not for his bizarre way of life. I hope we remember him for his dancing (moonwalk) and not for what the circus media made up about him. Just like there was only one King of Rock & Roll (Elvis Presley), there was only one King of Pop, Michael Jackson. There will never, ever be anyone like him ever again!! I followed his music from songs like "ABC, " and I'll be there", etc. to "Thriller", "Diana" and "Dangerous", etc. I have all his albums, and all his music videos! I always have been and always will be "a hard-core fan" until the end of my days. I only had enough money to go to one concert The Victory" concert in Jacksonville, but it was worth saving every penny to make the drive from Tampa, FL. We love you Michael. And we will see you again in Paradise. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and I pray that Jehovah God's love is with them to comfort them in this time of loss. I know that they have the hope of seeing him again in Paradise as well. May this promise be a source of comfort to his family. Love you and miss you Michael. |

Please don't show the last photo anymore, we can all do without that image. I love you Michael! May you finally find all that you were seeking in this life and more. You will be missed but forever remembered. |

June 25th, 2009 11:56 pm ET Some of you people make me sick to my stomach with the comments you have left. We have lost three famous people this week and all you want to do is degrade AC360 for the coverage. NEWS FLASH...GET A LIFE! Do not judge others for the Father in heaven will judge you one day. May God be with the families in this time of mourning. RIP Ed, Farrah and Michael. |

June 25th, 2009 11:57 pm ET The first song I heard of Michael Jackson was "Yoy Are Not Alone" when I was 13 and in South Korea. That single song touched my adolescent soul so deeply that without knowing much about his fame, he became my idol. Just with that subtle song. That us true power of a genious that comes around once a century. Rest in peace to Michael who gave me comfort. You are not alone, as you will always be in our hearts. |

June 25th, 2009 11:57 pm ET I can't stop crying since hearing of the greatest entertainer in the world's passing. Wow, i use to perform his songs and dance with my little brother when we were in Ghana (West Africa) in 1984 in front of our family to put smiles on their faces. I know all his songs and have been a fan since childhood in a different continent. His talent was rare and will greatly be missed. My deepest sympathy to his family especially his mother. I can't imagine how it feels for a parent to lose a son. May God grant you hope and comfort your hearts. RIP King of Pop, Michael Jackson. RIP.... (Da yeai) In African mean's: RIP |

June 25th, 2009 11:58 pm ET To say that I am saddened and in shock in the passing of Michael Jackson is an understatement. This man had been a better part of my childhood growing up in Jamaica. I remember the first song I heard – 'Beat It' on the radio and I called my mother who was living in the states to bring when she came to visit me the album that had this song on it. My childhood fantasy love affair began once I listened to the whole album of Thriller over and over... What preteen or teenager girl did not dream of being Mrs. Michael Jackson? Well I grew up loving ALL of his songs. Love to dance to the ones of the 80s and was inspired to try to make a difference in the 90s with songs on race, child abuse, starvation and peace. Yes, all these and more were in his songs and I loved him more for it. Michael I pray that the world will remember you for the love you had for people from all over the world and your deepest desire for peace and love for each other you brought out in your songs. Thank you for the joyful memories that will live on forever, until we see you again...keep on singing and dancing in Heaven. RIP |

June 26th, 2009 12:00 am ET RIP TO THE KING OF POP! Michael Jackson has truly been a inspiration to myself and others all across the world. They should remember the achievments of his career and the great humanitarian deeds he did for people all over the globe. I send my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. I wish I would have had a chance to meet him. Thankyou Michael for all you have done for me inspirationally. You will be truly missed. |

June 26th, 2009 12:01 am ET I would just like to say that everyone needs to remember what Michael Jackson has done for the world. Not just his music and dance but he was also a humanitarian. We also need to remember that he still has children, parents, siblings and other family members out there left to deal with his passing. Just imagine how we feel and multiply that times 100 and I bet we still wouldn't understand what they are going through. Who cares now that he was in financial trouble or that he was accused of messing with children (which by the way, he was found not guilty). Lets talk about the good that he did,the songs that he made, the way he changed music and changed our lives. I am 36 years old and grew up listening to Michael Jackson and just last week my 8 year old son asked me to show him how to do the MOON WALK. I think that says it all.... --------------------------– |

June 26th, 2009 12:04 am ET This is going to be one of those moments when one remembers where they were when they heard the news of Michael Jackson. There is much sadness with the passing of this very talanted person. Who knows if he would have had a comeback, I like to think that it would have happened for him. There is such a sadness it the video clip shown when he talks about his final curtain call and he tell the audience that he loves them from the botton of his heart. Then he repeats it, and you can almost feel the loneliness in his life in this statement. A very talented man and my heart and prayers goes out to his family and his children. I pray that the media is kind and leaves them alone in their grief, although, I am aware this will not happen. I just hope that people can remember what Michael brought to the world in his music and how he brought people together with his talent. All of the negative comments, and there will be many I am sure, because that is what some of the media does, I hope will be at a minimum. Thank you 360 for being fair in your reporting of what happened with Michael in his life. Thank you for bringing these clips so that we can remember his talents starting from such a very young boy. I also want to comment on the death of Farrah. It is sad that she has lost her battle with this horrible disease. I saw Ryan O'Neal on TV yesterday saying that she had finally said yes and they were going to get married as soon as she was strong enough. I hope, for them, that this happened for them before her passing to another stage of where ever the soul is destined to go. I admire the fact that she was able to make the film that she did regarding her treatments in order to help others going through the same thing. Again, my heart and prayers go out to her family and friends to find peace in the fact that they do not have her in this part of their journey of life. Chris from Vancouver, BC, Canada |

June 26th, 2009 12:04 am ET Michael Jackson left the world a lot more loving and kind than before he entered it....He lent a tenderness within our hearts; those of us lucky enough to have actually felt the tender love flowing from his incredibly high and silky smooth vocal notes that seemed to move like a beautiful ballet of sound and that was SO sweet his tender voice just went through me on too many songs to count. Many will remember Michael's electrifying dance moves and rightfully so, but it was Michael's vocals that pierced my heart with a tenderness that gave me an overwhelming sense of peace, heightened love and an extremely warm feeling of gentleness and calm. Michael left me a more gentle child growing up listening to his gentle and beautiful soul from within and as a man he contributed to many of our romantic sensitivities. I'm a better and more loving person because of hearing this lovely man's very precious and beautiful soul. l love you Michael Jackson and everything beautiful you left upon all of the hearts of those lucky among us who were blessed to have heard your entire body of extraordinarily sweet, tender, playful and truely purely beautiful music and rhythms... May You Dwell in all of the peace, tenderness and love that you left us, my friend....you will live in my heart always as a sweet feeling.... I miss you already. God bless you and thank you for all you have given us with your truly beautiful heart which is your gift to humanity. .....your love was a very sweet love and I'll always miss it tearfully, Larry Meeks, Los Angeles, Calif. |

June 26th, 2009 12:05 am ET My immediate reaction was 'Genius is next to insanity' so I Googled it. Apparently no such quotation really exists. The best I could find was Senaca's: There is no great genius without some touch of madness. Michael Jackson was clearly such an enigma: His music was transcendant and revolutionary: I courted my second wife in the 1980s to the strains of 'Ben'. Who would ever have guessed that this was a song about a rat!! He was iconoclastic in many dimensions. Unfortunately, of late, the world's tabloid predeliction for his cosmetic surgery foibles, and the far-right's (unsubstantiated ) suggestion of pedophilia, surpassed his true brilliance/genius in transforming, nay metamorphosising, music as we knew it. We are, as a nation, far less for such media-driven drivel. We don't get to see too many Michael Jacksons in one lifetime. He stands alongside such giants as Mozart. And, just like Mozart, we don't have to like the whole package but we should acknowledge the, essentially, instantaneous change that this individual wrought in our lives. Transcenent change is rarely free of cost. Michael Jackson's personal idiosyncracies are, I would suggest, more the artifacts of the tabloid world in which we live, and thus quite easily forgiven given the enormity of the change that he catalyzed. June 26th, 2009 12:06 am ET People in the World worshiped Michael for his unique persona and incomparable charisma. But America did not treat him right, people gave him hard time for his success, followed him everywhere for right or wrong reasons and made him a prisoner of his own fame and success. The man was a GENIUS!!! In addition, he was a sweet, kind and child-like innocent human being who had a heart of gold and loved children but some greedy people took advantage of his kindness and openness to let their children come into his World. After all the accusations, he decided to have his own children but unfortunately left the World before he could see them grow. Who knows one of them may have become a star just like their father!!! I feel for his children and worry about them. Michael I would always cherish your music. There would be no one quite like you ever in this World. May angels take you under their wings and protect you like a flower. |

June 26th, 2009 12:06 am ET I am very discouraged and at how the news media picks and choose what they think that we need to watch. I think that Anderson should have split his show equally between both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett death. Farrah fought a very long and hard battle with cancer, she is truly now one of God's angels. As far as Michael Jackson we will never really know the truth about his actions about the child abuse case. He will finally have his day in the highest court there is. God will judge him for what he did on earth. |

June 26th, 2009 12:06 am ET Feeling we lost Jackson is really terrible and unbelievable. We had definitely lost one-of-a-kind person from us. I have a thought to share. By going through the news in various channels which is currently praising Jackson and various people sharing the news of how he was feeling very lonely, can't that have been proactively applied by media when he was alive to encourage him and give positive thoughts about him. I feel some time spent on a coverage like that might have helped. By watching his interview with O'Reilly we can see how sad he feels when people are reading wrong news about him. Feeling really sad whether there were some ways which could have helped and we had missed. |

June 26th, 2009 12:07 am ET I was horribly shocked and saddened with the news of Michael Jackson's death. I literally grew up with him, the Jackson 5, and his music. In fact, an immense amount of the childhood joy I experienced was listening to Michael and even imitating (and performing!) his songs and music. He was an incredible and extraordinary talent that the music world will never see again and I was blessed to see him grow up and share his musical gifts with the world. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. I will never forget him and the joy he brought to my life. |

June 26th, 2009 12:08 am ET Today marks a great loss, and a great gain. Humanity has lost one of the most brilliant artists that has ever lived, and Michael Jackson has gained a freedom and peace that he has long deserved. It is unfortunate that we as a people cannot value people of every status, race and personalitiy for their positive effect rather than the negative image that might emerge during their rein. Find your well deserved peace Michael, and rest knowing that we know and understand the impact that your amazing brilliance has left on the world. RIP |

June 26th, 2009 12:08 am ET I am so devisated. I can't stop crying. I grew up with Michael. He was only 2 years older than me. I remember the first time I ever heard his music. It made me so happy. Through out my life I have listened to his music. From ABC to Thriller and beyond. My son who is now 19 loved his music too. He used to try to dress and dance just like him when he was young. He got blisters on his toes fron trying to imitate his Billie Jean performance. We all want to believe our idols are indestructible. It is devistating to us when they are not. He will be missed. He is gone much too young. |

June 26th, 2009 12:09 am ET Today is one of the saddest days in music /cultural history. His amazing catelogue of music has been the soundtrack for so many of our lives and his loss has left many of us in shock. With the state of the music industry, I think it can clearly be said that with Michael's passing it has suffered it's final blow. There never will be another performer like Michael Jackson ever again. He gave us so much and inspired so many of today's young musicians. In my opinion he was the last of the truly great performers. |

June 26th, 2009 12:09 am ET Who even knows whether those European composers in powdered wigs abused others or themselves? We remember them only for their music. Michael Jackson reminded us that human beings are capable of creating beautiful things, no matter how flawed the human being. We are all a mixture of saint and sinner. He was just a little more extreme on both sides of the spectrum. |

June 26th, 2009 12:11 am ET Who or what is behind MJ's death? Why weren't there any close family with him? What does his personal docter has to say regarding medications MJ was taking. I am thinking MJ maybe a victim. Michael Jackson from Black to white; he had no color. He reached boundaries with music, a humanitarian, a gentle heart, hidden pain; spread the rhythm of his heart. Victim of conspiracies, conquer racism, unique, one in a million. Rest in peace. |

June 26th, 2009 12:17 am ET Michael is only 7 years older than me, and he has always been an inspiration to me. Even in the 80's when he was at the peak of his solo career. It is unfortunate that he was surrounded by controversy and it will follow him even in death, but what those that speak negatively about Michael Jackson cannot dispute is that this man was arguably one of the most talented person of his time. It would have been refreshing to see him back on stage in July, but as eerie as it sounds, Michael called his own curtain call when he announced it during his press conference. He will always live on, but life, as they say, goes on. |

June 26th, 2009 12:18 am ET Hey Anderson. I am deeply sadden by MJ death, I don't know him personally but I felt I know him.I have never been so sad since Princes Diana death. I would like media for once appreciate MJ for his contribution to this earth and remember behind all the media he has parents, sisters, brothers, children and friends and people who care about him. It is irony of life we appreciate people when they die rather than in life. Make today about the good things he did in life. |

June 26th, 2009 12:20 am ET Michael was the first teen idol of color for young girls in the late 60's and early 70's. I still love all the J5 songs and wish I had saved all my TigerBeat and 16 mags. He definitely blurred the color barrier during a very turbulent time in history. As we grew up, he didn't. It's a shame that he didn't get to experience the normal youth and teen years or the struggles of the average person making their way through their 20's, 30's and 40's. I just turned 50 and can sense my own mortality more vividly today. God bless Michael and his children. Rest in Peace. |

June 26th, 2009 12:21 am ET I remember listening to Michael Jackson when I was only 4 or 5 and knew that he was very special. I used to think that it was funny or fun to laugh at all those jokes about him, but when I heard he died I knew that i would never laugh at another Jackson parody. Listening to his music got me through a lot of hard times, I even did a paper on "Beat It" for my media studies class. And I just recently I started listening to his music again and it never went out of style. Thank you Michael for your music and your kind heart. I will always love your music and you as a person and a human being. |

June 26th, 2009 12:23 am ET I grew up listening to Michael. His music is the sound track of my generation. I remember being age 13, in 1972,when The Jackson Five came in concert to The Municipal Auditorium,in Nashville, Tn.;Michael was 14. In spite of his financial and legal troubles; I was looking forward to his re-emergence onto the stage and live performances. On a human scale, his death is a huge and tragic loss for the world, not just musically. It's sad to think of him as a young precocious child, so full of life, innocent;to think that he may have been depressed, lonely and having a dependency on drugs or pain killers is almost to sad to comprehend what forces; demons, from without or within may have brought him to that point. He was all too human, like all of us. He loved, he was loved, and he had a soul, which has gone home to God. His was a talent that only comes along once; we were blessed to be able to enjoy and celebrate his talents and gifts.May God bless his family. Good Night sweet Michael, May you Rest in Peace! |

His music will live on forever. We love you Michael – Rest in Peace Hong Kong |

June 26th, 2009 12:24 am ET "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" To the Jackson family, you have my sympathy. Our hearts and thought are with you tonight as you go through this loss. Today the music/entertainment world has suffered a great loss. The ICON...the main event...greatness himself! A humanitarian who gave because he really believed in healing the world. But, he was also human. A father, brother, son and a friend. He endured a very troubled past and I believe he was looking forward to getting his life back on track. That is what the tour would've meant to him. A new start! We can all understand what it's like to fall from grace every once in a while, so please keep all negative comments to yourself. No stone throwing please, have some respect! Hate him or love him, his legacy can not be denied. He paved the way for change in the industry, a change that many enjoy to this day. I remember as a little girl watching Michael and dancing to his music. (I'm 29 now) My parents bought me the Thriller album, which I still have today. That album is a timeless treasure and the video is a classic! The news of his passing has truly saddened me and others around the world today. I'd just like to say thank you to Michael for all of the contributions he has made, both in the music world and in the world itself. THANK YOU! You're truly one in a million. . He has left his footprints on our hearts...take your rest! |

June 26th, 2009 12:27 am ET R.I.P to the legendary Micheal Jackson Since childhood when i begun listening music, I have been enjoying Michael Jackson's unforgettable songs...i have first cried when i saw the "thriller" video, yet it was very creative and outstanding. Through out his hole album, he had such a brilliant work and that drives many of us crazy. where i am from people doesn't really listen to such music back in a days, yet Michael Jackson's great collections were herd by millions. I am very sad today to hear about his sudden death. Indeed, He is irreplaceable and his work remains legend to the end. R.I.P King of the POP music Michael Jackson, and a moral relief to his family and fans through out the world. |

June 26th, 2009 12:32 am ET Most defently Michael Jackson is and always will be THE KING OF POP!!! My dad grew up listening to his music and I as well discoverd his talent in the 90's since I was bonn in the late 80's. He was the most talented, magical and dedicated artist of all time. His song THRILLER IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG AND FOEVER WILL BE. I know that he touched the life of many and did extraordinary thing in every place in the world he went to. With songs like Billy Jean, Dirty Dianna, Black or White, Bad, Smooth Criminal, Beat it ,Thriller Remember the Time, Keep it in the Closet and Will you be there we can see the change and tiwst hea gave to pop music forever. I never had the chance to go to one of his concerts but I know it would of been worth every penny. Many years and decades will go by and the music industry will keep on going but there never be another MICHAEL JACKSON. May he REST IN PEACE AND FOREVER LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF THOOSE THAT HE TOUCHED AND CHANGE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER AND IN HIS FAMILYS. |

June 26th, 2009 12:34 am ET i have cried first in disbelief, then shock and sadness at the news that Michael Jackson has died. i was born in '67, so all my life i have had Michael to listen to. i have never wished so much that i was not in my quiet southern town but in NY or LA or somewhere where i could be with the large groups of fans assembled, celebrating his life and love. i guess my old vinyl collection will have to do for now. my prayers and thoughts go out to his children and the entire Jackson family. your grief is not suffered alone. the world has lost a genius in all respects of the word. michael, may you find the peace that so often eluded you in this life. we miss you and we love you. you will live on forever through your music and in our hearts and our minds, you will always be young and beautiful on the inside and on the out. thank you for all the music and the memories. love always, salliann |

June 26th, 2009 12:39 am ET The music world has lost it's biggest star since Elvis, John Lennon and George Harrison. But lets also focus on Farrah's death too not just Michael's. This day will be cemented in our minds because of the greatness of these two stars. They were both considered some of the most talented people of their professions. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson's music and I saw the Burning Bed starring Farrah. I'm definitly crying deeply on the inside and will be saying a prayer for both of their families. Oh and also R.I.P Ed Mcmahon as well. He was a big part of the Carson show and enjoyed watching him on there too. I'll say a prayer for him too. |

June 26th, 2009 12:49 am ET I finally calmed down enough to write something. My God, I just can’t believe he’s really gone. I was only 11 years old when I first heard his music on the “Ed Sullivan Show”, and I was hooked ever since!!! I followed his music from songs like “ABC, ” and I’ll be there”, etc. to “Thriller”, “Diana” and “Dangerous”, etc. I have all his albums, and all his music videos! I always have been and always will be “a hard-core fan” until the end of my days. I only had enough money to go to one concert The Victory” concert in Jacksonville, but it was worth saving every penny to make the drive from Tampa, FL. We love you Michael. |

June 26th, 2009 12:49 am ET What a tragic end to such a talented man. I, like many others, grew up listening to and watching Michael & the Jackson 5. Michael was such a talented singer, dancer, songwriter, performer. I have continued to listen to his music over the years and was always amazed how gifted Michael was. My oldest daughter was involved in dance for 20 years & it was GREAT to watch the children in the studio listen & dance to Michael's music. As a "dance mom" I especially enjoyed it when my group was chosen to dance to "Thriller." These were children, boys and girls, ages 9-12, who had the time of their life dancing to this song. What impressed me was that they knew the song, they knew Michael Jackson & they wanted to dance to the song. |

June 26th, 2009 12:54 am ET Growing up in the 70's ,I can't help but remember Farrah Fawcett and the sensation she created, with her fablulous mane of hair and her flawless smile. Her legacy is not just Charlie's Angels, she proved that she could truly act,and wasn't just another pretty face. It's sad to think of the pain and anguish she endured during her illness. It's wonderful that Ryan O'neal hung in there with her and was there right up to the end;that's admirable. In my mind's eye,she will remain beautiful young;flawless; a true angel! May she rest in peace and God be with her family. |

June 26th, 2009 12:54 am ET I finally calmed down enough to write something. My God, I just can’t believe he’s really gone. I was only 9 years old when I first heard his music on the “Ed Sullivan Show”, and I was hookedever since!!! I always have been and always will be “a hard-core fan” until the end of my days. We love and miss you Michael. |

June 26th, 2009 12:57 am ET Good Morning Anderson and the World I just want to say that Michael Jackson was an "Entertainer's Entertainer" and should be remebered as such and much more. I truly feel that although we are all in shock of this amazing man's untimely passing that we should celebrate his life and legacy by listening to his music, dancing, and singing. He has given all of his life to entertaining us, it is time for us to put on a show and entertain for him. So, I say let's dance, let's shout , and shack our bodies down to the ground to show Micheal Joseph Jackson our appreciation for him and the talents that he has so graciously shared with us for decades. |

June 26th, 2009 1:01 am ET This is all so sudden! To sudden! This has not really hit me yet. My family called to see if I was ok. I still have Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad on vinyl (despite the fact that I don't have a record player). Prayers to the Jackson family. I can't imagine what his mother is going through at this time. The media is talking about his last CD as if it was a flop. I purchased it after I heard it playing at a friends gathering. It's very easy to listen to, great for the ride to work! If you don't have it, I recommend that you go and get it. |

June 26th, 2009 1:02 am ET The King of Pop is gone. Unbelievable. I am astill in shock! But he will live forever in my heart, mind, and soul!! He touched so many people with his amazing music, dance, and talent. I've been his greatest fan since I was 9 years old and first saw him on TV. My 7 brothers/sisters were stuck to the TV and hooked on Michael's music ever since. I have all his albums, all his music videos, saw his 1984 concert in Jax. Our childhood died with him today. There will never be another one like Michael Jackson!!! Long Live the King of Pop in all our HEARTS! |

June 26th, 2009 1:02 am ET Michael Jackson is undeniably the greatest entertainer of all times. He will live in our hearts forever through his music. A legend in his own right, Michael Jackson has left us much too soon. It's difficult to believe that he has actually passed away. Irregardless of what many thought about his idiosyncrasises, Michael Jackson was extremely talented and brilliant, and no one can take his accomplishments away from him. He was an extraordinary performer with admiration that transcended through several generations globally. For those that couldn't get past his outward appearance and preferred to call attention to that instead of his talent, I say that I feel sorry for you. I'm sorry that you didn't get the opportunity enjoy pure entertainment. I simply see his character flaw as a yearning for the childhood that he didn't really have. It's a shame that those closest to him could not have gotten Michael to commit to counseling. If I had the honor of knowing him, that's what I would have attempted to do. Michael was two years younger than I. My husband and I exposed our children to the Jackson's music as they grew up. They called today, both shocked and devastated, just as others were around the world. There will be no other entertainer like him. God Bless you Michael, and thank you for your contributions to the entertainment industry and our history. God Bless the entire Jackson Family! |

June 26th, 2009 1:40 am ET It is tragic, and not so suprising as the suddenness, for those who might remember Karen Carpenter and how very frail she was at the end of her life. June 26th, 2009 1:40 am ET I find it astounding that on a 24/7 news channel I cannot seem to actually find news, instead I see a two hour special on a muscians' untimely death, the story should cover no more than 10 min at most.Unless I'm terribly mistaken and CNN has reformed itself to be Entertainment Tonight. It's unfortunate that more national and world news can be found on a statirical news show like ' The Daily Show '.5 min on MJ is news to a degree,2 hrs is mere gossip. |

June 26th, 2009 1:49 am ET With a large expensive comeback tour planned, doesn't the Insurance company require a complete Physical of the Star/s? Just like a Movie company requires? If so, what were the results? Michael has looked unhealthy for quite awhile. And if he was taking large doses of prescription drugs wouldn't that show up also...or at least set off a red flag? I think there is more to this story. |

But, I have no sympathy for MJ, he was able to make a farce of our legal system for his child molesting, but now God has him, and he will finally pay.. I guess this is how God rids us of predators, not in our time, but His time.. our Real sympathies should be going out to Farah and her Family.. shes been pushed aside by the death of a Predator.. where is the justice ??? |

June 26th, 2009 2:17 am ET Michael Jackson never knew that while he did not have a real childhood, we didn't either! Michael Jackson' songs, music and dances were the one thing that kept us going in the late 1970/ early 1980 in Iran. We listened to his music, we learned the steps of his moon walk dance and we pretended we weren't in Iran. Michael helped us, then tweens and later teenagers, escape the turmoil and horror of a revolution and a war by becoming kids again. The fear of getting arrested by the Guardians of Revolution was nothing compared to being able to watch him on videocassettes, so we would spend all our money, risk getting arrested by the Guards, to buy his videocassettes and cassettes at the black market. Boy was it worth it! He had revolutionized the music industry, there was nothing like it. It is ironic that I heard of his passing when my people are getting killed, once more, in Iran. May you rest in peace Mr. Jackson, thank you for helping my friends and I, and God bless you. |

June 26th, 2009 2:18 am ET As a 40 year old, I vividly remember my grade-school teacher coming to work and crying the day after Elvis Presley died. I remember not understandin why. Naturally, as the years passed, I grew a TREMENDOUS appreciation for the King! Now, as a school teacher, I understand her (my teacher's) tears. I hope and pray that Michael didn't also cut his life short due to pills but I fear that's the case. Whatever, he was a musical/performer GENIOUS and there will never be anyone like him! I'm blessed to have been alive for them both. |

June 26th, 2009 2:43 am ET I am 47 years old so the Michael I remember and love is the young Michael. The one that appeared on the dating game when he was around 12. People talk about Thriller, etc. but most African American's my age remember ABC, Stop the Love You Save, Looking through the window. THE THIRD ALBUM, Get It Together. I remember seeing them in person when I was 10 and yelling, screaming. Writing on his albums with hearts. That is the Michael I loved and remember. |

June 26th, 2009 2:49 am ET Honestly, I refuse to accept that Michael Jackson has truly left us! It’s just too difficult to let him go; I hope it’s a bad dream that I will wake up from. But reality is that Michael Jackson is dead. In truth, Michael gave the world more than what the world gave him. Despite his contributions to pop music, Michael died a lonely man. I hope he finds eternal peace in the heavens. My heart felt condolences to his family!!! |

June 26th, 2009 2:52 am ET Some of us remember that Michael Jackson was in a fight with Sony Records Executive, where he called one Execative a Racist. Within weeks, then came the first of two Child molestation charges. Then, some of us know, and others believe, Sony Records was the driving force behind those claims, in an attempt to punish Micheal. We love you Michael, but after the Funeral, just watch the Hedgerhogs come running to collect. Cause of Death- Sony pressure. |

June 26th, 2009 3:12 am ET Thursday night, 25 June 2009: The second time was with my two sons working on a Pepsi t.v. commercial on 27 April 1993. I talked with him during breaks in filming and he was very nice and very soft spoken and my sons and I took photos with him. Every young man in the world at some point was dancing to his music. Years ago, I even had home video footage of me dancing to one of his songs and doing his dance moves. Michael Jackson was the greatest and most well known music superstar on the planet, passing up Elvis Presley and the Beatles because Michael was more liked by all races and countries on this planet. The only other person that well known on the entire planet is the late great Bruce Lee, who died in July 1973, but still known and admired around the world today and Michael will be remembered for many years into the future. When all is said and done, I just hope that he made peace in his spirit with God because lots of fame and money is great, but it does means nothing if a person's spirit is condemn. |

June 26th, 2009 3:14 am ET Michaels death is a shock to all, a loss to the music world and of course his family, children and friends. His contributions will be remember longer than any of us will be alive. The news should focus on his death, his accomplishments and his humanitarian focus in life. How sad that the news media still chooses to focus on his faults, his quirks and his problems through life and the rumors. He has already been raked over the coals, drug through the tabloids, paraded through courts. Who are we to judge? Celebrate his life, his music talents, his contributions to people's lives and focus on the positive. Why do we have to take this time to rehash the difficulites of this lonely yet brilliant man? He is clearly loved by many and that is what should count. I doubt in my lifetime there will be another like him who will even come close to magnitude. I am sad with others. Spare us the tabloid reporting, use the media to share his life, his talent and his music...please. |

June 26th, 2009 3:20 am ET I grew up with Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon and appreciate all they have given us. I am saddened by the loss to all of us, their family and friends. I'm sure after the airtime that has been and will be dedicated to them I will know even more about their lives but I am more saddened that I don't know more about the individual soldiers, airmen and marines that have died in the line of duty for the many rights and freedoms we enjoy as a society. I know CNN has dedicated a certain amount of time to our fallen and wounded and for that I thank you but I'm afraid the airtime dedicated to celebrity deaths is disproportionate to the people that have died for the very freedoms that allow us to be able to reach such stature in a free society. God bless all that have given something of themselves to us and the world in whatever way they could, large or small.... |

June 26th, 2009 3:22 am ET I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that Michael Jackson is dead. I grew up listening to his music. The 80's just weren't the 80's without Michael Jackson. I believe he spent his time with children because he never really had a childhood. He wanted to experience the childhood that he missed out on. He loved to be around and spoil children, you could see it in his character. He did nothing wrong and I'll always believe that. Now he doesn't have to hurt or suffer anymore. Rest in peace Michael Jackson. You will be greatly missed. |

June 26th, 2009 3:25 am ET Every time I hear even one chord of one song today it brings tears to my eyes. I believe that the musical genius that was Michael Jackson will never be duplicated for the rest of time. The sound, the dancing, and the vision that he created will live on forever. I remember performing in my friend’s living room to “That’s What Friends Are For” with her mom watching and laughing at us. We had to be around 11 or 12 at the time. I am a completely different person than that little girl dancing in the living room yet; Michael Jackson has remained a part of who I am. Strangeness in the recent years aside, he amazed me. I can’t yet imagine a world without Michael Jackson in it. What will happen to music now? I absolutely regret not ever seeing him in concert. What a loss for his family who seem incredibly close and what a loss for music. He was an extraordinarily talented musician who changed the face of music as we know it… RIP Michael Jackson… |

June 26th, 2009 3:27 am ET Back in the 80's, i was a somewhat chunky, clumsy kid. Used to fall down a lot. I learned how to walk and carry myself by watching Michael Jackson. Greatness in people must be recognised and respected even if some of the things they do appear strange to us. We would not learn a great deal if we restricted our attention to people we admired in totality. So thank you Prof. Jackson. I'll se you in class next semester. |

June 26th, 2009 3:27 am ET As much as I love MJ, FARRAH has UNFORTUNATELY become chopped liver to his passing. That's sad to me as I just lost my dad to cancer. When will we hear of of her death? A few weeks I guess... sad, pathetic world, he was a freak, she died of a terrible disease.......................why must her death now be undermined? |

June 26th, 2009 3:27 am ET It was such a sad day to have lost such a talented pop star. I feel I just lost a friend I grew up with. I hope we can all cherish the happiness, joy and excitement he brought to all of us and stay away from all the negative aspects of his life. Everyone knew he was lonely, and fragile. He still has his precious children and family to live through this time and I hope focus goes on the postive aspect of his life and not the negative aspect that can affect and his family, friends and fans that loved him so much. All my love and condoldence to his family... |

June 26th, 2009 3:27 am ET I remember being a teenager In Gary and sitting on my front porch listenng to "The Jackson 5" rehearse at a eighbor's house. It didn't happen often but us young people thoroughly enjoyed It. His fame came as no surprise to those of us who were there. |

June 26th, 2009 3:30 am ET I am so saddened by the passing of Micheal. I have been a Fan all my life. He will be greatly missed. I have a six year old and have shared videos in the past of Micheal and a few of his songs. While the news of his passing was on (which the child does not fully understand) and my child heard the music of Thriller on the news began to stand and dance around. This is how he touched people. There was something so very different and special about him. Even infants seemed to react to the sound of his music. Micheal and I are around the same age. I can't even sleep tonight. I am so very sad. My heart really hurts. This world will never be able to replace his talent and kind spirit. I am very sad that he was so lonely. Kersidra Thompson |

June 26th, 2009 3:32 am ET My fondest memory of Michael Jackson: years ago after his first series of operations on his face, CNN interviewed several of his fans to ask what they thought about it. One girl looked into the camera and said, "He ugly. He white lookin". For some reason, CNN did not replay this clip today. |

June 26th, 2009 3:32 am ET June 26th, 2009 3:18 am ET I like to share some few words from a poem called Kali the Mother by Swami Vivekananda, “….Who dares to misery love, And hugs the form of Death, Dance in Destruction’s dance, To him the mother comes.” This poem beautifully sums up all the energy and effort that Michael Jackson put forth. He was the LEGEND and will never be forgotten. It is sad that the MEDIA/FALSE trials kept staining is reputation and weakened his health with all the controversy. This is a TRAGIC death of a truely TALENTED. Although I was too young back than and don't remember anything, but Michael's death is like the death of BRUCE LEE. |

June 26th, 2009 3:32 am ET We all should take this horrible loss of Michael Jackson and try to be an image of how he envisioned the world, peaceful and loving! I always have admired him and always will. We are truely blessed to have seen the world through the eyes of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael and I hope now you can finally be in peace. |

June 26th, 2009 3:32 am ET I played one of his songs right after I heard the news, and I had a good long cry. I had hoped it was a mistake, it wasnt and I am just speechless! I dont want to believe it, I grew up with his music and I always felt for him. I was abused as a child and could see his pain and loneliness, I am heartbroken that he had to endure so much. I hope he finds peace, and people respect him and leave the negative thoughts about him out of it. He deserves that, we all do...... peace to you Michael and to everyone mourning for him. |

June 26th, 2009 3:34 am ET "Would he have made a comeback ?" ?! The man sold out FIFTY London concerts in 10 minutes !!! That alone speaks volumes about his superstar status – how can anyone question his relevance ? His music and his performances are why he received The Living Legend Award Grammy . I'm glad I was alive to witness his career . From "ABC " to "Off The Wall" to "Thriller" et al. Long live The King of Pop ! Michael Jackson R.I.P. |

June 26th, 2009 3:35 am ET Hello, I am still in shock and very sad about Michael's passing. Growing up listening to him was just a normal thing. Continuing to send prayers for him and his family. Anderson, I appreciate the way all of you are covering this. But I really don't understand some of the people that are cheering on camera at the hospital. Selling tee shirts?? I know that they say they are celebrating his life, but it almost seems disgraceful. It's a sad thing when people act like it's a circus when someone passes away. God bless Michael Jackson and his family |

June 26th, 2009 3:36 am ET When I heard the news of Michael Jackson's passing at work, it was a shock. I grew up with his music beginning with the Jackson 5 and followed his career as it progressed through the years. He developed into a singer/ performer, second to none. Although his personal life left a lot of distaste and doubts in everyone's mind, he obviously had some serious problems in his life, without question, his real life was his music, dancing, and his fans. That is the only life he grew up to understand, the normal life of a child and teenager growing up normally escaped him, all he knew was music and performing, and that led to his demise. He was a man trying to capture the moments of an adolescent that weren't his, since all his time was spent in developing his career, which rose far above everyone else in the performing industry. His music and passion for perfection and his on stage charisma will be sorely missed. He was a talent second to none. |

June 26th, 2009 3:39 am ET I can not believe what I am seeing on the news and on the web!! Everybody is so sad because a guy that molested little boys is is dead and now he is being put on a pedestal that is completely INSANE, if it was Joe Blow everybody would be glad that he is gone. It is so hard to be proud of a country that worships a child molester. Get it together ppl he was a sicko that molested children im glad he is gone, glad that a pervert is dead so what if he was the best entertainer ( that he was ) but he should have been locked up like everybody else would have been and let the prisoners show him what they think of ppl that harm children, NOT allowed to pay an insane amount of money to get out of trouble. This is a sad day, a very sad day my country that I have loved for 32 years now is worshiping a child molester. Any other report about a child molester would be on the news talking about how horrible they are but since he is a celebrity everybody thinks it is ok ......... How pathetic |

June 26th, 2009 3:42 am ET As an adult who had an indifferent child hood, I can truly relate to Michael creating bonds with children. When the you can't trust the adults(parents) that are suppose to protect you, you never really come out of this protective shell. I don't think he abused anyone, I think they abused his kindness and took advantage of an opportunity that was presented when he let his guards down, and actually trusted someone. My heart truly goes out to his family and the many fans that loved him the way I do. Michael Jackson, is another example of an icon that was taken down by the people who proclaimed to love him. |

June 26th, 2009 3:43 am ET I will always remember Michael Jackson till the day I die. I can’t believe you just past away so soon. I love you so much Michael as a fan and mostly as my hero, I also have never even got to see your concert in person as I always wished one day I would but now I can’t. Your music has always gave me a smile and made me want to dance each time I listen to your songs even when I am having a bad day. When I found out you left us all my soul feels so empty now. Michael Jackson you are one of the most beloved artists in my heart and everyone else’s throughout the world. I will miss you so much! Love – Alex Nguyen |

June 26th, 2009 3:47 am ET This man was a legend. King of his own realm in the world of pop. Another legend has been lost, and the world now realizes just how much he meant. You will live on Michael, and you are indeed in a much better place where fools like them can't hurt you. Rest in Peace. |

June 26th, 2009 3:47 am ET I am extremely saddened by the loss of Michael Jackson. He was a musical genius who tried to do so much for the world with his music. Whether people liked him or not he was a truely great man. Michael lived his life in reverse as a child he was forced to live as an adult and deal with things most adults couldn't possibly cope with. I believe for this reason he chose to live his adult life as a child would. Michael was an extremely lonley adult and wanted to surround himself with those how didn't want anything from him weren't waiting for him to sign a check or contract. I grew up listening to his music and being a fan. He made a difference in so many lives and will be greatly missed may the King of Pop always be remembered. Rest in Peace Michael you will be greadly missed! |

June 26th, 2009 4:03 am ET Michael Jackson was an extraordinary talent. His innovative singing style, his dancing, even his onstage clothing were all trademark "Jackson." I'll never forget first hearing the "Off the Wall" album of my oldest sister, and loving it right away, in my youth. Then came "Thriller," perhaps one of the best albums EVER made. He won 13 Grammys. Elvis won NONE. Michel Jackson IS the "King of Pop," in my opinion. His style, dance moves, and rhythm were unmatched. And on top of all that he seemed to be a thoughtful, introspective person; someone with great sensitivity. He read Walph Waldo Emerson, an author who ascribed to the simple, daily meditative state, and being 'one with nature.' I am deeply saddened, and will never forget this day. |

June 26th, 2009 4:08 am ET One thing I will remember the late King of Po is the charitable and humaitarian work he did for the underpriviledge. It's such a shame on how unscrupolous individuals have "milked" him taking advantage of his kindness, even by those alleged victrims and families. For me he never died of a simple cardiac arrest, but a broken heart. I feel the grief of his family, friends and fans. Now that he is in the loving care of our Father God, he ifinally found the peace and understanding he never got from those "righteous" individuals who judged him. Have they forgotten what Jesus said in the bible to the scribes and pharisees when they wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery if anyone who doesn't have a sin take a stone and condemn this woman, and those scribes were flabbergasted and stopped judging Magalene. May his soul rest in peace MIchael you will be in our hearts and we will never forget you. Thank yiu for the memories and sharing your talent with us God bless you all! Maria Retina Sarmiento,OP |

June 26th, 2009 4:11 am ET This may not be the appropriate place to post this but I will anyway because I don't know where else to send it. I turned on CNN this afternoon thinking there would be something on Farrah Fawcett. I was shocked, as was everyone else, to learn that Michael Jackson had been taken to the hospital and then later learned he died. Very surreal. I found it quite disturbing to see his body transferred from the helicopter to the van at the morgue. I imagine other channels showed this as well but it really shows you that there is no such thing as privacy anymore. RIP. |

June 26th, 2009 4:13 am ET I haven't felt this sad since Princess Di passed away. It's still difficult to grasp and wrap my head around. . .Just surreal. It's tragic when anyone's life is cut short, but it just seems doubly tragic when they are truly good hearted people with so much more to offer to the world. He was such an innovative talent and no one has come close to the impact he made in music and the entertainment industry. He will be so so missed, but I truly believe Michael Jackson is in a good place– where the media can't hurt him. Prayers to his family. |

June 26th, 2009 4:43 am ET Michael Jackson was a talented person, and artist. I grew up on his music. Were only one year difference in age. I'm very sorry for all the pain this man has endured thru out his life. These Alleged Allegations and Molestation's!. Do you know how painful that was for Michael! His self esteen was taken away from him. I can understand why he was taking medications. To cope with his mental being, from people.Did u really know Michael Jackson. He loved Children, people, throughful, and not selfish. My Question? When Michael wasn't feeling good that night. And his doctor was there. Why didn't he say to michael, let's go to the hospital. I'm not pointing fingers towards anyone. I'm just concerned, if it would of made a difference. Would Michael still be here? If Michael Would of went on this tour, I knew that would of gave him, his self esteen back.. And he would of been on cloud nine.Well my friend you got what you wanted. Your now on Cloud 9. I'm happy for you. I give my Sympathy to Michael's Children, And to his Family. My family and I will miss you, and you will always be in are hearts. Your life and music will live forever. I say it's funny, Why? Because people take your kindess, for weakness. Know wounder why Michael was on medications. To escape the pain that he was feeling. I know if Michael made this tour. June 26th, 2009 5:32 am ET I know this won't be a popular comment but I wonder if it is time now to say – why didn't someone close to Michael get him the help he needed so he could keep doing what he was best at – entertaining the world. Did his wealth make him untouchable and above criticism? Did nobody care enough to intervene? He needed someone like Simon Cowell as a mentor and sounding board. He needed somebody like Britney Spears' parents to spend $50,000 on a motorcade to get him counselling or public relations training or whatever it was he needed most. His spending was out of control. It wasn't so much the face lifts – it was the fact that he denied having them. He didn't seem to have the skills to deal with life or his health. It was like he lost his guardian angels and the devil gradually took him over. I can't imagine the courage it must have taken to attempt a farewell tour after a decade of public criticism, legal charges and loss of his financial empire. I heard on chum fm radio one morning that he was using a lot of body doubles and intending on lip synching alot for the farewell tour. I think he died from a broken heart and loneliness and fear. We need to take care of our gifted souls. Next time when a celebrity is having problems, the public and the media need to think about how they can help rather than just watch a train wreck in the making. We shouldn't assume that everyone has family or friends that will take on that role. We need to take leadership and just do it. Godspeed. |

June 26th, 2009 8:30 am ET I am shocked and heartbroken once again over the death of another musical icon! I I remember the death of Elvis and I remember crying on my living room floor when i got the news at age 10, and now once again we lost another very talented and soft hearted soul! May he finally have peace in Heaven and never feel lonely again! I was also wondering why we have not heard one word on Janet Jackson and whether or not she is with the family! Anything on that Anderson? |

June 26th, 2009 8:36 am ET I am still in shock that this happened to Michael. I can not stop watching the TV in hopes of there being some kind of mis understanding...I hope that everyone remembers Michael for the artistic dance and music and love that he he gave so many of us for so many years. He will always be a legend and missed by soooo very many people. I was so looking forward to his concerts in London. Tickets sold out on all show dates in 10 minutes. I was hoping this would be his come back. He is now with his idol The King of rock (ELVIS) and may the two of them find each other and shine down on our lives. what a tragedy....Rest in peace Michael...and as in "BEN"...."You have a friend in me".... Kayla... >"< |

June 26th, 2009 9:46 am ET 4 ur Good gestures u’ve been crucified, innocent soul sentenced 2 die slowly! They ridiculed u. So much love u had instead they mocked u. Good hearted, pure love, but how could they understand, a love so intricate that they can never attain, or even come close to it. Yet deep inside them they admired you, the thriving star in you! To those royal to u we moan a fallen soldier. Your legacy lives forever for no one can ever top that. God rest you in eternal peace for they will never hurt u again! |

June 26th, 2009 9:48 am ET Michael Jackson's passing seems to have overshadowed Farrah Fawcett'spassing as well as her life. Let's not forget this courageous woman and the battle she fought for so long. God rest her soul as well as Michael Jackson's soul |

June 26th, 2009 9:53 am ET I'm sure I'll get blasted for this but... I enjoyed Michael Jackson's music, but he became a sad, pathetic, unhappy man. His passing means he's over all that. That being said, the wall-to-wall media blather and obligatory public gatherings/displays about it is an insult to the Iranian citizens daily risking and losing their lives in the struggle for freedom. Are our interests so shallow, our sense of proportion so warped that it's more important to drive all night to stand in front of the hospital where a pop singer died than it is to speak up in solidarity with our Iranian brothers and sisters? And no: I am not Iranian, just an American who wishes Americans would grow up. |
