It is SO sad to hear that Michael may have died. I'm waiting to hear that from the hospital before I say it is true. He was a great talent and will be missed if it's true! My prayers go out to his family. And I hope the press respects his children's privacy!

Okay, Michael Jackson is gone. The fans that have been his fans since the Motown 25th anniversary special have been saying goodbye to him slowly for years and years. My wish would be for the press to leave his family alone and let them say goodbye in a peaceful way. At last maybe now he can rest. I'll always have his music and that was his gift to us. LEAVE THE REST OF IT ALONE.

Kendra Burley   June 25th, 2009 7:19 pm ET

I feel deeply heart broken about Michaels Jackson . I was wondering if he still had his kid. If it's true that he's dead I am wondering what's going to happen with his kids.

Emmett Simmons   June 25th, 2009 7:21 pm ET

The heavenly transporter of blessed souls had not moved for a few hours awaiting a notable passenger. Suddenly, a cavalcade of angels appeared escorting a beautiful woman. She stepped into the transported and was greeted by the driver, "welcome aboard Ms. Fawcett". She smiled and said
"I'm glad to be here, when do we leave". The driver replied that it was not his
determination, but that of St. Peter.
After a few hours, there was an extreme sound of fluttering wings as another cavalcade of angels appeared. The person escorted stepped into the the transported and was greeted by the driver, "welcome aboard Mr. Jackson." Micheal replied, "thank you, the trip was unexpected, I appreciate you waiting." The driver replied, "you are welcome, but the determination was that of St. Peter. He said, "now we will be on our way.
When the transported arrived at the "Pearly Gates of Heaven" St. Peter was standing there. He said " I want to welcome you both to Heaven. I have someone here that has been awaiting your arrival.
Farrah and Micheal looked and to their surprise they so Ed McMahon. Micheal spoke to Ed saying "it was nice of you to wait here for us." Ed replied, "do you think that I would miss the opportunity to say HE....RE..... IS..
MICHEAL...

A thought of inspiration and humor that I wanted to share with you, if you so desire, you may pass it one.

Sandra Robertson, GA   June 25th, 2009 7:25 pm ET

My thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family during their most difficult days ahead and to the world of fans who loved him like family, may we all join together in remembrance of Michael's short life and the God given gift he shared with the world.

Derrick Jackson   June 25th, 2009 7:28 pm ET

This news is incredibly shocking and disturbingly sad. Michael Jackson is now Elvis. Its sad for America.

Cindy   June 25th, 2009 7:28 pm ET

The LA coroner just confirmed Michael died. So very sad to hear!! He will be very, very missed! He was an excellent talent and there will be no one like him again! Once again I say my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. And PLEASE media..leave his children alone!!

Annie Kate   June 25th, 2009 7:29 pm ET

Wow. I can't believe it – Michael Jackson dead. It reminds me of when Elvis died – you just couldn't believe the news was true. I guess Michael has finally had his last curtain call.

Isabel, Brazil   June 25th, 2009 7:30 pm ET

We lost a legend of the music world. Despite all the problems that Jackson had, nobody can deny the contribution he gave to the music, dance and behavior of a generation.

Today we lost much of a our generation and youthfulness... and of my adolescence

Michael Jackson was the best!
Michael Jackson will always be an idol.

BettyAnn,Nacogdoches,TX   June 25th, 2009 7:30 pm ET

Willie Nelson and Ray Price are still singing at almost 80. I can NOT believe that Michael Jackson is dead.
I have his 45's!!!
What a complex confused and excessively talented human.
I am shocked.

Jasmine   June 25th, 2009 7:39 pm ET

we never really understand the power of a person's work until they are dead, but Michael Jackson was an exception.

Rest in Peace Michael.... :(

Michael Then   June 25th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

Put all his personal problems aside and anyone born in the 60's,70's,80's can't deny that he was the greatest entertainer of our time RIP Michael Jackson

Andrew   June 25th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

Jeff Goldblum pronounced DEAD today in New Zealand

3 celebs dead

Cynthia, NC   June 25th, 2009 7:52 pm ET

I am still in shock over the fact that Michael Jackson has passed away. He was a pop icon in not only my childhood but my adult life as well. I choose to remember him as the Michael Jackson from my high school days rather than the person many of us came to know over the last fifteen years or so. May he rest in peace.

sam, tn   June 25th, 2009 7:54 pm ET

his family is in my prayers..........rip king of pop:(

Ramona   June 25th, 2009 7:54 pm ET

@Emmett Such a sad day, both losses, FF and MJ; thanks for your inspiration; a little humor, I needed that. My heart goes out to both of their families.

Michelle   June 25th, 2009 7:55 pm ET

I am totally stunned by the news of the death of Michael Jackson.
He is the 1st person I saw in concert. I though Off The Wall and
Thriller were just amazing. Right now I am trying to come up with
a list of his top 10 videos. Of course, Thriller is the top choice ,next
would have to be Billie Jean.

Jessie Baker   June 25th, 2009 7:56 pm ET

A piece of my youth has died today....My children will know his songs and when they sing them....I will smile....Peace, M.J.

Christine, Tennessee   June 25th, 2009 7:58 pm ET

I remember going to see Michael Jackson when I was young. He came to the little town of Knoxville Tennessee to perform. My dad took me and my 4 sisters. What a sight we were. These teenager girls with their daddy. We loved it. It was a great time. RIP Michael. We love you and will always remember "Thriller" and the Jackson 5.

daniel   June 25th, 2009 7:59 pm ET

i love u michael forever!

Eugenia - San Francisco, Ca   June 25th, 2009 8:02 pm ET

Shouldn't Farrah be up there with Michael on CNN.com? What she doesn't generate as much viewers as the molester?

atim   June 25th, 2009 8:02 pm ET

I always thought in my sub-conscious that Micheal was immortal. I mean we all die one day but i just always thought i would have gone before he went. R.I.P Micheal you were the best

yinka yinka   June 25th, 2009 8:03 pm ET

Micheal was the good for some (idol, icon, phylanthropist, and bad for other, if you know what I mean. But out of all his legacies, his children and family are left after him. I really sympathize with his mother and children. Even his sibblings will be able to move on. But the children will never have another dad, and mother looses part of her soul each time she looses a child. May his soul rest in peace, but may his children be able to carry on peaceful and fulfilling lives, and may God protect them and comfort.

Helen, Reading, UK   June 25th, 2009 8:05 pm ET

It's extremely sad news, to have lost two icons like Michael and Farrah on the same day. I was lucky enough to see him perform at Wembley Stadium back in the early 90's, and he certainly put on one hell of a show. I also recall when his friend Uri Geller renewed his wedding vows. Uri lived near to my home town and his wife often came into the bank that I worked at. It was rumoured that Michael was going to be best man, so we were all on tenterhooks, waiting to see if he popped in to cash a traveller's cheque! Hope that he can at last find peace, my thoughts go out to his kids and family, also to Farrah's. RIP both of you.

Susan   June 25th, 2009 8:05 pm ET

So sad today. Loved Michael, loved his music, his generousity... None of us are perfect and very few of us are genius.. The magnitude of his talent was so wonderful. I went into a bakery for lunch one day and they were playing his Best Hits and everybody was singing and happy! That's what he did amongst so much more...

He will be dearly missed.....

Lilibeth   June 25th, 2009 8:06 pm ET

Today is a very sad day indeed. First Farrah Fawcett, now Michael Jackson. When the news was confirmed, well, what can I say, I just couldn’t believe it. I grew up listening to his music. His talent was simply unmatched. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones. May he rest in peace.

Caroline Jackson   June 25th, 2009 8:07 pm ET

Anderson,
I thought it was very disrespectful the way Katie responded to Larry King's to pay respect to Farrah Fawcett passing and her death being over shadowed my Michael's death. She certainly has lost our respect when just she just responded with "may she rest in peace" and went right back to talking about Michael.

Dee   June 25th, 2009 8:08 pm ET

I really believe he was never meant to grow old. He was on loan to us, a special gift. And now he has been called home.

Frances   June 25th, 2009 8:11 pm ET

Mr. Jackson was NEVER the same after the Pepsi mishap. If I had to guess, I would say that was ground zero for his prescription medication addiction. It was probably the start of his "trying to capture youth" psychology that took him down a dangerous, bizarre and strange road as well. So sad...

John K.   June 25th, 2009 8:11 pm ET

Unreal, I still have chills up my spine thinking about his passing, he was the real Peter Pan.. enjoy Neverland buddy!

We'll Miss You~

Kimball Sterling   June 25th, 2009 8:12 pm ET

I heard someone say a few minites ago that an atopsy would be performed tomorrow. If I recall back in the mid 1980s Jackson was one of the first to state he he would have his body frozen hoping someday to come back to life. it was a big story then. Anybody remember that? I r ecall him paying about 50k for this process years ago. Crynology?

jill, bay area, Ca   June 25th, 2009 8:13 pm ET

Where are Michael's children? How come nothing is being said about them?

Dave   June 25th, 2009 8:15 pm ET

Are Iran and North Korea now stable?
I have not heard anything about them at all since this afternoon...

It is time to get back to the REAL NEWS!
Leave Michael (and Ed and Farrah) alone.

concern/denver Colorado   June 25th, 2009 8:16 pm ET

Michael will be so missed ..in so manys different ways This is a great lost for the world and even greater for the USA ..One of the best single and group entertainers ...

Angela   June 25th, 2009 8:18 pm ET

Anderson...no you didn't ask whay were the people gathering at UCLA Medical. You should not be reporting if you cannot understand the iconic stature of Michael Jackson. You haven't seen anything yet. They are adoring fans and their simply doing what fans do...paying their RESPECT!

Jesus   June 25th, 2009 8:19 pm ET

When Michael sang the song Ben it made me cry and looking back at the lerics of the song it seem as he was singing that song to me . Today we lost an American Icon.

here is the some of the leric to the song

Ben, the two of us need look no more
We both found what we were looking for
With a friend
to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you, my friend, will see
You've got a friend in me
(you've got a friend in me)

Good bye friend rest in peace.

Alphonso Nall   June 25th, 2009 8:20 pm ET

First of all my heart goes out to the extended Jackson family along with my sincere condolences. Is it just me or does it seem that events happen in three's. Meaning, Ed Mcmahon, Farrah Fawcett, & now Michael Jackson. :-(

gail fonrose   June 25th, 2009 8:20 pm ET

i grew up trying to be like micheal jackson it is sad that he is gone.like his song said gone to soon.RIP mj. and farrah fawcett ilove u both u will be missed

Rany Ibrahim   June 25th, 2009 8:20 pm ET

Its a sad day indeed for Music World. Michael Jackson was a legend. His legacy was Global and went strong through time and place. I remember growing up in the Middle East and influenced by his music, waiting for his albums. regardless to his strange behaviors lets remember him as the Great Entertainer he was.

Kristi Little   June 25th, 2009 8:21 pm ET

This is a sad day. I am upset by the stir about the possiblity of rx med abuse. The stress of being in the lime light your entire life will at some points in your life wear on you. Imagine having people in manic crowds faint at the sight of you wherever you go. His fame is uparalleled and if you think people like you and me can suffer from stress and take strong meds then he probably could too. I think it was wrong and inappropriate for the family spokesperson to say such comments. Distracting the media into a frenzy of alligations and speculation when we should spend at least these first few moments remembering his amazing life! this shouldn't be a circus not now.

Joel Banjo-Johnson   June 25th, 2009 8:24 pm ET

I love Michael Jackson and is and will always be a true loyal fan. He is THE GREATEST. For years he faced ridicule and abuse but his fans always stood by him–Standing by and always standing strong. A TRUE Legend.

Michael Jackson is THE WORLD IDOL
Love you Michael!

Melina   June 25th, 2009 8:27 pm ET

I come home to get the coverage on CNN about Michael Jackson's shocking death. To my great dissapointment at about 4;45 – 5;00p.m. I here not one but all 3 commentators on your station talking about his legal/molestation court issues. (this was shortly after Reverand Sharpton's great tribute to him.) Please, why today? Can't we as a society just simply respect the dead?? Today was not the day for that discussion- mabey tommorow but not today. Get over the need to talk about negativity, remember the good he did for kid's, "We Are the World",etc., etc. We all already know the history – now can we appreciate the pure talent? just for the day?
Thank you.

Lisa   June 25th, 2009 8:28 pm ET

So sad. I'm 48 and grew up with the Jackson 5 and Mj. My 20 yr old daughter also grew up with him a little differently but we're both sad. I learned to really dance to Billy Jean. RIP MJ!

Jay   June 25th, 2009 8:29 pm ET

My heart goes out to the Jackson family, but something doesn't feel right about their long-time friend and lawyer, Brian Oxman. The way he brought up medication abuse by Michael was awkward.

Before he called into CNN, I was hoping there would be an official investigation into Michael’s death. How easy it would be for someone to kill him and then blame it on health or medication because of the rumors that have surrounded Michael most of his life. The way Brian Oxman insisted on talking about medication abuse, even though the anchor tried repeatedly to respectfully change the subject, makes me wonder if he’s setting up the cover story for a murder.

I do hope there will be a thorough investigation.

Susan Middleton   June 25th, 2009 8:29 pm ET

Please don't neglect Farrah in all the coverage of Michael Jackson. Both were well known celebrities...with their own fans! I have heard several CNN people speak as if Farrah's death is not worth talking about due to the Michael's death. Can't we remember both...he was a talent all his life and she was a beauty and an icon in her own right. A lady, who in the final years, showed incredible grace, faith and taught all of us a thing or two about facing the end of life. She deserves to be remembered.

Marta Campos   June 25th, 2009 8:33 pm ET

Prayers for Jackson's families, same for Fawcett's relatives, but I almost die when I heard the news today that Democracy it is in jeopardy in my beloved country Honduras, it's ... so sad, so sad!

MsRhonda   June 25th, 2009 8:34 pm ET

STOP SPECULATING ON HIS DEATH. Stop talking about all of the unproven allegations that unfortunately impacted this man for a period of time and remember Michael Jackson for what he has brought to all of us. The beautiful music he and his brothers sung which touched us in so many ways; his extraodinary talent; his soul and his love for people. Michael Jackson was AN EXCEPTIONAL MAN and you should memorialize him as such.

Remember this song "Man In The Mirror" and take a hard look at yourselves and your own lives and stop passing judgement.

Michael Jackson you may now rest in PEACE!!!

PrettyJewels   June 25th, 2009 8:35 pm ET

I was shocked to hear this! as everyone else.
Our prayers are really with his family that he leaves behind and his children .
And Yes, the same goes to Farrah and her family and children.
I hear a press conference is starting soon.
Weird how these things bring people together .

Jeanette   June 25th, 2009 8:36 pm ET

I agree with you Eugenia, Farrah was loved by many but would not generate as many viewers as the molester.

Eugenia - San Francisco, Ca   June 25th, 2009 8:38 pm ET

Ok, I don’t understand. I was driving home listening to the radio when I heard the news about Jackson and the DJ was sad.

Question?
Why would anyone feel sad that a child molester has died?

Our society makes me ill sometimes, the people we put on pedastools.

Just because people loved his music, you have to be kidding.

It’s like loving OJ because he was a good football player, Right?

Elizabeth J   June 25th, 2009 8:38 pm ET

I am not happy. I watch CNN all the time. And, I am saddened with the way you are reporting this story. I LOVED Michael Jackson when he was a black man, and a real musician. I did not love musicians then. I knew no black men. I was in the fourth grade and I loved him so much that I dreampt about him. He was amazing to me. I was a young white girl living in Massachusetts who was completely and utterly in awe of him.I wanted his glove. I really do have that perfect image in my head forever. (I have blocked out the past 20 years of his life)
Farrah died on the wrong day. It is not fair. She was in no way the artist Jackson was, but was for me, a person to connect with as a woman ( or should say, a young girl ) It is not at all nice that you do not even give her a second of your time or television space. You make me very sad. Farrah was perfect and amazing. She could do no wrong. And, you know, that really is no less important to 10 year then a beautiful black man and his one glove. I loved her. And, I loved him. Be nice to both of them please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NO.Be nicer to Farrah, you are already being quite nice to Michael Jackson. Too nice.- Elizabeth

Chanel A. Hubby   June 25th, 2009 8:38 pm ET

I grew up listening to Michael's music. I think he truly was an angel sent from heaven to make peope think about how we could make this world a better place for everyone and to treat people with love, kindness & respect. Alot of people didn't get a chance to see that or just didn't want to. They only wanted to judge him. Michael, may you spend the rest of eternity sitting beside the father in heaven. To the Jackson family; may you take comfort knowing that millions of people are praying for your family & his 3 beautiful children. Everyone knows this is a very difficult time for the family & i hope the media will give you the respect & privacy you deserve. I LOVE YOU MICHAEL – RIP

Chanel

"Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight. Here one day, gone one night." Michael Jackson, you're home.

Denis John   June 25th, 2009 8:43 pm ET

I am saddened by the death of Michael Jackson as I enjoyed
his music,,, but it saddens me that the death of Farrah Fawcett has been virtually ignored by CNN,,, she has been such an inspiration to so many people ,,, like my wife and myself who have dealt with the horror of cancer in our family,,It reminds me of Princess Diana and Mother Teresa who died days apart,,, but Mother Teresa was only given the briefest mention,,,, both great women,,, but one was more news worthy it seems. I pray for you all

debra   June 25th, 2009 8:44 pm ET

I'm watching the sad news about Micheal and feel so sorry for his family and children. I personnally don't like how the reporters and commentators are trying to get people to comment on Micheal's legal problems and having Jeffrey on at this time is not appropriate. Let's remember the true artist and talent that Micheal was at least for a few hours.

James   June 25th, 2009 8:45 pm ET

Wow another famous person died. cnn has been reporting on this for hours now while the real news roles by in small print at the bottom of the screen. That old guy with the bs news show says he's going to bump farrah for this story, shame on him. his show is at least an hour. D#mn Ed Mcmahon died ,he still ows me a milloin dollers

I’ve never responded to an issues using any form of
media. But, I was drawn to express how I am feeling. Why is it necessary to revisit the negative news when many people are in shock with the sudden death of Michael Jackson? I wish those in front to the camera would allow the public to morn for a while before rehashing his past or allowing their own views to slip in to their reporting. I am shock to hear about Michael and even more disturbed by the negative comments given so soon after his passing! If you have ever lost a close friend or family member you understand the need to remember the happier times. Can we respect him in his death if only for a little while? I remember as a kid saying ” I’m going to marry Michael Jackson” :^) I need a little time before he is torn down in public again.

Janie   June 25th, 2009 8:50 pm ET

Whatever one thought of Michael Jackson's perosnal like there is no doubt that he was a genuis musically. And it is through his music just like Elvis that he will live on. May he rest in peace.

wak548   June 25th, 2009 8:50 pm ET

He crossed the color lines. Remember MTV would not play any African American videos. He was the 1st to get played.

Presley   June 25th, 2009 8:57 pm ET

Jeff Goldblum's manager/agent confirms he is alive & well, it was a hoax, a bad and tasteless hoax...via Twitter

Catherine   June 25th, 2009 8:58 pm ET

Michael touched people's hearts and his influence spanned multiple generations. I deeply hope that the media will be as kind in death as they were nasty in life.

Laura   June 25th, 2009 8:58 pm ET

I fear he will be Elvis like and we'll have years upon years of "Michael Jackson is alive" and MJ sightings.

patty   June 25th, 2009 8:58 pm ET

The world has lost a true superstar today. Although Michael was different in many ways,no one can deny how talented this man was. One of my first albums that I ever owned as a kid was "Thriller" and my parents had to tell me to turn the volume down so many times. What a great memory. He will truely be missed. To the friends and family of Michael my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Letty-TX   June 25th, 2009 9:00 pm ET

If MJ is really gone this is truly a tragedy! I grew up on ur music. You will sorely be missed. We love you and will miss u sorely! Many thoughts and prayers for the Jackson (including the CHILDREN) family! God Bless!

The biggest icon from my childhood is gone. I hope in death Michael can find the peace he was searching for in life.

Maureen   June 25th, 2009 9:04 pm ET

I am not a big fan of Michael Jackson, although anyone dying is sad...BUT..Does anybody out there in TV Media Land realize that a very fine woman, Farrah Fawcett, who courageously battled a disease not of her making, past away TODAY also???? I think it is rude and disgusting that this very weird singer, gets all the attention. SHAME on all of you!!

Diane N.   June 25th, 2009 9:06 pm ET

I'll cherish the music and the memories that the music brings, he's at peace now, something he's been looking for for so long. He lives on through his music. Dance in his memory. I will.

Leah   June 25th, 2009 9:06 pm ET

I'm very sad that we have all lost such a wonderful and inspirational entertainer. My thoughts go out to his family, children and his fans. MJ will live on forever in our hearts through his fantastic music. You can finally rest in peace MJ.

Heather - Spokane, WA   June 25th, 2009 9:15 pm ET

Im still shocked at this news. While watching the news I was remembering when I was 7 and in the 1st grade when Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' video premiered on tv at night and my parents allowed my brother and I to stay up late to see it. The next day going to school it was the big thing that everyone was talking about and asking everyone if they watched it the night before. I think right now that its funny that something as simple as that created such a hoopla for a bunch of 1st grade kids but as an adult you then realize that you saw music history. That is one thing I will never forget.

chris   June 25th, 2009 9:38 pm ET

All of this attention on Michael Jackson. Sure it's sad and may he rest in peace. However, Michael was a victim of his own lifestyle. I would lay bets that they will find that there was drugs involved in this death.
Then beautiful Farrah Fawcett passes away after battling cancer for the past three years. She filmed the graphic effects of what cancer is
as a way of promoting awareness of cancer. She should be the one
getting the press today. She was never charged with molesting a child and getting away with it. We should be thinking of her today,
not having the press cram Michael Jackson down our throats all night.
He was a talented singer/performer who threw his life away by living a strange life, who ran away to another country when other allegations were about to surface. Come on Anderson, give Farrah the press time she so much deserves.

Natalia   June 25th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

I still can't believe it, It's so sudden, but all I can say is that you'll be missed. I'll always remember you. RIP MJ.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   June 25th, 2009 9:57 pm ET

My hearts goes to Michael Jackson’s family……… Hope they will deal with heart attack, cope and comfortable for Jacksons……. My thoughts and prayers with Jacksons family….. Michael Jackson was my favorite singer, he was really good dance his video………..My heart breaking for Jacksons family.

Ann   June 25th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

I'm on hour 5 of watching CNN today. I'm devastated by the news. I realize it's your job to report everything, but the previous hours of CNN which were devoted to celebrating Michael's musical legacy were much more meaningful to me than the last 20 minutes of his legal issues and financial problems. Please keep to the positive.

Jordan J.   June 25th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Michael, I love you and your songs. May you rest in peace and let your legacy live on.

Larry Jaramillo   June 25th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

you know, I am still in shock, from his sudden death. I love Michael and so does all of my family. I can't believe this happened, the world has suffered a great loss, the music industry, it's just so hard to accept. I was excited to hear that he was trying to work out a deal with one of the large hotels in Las Vegas, but I guess that will never happen now, GOD BLESS YOU MICHAEL AND we will always remember you, WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL !!!!

Lynn   June 25th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

It hurts so bad to say goodbye to someone as talented as he was, I just hope that CNN will give him the respect he deserves, and stop killing him with such terrible comments I am hearing from Anderson Copper. It's not like other performers such as Elvis, Farrah, Sinatra and others who have been icons in the entertainment world. Give him family time and respect they also need during this time. And stop trying to make his death look like the election night. You guys could do better Michael Jackson changed the face of Music for this country- remember that.

I'm still in shock to hear of Michael's passing. He as the most phenominal entertainer of my life time. He was passionate about everything. Maybe now those who tried to tarnish his name will show some respect and let his family alone and let him rest in peace. They hurt him in life, leave him alone in death.

nana agustina malik   June 25th, 2009 11:12 pm ET

I think Michael is the most talented musician ever, he is the legend. I was very happy to hear that he is going to make a tour, but then I hear this shocking news. May he rest in peace, May he is in the hand of Allah. You can rest now michael... I love you..

Nicole lafleur   June 25th, 2009 11:14 pm ET

Micheal Jackson, out of all his career i think this should be an important message..then and now it is still the same...his faults and all this is the most important message ....
There comes a time when we heed a certain call (Lionel Richie)
When the world must come together as one (Lionel Richie & Stevie Wonder)
There are people dying (Stevie Wonder)
Oh, and it's time to lend a hand -to life (Paul Simon)
The greatest gift of all (Paul Simon/Kenny Rogers)

We can't go on pretending day by day (Kenny Rogers)
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change (James Ingram)
We're all a part of God's great big family (Tina Turner)
And the truth (Billy Joel)
You know love is all we need (Tina Turner/Billy Joel)

( CHORUS )
We are the world, we are the children. (Michael Jackson)
We are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving (Michael Jackson)
There's a choice we're making we're saving our own lives (Diana Ross)
It's true we'll make a better day just you and me (Michael Jackson/Diana Ross)

Well, send'em you your heart so they know that someone cares (Dionne Warwick)
And their lives will be stronger and free (Dionne Warwick/Willie Nelson)
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread (Willie Nelson)
And so we all must lend a helping hand (Al Jurreau)

( REPEAT CHORUS )
We are the world, we are the children (Bruce Springsteen)
We are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving (Kenny Logins)
Ooo there's a choice we're making we're saving our own lives (Steve Perry)
It's true we'll make a better day just you and me (Daryl Hall)

When you're down and out there seems no hope at all (Michael Jackson)
But if you just believe there's no way we can fall (Huey Lewis)
Well, well, well, let's realize oooo that a change can only come (Cyndi Lauper)
When we (Kim Carnes)
stand together as one (Kim Carnes/Cyndi Lauper/Huey Lewis)
yeah,yeah,yeahhhh (Cyndi Lauper)
(REPEAT CHORUS AND FADE )
if that many celebs thought it was important enough to get involved then it is still important today...so remember him for i think this is the most important message they have all said...and rings true to this day ...thanks AC for paying attention...love ya and he will be missed...

When I heard Michael was taken to the hospital, my heart started beating and pumping like mad that it started hurting, I knew it would be a tough night, I live in the netherlands, writing this at 5:17 in the morning, still watching CNN, I give the Jackson family, and the entire world, my deepest condolences

Michael Jackson will surely be remembered as the music icon that he was. As a young child in the home of Indian immigrants, it was amazing how the images and the sounds of Michael Jackson pervaded our home and managed to awe even my parents. I think I was 8 when he first moonwalked across the stage and I remember my mouth falling open as I ran to wake my father to try and explain how he had just glided backward across the stage. I was so disappointed that my dad had missed it! I remember that while my brother was 6 years older than me and there was a cultural divide in our home that his image and sounds never failed to bring us together. Twenty-two years later, my husband agreed that when they first announced us as Mr. and Mrs. Davis at our wedding reception – that we could walk out – or I should say dance/moonwalk out to Billie Jean – my all time favorite song. As a 33 year old professional – this all seems silly but that song will always get me on the dance floor. Just as he managed to capture people of all cultures and languages, he managed to capture people of varying ages, social status and professions with his music. He will truly be missed.

Marcio Correa   June 25th, 2009 11:20 pm ET

I was going to sleep, when it came to my mind: "turn on the tv"! CNN reporting the death of my idol in the younger years!? My friend in the end of the long parties, and across the lonely backway to my home I thought "she's out of my life...".
Dear Michael, God bless you, host you, forgive you... anyone makes mistakes; but you have made so many people happy through your so short life; a life to be remember, a voice we'll never forget!
A part of my own story has gone with you; I hope to hear you again, someday.
Oh Lord, have mercy of our dear friend's soul.

Bern Houston   June 25th, 2009 11:21 pm ET

Michael Jackson what a legend!!!!!!! His music will live in our hearts forever.
Too bad he was so misunderstood by so many. I believe he was a loving, kind, and passionate person.
His talent was amazing!!!!!! My prayers and thoughts are with Michael and Farrah, tonight as the world mourns their leaving this world.

Priscilla   June 25th, 2009 11:21 pm ET

Michael is in a better place now. May God meet you with open arms in heaven. I watched all the coverage of his trial on Court TvVand read all the court room transcript. That is how much I loved the man. RIP hun.

jan   June 25th, 2009 11:25 pm ET

I was so thrilled to learn of Michael's upcoming concert, and was optimistic that he would have one here in NYC. It breaks my heart to know that this will never happen. When The Jackson Five hit the airways in 1969 I became a fan, and continue to be a fan to this day. Truly the King is Dead. This is like losing a member of my own family. My heart breaks for his family, may he rest in peace. Michael, I never can say goodby.

Tess   June 25th, 2009 11:25 pm ET

He is amazing and unforgettable.

Joshua   June 25th, 2009 11:26 pm ET

I'm a 12 year old boy and I love Michael Jackson! When ever I hear his music I have to get up and dance! I only have three words to describe this man "King of Pop!" Michael Jackson's Legacy will live on forever

Betty Heinz   June 25th, 2009 11:28 pm ET

Michael Jackson was a child that never had the chance to be the little boy. I have questions as to why he was not taken to the hospital last night when the doctor was called? What type of medicatin was given to him by the doctor? Why is there such a hush hush on these questins? Yes he is gone, buy why? Fifty is in our day and age very young. What happened they are not saying?

Kathy from Wisconsin   June 25th, 2009 11:32 pm ET

His life was strange but his music, dancing and overall level of entertainment was fabulous. I hope that people remember that he was a father, son and brother and respect that there are 3 children without a father.

Roy   June 25th, 2009 11:33 pm ET

Thank you for your continuing coverage of Michael's passing. I am 46 years old, and Michael and the Jackson family has served as an inspiration since I was 8 years old. My heart goes out to his family and other loved ones. May the world remember his humanitarianism as much as his enormous talent.

dawn   June 25th, 2009 11:33 pm ET

My thought go out to Michaels Family & Children. Also the Media needs to stop focusing on the bad things he was accused of because you or I can't prove it , and lets focus on ALL the good things he did. I remeber when he was all the girls could think of, and the guys wanted to be him. Hes a LEGEND and his memory does not need to be dragged through the MUDD!!!!!! Theres alot alot of fans that don't want to re-live the money hungry people out there. I'm 37 and I have teenage boys who are rasied on Michael Jackson & Elvis and the will also remeber, Love him. Michael will live on in my house! The way he should, not by the media and there sick and twisted ways!!

triston   June 25th, 2009 11:33 pm ET

ur songs were awsome i wish u did not die

Cindy   June 25th, 2009 11:34 pm ET

Everyone has a connection to Michael, his music brings up in the minds of every single person many memorable moments and this has made him a very special part of our lives and we also recognize that he sacrificed his entire life to entertain us and there is no one that can sustain such pressure but somehow he managed to do it for so long in a sort of god-like fashion and deep inside we know that's something to admire, this is why we loved him unconditionally...

I learned today that... A world without Michael Jackson is a world i somehow never expected would come...

triston   June 25th, 2009 11:34 pm ET

i love u

Patricia   June 25th, 2009 11:36 pm ET

As with JFK, Elvis and now Michael, I shall always remember where I was when I heard the shocking and devastating news of his passing. I am blown away and numb! Being only 3 years older than he, I grew up watching his career, listening to his music loudly in my T-Bird, watching his videos and amazed at his meteoric rise to stardom. He constantly wowed me with his style and moves bringing a smile to my face and joy to my heart. He is a part of my life's history as is Elvis. And as with Elvis, Michael changed music... melding his music with film...as always on the forefront of the industry. My heart is saddened and heavy for we have lost an icon of our age. Gone too soon. Now, he is singing with Elvis.

Love you Michael... Always!
Patricia

BRANDON   June 25th, 2009 11:41 pm ET

The worst part is that he has lived his life misunderstood! He has felt like an outcast. KIDS were his comfort and not in a sick pedophile way. He felt comfortable with kids because they don"t judge. He has given his life to entertain us. We have taken so much without even trying to understand him.

HE WILL FOREVER BE MISSED! HE IS THE GREATEST TO EVER DO IT!

awura adjoa   June 25th, 2009 11:42 pm ET

cant believe Micheal Jackson is GONE for good. I thought this was a news channel it might as well be TMZ. We've got soldiers dieing, flu viruses, government stepping on our rights and the presidents intentional devaluation of the american dollor and you people spending all day telling us about the death of a child molester.

If we want news we've got watch cspan, get it right from the source.then we got decifer politician doubletalk to find they're telling us the same thing as the conspericy websites Why aren,t you doing your job

Amekjang Barkuei   June 25th, 2009 11:58 pm ET

When I heard/watched thriller for the very first time, I was about 5 years old; back in Sudan. I didn't understand a word from what he was saying; because I couldn't speak English..but who cares? I was jumping around, acting like I was singing, and ever since then, I fell in love with him...R.I.P my very first crush ever..Michael Jackson.

Molly Nelson   June 25th, 2009 11:58 pm ET

Remembering Michael Jackson, I remember the first t.v. show that
had the Jackson 5 on it. We were all in love with Michael. As years
went on the love grew. We couldn't get enough of Michael. One summer my husband, 3 children and I went on a vacation to California and went to Knotts Berry farm. Some of the rides were blocked off. What was going on? Michael Jackson was there making a commercial. We stopped to sit on a park bench to rest our weary bones and have an icecream, and lo and behold behind us walking down the railroad tracks was Michael Jackson and his crew. Hardly anyone was around us. We sat in amazement, as he walked down the tracks in his glittery outfit. I could have reached out and touched him. We were too shocked to do anything but stare. What a wonderful memory.
I also have a Michael Jackson Thriller 12 inch doll with glittering magical gloves, and microphone still in the box that I bought on a whim in 1984 and it has been in my cedar chest. What would that be worth today? priceless. His memory will last forever in the hearts of my family. He was a truely talented genius, and I am so glad I was around to see him grow up. The world lost a wonderful icon.

Denise   June 25th, 2009 11:59 pm ET

My heart is so heavy, yes, I know people die every day,but there will Never, I repeat never be another Michael Jackson this crap that they call music today in no ways compares to what Mike did.Rest in peace fallen angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I grew up listening to MJ's music and watching his video. What a legend, what a loss. I blame all those that mentally beat him up over and over, from his Father to those false law suits to whomever tried to bring down his name. Only now may they realize the loss of someone truly special. We love you MJ. May you rest in peace.

Rest in peace Michael.
You will be always in our hearts.
You were an angel, maybe a lonely one, as they say: but be sure that you will always be remembered and loved.

1958 a star was born, a star that will always remain alive in our hearts.

Frankie , Las Vegas   June 26th, 2009 12:51 am ET

Have a heart, Eugenia from San Francisco. The most talented person in the entertainment world has just passed at the early age of 50 and and you have the gall to sit there on you sinless backside and accuse Michael of being a child molester. If I called you a child molester, does it make it true ? If you are not able to prove it , keep your mouth shut and try to say something comforting to his family...What a b....ch you are.

Mari   June 26th, 2009 1:00 am ET

I pray for the Jackson's family and that Michael Jackson's in passing that he will rest in peace because some people in this world and flesh did not give it to him.

Please forget the bad and ugly and think about the good he brought to the world through the wonderful talent that God gave him.

Please press core and gossipers and haters, let his family have privacy for . God Bless everyone.

I've always been a Michael fan I'm just older that he was. Michael was brilliant, the things he did with Billie Jean and Thriller, later black and white, and his We are the World work, when you truly look at it was brilliant and way before others!! The dancing, the videos, we all watched and I personally loved. How sad that his life is cut short! Such a talented man! Whether you are a fan or not, this is a great loss to our music in our lifetime. I'm thankful that I grew up with the Jackson 5 and then watched Michael do so many good things.
Our prayers to his family at this hard time, I hope they are left alone to do what they need to do!

Carolyn King   June 26th, 2009 3:52 am ET

Don't forget that he paid 20 million dollars in a civil child abuse suit. Who does that without suspicion. He is and was a child molester. Do not mourn him. Be happy he is dead so he cannot molest another child.

Chip   June 26th, 2009 6:40 am ET

Rather than cancelling the O2 concerts they should do tribute concerts with supporting acts to pay homage to a true legend.

Als   June 26th, 2009 6:42 am ET

CNN need to respect the dead. God will judge each and everyone of us in our passing. He who is with out sin cast the first stone. Michael Jackson music is his leagacy to the world. He also has three children that the media need to be mind full of. The pictures of him being with the oxygen mask on in the ambulance plastered all over the magazines is horrible. Farahs Pictures was not out like that so let Michael have some respect in death. All of us are headed that way so have some respect and treat people the way you would want to be treated. World Iconic Legend Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett Actress, RIP.

Abubakar   June 26th, 2009 6:57 am ET

As the world mourns the lose of a great entertainer, I wonder why all the major news stations skirt around one of Michael's greatest acts, conversion to Islam. His choice in his change of faith is of great consequence but was drowned in the media when he was alive. Please let not only his music and charity (and some alleged negatives) be his only legacy.

Cheryl   June 26th, 2009 7:28 am ET

What I don't understand is if his doctor was there the night before why didn't he make Miichael go to the hospital. The other thing I don't understand is if the was wth Michael, why are they doing an autposy? I was umder the impression that if a doctor was there that he could sign the death certificate and of course he would put down cardiac arrest. I find this very strange and I feel that there are a lot of questions. If the doctor was his personal doctor there should be no need for an autopsy.
I have listened to Michael's songs and he was a fantastic man and in no way was he a child molester. The news media should leave that issue alone because Michael's children don't need to hear about it as they are growing up. They are going to go through enough with the not having their father with them. The bottom line is that the media should talk about what a wonderful man and father is and what a fantastic entertainer he was and the wonderful songs he wrote and sang for the people aroumd the world. Let him rest in peace.

william   June 26th, 2009 7:52 am ET

God, please, revive michael now

linda Plasket   June 26th, 2009 8:36 am ET

I am sitting here reading some of the comments about Michael Jackson.. Some are calling MJ "the molester". How rude and disrespectful. This man was an icon and was brilliant as a musician and entertainer. My comment for these people is: as a parent, no amount of money would make me stop molestation charges against a man accused of them. These accusers sold out their children for millions of dollars...what does that say about them? Rest in peace Michael you now have it.

JALAL (Saudi Arabia)   June 26th, 2009 8:54 am ET

In the upcoming lines I’d like to thank Michael Jacksn for many things which will never be forgotten. Been a shining rainbow for poor children could be one of these unforgetten gifts which Michael presented to the world. Another gift which Michael presented to us was the love of music. He succeded in gathering people all over the world. He was as a peace dove which never cared about race, skin color, or language. He made music as love wrap (joint).
Unfortunatly, this rainbow has vanished by the days because the people around him. They filled his brightness with lies and fales accusations using his love for children. it was as an infinit fog. They had broke the dove’s wings and left it to die.
For us as fans, he’s like the North Star which guide us to heaven of music. His soul will remain in everybody’s heart. He’ll be so only 4 those who never pay attention to his body details. only 4 thoes who love him for his music.

God Bless Your Soul Michael

R I P

Marie Miner   June 26th, 2009 9:10 am ET

Michael Jackson was an extremely talented and loving man. It's horrible that the media is still hurting him after his death in spite of his acquittal. You never here anything negative reported about other races when they pass away. When David (Kun fu) died, you never gave the dirty bazzar details on the air in respect for his loved ones, family, and his reputation. Why can't the media let the negative go and let those of us who love him and believed in him morn in peace?

arthur   June 26th, 2009 9:14 am ET

It didn’t matter if you were black then white, you rock my world. You were the first to teach me my 123's and abc ’s. Without your constant music making and flashy dancing, the world of pop music would have never had a king. You were a smooth criminal the way you slid out of your trials, you beat it! The way you make me feel when I saw the newest addition to your face or former black skin. You are not alone, all of your fans will make your memory last forever. The way you moon walked and grabbed yourself with a sparkly glove was a thriller. You had the, don’t stop ‘til you get enough approach to conquering the pop world. Although you hung your kid from a balcony and had some close calls with other people’s kids, you are bad. I just can’t stop loving you!
-R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Ruskin UNG   June 26th, 2009 9:30 am ET

Wow, wat can i say. He was excellent and his performances were out of this world. He was ahead of his time and he still lives on in our hearts and the pages of histroy even to tomorrow. The spirit of excellence in him made him the EXCELLENCY of music. The shoe he left behind cant be filled. Another void is created in the timeline of history just like King Solomon but he was the King of Pop.
Goodbye.

As I watched the news last night unfold, I was tremendously saddened. To know that we have lost such an amazing talented human being, at such a young age breaks my heart.

How many people will we have to lose in such a tragic manner before something is done? I believe, and only time will truly tell, that he suffered from addiction and the enablers around him should all be held accountable. It is disgusting that he had no one by his side who truly cared about his life.

Elvis, Monroe, Anna Nicole and so many many others who have died prematurely at the hands of doctors and pharmacists and sycophants.

Something must change.
