Evening Buzz: Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and World Refugee Day

Cate Vojdik
AC360º Writer

Tonight on 360º, you’ll hear Angelina Jolie bring to life the plight of 42 million people whose individual stories of terror–and survivorship–are often untold. In an interview months in the making, she talks to Anderson about some of the men, women and children she’s met as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She has a deep passion for the work that takes her far from Hollywood and her own family. Just today, the U.N. announced that Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt, have donated $1 million to help Pakistani refugees. Tonight, hear why Jolie is especially concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Pakistan.

Plus, we’ll have the latest from Iran, where tens of thousands of protesters marched in the streets for a sixth day. Iran’s government is still doing its best to silence reporters and control the airwaves. We’ll bring you all the images and information we can, including i-reports and amateur video from Facebook and YouTube.

Also tonight, we continue our weeklong series “America’s High: The Case for and Against Pot.” You may not realize it, but marijuana turns out to be a growth industry in this recession. The collapse of the housing market has turned cheap property into pot houses—and they may be operating on your street.

And we’re learning more about the death of a Continental pilot during a cross-Atlantic flight today. The 60-year-old captain with more than three decades of flying experience apparently died from natural causes. The jet landed safely with the first officer at the controls. Only then, did passengers learned what had happened. Randi Kaye has been working the story and will have details at 10 p.m. eastern.

 See you then..

Good for Jolie and Pitt bringing this subject up it is important.
On the other hand the Pilot story in my opinion should never have been aired and especially should the passengers have been advised...answer certainly not. The FAA regulations clearly cover this and airlines have manuals to allow co pilots to deal with this, who have exactly the same training, and the pilot and the co pilot clearly landed in bad weather. Please also do not forget most planes and major Hub airports have ALS.
Did you consider the unnecessary panic such an announcement could create!?
    Regards,
    Hodgson.

Hooray for Jolie, I wonder how much money she would make if she took her film career to Pakistan? What has she done for AMERICAN kids, which is where her wealth comes from? This interview really shows how detached she is from OUR society.

I think it's nice that Brad and Angelina are helping other countries...
..But what about our country? UNEMPLOYMENT IS THE HIGHEST IN 25 YRS ,ESPECIALLY IN NEW YORK! There are many people losing homes and no jobs are available. MANY WITH HUNGRY KIDS.
New York is dying. Stores are closing by the dozens!
When will someone help their own neighbors. We need it!
    Thanks Anderson, love the show!

Would love to see Physical Education to stay in schools but how is it going to compete if kids are to hooked to electronic games

Professional sports athletes are not really setting a good example to young people nowadays

I enjoyed the interview Anderson Cooper had with Angelina Jolie. Very informative and at the same time very sad to know that people go through so much pain, especially children, it's unthinkable.

Thank you Angelina for mentioning the stories of those children who stive daily to stay alive. Very unfortunate and it saddens me very much. You know, it could've easily been the other way around. It could've been our kids or us living such trumoil and suffering lives. I am very inspired and am willing to offer as much as help as I can to aid all these unfortunate people. I know it may not be much, but I hope it helps at least some of those unfortunate people. I couldn't have asked for a better ambassador then Angelina Jolie. Thank You Angie!

Angelina seems really beautiful inside and out, but I still have a crush on Erica Hill. What a beauty! Her smile is half the reason I watch the show...And she is good. Give her more substance.
