Is Reverend Wright's Trinity United Church listed on the map? How a man of the cloth can continually dispense bigoted views is beyond the pale.

How Barack and Michelle Obama could stomach him for twenty years is almost as bad.

Estimates reported on CNN say that hate groups nationwide have 100,000 to 200,000 members. Of that it's estimated that 1-2% are inclined to do more than just talk; so that's 1,000-2,000 people nationwide prone to violence. As there are at least that many gang members in a major city like LA, also prone to violence, it would seem that the hype is getting a bit much. Murder is murder whether it's based on 'hate' or just to steal someone's wallet. You are just as dead.

@Flex, why are you focusing in on the Catholic Church's position on gay marriage and calling it hate? It is a position shared by the majority of Americans, including as Prop 8 showed, the majority of people in yoour own state. Could it be that you are just hateful of Catholics?

You've never heard of anyone chanting "Go Back to Europe" or "Go Home Gringo"? Or Nation of Aztlan? Or Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez, who said, "We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him."

Assuming that their views are representative of Hispanics is no worse than assuming Von Brunn's ideas are representative of Whites.

BTW, everyone, the word "hate" as used in the present context is idiotic. We all hate. It's the flip side of love. There are things that I genuinely hate, and the righteous among you would probably call me a "hater" for hating them.

Mr Cooper I had a question. Since I was born in the USA and I believe
you are too. You went to high school and you saw the blacks were always at the back of the class. Either they were not paid attention like the others. What my point is, when you request one thing from a white person, may be in your office or on the street then you request the same thing from a black person. You treat each one differently like
same way in classroom.e.g. blacks are stupied. Is that not hate? Even they both completed there jobs but are treated differently.Police is a good example of hate in USA against black. I am not black but I think we have to look within us. Black and white is the biggest hate group in the USA. You don't have to go far to find that group its everywhere.I don't believe in hate. I am an AA women, who witnessed first hand more Hate, from my own race during this Presidential run,then I have ever witnessed from Whites. So this racism is from all races against all races,and sometimes against their own race.

I want to comment on a post submitted on 6/11/2009 from Sara, in MN. Sara, I guess is a teacher, who stated that she has students who participate in hate crimes, but it is was basically not their fault in how they feel cause they were taught to hate and that they are good kids deep down. I agree with her, that hate is taught. However, where I lost the “our connection” is when she said, her students are good kids deep down. Is there such as thing as a good “skin head”? I do appreciate that she is trying… good luck to you Sara.

I am shocked by the entire affair. Wolf Blitzer's personal brewmaster taking a shotgun to the Holocaust Museum instead of making home-brew and chilling back at the place. I am also shocked by Langhart Cohen comparing Emmitt Till and JIm Crow, Southern
Segregation to the extermination of the Jews at the hands of the brutal monster Adolf Hitler. This is an outrage and every Jew in this country and I have Jewish Ancestry should be offended by the bogus comparison. Also the politics from the Left of the Crazy White Dude
and the politics from the Right of Hitler With An Afro needs to stop.
I remember seeing comparisons of Pat Robertson to Slobadan
Milosovic, Hitler With an Afro Saddam Hussein and other assorted
nonsense coming from everwhere. "Stop The Madness" please.

I hate to admit it but the only way to deal with these groups is by exterminating each one of those “inbred, vile pieces of waste”. Decent people of all ethnic groups are very weary of the cowards in these organizations. I hope to encounter one of these pathetic pieces of” Excramate” on the street. II read an article and saw the map earlier today. I was able to click on the state I live in & the groups popped up. Below was a list of their names and a second name, which I guess is the meaning of the first. Anyway, I was very disappointed my city was listed.

So shocked to learn the hate thing in the "Deam country" . America has been and is still home of immigrants beginning the exodus of European-Whites then African-Americans, Latinos,Asians...etc. Who hates Who? Why? Since when? I am a little bit confused. In this land of the Red Indians everyone is equal. America is a birth place of equality;expressed to every human from every corner of the world. People are still coming to America escaping hate of every kind in
their oun land. I didn`t know about this hate thing and i consider the election of Obama as a win win against racism. Racism has to be abjured to live peacefully in this land of equality. Good job Anderson.

The entire map should be covered for everyone has hate in them. As far as groups, should we not list the political parties for there hate for the other parties. Hate is an emotion that everyone suffers from so how can we arbitrarily point to certain people or groups and label them as hate groups when we ourselves hate the groups that we are labeling. Its the old pot calling the kettle black. Don't you hate yourself for thinking about that?

Though, yes, hate groups are lame and need to go away, the constitution protects their right of free speech and their right to their opinion, even if their opinion is hating something or someone. I hate disco music and find ABBA especially nauseating. Though I don't go out bashing disco fans with physical violence, I am still entitled to my opinion and will openly and publicly ridicule disco if someone asks my opinion.

Ultimately, this map is pointless and just as lame as the hate groups that it targets. First of all, what is "general hate"? IF you want to include general hate, then go ahead and paint the whole country with little green thumb tacks. Secondly, why does the media continue to sensationalize racism and the existance of hate groups? This is not news. This type of "news" is the continuation of fear tactics to control popular opinion, which seems to create more problems than it resolves. Third and final position, this map is incomplete and inaccurate. It only targets the "black and white" of the real situation, which [the real situation] is far worse than your map admits.

How about a map indicating every location of every store that sells merchandise that was created through SLAVERY? Every city and every mall in this country. You just need one giant green thumb tack that is the shape of America.

If you want to do something about the worlds problems, you aren't going to do it with fear, green thumbtacks, and little black and red boot icons. Instead of wasting your ad revenue on this garbage, why not spend it on actually educating people and providing real news?

It's a little frightening. I had no idea that there were so many active hate groups in my area. I live right across the river from St. Louis, MO and I see many different symbols there. I do think it's sad that there is so much hate. We can't just "get rid of all hate groups" though. That's just as bad.

And to Dustin, no whites are not the only people involved in hate groups.
