Did Sarah Palin crib from Newt Gingrich?

Did Sarah Palin steal Newt Gingrich‘s words? Or did she just hire a really lazy speechwriter?

In her recent speech about Ronald Reagan, Alaska Gov. Palin has been accused of blatantly copying from an article co-written by Gingrich.

Blogger Geoffrey Dunn, a Reagan expert and author, made the accusation of the Huffington Post.

Dunn carefully compared Palin's recent speech introducing former Reagan’s son Michael Reagan to a piece about Reagan’s legacy, written by Gingrich and Craig Shirley in 2005.

Palin: "We have to remember first that Ronald Reagan never won any arguments in Washington. He won the arguments by resonating with the American people.'

Gingrich/Shirley: "Reagan never won an argument in Washington. Reagan won his arguments in the country with the American people."

Probably both. The woman is worthless.

Sarah, simply put isn't charismatic like Ronnie, and certainly not an actor like Ronnie, who by the way was a mediocre president! It was under his,or nap/sleepy-time that set our country on it's downward spiral. He didn't help the common folks, but pacified them with empty rhetoric. Palin is a polarizing figure like Hillary was, need I say more, and if she can get a female speech writer to march to her tune, and pen her black-magic,she got a fair chance at being re-elected to her old position as Mayor of Moose County,USA! Go President Obama!

Newt not only said it first, he said it better. One of the "paraphrases" of Sarah's doesn't even make any sense. I had to read the sentence 4 times to make any sense out of it. So she mangles the sentence, the speech, the view of the GOP through her ignorance, John McCain's campaign – lets not give her the chance to mangle the country.

Oh please! Does this really matter? Sarah Palin lost the bid for vice-president, remember? You left just can't leave her alone. You are costing her millions in lawyer fees to fight the bullcrap you guys are saying against her. Does this make you feel better picking on her?

President Obama is trying to act like former presidents. He compares himself to Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan to name a few. Do you think they would ever say that people in the military should pay their own insurance? If they get shot in the line of duty, do think their own insurance should cover them? At least we know how much this President thinks about the miltary people, or should I say how little!

Not surprised.

terry   June 8th, 2009 5:57 pm ET

i hate her

John Jackson   June 8th, 2009 7:26 pm ET

You only need to watch the video to see the charge is untrue, so it's hard to escape the conclusion that you WISH Palin were caught being dishonest.

As for the inelegant paraphrasing (attributed!) that's the difference between writing and giving a talk.

I've heard conservatives say that Anderson Cooper is different, more fair in his coverage of both sides. Then why does he tweet (days late) about a discredited Huffington Post article?

Mrs. Palin should not and hopefully will not dignify this charge with a denial. IT should be enough the video is online. She made it clear she was referring to Newt's article...otherwise no one would have even noticed.

And isn't 'original ' thought usually a sign of insanity? Of course we repeat best arguments. Leave 'originality' to Nobel Prize winners.

You have got to be kidding me! With all that is going on in the world, we care if Sarah Palin plaguerized Newt Gingrich? Leave the dumbing down of the American Public to other networks. Instead, be innovative and speak to the intelligent amongst us.

debinaz   June 8th, 2009 9:20 pm ET

this woman does not need to use newts words.....alaska is the only state that i know that is giving back to the citizens of alaska....the rest of the country needs to get the message.... i dont know why the leftys in the media are so afraid of sarah palin......maybe its because she is a real person and not like the idiots that reside in white house and his cabinet and the congress......maybe because she pays her taxes.....regardless she is for real and you folks put your confidence in those fakes in washington as they spend every dime that needs to come in for the next 20 years and then some....people really need to wake up and smell the roses

AC,
It is an unspoken national scam that Sarah Palin is still being allowed to peddle herself around as a 'pro choice' person.

This lady knew she was carrying a child with abnormalities. She as governor and public person could not have had an abortion without a public outcry.

Her next series of actions were nothing short of criminality. No one is publicly condemning her for attempted murder of her then unborn child.

She knew she was in labor and still went ahead to take a 8-12 hour flight . What was the intention? She wanted to have a still birth as she could not have an abortion.

Which US Board-certified doctor would have authorized that journey?
She fooled 300 million Americans and no one is reviewing that poor judgement and seemingly criminal intent.

Which non-public person could have gotten away with such murderous intent.

You AC, Nancy Grace, Wolf and others have failed to analyze that incident and render your duty to your viewers as you are known to do very professionally.

Please raise this issue NOW.
Thanks.
Cara.

Sarah Palin is an awesome example of a women. I am a conservative so of course I like Sarah. I also have always admired Hillary Clinton. I never liked her politics, but I admire her. Conservatives never attack Hillary for being a women. It is amazing to see how liberals have to attack Sarah on being a women. I thought liberals were suppose to be understanding for individuals differences? That is not what we see in reading the blogs above. Anderson, you are included in the liberal tag.

The comments on Governor Palin are obscene....like we need to be proud we have Biden as a vice-president....and we elected a defacto Muslim President.
