I don't know where the story is here, but you can't win a 'war' on drugs when it shouldn't be a 'war' to begin with. The majority of people involved in the drug business are the addicts. Get them off of drugs and there won't be a need for a 'war'. This has always seemed like a no brainer to me. Problem is, you can't convince our government that spending on drug rehab is cheaper than prison time and all of the law enforcement and special task forces out there.

Prohibition====> Didnt Work
War on Drugs=====> Won't work....
Might as well legalize the use of various drugs, so that the government can regulate and tax it and bring more revenue into the country. Only problem with that, Congress is worrying about the drug cartels actually having political power because they have the money to do it, but not the representation to do it. Thats why it wont be legalized and will still remain an unwinnable war where we are outgunned, outmanned, and under financed compared to the sheer amount the cartels bring in as far as manpower, guns, and money,

the war on drugs is a failure. J.M. is right though, the gov't is never going to stop the individual from doing drugs, so they might as well make it as safe as possible, like abortion. could you imagine the revenue if they just legalized marijuana? i don't know for a fact, but i've heard that marijuana is the number one most abused illegal drug, so if you legalize that, perhaps the use of more lethal drugs would decrease, but we all know that solutions like that are naive and improbable.

We will always have weak people Anderson. It take people like the Hero's that CNN had on and people like you and me Anderson, That are strong people. Everybody is not ment to be a leader and it's usually follower that use drugs. So that is what make it so hard to win.
