Tonight on AC360°, Friday fraudsters! Hard times are boom times for scammers who want to steal your money. The recession has only made them more creative. Tonight Joe Johns shows you the ploys these crooks are using – and how you can protect yourself. You may have received some of these calls and emails. They seem to be everywhere these days. We want to keep the live blog on this one topic. So, please share your thoughts on recession scams below.

Hey ALL! Glad to be back. Hey Anderson, Erica, David G., Twitter/Facebook buddies, and the rest of the best bloggers in the world.

POTUS looked great last night on Leno.

Good evening Anderson, et al & fellow bloggers! TGIF

Looking forward to great show!

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

Hey, everyone: Anderson, Randi, David Gergen, all at AC360, the Tribe, and all the bloggers! Happy first day of Spring!

Cindy   March 20th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

Obama needs to be in DC figuring out who told Dodd to add the loophole for the bonuses and stop playing around all over the place.

Cindy..Ga.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

President Obama CAN do mote than one, two, three, four, five, six things at once – or in the same day. Ask any mom with three kids under 10! It's not easy, and they all do it anyway. We ne3ed to give him some space.

Cessy, Chicago   March 20th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

good evening! Anderson and the AC360 crew! glad to see you all made it back to NY safely...looks like another busy and interesting night.

Laura W   March 20th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

I think that if a person is to die at 45 then that's when he/she is going to die. Nothing could have saved her life. It was already written.

Chris Sosa - Boston, MA   March 20th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

Good evening, Anderson, Randi, David G, and bloggers! Hope everyone has had an excellent Friday.

Watching Chris Dodd on here is making me a little sick.

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Good evening, Anderson (welcome home! though I thought you were supposed to be in Miami today?), Randi and my fellow evening conversationalists! Happy Friday! (Thank God its Friday!)

Admittedly, I'm getting tired of hearing about the AIG bonuses! There are many more important things that we could be talking about!

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   March 20th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Hellooo Anderson, Randi and Everyone!!!
Welcome back Anderson!

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   March 20th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

If Obama is not overexposed then no one is!

KELLY ANN, north jersey   March 20th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

oh yeah.... look my cousin has downs syndrome... and I forgive Obama was his "word vomit' by accident. he is human!!! jeeez

sharon   March 20th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Evening Anderson. Outrage isn't following Obama from coast to coast. Didn't you notice that during his two town halls not one single person questioned him about the bonuses? It's a made in Washington mash up and the media is creating a furor that isn't there.

That's not to say that people aren't upset about them but they have more important things to be worried about in their own lives.

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Hi all. I do not understand this tactical phrase "overexposed". What do theorists say is the disadvantage to being "overexposed"?

vanessa from silver spring, MD   March 20th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

I'm glad that POTUS is out there talking to the people. I'm glad that he is trying to do big things. I in no way think that POTUS meant anything from that comment last night.

Nattada, Houston TX   March 20th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

Good evening Anderson, Randi, AC 360 Team, Panel members, and all bloggers.

Welcome back home Anderson.

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

I find Obama's gaffe less offensive than Palin turning down Stimulus money.

Ken in NC   March 20th, 2009 10:04 pm ET

@ Cindy.
President Obama already knew that the Treasury was going to ask Dodd to add that language to the bill. Tim G. would not that of his own accord.

vanessa from silver spring, MD   March 20th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

@Rikki- I agree. The discussion on these AIG bonuses are taking up precious time that we should use to focus on the big picture, the economy.

Steve   March 20th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Anderson how misleading.

Ms Richardson's death shocked us all. However the implication that something could have been done sooner is really a disservice to everyone.
MS Richardson refused medical help. I'm sure that Canadian Medical folks don;t force treatment on someone who does not want it just like here.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Webcam is fascinating!

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Wow! Good news from Ali Velshi...I'd forgotten what that was like! :) Definitely encouraging numbers tonight!

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

I'm not sick of hearing about AIG yet. It's a very complex company and what they have done is complex. therefore if you want the American people to understand it, it needs a lot of explanation.

Plus, what they did affected the whole world in a very negative way. Things don't get much more important than that.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Early in this crisis – a month ago – they were saying it will be a year untilo thing get bettr at all. Ali jus delivred a bit of good news – mixed but good. 60 days? Not bad.

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Obama working around the middlemen in Iran. That's something isn't it?

Minou, New York City   March 20th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

I love it that Pres Obama is reaching out to Iran. It's about time.

Louise W.   March 20th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

WIll someone please answer me this. If the legislation imposing a 90% tax on those bonus payouts actually gets passed, what happens to people who received bonuses who do not reside in the U.S.? How are they taxed, or do they get taxed at all?

Marlene   March 20th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

TWO good weeks in a row... uh-oh, what's next, recovery? Baby steps... baby steps... ;)

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   March 20th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

The A.IG bonuses are crazy they should be taxed 90% of thier earnigns and given it all back to taxpayers they stole from.

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   March 20th, 2009 10:08 pm ET

Hello Everyone! Anderson, I like the "Road To Rescue."

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   March 20th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

Wow! Good news from Ali Velshi…I’d forgotten what that was like! Definitely encouraging numbers tonight!

Rikki!
Yup! he does sound right! I agree!

Paolo   March 20th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

Hi Everyone,

There is a saying that one is only as good as his last act. Obama's appearance on the Tonight Show was almost superb except for the last line on the Special Olympics. Whether he intended the remarks or not, he should have been more sensitive.

Laura W   March 20th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

I think people are sick of hearing about AIG because we've talked the economy to death already. Something should have been in place to stop the bonuses. Now we can't really do anything about it and are starting to tire of hearing the phony outrage from everyone.

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

I'm glad that Obama is attempting to talk to Iran (especially in a respectful manner), and I'm glad that Mideast peace hasn't been swallowed by the economic issues here.

Maria   March 20th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

I think if president Obama revive the relation with Iran, he will knock three birds with one stone: control Iran program, control Iran-Israel tension and stabilize Iraq

Lauren--NY   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Welcome home, Anderson. Always great to see you made it back safely.

I just want to say that while I miss Erica Hill terribly, Randi Kaye has done an excellent job filling in and deserves major kudos!

Ron   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

What are all 650,000 jobless going to do when their unemployment runs out? Maybe thats why the claims are down 12,000 this week because their unemployment ran out!

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

I'm so sick of the media and political correctness that President Obama is under fire for mispeaking words. He was putting himself down not the disabled community .

Ken in NC   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Anderson, many people are angry about all that is happening but does anyone realize that President Obama is taking so much heat from different sources in business, Wall Street and Democrats and Republicans because he is opening up the operations of our government for regular Americans to see much of how things are being done. Those sources do not want us to see these things that have been hidden for many years because it will limit their ability to do the crooked things they have been doing for years and years.

Miranda H.B. CA   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Anderson I liked it when you were on the road...I will miss it ...the interactions live...the energy in the air...getting things done with people...back into the bubble you go sir.... kinda like a hamster in a ball....though an adorable furry hamster not like a not cute looking hamster you know.

Miranda

KELLY ANN, north jersey   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

wahooo anderson ur gonna check in!!! =D. my cousin also goes to a special school and stuff. I know that Obama did not mean that. fruits, veggies make me wanna say boo also! haha ;]

Beth - London, England   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Evening All,
First time i've managed to join the blog! The time saving has helped out..

All this AIG stuff intrigues me, i'm studying US politics and economics at the moment, so this show is packed with things to help over the other side of the pond!

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

I can't actually associated the term "principled stand" with Sarah Palin. I could be wrong (not).

Karen C   March 20th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

I *am* sick of hearing about the bonuses (and really, a bit concerned about the rumors of violence toward those execs. I hate the whole thing too, but lets not turn into the vampire villagers here or we will be in real danger of losing our nation). What continues to amaze me is how many "free market" types I know are so up in arms when...well....you'd think they would be championing the business acumen these guys apparently have. Irony at it's best.

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Anderson, how can you possibly dislike vegetables? What about green beans? I love a good green bean. How about salad? Salad is wonderful.

Anthonia-California   March 20th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Heey YALL! happyyy friday everyone :]

Im super excited that michelle obama is growning a vegatable garden on the white house lawn.

Chris Sosa - Boston, MA   March 20th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

I found Obama's "performance" on Leno to have been quite good, aside from the fact that his gaffe pretty much sunk the interview. Looking forward to the analysis of the interview.

@Anderson – Do you not recall what happened on here last time you started a vegetable war?

KELLY ANN, north jersey   March 20th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

AIG is simply disconnected from the American people

Zoee - Canada   March 20th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

So Anderson, now it's not just green vegetables that you aren't a fan of, it's all of them? haha

Karen C   March 20th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

P.S. the only good getting 165 million back would do if it was collected and added to the stimulus (IMO). It's fine to express rage, I certainly have, but what good is it *really* going to do now to focus on that?

Jim M   March 20th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

I believe that Joe Johns is reading too much into HR 1586 the bill taxing "certain" bonuses. It does not directly affect contract law. A reading of the Bill's summary on the House of Representative's web simply adds the "special bonus tax" to the tax year in which it is received and reported.

Also, this bill is applicable to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac employees receiving bonuses.

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   March 20th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

Anderson I want to express my sadness over the passing of your friend Natasha Richardson .

Tess   March 20th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

I haven't heard a lot about the government possibly taxing the retention bonuses at AIG. Would this be a viable recourse to tax these bonuses at a higher percentage?

Cindy   March 20th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Arnold is going to say or do anything to get any amount of money since Cali is going under fast.

Cindy..Ga.

Cherry B - Ms   March 20th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

It's become very puzzling to me as to who really was aware of the bonus mess and who was not. This is the same problem we've had forever and, I believe , the last thing Obama really wants. It's going to take alot more than a couple of months to discontinue bad practices and start contructive new ones.

Too many problems and too many new people in the administration to get it right yet. All we can do is watch carefully and let them know how we feel.

Maria   March 20th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Palin are playing politics

Palin...she is only a facade...bla...bla...bla...nothing with her is really a substance....

Augustine - Savannah, GA   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Hello Anderson,
I just wonder why it is only this poor joke about the special olympics that everyone is focused on despite all other information the president gave about his economic plans.
Besides, how could the president have stopped these bonuses already in contract without changing the laws, which apparently has not been changed till now.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

I love the idea of a working vegetable garden at the White House, Anderson's 60 Minutes collegue Leslie Stahl interviewed legendary fresh vegetable cook Alice Waters last week and she hoped they'd do that. Good for Michelle Obama! Good for everyone eating at the W.H. and inspriational for the rest of us. (except those person who will remain unnamed who don't like green veggies.)

Michelle in L.A   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Happy Friday Night All!

President Obama was great on Jay Leno.

WIth Sarah Palin it is ALWAYS A Political Move. Despise that woman.

Michelle Obama is doing a great thing with the planting a vegetable, fruit garden. I need to find one close to me and learn how to grow food.

Brenda   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

This whole AIG thing is out of hand. My sister is getting harrassed because her husband works for AIG. He didn't write the contracts and neither did she!
The media forget to mention this week, not every AIG employee is getting a bonus and not every AIG employee is a disgrace!

kim-chicago   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Please no more Sarah Palin...some people are so predictable...

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

@Chris...I was just thinking that! What green vegetables will take a hit tonight?...though I'm not a fan of many veggies either!...I'm a big fruit person though!

anderson cooper   March 20th, 2009 10:15 pm ET

evening everyone.. nice to be back in ny

Tonya   March 20th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

If the bonues were part of a contract, then the Treasury Secretary's caution was right and it's time to move on so this does not happen again. We never know how we will reap what we've sown.

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Sarah Palin makes my arthritis flare up, everything she does irritates me. I can't believe that she turned down money to help people due to "strings". Yeesh.

kim-chicago   March 20th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Any governor who turns down help in these hard times is playing politics...

Lauren--NY   March 20th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

So Sarah Palin is the only person who is actually connected to the special needs community who chose to take a shot at President Obama's harmless joke...yet she turns down stimulus money for special education. The mind, she truly boggles.

Andrea, TN   March 20th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

I love the whole White House garden thing. Pure WWII era stuff, there.

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   March 20th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

The vegtable garden is a great idea to get the message of eating right and nutirious foods into our bellies not the fast food we have eaten before . Hey Anderson ever heard of a green vegatable called fiddle heads ? like a brussels sprouts.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

If my governor turned down stimulus funds for some of the things Sarah Palin has decided in her "wisdom" to ignore, he'd be facing recall, not re-election!

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   March 20th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Anderson,
You were so great job on the road, "Road to Rescue" That was so awesome trip!

anderson cooper   March 20th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

i dont hate all vegetables.. i like corn and peas and green beans. if forced i will eat cauliflower, and salad as long as it has lots of sweet things like cranberries in it..

Michelle   March 20th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Why does 360 keep ignoring that the Fed is handling
the Tarp money and not Treasury. Please put things in
perspective.

Hi Everyone.. Happy Friday!! glad you're with us.
We have dubbed tonight "Fraudster Friday" since we have a great story by Joe Johns about how more and more fraudsters are popping up in this tough economy to try and rip innocent people off. Maybe, like some of our staffers, you've received a "check" in the mail that says you can only cash it after you send a check to someone or maybe pay some taxes. yea right! Or maybe someone posing as the IRS sent you a letter saying you owe more taxes and to send them a check. Our staff has received a whole bunch of frauder attempts. Have you? Let us know what makes you suspicious these days... join our "Fraudster Friday" discussion.
Thanks!!

Juan Siaba   March 20th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Anderson, where is your pictrure? Can Jack help you get it back?

JanJCH   March 20th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Hey Silver FOX....um, Gov Palin was touting about with her feather in her hair, talking about how Alaska was in a surplus so why is she even taking the stimulus money?

Would someone PLEASE ask this question directly to Gov Palin?

She seems to be a friend of the camera now that she is not campaining.

Peace out!!!!

Daniel Rose   March 20th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

President Obama

Is doing a great job remember he has took on a lot!!!!!

But he will show all those people that wont him to fail he will make it.

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

I really can't stand Sarah Palin and I can't believe that I'm about to defend her but coming from a state where we have a budget surplus I can't really comment on her position on the stimulus funds. We aren't really hurting here either so if Alaska doesn't need the stimulus money why should they take it?

Elaine, Des Moines, IA   March 20th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Good evening everyone! Anderson welcome back, you did a great job on Road to Recovery. If you plan another road trip stop by Iowa we'd love to have you :)

I'm tired of hearing bad news period.

Sam M., Hawaii   March 20th, 2009 10:19 pm ET

Hello,Hello Anderson and everyone. Concerning Gov. Palin not taking some stim money I recently read a few articles about the native indians in Alaska that have been forgotten and live in the worst poverty ever. No mention of them ever. Gool ole Sarah ought to take a trip to that part of the state and maybe she would have a heart.

Tim   March 20th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

LOL, Anderson, how did I know your avatar would be gone when you got home? The second somebody else logged into your computer I knew it was all over. :P

Randi, to answer the primary blog question, I haven’t gotten any phone calls or e-mails from these scammers, but my spam filters are pretty good–my advice is to use Gmail or if you have your own website, use that host. I do both and I generally can avoid most of these things–the Gmail spam filter is also very good at weeding out the very sneaky and professional-looking Paypal scam e-mails.

I am tired. Tired of the fake outrage. Tired of the shouting and blaming everyone. Tired of all the name calling and ugly words. We as American is just TIRED.

How could anyone say they LOVE that he is reaching out to Iran? Remember we are the great Satin – they want to destroy us and are quickly working to accomplish just that. Maybe if you would have said you love that he is reaching out to the peace loving Iranian people I might agree.

Chris Sosa - Boston, MA   March 20th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

@Randi – I actually receive a TON of fraudulent emails. I've lost count of the billions of dollars I've inherited from recently deceased relatives that I've never heard of. Interestingly enough, for all the information they have on me and my "relatives," the currency is never American and they can't properly format an email.

I don't feel President Obama's faux pas was in anyway meant to be offensive, sometimes thoughts escape us that can be picked apart. The overall knowledge of President Obama know he meant no offense.

Govenor Palin's in the news again...she can't escape the occassional debate, she's got America's attention now that she's unforgettable.

Great to see you home Anderson, it's always great to see you mixing with your 's and CNN fans and giving them a voice.

My husband works 15 hrs a day on wall st. Misses countless family events and should not have his salary(bonus)taken away from him. He earns every penny of it.

Nattada, Houston TX   March 20th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

I think I admire the President for his wills and determinations. He will make some mistake along the way, who won’t. The one who is not making any mistake is the one who is not doing anything at all. So why not give him some space and let him work as best he can.

Jole, SD   March 20th, 2009 10:22 pm ET

@Anderson Cooper: "I like corn and peas."

Details at 11!

I'm with you though– cranberries are king. And dried pineapple and mango are to die for!

Steve - southern Illinois   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

My sister said she got an e-mail yesterday telling her to stay out of wal-mart because there were going to be "gang initiation hits" on females. I don't know if that's a scam but it sucks.

vanessa from silver spring, MD   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

@Michelle- I love Broccolli, and I love Blueberries in pancakes.mmm

Jessica   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

I like that Pres. Obama is out making appearances and interacting with the American people. He's living up to his promise of a" transparent" government. It shows that he is still a somewhat normal human being. Isn't that what the American people wanted?

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Anderson...the only other veggie I would eat in addition to those on your list is carrots...I don't do salad...and I certainly would not destroy cranberries by putting them in a salad! :)

Michelle in L.A   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Fraudster Friday – good topic of discussion.

Part of me believes All fraud is motivated by Greed, the one planning the fraud, and the one particpating. We really need to end the thinking that we can get something for free; it is simply and untruth. Even Madoff's "victims" thought they could get huge unbelievable returns despite the fact the market was paying no where close. Greed...

Sam M., Hawaii   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

At least, in this recession, fraudsters are being more analyzed and fraud situations are becoming more apparent. When they start building up the economic foundation, I hope they do a good job in identifying and preventing fraud.

Ken in NC   March 20th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

The American people are willing to give President Obama time to work on the economy but people are beginning to tire quickly of the Congress screwing up everything they touch.

Anthonia-California   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

I think the joke that President Obama made about the "special olympics" was a big mistake for him...idk, i think he should next time think before he makes a joke that was suppose to be funny..

Bridget, TX   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

President Obama is correct, he does need time. We have enough sense to realize that it took more than 8 yrs and an institutional philosophy to get us to this place.

Carol ,SD   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Welcome back Anderson! I always enjoy watching your show.

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Anderson, I'm not having this argument about vegetables again ;)

Dulcie - Denver   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Good evening everyone!

I'm tired of the whole AIG thing, but I was happy to see that there will be a vegetable garden at the White House again. I'm getting ready to put in my little garden this weekend.

I like brocolli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts (I know, I know)

Patrick S.   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

You failed to mention that Governor Sarah Palin's state, Alaska, is not running in a deficit. Hmmmm wonder how that happened?

Isabel   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

President Obama was extremely unhappy in their placement,
yesterday.

KELLY ANN, north jersey   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

I love peas! and spinage is not bad. it does not taste like anything. so i do not know why people despise it so much.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

Does anyone have a memory? Can anyone point to a single appearnce by George Bush in which he was funny .. on purpose???:

Michelle D . Fonthill. Ont   March 20th, 2009 10:24 pm ET

The Obama 's really define family .The put thier family first and Michelle is the kind of mother that their for the sake of the kids .

Michelle   March 20th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

It's simple President Obama does not underestimate the
intelligence of the American public. The media does.
I thought you guys wanted transparency and that is what
he is doing.

vanessa from silver spring, MD   March 20th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

I don't think that POTUS is overexposed. i love seeing him all the time. It reassures me to see him.

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

If I were playing b-ball with the Pres...I would definitely throw the game! :) I really enjoyed his appearance on Leno last night! I didn't think his comment on his bowling game was all that bad at all!

Cherry B - Ms   March 20th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

Abouth the banks, CNN's own financial experts have said repeatedly that most economists in this country agree that, like it or not, we really shouldn't let the larger banks fail. They even state that the banks need even more money. So where does that leave this mess.

I'm as angry as anyone about the whole crappy mess, but since we have never really been in this situation, how do we know what will happen? Where does the answer lie?

Barbara in Boston   March 20th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

Randi – Regarding Fraudster Friday.

Yes, I'm getting fishing emails about checking my credit that aren't from my credit card companies or banks. I just delete them.

My big "Fraudster" outrage this week is that Citigroup is spending $10 million to "downsize" their executive offices. Give me a break.

Laura W   March 20th, 2009 10:26 pm ET

The fraudsters can't take your money if you don't have any. Think about that.

Beth - London, England   March 20th, 2009 10:26 pm ET

@Randi Its not just the US that is under attack by fraudsters.. the recession means they're at it here too.. Only this evening was a story about a couple buying a yacht fradulently and then taking holiday snaps! Doh!

How these people can sleep at nite though it beyond me..

p.s. Whats you take on the veg situation?

Nattada, Houston TX   March 20th, 2009 10:26 pm ET

So, maybe you can try Michelle Obama suggestion. Plant vegetable yourself, and you may be more curious to try it.:)

Jane   March 20th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

We shouldnt be quick to judge Sarah Palin on refusing to take some stimulus money, she clearly challenged anyone to come up with a plan in which the state will still be able to fund those services when the stimulus money dries up. The Alaska legislature can still ask for the money.. why do we expect our governors to just take the money without asking questions?

Robert - almost homeless in Ft. Lauderdale   March 20th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

@ Randi.

I love Fraudster Friday title. LOL I cannot even get a fake check much less a real one from any government assistance agency.

Have to sell/pawn this laptop Monday and I'll be living in the SUV.

I love what this economy has shown me.

LisaL - Canada   March 20th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

good for the First Lady! she is promoting an environment of both community and self-sufficiency. working outdoors is extremely therapeutic and relaxing.

Mike   March 20th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

It seems to me that there is very little patience in America. Obama keeps saying give it time. If you can fix your own personal finance in a year you are doing well. How the heck do you think Obama can fix the 1 economy in a few weeks! I'm watching America from "the outside", I sure wish I could see the country coming together a little more.

Nattada, Houston TX   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

Randi, broccoli in chocolate?? Umm, I don't know if I want to try that. :D

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

@ Anderson-I had cookies for breakfast yesterday.
Cranberries are awesome!!!!

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

@Laura W-but they can take your credit card numbers or your name.

Cassandra   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

I can't believe that this evenings show is totally about Obama on Jay Leno and a simple joke in an hour's conversation. Get over it!!! The president isn't against the Special Olympics!!! So stop trying to make an hour news show over a half of a second joke. Get Over It!!!

President Obama is working harder than any president I have seen in my life time. Stop hanging on to his every word just so you can get a rating for a news show. Start analyzing and telling the people how to help the president get this country back on track, instead of criticizing his every word and move.

Cathy Patterns   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

The President needs to keep getting out and speaking to the country like he did last night on Leno!!

He tells what's happening in an understandable way. He talks to the people like we're adults.

Ali Bless you for the good news!

We need more than this constant bashing of the President!

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

You know what guys???
I always green vegetables and most beans, I ate green salad my dinner one and half hour ago!

Chris Sosa - Boston, MA   March 20th, 2009 10:28 pm ET

@Anderson – On vegetables, the only ones I cannot eat are beets. They make me sick. But seriously, Anderson, you need a nutrition intervention. And talking about sweets while Jack's trying to kick the habit is just wrong. ;-)

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   March 20th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

No fraud check s in the mail, but the e-mail traffic in Nigerians needing help banking millions in the US, and some people in Thailand who are seeking the relatives of a man lost in the tsunami – who left a huge estate.

Annie Kate   March 20th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

Ewww! Brussel sprouts – I can't think of anything much nastier except maybe turnip greens. Cauliflower is good steamed with cheese on top; broccoli, peas, corn, tomatoes, and salad are all ok but I'll go hungry before I eat turnip greens or brussel sprouts.

xtina, chicago IL   March 20th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

"Ro" has a great point. People who are far away from the Wall St. world slam it, as if people sit around doing nothing. It's just a different kind of job, but v. demanding

Laura W   March 20th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

That letter would've been ripped up and in the trash a few seconds after I opened it.

Thomas   March 20th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

I think these people who send out these phoney emails and letters are just a bunch of cheap guys who have too much free time to prey on the American people so they can get their kicks, Something needs to be done about these people.

Dulcie - Denver   March 20th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

I agree, I don't think Pres. Obama is overexposed. I think it's great to see him out and about. I think the Repubs criticize him 'not concentrating' enough on the economy is because they know he's a very popular and likeable guy.

Identity theft is scary. I got it once. Luckily, I do not have to pay it back. The jewery store that got the order was suspicious and contact me before he process the order. Be careful everyone, especially in this economic down turn. I didn't think it would happen to me, but it did.

Bryan Bassett   March 20th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

Could someone explain clearly and simply what contract wording entitled the AIG executives their bonuses despite the collapse of the company. Why was the government so concerned with litigation over the denial of these bonuses? Finally are these contractually obligated bonuses based on an reasonable conduct or tied to performance in any way?
Thankyou

I've received both a letter and two emails concerning this scam. Didn't even give it a thoughtl Tore the letter up and blocked the emails.Just assumed it was a scam

This is super about the garden at the White House. Another way to get families involved and getting us all back to basics. Surely no one will criticize this.

Welcome back Anderson ... great coverage on the road this week!

Now speaking of veggies: have you seen the colored cauliflower? I've seen it in purple, green and orange, as well as the normal white. To me, it seems a bit creepy, albeit colorful. I'm also with you on peas, green beans and salad (minus the cranberries). ;)

vanessa from silver spring, MD   March 20th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

@Annie- i don't eat turnip greens by themselves, i mix them in with Collard Greens. little bacon, salt and pepper, and hot sauce, and it's all good from there.

Greetings to All!Nice to have you back Anderson.I look forward to seeing our president 'out there' so much! I thoroughly enjoyed him on Leno! It was nice to see his more relaxed side,he's still quick to laugh.I had hoped that the weight of his responsibilities wouldn't drown his sense of humor and it looks like he's doing OK.A real human connection is vital,I think,if his policies need our support and being so public ,for those who like him, only helps to build that connection.

Nicole Webb   March 20th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

Sara Palin is shortchanging the needs of her state for her own political gain and ambitions. I hope the state legislature overrides her. The governors who are using this political tactic will face a negative backlash from their constituents as the money is needed. Bunch of dolts,

Donna   March 20th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Right on Jane. I think if the governors think they are better off without taking the bonus money–more power to them! I know a lot of banks have turned down stimulus money too–because they didn't need it. Why are we giving money away when it hasn't been asked for?

starr formerly known as vincent   March 20th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

On the issues of AIG money mismangement to the extreme banks and fraudulent activities preying upon so many, it seems to me that we need agood moral and ethical change A aLarge part of the money managers, banks and basically criminal people proliferated under the Bush adminstration.

I truly believe that Pres. Obama's influence in the moral and ethical area will change this dynamic in our country right now. As well as helping people begin to realize that a positive approach and attitude can change much!!

It may take a while, but i believe that Obama can do it!!

Lauren--NY   March 20th, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Great to see AC in a suit and manhattan studio =)...

I'm so thrilled that President Obama is allowing embryonic stem cell research. Stem cell research is my best hope for a cure. :)

@Dulcie, I agree. I just know SO many people who still don't have a clue about what this is all about *really*. They just know their 401k tanked. Most of them couldn't name a senator if they were paid. I was on a Town Hall with our Congressman (R) and a lady asked are you republican or democrat? Those folks benefit from seeing Obama on Leno because they "get" that and he explains things well.

laura   March 20th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

This whole AIG bonus mess makes me sick, but at the same time, realistically, this 90% tax is going to come back and bite us in the backside. This bill was done out of anger and retribution. The basic premise is okay, but things done in haste never turn out as you think they will. We got the guillotine out and cut off the head of the beast, but this beast has more than one head, so a "victory" may have been won but the war is far from over .

President Obama's reference to the special olympics may not be such a big deal, but it raises questions. You just dont go out and make fun of special olympics, what was his state of mind when he made such a statement? did he practice it the way he did with the american idol joke(that was truly funny)? It is good he apologized.

@Annie Kate-I got a call from a talent place responding to the resume I supposedly sent them. I did not recall sending a resume out to any kind of talent place so I did a search on the name of the place and added the word "scam" to the search.

Sure enough, ______ Talent is a supposed modeling agency that recruits employees to try to recruit potential models and actresses. They they charge them enormous amounts of cash for pictures and a website and the employees theorhetically get paid a commission for each gullible person they recruit.

The Internet is a valuable tool for searching out scams. You just have to know what search terms to use.

"I don’t think that POTUS is overexposed. i love seeing him all the time. It reassures me to see him."

I agree! I love seeing him too. If I didn't see him for awhile, then I'd REALLY worry about the state of the country!

As for plastic surgery, I say GO FOR IT!! If it makes you feel better, look better and be more competitive in the workforce, then do it.

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

I think the plastic surgery for older workers is a valuable thing. The tragic truth is we are judged by how we look, not just by what we can do, and that truth is even worse for women.

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

So much for aging gracefully!? I think its sad that we feel we have to change our appearance to be more appealing to others...

Monica Ruiz Oakland   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

hey people its my first time!! my friend Anthonia introduced me to this very exciting blog . I agree with Michelle planting a garden in the White House.

vesley   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

The only vegetable i love to eat are carrots but they need to be cooked with beef stew

Norman pompey   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

I almost fell into a scam, answered a e mail on craigslist for a DRIVER for a mans wife while she was in town, I was mailed a check via UPS from a hotel in Bosie, Id Ameritell, Inns yes they are real and Not part of the scam, victims too!!! I was then sent a list of instructions on how to divie out the money . I was to take this check to MY bank cash it and then send the remaining funds to a so called Travel Agent and they would contact me with the driving details. My wife started making calls to confirm the check and the pieces fell into place , we took all of the e mails and the check to our local police dept and they are now working with the police in Bosie . The Corporate offices of Ameritell Inns said there have been checks made up in the amount of $2,077.56 all over the country, on Well's Fargo Bank fake checks!!

Rafael Bronx,NY   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

At first plastic surgery was popular with celebs and now there becoming popular with normal Americans looking for jobs. This is very interesting i wonder if they will actually get a job for looking much younger.

Barbara P. Gaffney, SC   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Another thing I noticed, over the past 3 weeks an increase in junk email that is related to government grants and get your stimulus check. First of all there are not that many grants for individuals and stimulus checks are not being issued to individuals. Please fellow bloggers take the time to report these fraudulent emails and unsubscribe to them. It will cut down on a lot of them.

Trish   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Wasn't it Alice Waters who had the idea of the vegetable garden at the White House?

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

It is seriously depressing to walk into a waiting room for a job interview and realize that you could have given birth to half the people in the room. Ageism is real. However, it is one of those "ism's" which will be experienced by everyone. Look out boomers – you're next!

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   March 20th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

Another great report by Gary! He always finds a unique take on the issues. That report was pretty sad. The thing is, there will always be someone younger and better looking.

I hope they take away the Madoff’s penthouse apartment and other assets. It make me angry that Mrs. Madoff is living in luxury while some of her husband’s victims are scraping by on food stamps.

Emma,
I agree with you......... I think so! right on!

xtina, chicago IL   March 20th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

"laura" is exactly right ! a 90 percent tax on something is done is revenge. A tax on a few people is wrong, too; and it sets up a bad precedence. This is an abuse of power

Shelley - Pittsburgh   March 20th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Interesting piece on the aging population and plastic surgery since these baby boomers will be working longer than they expected.

David, Indiana   March 20th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Hi everyone kind of busy around here, sorry I'm late. I wish on the legislative part of things, congress would just own up to compromising on the bonus question to pass the stimulus bill. Why not do that from the start?

So important to protect personal information.

I was glad to hear that President Obama is reaching out to Iran, offering a "[n]ew beginning" as the post on the AC360 blog noted, this sounds good to me.

Cristy Kirssin   March 20th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Just talking to a guy today on his way to a job interview, he got laid off from his job and said he put in 22 applications and only got one call back! Really tough market, be greatful if you have a job!

Michelle in L.A   March 20th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Kind of scary that age and looks are a big factor in todays job markets. Quite obvious that the laws put in place to proctect us are not working, or at the very least have huge loop holes. Guess experience means noting. Young people tired of the older. Boy, times have changed.

Steve Green   March 20th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Did Ali Velshi make a mistake? If mortgages are now easier to get with 80% down, even with a 4.8% mortgage, who’s got 80% down?

I have been a victim of fraud in the past. As a result, I am very vigilant in what I approve of...even via e-mail. In fact, if it's in an e-mail, I will delete it. I check my credit report, social security earnings yearly etc to make sure my name is not used fraudulently.

I actually love veggies. I will eat any kind of food except beets and chocolate covered cherries.

xtina, chicago IL   March 20th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

Plastic surgery is an individual's decision , a personal thing. If that's your thing, it's a free country right? :/

Donnie   March 20th, 2009 10:43 pm ET

If you guys approached most major stories like you are with the Natasha Richardson tragedy the general public would be a lot better served. You are still not looking at the fact that she turned away the initial attempt to have her looked at by paramedics. Start there. The story while tragic is unfortunately a result of her choice.

Bridget, TX   March 20th, 2009 10:44 pm ET

My sister said she and her co-workers watched JL last night only because POTUS was on it. They love how he break things down so everyone can understand what is really going on. I asked her if they thought he was over exposed? Her response, how can someone be over exposed when the people want to see them. One of her co-workers said, until we stop hearing our world is falling, we need to see the pres. and his wife is a nice touch too.

I feel really bad for her family!

Elaine, Des Moines, IA   March 20th, 2009 10:45 pm ET

@Anderson
Cranberries in salad, hmm I've never tried that before. I just stick to veggies. Maybe I will someday.

Job saving surgery it sounds vain, but its one way for the older generation to stay in the competition.

Isabel - Brazil   March 20th, 2009 10:45 pm ET

About Natasha Richardson, if she could have been saved, it is important in preventing accidents, but for family and friends, this finding is very sad.

Caroline, Los Angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

@Maren-I took some classes at a community college last year to try out a new career idea. I was old enough to be the mom of most everyone I was working with. It is truly depressing and I think I made the young adults uncomfortable; Like maybe they were afraid to talk about their weekends in front of "mom".

Bridget, TX   March 20th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

I'm so sick of congress doing nothing but screaming foul once their lack of action is found out. Implementing a new tax law to retaliate only weaken our government-something we can't afford to have happen.

Barbara in Boston   March 20th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

Anderson, try a spinach salad with sliced mushrooms, slivered almonds, avocado, swiss cheese and a peppercorn dressing. Yum. (You can sneak som etiny cauliflower florets in there, too.)

Steve - southern Illinois   March 20th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

Wow. Now I'm craving cooked vegetables.

Ken in NC   March 20th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

Anderson, does anyone realize that while we are all looking at AIG, the CEO of CITI GROUP who testified before Congress saying that he would make sure that CITI GROUP got the message is now planning to revamp his office to the tune of 10 million dollars?

These company CEO’s do not get it and do not care. 10 million dollars to remodel an office is out right stupid and sinful.

Bea   March 20th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

Some doctor isquoted today in the paper a helmet would not have helped. That sounded crazy to me. Even the shape of a helmet might have affected the fall, much less the cushioning.Sounded reckless to say that.

xtina, chicago IL   March 20th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

does that President of Iran look like someone who will respond to "new beginning" ? Yeah that's gonna happen

Gerald S Dankner   March 20th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

The Congress puts on a good show casting blame elsewhere. They should clean up their own "old boys club" act, starting with denying pensions to congressmen and senators convicted of committing a crime; especailly those behind bars.

Sam M., Hawaii   March 20th, 2009 10:47 pm ET

I'm glad I could hear Dr. Gupta's explanation... I was scared when they said a simple fall could have caused a clot.

Emma   March 20th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

That's what I thought.....after the initial reports, I thought it was strange that a minor fall would lead to such serious injuries. People fall all the time on the slopes so it didn't make any sense that you could die from it.

Lisa L   March 20th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

Good evening Anderson,

A good way to make vegetables tasty is to steam it and add a spoon of Vega powder. You may let me know if you like it.

You are doing a wonderful job keeping me up to date with the news.

Dulcie - Denver   March 20th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

I was thrown around on a city bus last Sept and they didn't call EMS at all. Once I got off the bus, I took myself to the hospital to get checked out because I was a little disoriented.

I slammed my face into a guy's shoulder and sure enough, I had a minor concussion. I've banged my head dozens of times and never had a concussion before. Things can be deceptive.

Megan Dresslar - Shoreline, WA   March 20th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Sanjay,
Congrats for third daughter!!!!! so cute! And thanks for information the injury head caused fall on the ski area!!!! That is so sad!

Laura W   March 20th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Sanjay knows – as well as most other doctors know – that when one's time is up their time is up. Good discussion on head injuries though.

Nattada, Houston TX   March 20th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

Dr.Sanjay Gupta, congratulation for your new born daughter. Good to see you back. You are really glowing as Anderson said. :)

It is hard to tell when will you get that blood clot under your skull after you fall because it is not showing until the condition goes bad. Thank you for your advices, Dr.Sanjay.

Jo Ann, North Royalton, Ohio   March 20th, 2009 10:49 pm ET

I always thought that when an ambulance comes to the scene they are obligated to look at the patient even if the person does not want to go to the hospital, especially with a head injury.

Robert - almost homeless in Ft. Lauderdale   March 20th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

Welcome back Sanjay and congrats to you and all of your family on your newest addition.

Eat your vegetables.. :)

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

karin los angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

i read in nyt that the ski resort had no helicopter or airport transfer to a hospital. the drive was 2 hrs. they have a whole timeline.
wow

Esma   March 20th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

Fruits and vegetables are cheaper to grow and care for, and are much less of a hassle to turn into food. Think about the work that goes into planting a pear tree and lettuce vs. raising chickens.
Go veg!!!

Shelley - Pittsburgh   March 20th, 2009 10:50 pm ET

I think Obama's activities this week, did in fact take away some of the spotlight on the AIG bonus controversy. Rightly so, in my opinio. He's going to be an active President and social – we'll get use to it – I hope.

Bea   March 20th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

@Caroline. Why allow young people to make you feel old in a classroom? I don't get it. To paraphrase a great first lady, no one can make you feel inadequate without your permission.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Things always come out eventually. It's a good thing that the medical side of Natasha Richardson';s trajic death is being revealed. I know mother's who haven't let their kid ride their bike for the last three days! Helmet sales – mjostly for bikes – are up. That's probably good. But blind panic is bad. Good to have Sanjay back! He looks thinner since the birth of daughter #3. Glowing is right!

Isabel - Brazil   March 20th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Anderson,

The series' Road to Rescue 'was very well done and interesting!
It was very good to know how each part of the country is dealing with the crisis.
For me, it was still better, I knew more America. I work with outsourcing, then I met my client more too!
Thank you!

@Derrick- i totally agree with you, she should have wore a helmet, but who of known that she would so suddenly..

Barry Hession   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Rather than focus on what was or wasnt done in the Natasha Richardson tragedy why not ask why she wasnt wearing a helmet

Bradley   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Cut President Obama some slack for heavens sake. I am sure no malice was intended by his comment on Jay Leno last night. If anything he has inadvertently and unintentionally brought some much needed attention to the Special Olympics. Thanks Mr. President.

Miranda H.B. CA   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Gloria, Brooklyn, NY   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Enjoy your weekend, Everyone!

John   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Natasha Richardson: Why wasn't she wearing a helmet? I am 57 years old and have been wearing a helmet for 20 years...I am a very aggressive skier, and fall routinely skiing all over the world. I always wear a helmet. Did the resort not require her to wear one? Since she was taking a lesson did the instructor not require that she wear a helmet?

Again, why wasn't she wearing a helmet....does she usually wear one? Where was this basic safety measure, and why wasn't employed? No one seems to be asking this question or really even mentioning on the news-your news as well?

Thanks! John

Bea   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

Anderson, the vegetables you eat are not properly seasoned. I'm surprised because you've been to Louisiana and they cook amazing vegetable dishes there. In New York, they don't know how to cook vegetables. Sorry! But they cook a lot of other good stuff.

LisaL - Canada   March 20th, 2009 10:52 pm ET

i like the way the children are involved in the garden – fresh is very good. i wonder what fruits they are going to grow – raspberries are so good. and the bee-hive – what a wonderful idea. honey is "the nectar of the gods" – so good for you.

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:53 pm ET

Anderson...I just have to add that you kinda sounded like a 6 year old being made to eat your greens.."I still don't like vegetables" :) It made me laugh!

Michelle Obama is good dig up with shove on the ground first spring day! I like what she said!!!!

bee hives.

Maren in Oregon   March 20th, 2009 10:53 pm ET

Great show tonight Anderson. Hope everyone has a super weekend and Anderson, I hope the Obama's will invite you to the White House for a dinner of White House Veggies hehehe.

See you all Monday night.

Love the veggie garden that Michelle started today. I think it's a great idea. When I get a house I will defiantly have a veggie garden.(My fam is from the carolina's so I love the idea of a veggie garden.) Loving the homemade honey, even though I don't like honey, it's still a good idea.

Maureen T, Canada   March 20th, 2009 10:53 pm ET

The victory garden is great idea

Emma   March 20th, 2009 10:54 pm ET

I helped my mom with her garden when I was little but that didn't make me like vegetables. Actually, I haven't eaten vegetables in over 25 years......unless you count French fries and carrot cake.

Beth - London, England   March 20th, 2009 10:54 pm ET

Tragic accident but hopefully it will increase the number of people wearing helmets and make less people decline treatment..

Sam - CA   March 20th, 2009 10:55 pm ET

I'm so happy to hear that Alice Water's in involved in the garden project. She has done a lot of work with the inner city schools growing their own veggie's in the San Francisco & Oakland area.

Anderson, was that your impression of the Cookie Monster? haha.

Nattada, Houston TX   March 20th, 2009 10:55 pm ET

@Derrick, not many people wear helmet when skiing. I know I didn't. And I didn't even know that just a minor fall would kill you. Sorry, but I do not think it is right for you to say that it is her fault.

Many people will ware helmet when skiing after this anyway. I think her death will save people lifes. May she be in a better place.

karin los angeles   March 20th, 2009 10:55 pm ET

i used to spit my veggies into a napkin and hide it in my drawer when i was a kid. now i love them steamed. try brocolli with diet mayo. it is heavenly or try tomatoes with a sweetener on top. yum i love veggies now

Barbara P. Gaffney, SC   March 20th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

I wonder how the White House gardener feels about the vegetable garden.

Anderson, start with ones that you like, and add to it that is my advice.
Steaming creates a better tasting vegetable and there are additional things you can add like low fat oil based dressings that add additional flavor.

Jacqueline, NY   March 20th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

Anderson,

Eat your veggies!

Cristy Kirssin   March 20th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

Hi everybody!! It's pretty sad to know that those CEO's of failed banking/financial groups still dont get the fact that them being greedy is just going to upset everyone, and make them look like bigger idiots then they already are.

Poor Natasha Richardson, why is it always the good people that have to die?

LisaL - Canada   March 20th, 2009 10:57 pm ET

oh – i LOVE cookie monster – and ernie – and bert – and the count – he was so great – "one – two – three ... THREE green brussel sprouts" ha ha.

Shelley - Pittsburgh   March 20th, 2009 10:57 pm ET

The vegetable garden – nice to see our young people are still learning to plant. Most urban youth don't get exposed to this kind of thing. Hopefully it will catch on to more schools.

starr formerly known as vincent   March 20th, 2009 10:57 pm ET

Love Michelle Obama's ideas re: garden. veg's and fruits do taste better when you grow them and they are fresh..Mrs. Obama has been addressing so much, and i admire her!

It's time to say good night to Anderson, crew, everybody else on the show (we miss David G). Wishing a pleasant weekend to my fellow bloggers too!

How can Obama's media blitz be a backfire? As I said last evening, I have seen more of Obama in his term so far than I did of Bush in his last 6 years.

What I WANT to see is Congressional members stand up, step up, and fix it. Represent the United States for once other than their own interests.

Fix Fix Fix.

Rikki, Fargo, ND   March 20th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

The Road trip was interesting, lively and a lot of fun to watch. However, it's good to have you back in the studio in NYC! Thank you for a great show to carry us through the weekend.

Oh I missed too much tonight, sorry again.

Congratulations to Dr. Sanjay Gupta and his family!

Michelle Obama is right to get those kids involved in gardening and healthy eating.

Anderson, very much enjoyed the road to rescue shows and seeing reports from across the country.

Good night everyone

Natasha Richardson's conditon was at first OK, right? Although, she could visit hostital immediately...! Ms. Richardson does not have to be gone, if she wore a helmet and went hospital quickly, as medical doctors have been saying! Does helmet can be an equipment for skiing? It's just like a seat belt.

(I had an epidural hematoma by a car accident, but it was easy to start to fix because my skull and ribs was broke and bleeding. And the docor said "it's hard for people to come to hoapital because usually the victim has NO external injuries.")

While I was not surprised by the public outcry over the AIG bonuses, I was dismayed by Congress's knew jerk response to tax it. I don't even know if it is legal???? I agree that it does not look good, but these bonuses were negotiated and AIG has contractual abligations to fulfill their agreements with employees.

Michelle Obama is such a role model for the children! I'm with her on those gardens! Nothing like the good feel of mother earth on my hands, and then the real treat comes when harvest!
