Good evening and welcome to the AC360 Academy Awards Live Blog. The winners, the losers, Jack Nicholson’s sunglasses…we’ve got your running commentary. And sure, considering all that’s going on in the world, the Oscars aren’t hugely important. But if you’re looking to get away from the bleak news-of-the-day for a few hours, then this blog is the place for you.
We should also point out that we’re not encouraging you to change the channel from CNN, but if you’re going to watch the Oscars anyway, you might as well watch them with us.
And even if you’re not watching them, because of your feud with Kate Winslet or whatever, we think you’ll still enjoy the live blog. I’ll be with you from 8:00pm Eastern Time until the Oscars finish airing here in New York.

Me too Ashley...he was so cute in that role and really made the transition to an adult better than most of them do. I remember being totally shocked when I saw Lords of Dogtown...he was great and almost unrecognizable.

"Man on Wire" is another movie I'd love to see – I'm fascinated by the guy who walked the tightrope between the Twin Towers.

It had to be a honor to recieve an award for Heath Ledger's oscar. how sad! It was kinda weird to see so many celebrities pour their emotions when Heath's family took the award.
Jack, if I promise to say I'm cured, can these 'interventions' be over...pleeeeeeez! The show is fun for a change, the opening number was r-e-a-ll-y good, but that musical number was only missing Gene Kelly - and I fast forward through any of his 'conceptual pieces.' Sometimes Oscar productions should be left at rehearsal.

Indeed. The first movie I saw Ledger in was "10 Things I Hate About You." Very good and funny movie. Everytime I hear the song "I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" I think of Heath singing it.

Congratulations to Heath Ledger - Definitely a well deserved win. That movie was so dark and the Joker was a genuine madman – I totally loved it. Here's to your dad, Matilda! You look just like him.
