White House slams Bush for Katrina

President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.

President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina. Citing the Bush Administration's "unconscionable ineptitude" in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims. Obama visited thousands of Hurricane survivors in the Houston Convention Center and later took three more trips to the region. He worked with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to introduce legislation to address the immediate income, employment, business, and housing needs of Gulf Coast communities.

President Barack Obama will partner with the people of the Gulf Coast to rebuild now, stronger than ever.

While Obama seems on point with his leadership and characterizations of the catastrophic ineptitude of the Bush regime, America needs less talk from Obama and simply, action.

MOST EXCELLENT !!!! Haveing volunteered with the Red Cross in Biloxi and New Orleans during Katrina for over 6 months all I can say is ...... God Bless You Mr. President !!!!!!!

The time for incompetent and uncaring HOOVERISMs are over ........... Without being a Christian fundamentalist myself (and I know that President Obama is not one either) ...... we and most Americans be they Crhistian or Muslim or Hindu or whatever seem to be acting more like them than the self procalimed CF himself ..... none other than the LIAR and Deceptive Greed and War mongerer G W Bush. I am sure if there is a just God He will not be happy with you G W for using your 'self proclaimed association' with Him and His works in vane to promote your agenda of Greed and Religious Dogma and Riches for the Priviledged at everyone elses expense .... You ole duplicious self serving sinner you ....... Be prepared for a hot time when judgement day comes for you Georgie you freakin' HYPOCRIT !

Funny it seems that Obama has forgotten that he voted NO to give more money to NOLA yet instead voted YES for that same money to go to Alaska towards the road to no where! I guess his memory fails him when he wants it too huh!?

wow, nothing like making yourself look big, Nothing like the lies, and Deception the Congress did to the American people when the katrina hit, lets see. how many presidents, and Congressmen and Mayors, and other officals were there long before bush was. I think many. I think that verberl abuse makes obama, and the Other Democrats look cheap. and makes them look lowlife like, just remember when one finger is pointing threee are pointing back at them and the Media,

oops, let me rewind and breathe as i type. lol a correction for my previous post...

i agree that the damage from katrina could have been far less had serious action been taken on the recommendations that had been made for decades.

k, i feel better now. :) it at least makes some kind of sense now. lol
