Bush's tenure is over as President. His acts on stage were definitely not appreciated. With regards to Katrina- his comments and gestures, by the looks of it- seemed to indicate that he only went off stage momentarily and was transported back to 2005, where somehow he got lost in translation. His animated defense of the situation in Katrina is appalling- the whole nation, even those who were not in that area and were following the progress of events on TV- could palpably feel the lack of emergency and timely help. On TV it felt like slow motion and I was- again transporting myself back to 2005- "What's happening, can this be real?? in America?? children screaming for help in their helplessness, it seemed as if America had stopped breathing- when this country is capable of rendering ER help for such situations, what is the point in moving in ER supplies when that initial 24 hours or 48 hours or 72 hours was so disdainfully ignored. What was witnessed by the American public -those who have hearts- shall remain the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. That initial lack of motion has upset the progress in the entire belt that has been affected, what with the triggering of crime etc.- it takes only a vicious cycle to upset the direction of progress.
I hate slow motion politics- its despirited, non-patriotic and only goes against the nation. So Bush can continue to take it slow as he steps off-stage and retires comfortably into his villa, leaving not only President-elect Obama, but the entire nation with a plateful of woes.
But thank God at least we can get to breathe fresh air, finally.
