Bush's last speech - what a lovely ring that has to it. I guess if he concentrates on the important things he did right it will be a pretty short speech. If he concentrates on the things he did wrong then the speech may take us to inauguration day. I really kind of feel sorry for Bush - from reading several things you get the sense that he really wanted to accomplish great things for the country, the GOP, and the world - and it mostly went terribly wrong. It has to hurt to know that so much of the country can hardly wait until he goes out the door. Of course I feel sorrier for the country and the people because we have to suffer with the messes he left until Obama can clean it up. Perhaps history will judge Bush a little less harshly than we are judging him now, but I wouldn't count on it.

Geez, cold and snowy here in Denver. It took me over an hour and a half to get to work. It usually takes me about 20 minutes. There wasn't all that much snow, but the winds up by me were blizzard-strength.

I hope you warm up. We're kind of used to it here, but the high winds can stop anytime.

Crisis in Gaza:
When I analyze the current situation, I see that Israel has no regards for human life. To rob humans of hope and make it easier to die than live and when they fight back they are terrorists. Flying over cities and dropping bombs on civilians, though more sophisticated weapons, is a form of terrorism.
Hamas came into power with the support of Israel and the US. They supported corruption and eliminated hope amongst the Palestinians and then they asked for elections, and the people spoke. At that time instead of trying to bring Hamas leaders into the political arena we/USA decided to support a non-elected official and create a civil war. So democracy is only conveniant when we have the people we want in power.
To end the crisis the leadership that is needed does not yet exist, b/c it requires elimination of blind support and intense international intervention which might require international troops and allowing the people Palestinians and Israelis to be heard and through true democracy get rid of there recycled politicians, that waste precious human life to achieve ther political aspirations, after all it is election time in Israel.
If you ever want to hear from a Palestinian/American you can contact me by e-mail

Well I hope that they are better at keeping up with this $350 billion than they were with the first that was just squandered away it seems. Actually I hope that they hound whomever it will go to asking for all sorts of boundaries like they did the auto industry. And I would love to know how Obama is planning on giving some of that money to people that are getting foreclosed on. I don't see how he can possibly do that. He will be bum rushed by people. And the ones that don't get any money will go crazy about it doing only God knows what.

I hope that this Israel/Gaza conflict is over soon. Too many innocent people are being killed and hurt for nothing. They should have already agreed to the cease fire and continued working on a plan that both agrees with.
