I didn't care to hear any explanation for her cussing. Honestly I don't believe that either of them thought the the mics were off. Cussing is Kathy's shtick that she uses to get attention. She knew what she was doing. No need for Anderson to try to make up excuses for her! I'd rather not have seen or heard her again.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still Kathy Griffin.

I didn't bother listening to this, but I have to agree with Cindy I don't believe that Anderson or Griffin thought the mikes were off either, it was obviously just a stunt to get people to talk about the show the next day.

Why does Anderson feel the need to defend such trash?

Why is she so famous?? whats her special talent?
Being mean and rude to people on their face and talking bad about any issue presented to her is all that got her famous. I was suprised to see her host a show with CNN !!
Next time just get Paris Hilton. Atleast she can smile and look pretty.

Lighten up people. Dev S – She's famous because she's funny, talented and doesn't take herself too serious, unlike most of the other Hollywood A-list bores (like Paris Hilton). I don't know what the big deal about this is... why are people offended? Good on her for being herself on New Years Eve! Kathy and Anderson make a great team. She should come back next year. It's the only New Year's Eve special that I will watch now. We love you Kathy!
