Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.

“The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,” said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. “The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine.”

Having worked the business side of this industry I have noticed it going down when I got out of it a few years ago. I can believe that they're hurting very badly now – especially since the company I worked for has laid off almost half of their employees last year. Since the government is so gung ho on giving away our money – why not?

OMG...this is just too funny! Larry can really pick 'em can't he!? LOL I knew it was just a matter of time that some other "businesses" would be going to congress with their hands out. Although with this one I think it's a joke and yes...a publicity stunt.

Can you imagine us giving them a hand out...UMM...I mean really I never thought that industry would have problems no matter what the economy looked like. LOL

Not only the bailout but he's suing his nephews for smacking on the flint designate appellation..... that's appellation, not appendage

Not with my tax dollars. I'd rather Congress burn my money than give it to this industry.

I think Larry is trying to be funny and he is! Or maybe he's trying to send a message to Washington that one bail out deserves another!
Cute Larry but no cigar!
