Get off Obama's back! The same goes to 360, CNN, and Anderson Cooper. Barack has not become the President yet. But you are already critisizing and slamming him! In the morning, Obama announced an absolutely brilliant national security team. PERIOD. So, get off his and Joe Biden's back. Enough is enough!

I think it would show a catastophic lack of judgement for Obama to disenfranchise the Defense Department at this point. He needs these people to update him because it will take time and experience for him to build up a different intelligence network that he can trust implicitly.

Liberal blogs are fired up, some worried that Obama will go back on his peace-seeking promises.

This sentence is pretty meaningless without some sort of attribution. What liberal blogs? What are they saying?

Obama has always been more pragmatic than ideological. The media has taken a cue from the Right and tried to paint him as an extreme liberal, but he is nothing of the sort. Is Obama the man I thought? Absolutely. None of this is surprising.

I'm with Mike, NY: Obama is definitely the man I thought he was.
Obama wasn't elected for his war plans, people.

Mike is so right! Obama will have to "make concessions" as to staying on the course for the betterment of the US. But it will be much the same as Bush's posse.

And after all he said about Hillary and poked fun at her: to put her anywhere on his cabinet: OBAMA is so two faced he might actually be three faced. "change" never looked so familiar : )

Sara, if you studied Obama you would know he said he was willing to take out Bin Laden even in Pakistan if their government was unwilling or unable.
Do I have to paraphrase Bill Clinton? It all depends on what the word change is. More of the same, I think not.

Hugh, if I'm not mistaken, Obama stated that he was going to bring the troops home from Iraq. Hopefully, he won't bring them home for a few days and then send them to Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I'm still waiting for "change." So far, it looks like more of the same.

For those paying attention, Obama has been equivocating on his Iraq plan of withdrawing one brigade per month for some time now. Liberals will no doubt cry 'foul' when he accepts the plan Bush negotiated with Iraq for a longer term withdrawal. Obama will cite 'changing conditions' as a basis for his action. The only change of course will be that he's President and can't afford to be the one seen as losing Iraq.

It may be possible that few people realize that security advisors might have more to worry about than simply Iraq. Remember countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and even Russia present threats to the US. Wouldn't it be a good thing to have "hawkish" advisors so that they can keep our president informed? America will leave Iraq regardless of if they are hawkish or not. After all, the Iraqi government has recently passed a bill that will ensure American troop removal by 2010, or does nobody else read the news?

Cindy, you're off your rocker if you think Obama will be another Bush! They're as opposite as humanly possible.
To the liberal left I can only say that Barack never said he was anti-war. He was against the Iraq war, but not against the war in Afganistan where Bin Laden ran away to like a scared little rat.

So far impressed with his choices and answers.But after Jan.21st,2009,he is the boss–where buck stops as he said.Suppose Americans are attacked after Jan.21st,2009 from terrorists trained in Pakistan like this recent Mumbai attack–Would US attack these bases where these militants are living/getting training?
If US intelligence know of an impending attack in India,Middle East,Africa,South East Asia, impacting Americans–would US or Obama try to stop it?
Did US Intelligence know of the Mumbai Attack?

I think he will do what he has to do. We are in two wars, Russia is getting more aggressive by the day, and the unrest in India isn't making matters any better. We elected Barack Obama to see change...I believe that he has shown he can and will reach across party lines to get things done. Taking Robert Gates in for another move was a smart move. He knows what the situation is on the ground and did a wonderful job cleaning up the Rumsfeld mess.

It's obvious from Obama's appointments to his cabinet that he will stay the course in Afghanistan....and even be going into Pakistan when it is called for. He said after all that he would do what ever is needed to get Bin Laden and his cronies did he not!?

I don't know why the liberal blogs are going so crazy? If they would have listened to what he really said then they would have known where he stood on issues...well I mean after he changed his mind a few times!

IMO he will be another Bush just like he accused McCain of being! Or no...better yet he'll be another Carter!
