We are serving our country in the Peace Corps in Romania. We received our absentee ballots on Monday, October 29, filled them out, and sent them via express shipping the same day. We paid $140 for the express service.

Here we are with our sealed envelopes in downtown Suceava, Romania. We were told our package would arrive on Monday, Nov 3. We hope so! We have always voted and really want our votes to count this year.

November 4th, 2008 3:02 pm ET You shouldn't need to spend that much money to be able to exercise your right to vote. That said, I'm glad you were willing to spend the money to insure your voices are heard. |

November 4th, 2008 3:16 pm ET Good for you! You are my hero! Thank you for voting! I admire you for doing your civic duty with your circumstances. Voters in the U.S. who chose not to vote (even though they're able to) should read your story and learn from you. |

November 4th, 2008 5:09 pm ET Now, that is what I call dedication to the rights and privileges of being a U.S. Citizen! As a Vietnam era veteran, I want to thank these two for so positively representing our country in their work for the Peace Corps. I remember a Republican in the 60s saying the Peace Corps was a fad of the "flower child" culture, and would die. It's nice to see that that prediction was as wrong as so many of Nixon's were. |

November 4th, 2008 5:56 pm ET Wow! $140.00 for the shipping of the absentee ballots. All of us should be as dedicated to voting and having our voices heard as these folks. I hope their votes got there in time too! Annie Kate |
