I think she has fulfilled a purpose in her life, however, is she listening to the caregiver? I picked up my grandson from a crack house fourteen years ago with the police and my daughter would not even come to the door when the man of the house brought him out and handed him to the police. At that time the police told me that if I didn't take him he would be placed in a foster home. From that day he has lived with me. My daughter has been in several treatment centers, 90 day shock, incarcerated and released and is now in the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women in Mitchellville, Iowa. She is to see the parole board in March and I am so afraid of her getting out and leading her son down the wrong path. Family Directions of Iowa sponsors a Mother's Support Group at the prison and I think this is making the children enablers. They are not teaching the child to be strong. I am not sure how I feel about what Carolyn Lecroy is doing. I guess if it makes her feel like she is doing something for the inmate then her mission is fullfilled.
