Since our nation's leaders continually look the other way as endless executives and politicians run our country into the ground, I believe it's time to focus all our energy on saving the ecosystem and its wonderful members.

Although we may not be able to save us from ourselves, we should be able to pull together to save our surroundings.

Keep up the wonderful work and know that your efforts are greatly appreciated.

I hope soon they will come to realize how important sea creatures small big and larg are to us .Its like they wait till the last minuet to do anything about just like they economy with those morgages and stuff ,but they sure do jump on things when it comes to war and spending money that way and ready to send our troops out on false stuff when actualy instead of using our troops for killing why don't they help this country with going out cleaning up the waters and our streets from drugs and child abuse we got a war right here to fight in the USA .It would be nice to actualy can use the word GOOD before USA again

Hey Lisa,
Let's face it. Sharks aren't pretty or likable but they serve a purpose and they are very important to our ecosystem!
We call those "trot" lines here in Texas. I just hate them! They are so indiscriminate. They hook anything and everything. Then, they stay hooked until they drown or starve. I'm quite sure it is very painful too! Oh, that's right some think that fish can't feel. Surprise! They have more nerve endings in their mouth than we humans do because that is how they find food! It is just sick and lame.
Who can do these things with a conscience? Shark fin soup? Yeah, go ahead and mix a recipe for the planet's disaster.
Pollution and destruction soup. Ahh, sounds like a witches brew but us mortals are cooking it up as fast as we can.
Inflict war, pain, destruction and death. Who ya'll gonna call? humans?

Hi Lisa, Great video. It's too bad about the sharks, they are such beautiful creatures. Thank you for making everyone aware of this issue. I'm really looking forward to Planet in Peril II in December. I'll be watching. By the way, next time, take some Dramamine before you leave dock so you won't lose your lunch. I am looking forward to seeing more about the sharks in December's showing of the complete Planet in Peril this year. Its terrible that the sharks are caught for their fins and then once the fins are cut off the sharks are thrown back into the ocean to sink and die. Its sickening. Unfortunately, the sharks will probably go extinct before people who like shark fin soup are forced to give up their demand for the product. And one more magnificent creature will be lost to us. I've seen this type of fishing done all over the place. They set these trot lines to try to catch as many fish as they can. They could care less what other fish or animal may get caught up in it.

Unfortunately these people are using this same method to catch hundreds of sharks just for their fins and nothing else. This type of fishing for sharks should be made illegal.
