Editor’s Note: O.J. Simpson arrived Monday for the start of his trial on robbery and kidnapping charges nearly a year after police arrested him in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prosecutors say Simpson and five other men stormed into a Las Vegas hotel room last September 13 to recover sports memorabilia that Simpson said belonged to him. They say at least two men with Simpson had guns as they robbed two sports memorabilia dealers. The following dispatches come from our Paul Vercammen covering the trial.

Judge Jackie Glass speeded up the selection process in the O.J. Simpson kidnapping and armed robbery trial by having juror candidates sit by themselves in the jury box for questioning on Thursday morning.

During the previous three days, prospective jurors took questions in front of dozens of other potential panelists. But on Day Four, the candidates sat alone, and six of six qualified for the final pool of 40.

Just seven more prospective jurors need to be passed through. Four women and two men qualified this morning, including a femalecustoms agent at the airport who cracked up the court with her first recollection of Simpson.

“ My first memory of O.J. is running through the airport,” she said.

The customs agent was referring to a television commercial for a car rental firm that showed the former gridiron great sprinting past and jumping over airport obstacles.

An African-American male was added to the prospective juror panel. The plant operator said he disagreed with the Simpson murder verdict. He said he thought Simpson had a good attorney who gave him good results.

O.J. one of the "GREAT" diversion stories to keep our minds on this fool instead of the real news like finding Osama, the elections, Ike and much more other important events.

U can lock up oj all you want, just to make yourself feel good. we all know oj is ah idiot. this country is in no moral position to judge anybody! if you want2 do something REALLY important why dont you go find Skooter Libby! or the people who really killed J.F.K. or R.F.K! or martin luther king! instead of futher misleading your mostly white public with your false set ups. you might can fool your uninformed american public but you can NEVER fool the creator. what comes around-GOES AROUND is a universal law. and america has a date with destiny. that date is fast approaching. and as you called yourself judging oj, you2 will be judged!
