I saw a picture tonight on CNN of Palin kneeling beside her caribou kill. It truly was not at all attractive; quite gruesome. Then I go to 360.com to find the stories of how she cares for OUR environment and animals. I do not see a person who cares so little for wild animals and our environment as a Christian. As I understand things, God put all of us here in this environment to take care of one another. I feel sick to my stomach after reading about her methods of hunting and killing wolves. She is far more interested in the money to be made than caring for any animal or our environment. She appears to be a very ambitious and self-centered woman. If she truly wants to hunt, she should join the Army and go to Iraq or Afghanistan. Oh wait! there the "huntees" as well as the "hunters" have weapons.

I find it very hard to believe that this woman is a "loving" mother. I have read in more than one place that in order to know what a person is really like, watch how they treat animals. I do hope the U.S voters look long and hard at her record. She has already been caught in "the bridge to nowhere" lie. How many more?

McCain sounds more and more like a liberal and Obama has reversed everything he stood for to sound like a conservative. What we need is a Democratic congress and a Republican President to tie all the thieves in knots. The people have only the power of the veto working for them.

My friend who teaches in Alaska tells me Palin has s a lawsuit against the Fed. Gov. over their listing polar bears as endangered, because the listing disrupts her plans to drill Alaska's oil rich North slope.

Sarah Palin lost me with her first speach. She made jokes about every important issue. She made people in the crowd laugh when she made the joke about the democrats thinking that global warming was man made. She reminds me of the movie where the comedian won a presidential election. She needs to stop making fun of the issues and have an interview to let us know what she really thinks of the real issues. If not the republicans will become the joke.

Sarah Palin is a barracuda alright. People in her own town, says she has bitten the hand of every person who has extended theirs to help her. When she fired Wasilla's police chief because he "intimidated her, Then she trun around, and tries to replace the man she fired with a man she knew had been reprimanded for sexual harrassment. This caused a public furor, so she withdrew her support. Palin only wants people next to her, who she can control. Well I have news for you Mrs. Palin, you won't be able to control the Republican Party as easily as you control the people in your little town. You will be dancing to another tune, and as ruthless as those republican can be, when they finish with you, all your dirty laundry will be out. You want to hang with the good old boys, lets see how long they let you hang, before they throw her out the club. Sarah Palin is a big mistake, and probably with more baggage, then the law will allow. Their is more to Sarah Palin than meets the eye, and I am willing to bet my meager paycheck, that it is not all good.

It is frightening to read some of the comments on this blog and realize there are Americans who act like this election is a TV reality show and we are voting for the "the biggest loser". Wake up! We will be the biggest losers in the world if the voters elect McCain/Palin and we get dealt another four years of policies that fatten the pockets of the oil companies, ignore the environmental issues,get us into another war, cater to the demands of the right-wing religious groups and deny the fundamental rights of women to govern their own bodies. And all of this with the credentials of "hockey mom" Sarah Palin,as VP, who used her clout like any other"old school fat cat" politician in Washington to fight her own personal battles with relatives in Alaska. Sounds like she's got great experience to be the next VP of the same old party that's been ruining our country the last eight years. Change, hah, it's just more of the sorry mess!

Clearly McCain needed a way to win over the evangelicals and far right, and at the same time hope to win over the female lunatics that will do anything just to see a female in the White House. She has a terrible and frightening resume. I hate the Republican rhetoric saying she has more experience than Obama or McCain. She has been governor for only two years, and it was just reported that she billed the state of Alaska for working over 300 days from home! Has some one informed her that she cannot be VP from home? I also read that she attended transferred five times while in college and took her six years to graduate??? Lastly, many people will think that I am an elitist, but she has a journalism degree from the University of Idaho. This is not a great school! It is ridiculous how the right wing media has brought up Harry Truman and how he didn't attend college. That was over half a century ago. People that are leading our country need to be educated, and I certainly question her level of education.

it is more of her disgusting behavior. I am a white woman age 72 and I started looking into Palin because I was shocked and curious as to why McCain would choose her with really so little experience. What I find out is shocking. Her behavior a mayor and governor. Im not talking about gossip sites but real info. When I heard other white woman on news today saying they would not vote for McCain before but will now because of Palin and continue to say they knew nothing about her we have to speak out. Obama was not my first choice but will now support him because of issues and Palin. We can not risk a chance of her becoming President ever! She has lied daily. Check it out, please!.

First of all – why does she wear an Alaska pin on her lapel when she has absolutely NO regard for the environment , and if Bush is willing to acknowledge that polar bears are endangered and she won't what does that say about her. Clearly it would be hard to find a more narrow minded far right person than Bush & Cheney but the Republicans managed to do it.

I NEVER thought that anything could be more scary and destructive as the last 8 years but if they get in – I am not sure the planet can survive 8 years.

What do Palin's Native constitutents feel about needing to move from villages because of rising sea levels and shrinking sea ice, threatening their way of life and their very lives?

What does Palin understand about the potential collapse of the Arctic ecosystem as the sea ice disappears?

What doe she understand about the graves dangers of melting tundra and the resulting release of carbon dioxide and methane?

She needs to be asked these questions and more regarding what she proposes be done to address global warming – even if she doesn't believe it is "man-made."

The author is clearly right on this subject. Conservation groups have been fighting Palin in court and otherwise on most of these issues for the duration of her governor's term so far. Even the scientists in Britain say that if Bush's environmental policies were bad in comparison Palin's stand on the environment is toxic. The European nations who have been our allies for years are disgruntled because instead of leading on environmental reform and cleanup that is dearly needed the US has to this point done nothing of any substance.

Yes it will take money to fix the environment. Yes it might mean that some of the riches of the earth we may not get to plunder to line our bank accounts with or fuel up our cars, but there are good fairly simple solutions out there for a lot of our problems but most people aren't interested if it doesn't involve immediate relief to their pocketbooks. As a nation we are being extremely short sighted on this issue and whether you believe global warming or not (one person suggested it was a natural cycle) you need to look at the evidence again and then realize that inaction may cost us tremendously in the years to come and in the years ahead for our children. People need to wake up and smell the roses before there aren't any to smell.

No doubt the Republicans will be OUTRAGED that Palin's environmental record is being reviewed. How dare they question this saintly woman?
All we, the public and voters, have is her record, since to date she is not ready for interviews and won't be until proper "deference" is shown. I hope to heaven my fellow Americans will look past her cute TV show character facade and focus on her record and her stand on the issues (if we are ever permitted to discover what they are.)

I'm just wondering if you've even read Al Gore's book which is filled with scientific data. Scientists do not deny that the earth's climate goes through cycles. However, there is much data to prove that global warming is being *accelerated* through short-sighted misuse of natural resources, pollution, etc.

I doubt if many people find criticism of Ms. Palin and her far-right positions as humorous as you say you do. Most people take our election more seriously than that. Furthermore, if the article you are commenting on is about Gov. Palin, there is no need to mention Sen. Obama. His candidacy is another topic that has been written about endlessly on this blog over the last months. Since Gov. Palin is so new to the national scene, it is to be expected that she would draw more attention in the short term.

I'm sick to death, however, with all the comments here those those bullet points are your "opinion." You've clearly (and rightly!) deduced her views from her voting pattern. These are the facts, Michael from Toronto, so any "rebuttal" to facts would certainly be lies.
