“Laissez les bons temps rouler”… Or Let the good times roll.

That is the local saying here in New Orleans.

You would think during a big hurricane, especially after what we saw here in 2005, that people would be overly cautious and get out.

However, just a few minutes ago, 4 guys came up to our liveshot, beers in hand. The winds right now aren’t the worst we’ve been in, but still pretty rough. Plus, the rain is pelting us (and it kind of hurts!)

But that is no deterrent to these 4 party boys. They are already off on their next adventure. Apparently they are living the unofficial New Orleans creed: Laissez les bons temps rouler.

Well Kaye…I guess you can say that it’s a rolling there but not so much in a good way! LOL

I saw those guys walk behind Anderson during his live shot at about the time he was saying no one was out and about! I had to laugh…I just hope that these nuts get back inside and don’t get hurt!

You all stay safe!!

“There ain’t no party like a hurricane party!!”

I live in Miami and this is how we always handle the hurricanes too! We stock up and make sure we are prepared and then have a hurricane party! When you are cooped up inside for hours and hour and potentially with no electricity – it is a small comfort to have your friends and family with you and have a little party atmosphere. However, we would not venture out and walk around!

You are all doing a terrific job in covering this storm.

Doesn’t it now look like NOLA has been relatively spared and not getting the brunt of the storm and damage?

With all due respect to your coverage and the people of NOLA, it would be nice to cover more in-depth those area(s) and people who are receiving the biggest brunt of storm. There are a lot of people out there who are probably losing a lot. They deserve the same coverage as NOLA.

Thanks.

CNN is doing an amazing job of covering the hurricane. From Chad to Anderson to Ali to Sean and Garry, just A-1 reporting. Kudos!!

That is so typical of New Orleans, there are some people that view a hurricane as an adventure and it is kind of exciting, we stayed in SLidell during Katrina, a wild ride for sure – today we live in the west desert with only a few wild fires to worry about.

Some people just have no sense. No evacuating but actually out and about drinking during a hurricane. While I hope they are ok I also hope they don’t cause anyone else to get hurt.
