At least 40 people were killed and 141 injured from a deadly blast this morning in Kabul, Afghanistan. Despite hallmarks of a Taliban attack, the group is denying responsibilty for the bombing. At this point, there is no clear evidence which group carried it out. CNN's Nic Robertson reports.

July 7th, 2008 11:12 am ET It seems to me that the Taliban are trying to rev up their people again by doing these senseless attacks. And of course they are going to say that they didn't do this attack. They don't want the Afghan people to start disliking them and turning them in to the US soldiers. My guess is they see the Afghan people starting to go over to the US side and they don't like it. So they are trying to show that they still can harm them if they go against them. I honestly wish that 360 would do more on Afghanistan and hopefully Anderson can even go over there soon to show us first hand what is going on. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Cindy...Ga. |

July 7th, 2008 5:49 pm ET Anderson – I dont understand this. I am confused. How can Taliban do this attack on civilians in Afghanistan. The only reason I can see why this attack happened is becasue America wants to create unrest between Pakistan and India. By showing a Pakistani hand behind these attacks somehow. I know my comment will get moderated. But whatever happened to freedom of speech here. Why cant you think for a second on this option? Good Pakistani, Indian and Chinese relations are bad for America. It will take out the strong American hold on Pakistan ecopnomy. If that happens then Pakistan will be independent and it is the only Muslim nuclear power. Unesttling the peace process and economic ties between the three is the reason American is still in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan built the nukes to detter any attacks from India and that stablized the division of powers in the area. Why cant america just leave its military missions. Come on now. You all know what is going on. Why can't you be more subjective than just laying out the facts which are mere illusions for the naked eye. |
