		<description>I must have missed the CNN report on the mass reenlistment of 1215 of our troops in Iraq.
On July 4th, these young Americans stood up to show us, and the rest of the world, what it is to be an American.
They are truely the stars and stripes decorating our flag!!!</description>

		<description>Great report.  I was pleasantly surprised that so many knew who the founding fathers were from their pictures.  Maybe we are teaching something in our schools!  

To go along with your quiz on the founding fathers I&#039;d like to add that Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on July 4th 1826.  When John Adams died his last words were &quot;Jefferson still lives&quot; but Jefferson had died about 4 hours prior to Adams&#039; death.

In 1863 the Battle of Gettysburg had just ended the day before with Picketts Charge.  General Lee was hurrying his troops back south.  When the war was over it was many years in some places in the South before July 4th was celebrated again.
