Morning folks...

Tonight, we continue our series of 2008 Presidential candidate profiles...Erica Hill uncovers the John McCain you don’t know. From the hard lessons learned in his darkest hours as a POW, to the political scandal that almost ended his career to the bitter fight of his failed 2000 White House bid, we hear from friends, colleagues and critics on how the Maverick of the GOP was born and how his biggest defeats shaped the President he could become. If you still cannot decide who you want to vote for? Well, then tune each night this week to learn more about all three...

Sticking with politics...It is the final face-off in Philly tonight before Tuesday's primary. Another network hosts this LAST debate between Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. BUT we will have all the fireworks and post-debate coverage with Candy Crowley, David Gergen and TIME magazine's Mark Halperin...

AND do NOT worry we will continue to keep you update on the what goes on in Polygamyland...a.k.a. YFZ (Yearning for Zion) Ranch. David Mattingly will bring us the latest and Gary Tuchman takes us to a NEW (well, new to AC360) Polygamy Compound. Gary says they applied for the building permits by lying and saying it was going to be a hunting lodge. Instead, the 160 acres in desolate southwest Colorado have become another compound for Warren Jeffs FLDS. Neighbors have always been nervous; now after Texas they are even more so. Investigators tell Gary what happens in ELDORADO also happens here. Gary investigates....

PLUS, we will bring you the latest in the Pope's visit to the White House and if we have time we will introduce you to Eric Thompson, a dot.com entrepreneur, who sold gun supplies to both killers from Virginia Tech and Chicago's Northern Illinois University. And if you think Thompson is remorseful or apologetic about his connection to the killing, which left 39 dead, you are wrong....Kelli Arena
has this chilling interview, especially today. Today marks the one year anniversary that Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 students and faculty before killing himself at Virginia Tech...

It is still early but this is the direction we are heading in for tonight's show....

Come on Anderson, I just watched the last half of your segment on Barack Obama this morning. Is the MSM scared to actually report facts on this man? When discussing his senatorial election, his electoral success was presented as a impressive accomplishment. It was also stated that he won in areas of IL that a black candidate would not likely win. You sort of failed to mention that he was running against another afro-american, a carpetbagger (A. Keyes) after a scandal that forced the incumbent out of the race. Fact is fact – and this may not diminish Senator Obama, but it is the truth. Will history books be written and be forbidden to use Senator Obama's middle name? This is craziness.

I blame the MSM for the fact that we are in Iraq. Not enough questions were asked of the administration. George Bush was given a pass. And now it is just another sad story to report every evening.

Use your position to explore and inform the public of the truth. Instead of just a segment of your broadcast – dedicate your entire broadcast to "keeping them honest".

The show sounds really compelling tonight. Thank you

Thank you AC/360 for the 2008 Presidential candidate profiles they are informative in making a voting decision. Your coverage of the Pontiff Pope Benedict the XVI was highlighting. Are you a person of faith Anderson? I was wondering if you are religious at all? At first glance on the show last night your tie looked like polka dots only looking again the pattern was geometric resembling the new jacket I bought my jacket matches your tie. You have good taste and are in style. I can't blog at night the PC is not available only in the daytime. Blogging is good feedback as a fairly new blogger.

It sounds this program will have politics, religion, and a lot more. I will be sure to read the transcript. I live in Texas and until now I just never heard of anything like YFZ in my life. Thank you for the update. It is great that we never forget Virginia Tech events and it serves as a reminder to parents, schools and authorities to analyze and debate what can be done to stop such tragic events.

VIETNAM VETERAN   April 16th, 2008 9:46 am ET

As a veteran I applaud Sen. Mccain for his past duty to our country.
However, Sen McCain's past voting record for issues such as the War in Iraq, Affirmative Action, MLK Holiday etc. Really demonstrates to this American, what the Senator is really, in his heart.
It's easy for the (now) candidate to say, I was wrong! Now that you are seeking votes.

It just amazes me how hard working Middle Class Americans can vote for the Bush's (Twice) and soon McCain.

mind boggling!!!

RE: polygamy and welfare

The states that I have lived in have been very strick about the living conditions of welfare mothers. Theses women could not live in a communal situation. If they did live with someone else, they had do prove that the food (privided by welfare) was for that woman and her dependents. Seperate refrigerators, seperate shelves had to be proved. Also, if a man was in the house the welfare was ended.

Recently we had an inquiry from DES about a women who rents a house from us, to see if she had an inhouse boyfriend.

Question?

How do these polygamist women get by these hurdles? Do thy live in the states that they do because these states don't have these hoops to jump through?

Do you empty a private gated communities children if a resident therein commits a crime ?

We now are accountable for the possible crimes of our neighbors ?

How far reaching is this cloud of suspection and has probable cause been reduce to nothing more than a whim ?

In America ? Amazing.

xtina   April 16th, 2008 4:19 pm ET

why not report the honest part about Obama's election in Illinois? Jack Ryan was disdained by voters because his divorce records became public; so you see Obama became the default electee. Obama is the luckiest man ever to gain a Senate seat.

voters in Illinois know it – why don't the 'keeping them honest' team know it?

Slater   April 16th, 2008 6:27 pm ET

Ya'll are going way too far, pushing the envelope on this YFZ story. We are dealing with alleged information here. The probable cause to support the raid has still not been established.

If it is not, the media will get hard hit with the disappointment felt by viewers and readers because of the realization that this is going to have an adverse effect on these families.

Tammy   April 16th, 2008 7:24 pm ET

Xtina-they do know it. It just doesn't fit in with the all Obama network agenda to actually tell the truth about this man and honestly let voters decide based on real facts instead of journalistic spin. Maybe Anderson can take Katie's place at CBS and find his ethics again.

My husband and I are hoping to get some answers somewhere. We are wondering when these oil companies buy crude oil how many gallons of gas the produce and what the markup is? We are desparately looking for answers as are many Americans. We need to put more heat on the oil big wigs and quit worrying about dissecting what Hillary and Obama are saying or not saying. We are crying out for help with these issues and it is getting ignored. Come on folks let's all ban together and get some answers. Lord knows Washington isn't going to answer any because they are getting rich too. Please help me find these answers about the oil. Please I would really like to know how this works.
